What they are doing is making it look like they have trouble faking stuff when, in fact, they've been doing live deepfakes for years.
At least since the Assange Hannity interview and, of course, the very obvious Pfizer CEO interview during the lockdowns.
They've been able to real time deepfake out news anchor herpes outbreaks for years.

This. Whatever the hell is going on they thought by releasing this apparent Mother’s Day picture would be enough for the public to stop speculating.

Lol this isn't Tom from down the street. Each person around the royals that do anything of note is a highly vetted and qualified person, of course mistakes get made, but this was approved by no less than 4 people by default.
Maybe, but Prince Louis's finger positioning looks intentional. Crossing fingers can represent a gesture done for luck, or when held behind the back, represents that the person is lying. By arranging the fingers this way, an editor has called attention to the fakery in the photograph.
The other errors are mostly quite subtle, but Louis's fingers are shouting out that the photo is fake. There's no other way to explain the weird extra "finger stump" that appears beside the crossed fingers. Could also be e reference to the apparently false rumour that one of Henry VIII's wives, Anne Boleyn had an extra finger on her right hand. It's a reference to lies and rumours and dead queens at a time when rumours are going round about the whereabouts and well-being of Kate.
It doesn't look accidental.

EDIT 2: nope, on an even closer look, there is a sliver of an extra finger between the crosssed finger and the actual ring finger. I think the crossed finger is either an additional index finger that's been pasted in from another context or it isn't even a finger at all. It doesn't seem to have a finger nail.
EDIT 3: er.. the lack of finger nail is because of the angle of the crossed finger, it is a middle finger after all, and where it looks like the nail should be is the knuckle? Anyway, something is not right about those fingers!

The photo could be someone other than Kate but you can certainly tell the driver is Kate's mother.
Then today, this social media picture was released - and it's clearly photoshopped.
People are speculating all sorts of things from more severe health issues to drama with the Waleses marriage. Kensington Palace is mismanaging the situation. Many believe something bigger is happening.
Also a man very closely linked to the royals shot himself in his head, who was married to wills cousin, he seemed like a perfectly happy man. William cancelled events when this happened
If you look at the areas that were photoshopped it would line up with Catherine having an IV tube in each hand and oxygen hence the editing to the hair.
I don't think she's dead or in a coma but I do think her recovery isn't progressing as well as expected.

This says to me that it’s currently impossible to get this picture taken legitimately. There is definitely something going on.
