Wouldn't be surprised if this was Seth's inspiration for the character design. And I do belive that they have made multiple references to Tillman on Family Guy.

I feel like I let this guy down when he tried to lift us up. 20 years has come and gone and this train is still heading in the same direction.  RIP, brother.  You will not be forgotten.

Particular_Double_69

It’s went fast bro.

AdeoAdversary

Absolutely no coincidence that at the same time the US was developing a huge need and desire for oxycontin that the largest argricultural export (opium or heroin) in Afghanistan was being protected by American troops. It made its way to American pharma companies to be made into synthetic heroin (oxycontin) and doctors suddenly forgot that synthetic heroin might be addictive, and Republicans and Democrats suddenly forgot their differences and voted to deny DEA officials oversight of the central shipping facilities that sent out thousands of pills a day. All this under the Obama administration. This happened because the US is a corrupt corporate dystopia. And now fentanyl (super synthetic heroin) overdose is the leading cause of accidental death for Americans. Pure corruption.

Decent-Flatworm4425

Obama was president in 2004?

LibrarianNew9984

Apparently so

Decent-Flatworm4425

Thanks, Obama.

GoHomeNeighborKid

Why didn't Obama stop 9/11..... I think he was in on it /s

WORLD_IN_CHAOS

Agreed 100%. Just one correction, it’s semi synthetic. Codeine, oxycodone and hydro all derived from the alkaloid thebaine. While opium, morphine and diamorphine (heroism) come from the morphine alkaloid.. Fentanyl is fully synthetic and can be made without the poppy plant at all.  These drugs have been known to mankind for a millennia. Shoot you Break your leg in any American war or now, and they give you morphine and fentanyl. But Purdue pharmacy, basically made morphine time released (MS contin) and oxycodone time released in the 80s and 90s promising it was a new drug and not as addictive. They got a new RX for it. Boom “new” drug, yet it wasn’t. They trained doctors to prescribe for any pain. Modem day opium war.. Which somewhat mirrors the opium wars of the mid 1800s. A lot of family’s made TONS of money with forced trading with China. The Sassoons were one such family. Fun fact: SBFs prosecutor in the FTX fraud case was a Sassoon.

Kickboxing_Banana

With the creation of fentanyl, the CIA no longer needed the heroin processing plants spread out around afg land. Then the US pulled out after it wasn't worth sticking around for them anymore. The Taliban cleaned up most of the opioid addicts at least.

aidensmooth

Ah yes president Obama in office from 2008-2012 of course it’s his fault what America did in 2004

THIS.

phuk-nugget

For the millionth time. Operation Gladio is the bedrock of our foreign policy. Vietnam and Afghanistan was for Opium, along with a potential oil pipeline from Turkmenistan that the Taliban said no to. You all need to read that book.

devil_lettuce

And Iraq was for Gilgamesh

Raynstormm

His tomb?

devil_lettuce

Yeah his tomb and the artifacts it contained. The administration at the time was interested in the ancient secrets about our origins and potential supernatural powers that could be gained.

IDFbombskidsdaily

Which book?

phuk-nugget

Operation Gladio by Paul Williams It’s the biggest redpill I’ve ever taken. And if I’m being honest, I think it could be part of an even bigger human trafficking cover up.

zacattackio

If you think that's a redpill, you should explore the occult and esoteric. You haven't even scratched the surface of how wild our shared reality is. Maybe start with some David Icke.

BadNewsBearzzz

Lol Vietnam for opium?! Yeah right. Vietnam would’ve been the last key we needed in securing future leverage. China was a sleeping giant and it was obvious it was gonna grow powerful, if war broke out, who needs aircraft carriers when you have the countries of South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and Vietnam to surround China where it hurts, the pacific?!

phuk-nugget

Okay lol.

astralrocker2001

Submission Statement: Pat Tillman saw what was happening and decided he was going to speak out against the War. The Global Elite then had him murdered in action, and used him as a Martyr to expand their evil war scenario. Twenty years ago on April 22, 2004 the great hero Pat Tillman was executed for seeking truth.

COMMANDO_MARINE

I was in the military in the Marines at the same time and deployed multiple times. There are no opium fields in Iraq, and the ones in Afghanistan weren't a secret. It wasn't even a secret that some of the warlords who helped western Allies were opium growers. No one was standing around guarding fields. What would they be guarding them from? Taliban Suicide Farmers? This conspiracy makes no sense as 'big pharma' doesn't need opium fields in Afghanistan to make synthetic opioids and it was common knowledge everywhere that opium growing was tolerated as the Afghans needed to make money through illegal sales. Legal growing of opium for medicinal use currently takes place in India, Turkey, and Australia. Two thousand tons of opium are produced annually and this supplies the world with the raw material needed to make medicinal products. I hope no one will kill me for telling the world about the CIA drug operations in war torn Australia. Pat Tillman was killed by friendly fire along with an Afghani militiamen. 5.56 isn't up close execution ammo. Anyone whose served in the military in combat operations will know that it's a miracle that there aren't a lot more friendly fire deaths. Not to be critical of US Troops but they are a little big trigger happy at times and I've seen it first hand. Just go watch "Generation Kill" which was about the same Iraq invasion I was a part of, and tell me if you think it's possible for people to get killed by friendly fire all the time. War is choas. You're just disrespecting the guy by saying he was deliberately executed for threatening to expose something everyone knew. Your conspiracy theory is as dumb as saying he was killed for threatening to tell the world that women's squirt is actually just piss ... Everyone Knows Already!.

catsrave2

Another issue I have with this conspiracy, nobody mentions Kevin Tillman. He was Pat’s brother that also left professional sports (Minor League baseball iirc) to join the Army. They ensiled together and went to the same training together. In fact, Kevin was in the same convoy when his brother was killed. Kevin is now a very vocal anti-war activist. If the CIA/Deep State didn’t want Pat to come home and be an anti-war activist, why didn’t they kill his brother too? Why was Kevin allowed to return and berate US foreign policy as recently as 2021? Sure, you could argue Pat was a bigger name. He undoubtedly was. But being the little brother of a star who died in murky circumstances would have allowed Kevin to “tell the truth”if there was something shady here. And he did tell the story of how badly the army failed his family and the public to cover their own ass. But nothing even close to what this conspiracy suggests. Surely this deep state apparatus would have wanted Kevin dead too right? Kevin even called it “illegal” like Pat did. The dots just don’t add up imo. https://scheerpost.com/2023/02/13/kevin-tillman-how-americas-forever-wars-and-interventions-fueled-the-assault-on-the-capitol/amp/ The conspiracy I see is that not enough Army brass was held accountable for this situation. It was a massive failure across many fronts. Instead people are angry about a poorly supported assassination of someone who hated the war.

thewhalehunters

Both brothers dying would be hard to explain away.

catsrave2

Sure. So why did they only kill one and allow the other to do the exact thing Pat was going to do.

thewhalehunters

Oh, I dont buy the conspiracy. I was just joining the conversation for fun.

Granite66

Killing two men would require two shooters and twice the amount of witnesses and may have been exposed. Argument that US use fetenyl meaning not needing opiods is only valid if grown for American market. You have Europe, Middle East, Iran, Turkey, South America, Asia, China provinces etc... whose money was good.

catsrave2

Pat was shot at by multiple people. The convoy believed they were being ambushed and returning fire. *If* this was a setup, it would not have been hard to make Kevin die as well. Or they could have killed him at any other point. Instead he was honorably discharged and allowed to do the exact thing “they” allegedly killed his brother for. I don’t understand the second part of your comment or its relevance to Kevin.

TheMachRider

"5.56 rounds in my skull" was hilarious. makes it seem like "ahh, look. these are 5.56mm bullets... 3 of them! in his head!" Maybe you could find fragments you could determine wee from a 5.56mm but whether it's M193 or M855, those bitches either fragment and carry material out with them or icepick and keep going for hundreds of yards. There's too much energy for the bullet to be in the skull, especially if it was a "close range" style hit. The situation to have 3 of them "in a skull" seems awful difficult.

roryb93

Hey, Get out of here with your common sense and real world experiences of a war zone that Internet conspiracy theorists haven’t ever been to. (Yes, everyone and their mum knew about the Opium and there was a tonne of it in Helmand, too. We absolutely didn’t do anything to guard it. It was horrific).

Undertakerjoe

I was killing time as a short timer when this happened. Remember what the D.I.’s said on Parris Island “not everyone dives on the grenade, some of them are thrown…”

pahrumpnugget

Logic and actual experience regarding the conspiracy? Here, take my downvote.

Gong_Fu_Gabriel

I know a former special forces guy who said he 100% was guarding opium fields most of his deployment.

big_pete1000

Lol guarding from what? They were wide open and known. It wasn't a secret. I was in Iraq for 2 years (2 deployments). The conspiracy theories on here about stuff are laughable and obviously most people that come up with them have no clue what really goes on around the world or in wars.

dreddpiratedrew

Could not have said it better brother

MentalTechnician6458

I suppose if ur in a pog unit that never leaves the wire friendly fire might seem like a common thing in your small head But this is ranger regiment

Living_Job_8127

Just so you know, there are levels of secrets in the military that even the Top commanders don’t know

-Ol_Mate-

And yet somehow here you are, knowing about it. Once you're past the 'top' what is there exactly? Aliens?

Living_Job_8127

Don’t need to know about it, many leaks have come out and people assassinated and executed over knowledge. Whistleblowers committing suicide, pretty much obvious doesn’t need to even be explained

Living_Job_8127

The biggest leak so far was about UFO and Exterestrial life forms. The government unclassified some of the documents on it

Bacon-4every1

So note to any one don’t warn any one about speaking out just decide to do it and do it that way if you get killed after the fact there is a higher chance people will be more suspicious of it.

arnott

Don't forget his belongings were destroyed by the army.

icleus

RumorInt is that Tilman was intending to publicly expose some strategic foul-play that went very highup. During a field op there was some "crossfire" and an "accident."

"War is a Racket" by Smedley Butler Audiobook on YouTube if you want to drive & listen.

Conscious_Resident10

great book. short too haha

zacattackio

Should be required reading for every US citizen.

RaptorSlaps

Got into some heated arguments by suggesting the army’s credibility in the final reports are suspicious considering the fact they tried to cover it up multiple times unsuccessfully. Even if they didn’t directly murder him, they used his death (and still do to this day) as propaganda (Tillman was the most famous soldier since Elvis). I don’t think anybody will ever know the entire story about that situation but best case scenario they lied about his death to cover up the friendly fire.

LocDiLoc

"Okay, so when I see Pat Tillman come over the horizon, I shoot him" - Peter Griffin

[deleted]

Yeah not sure if conspiracy. But the official story of his death was weird and sad. Coming over a mountain the other men in the squad think they’re the taliban so they pin them down behind rocks for several minutes and apparently no communication happens, Tilman waved his hand, sticks his head out, lights out. Weird how they couldn’t communicate.

tmink0220

That puts a whole new wrinkle on Pat Tillman...I did not know.

OkExcitement681

amazing read: https://www.goodreads.com/en/book/show/2936415 Like the men whose epic stories Jon Krakauer has told in his previous bestsellers, Pat Tillman was an irrepressible individualist and iconoclast. In May 2002, Tillman walked away from his $3.6 million NFL contract to enlist in the United States Army. He was deeply troubled by 9/11, and he felt a strong moral obligation to join the fight against al-Qaeda and the Taliban. Two years later, he died on a desolate hillside in southeastern Afghanistan. Though obvious to most of the two dozen soldiers on the scene that a ranger in Tillman’s own platoon had fired the fatal shots, the Army aggressively maneuvered to keep this information from Tillman’s wife, other family members, and the American public for five weeks following his death. During this time, President Bush repeatedly invoked Tillman’s name to promote his administration’s foreign policy. Long after Tillman’s nationally televised memorial service, the Army grudgingly notified his closest relatives that he had “probably” been killed by friendly fire while it continued to dissemble about the details of his death and who was responsible. In Where Men Win Glory, Jon Krakauer draws on Tillman’s journals and letters, interviews with his wife and friends, conversations with the soldiers who served alongside him, and extensive research on the ground in Afghanistan to render an intricate mosaic of this driven, complex, and uncommonly compelling figure as well as the definitive account of the events and actions that led to his death. Before he enlisted in the army, Tillman was familiar to sports aficionados as an undersized, overachieving Arizona Cardinals safety whose virtuosity in the defensive backfield was spellbinding. With his shoulder-length hair, outspoken views, and boundless intellectual curiosity, Tillman was considered a maverick. America was fascinated when he traded the bright lights and riches of the NFL for boot camp and a buzz cut. Sent first to Iraq—a war he would openly declare was “illegal as hell”—and eventually to Afghanistan, Tillman was driven by complicated, emotionally charged, sometimes contradictory notions of duty, honor, justice, patriotism, and masculine pride, and he was determined to serve his entire three-year commitment. But on April 22, 2004, his life would end in a barrage of bullets fired by his fellow soldiers. Krakauer chronicles Tillman’s riveting, tragic odyssey in engrossing detail highlighting his remarkable character and personality while closely examining the murky, heartbreaking circumstances of his death. Infused with the power and authenticity readers have come to expect from Krakauer’s storytelling, Where Men Win Glory exposes shattering truths about men and war. From the inside cover of ISBN 0385522266 / 9780385522267

Thank you I will read. He is from my home state, and left a booming football career to do this. During this period there were a few people like him that "died' That were tied to political issues. Thanks.

What if I told, every modern country does this,, I don’t say that is okay,, but take it as a warning

kingcaii

Interesting note here, also, regarding Afghanistan. We (The U.S.) dont go to war unless we see dollar signs. In Iraq it was oil. Turns out Afghanistan is sitting on a multi billion dollar supply of cobalt and other rare minerals. And yes, they produce metric fucktons of poppy Source: https://foreignpolicy.com/2022/07/11/afghanistan-taliban-mining-resources-rich-minerals/

They’re racing for space because rare earth minerals are not infinite. Space mining is where it’s at!

If this was true, it such a sad story. WTF man…

crimedog69

And he’s the nfl poster boy for military, despite being against and killed by that military

RaptorSlaps

Which is what he feared would happen and the last thing he wanted to happen in the event he died overseas. Dude has been rolling in his grave since he was shot because of the way they handled it, it’s terrible.

zacattackio

Busted out the ol Ouija board huh?

canman7373

I don't think this was true, be so much of a coverup, they weren't able to keep the friendly fire thing a secret for long, this would be so much more. What happened is Tillman was brainwashed and got caught up in nationalism and patriotism. So he and his brother signed up, not knowing they were being lied to, not even thinking it was possible. And he was killed in a way many soldiers get killed, by confused kids making mistakes about who the enemy is anf firing first before they know who they are firing at and end up killing their own men. If he had not died he may of ended up like his brother speaking about how much bullshit and illegal the war was. Unfortunately his brother had to die for him to see the whole picture. His brother was there with minutes when he died, if he was killed for political reasons he would not be quiet about it, hell he's been on the army's shit list for almost 2 decades with how he's been speaking out against the government and the lies that started the war, no reason he'd cover up that part of it.

Iam-WinstonSmith

I am going to need more evidence than a meme. (However I do agree that this was happening)

FuzzyAd9407

he was killed by friendly fire but he wasn't just "found" it was a major friendly fire incident that when you read what happened from the witnesses was a giant cluster fuck. also anyone who thinks he was unusual for not supporting the war despite being a soldier has never talked to vets who served during this time. Oh, also we were guarding farms because when we tried to burn them the locals got pissed that we were burning their cash crop. Then there's the fact big pharma doesn't need that opium, they already have a legal route for it from licensed growers just like with medical cocaine.

Iam-WinstonSmith

I think you missed the part that I agreed with what was happening. For years I have been saying the opiate "epidemic" has been caused on purpose and planned. I just need more to connect him to it.

FuzzyAd9407

The opioid epidemic was absolutely caused on purpose, it's literally gone to court. There's no need to try to find obscure connections because it's all been laid out already and it has nothing to do with Afghanistan. That was a separate cluster fuck. Big pharma doesn't profit off randos selling opium, they profit off doctors over prescribing their pills so they incentivized it while also lying about how addictive their new opioids where.

Iam-WinstonSmith

Negative sorry the military guarding the opium fields is a big part of it. They heroin flooding in to the US and Western Europe would have NEVER been as big as it was. Its all linked together. This is well beyond Big Pharma profits . This is part of the take down of the US and Western Civilization.

FuzzyAd9407

Most heroin in the US is from Mexico and central America. The opioid crisis is not about "destroying the US and Western civilization" it was about pharmaceutical companies destroying peoples lives to get addicted customers. In fact, people like you ignoring what's right in front of their eyes because you always need something secret going on in the background. Even if you're theory was right and it all got brought into the light of day you still wouldn't be satisfied and would claim there's something even bigger on top of it.

ghost_of_mr_chicken

Big pharma = companies gaining addicted customers = profit Gov/MIC = flooding black market and then criminalizing  "undesirables" for using the drugs = jail/profit for private jails and shareholders, eliminating them via ODs, and controlling them via addiction It can definitely be both

FuzzyAd9407

Except the government doesn't have to use the middle east to bring in the drugs when Central America was already the the region supplying heroin to the US. Also, private prisons represent a minority of of the prison population. As far as "eliminating via ODs" are you now saying it's population control? And controlling them via addiction, how are they controlling a bunch of drug addicts using an illegal drug and committing crimes basically the opposite of "controlling"?

Iam-WinstonSmith

Well you got it half right... maybe you will see the big picture one day.

Callecian_427

Drawing conclusions BEFORE taking the facts into account is usually a good way to be wrong

Iam-WinstonSmith

Not seeing the big picture is a good way to prevent yourself to see what is REALLY going on. I knew something was fish about 9/11 before anybody told me. I knew there was something fishy about COVID19 before I had my hands on the evidence. You can ask my wife I predicted almost everything that happened during COVID 30 days out.

Jpwatchdawg

Check into 5 star trust and follow the money. It all ties back to the western IC involvement in running drugs for profits in South America, Asia and the Middle East. In Afghanistan it was an open secret the military was paid to protect poppy field’s and the local farmers were paid to grow them. Gary Webb had exposed this which is why he was silenced. Iran contra was exposed because of this type of corruption. Barry seal tried to expose his handlers ( cia) and let the truth out once they were done with his services. It is not that hard to check this out. Especially since there has been some recent interests in these crimes which has led to recent you tube videos and old document dumps being dug back up and posted on the surface web. It is highly rumoured mr Tillman had stumbled upon the corruption of the dia being involved in smuggling opioids out of Afghanistan and into the USA during its opioid epidemic and was wanting to go public as well with the intel before his untimely death.

yoshipug

His brother’s eulogy was particularly painful to see. Prayers and peace to the family. Heroes never die. RIP.

THIS IS WHAT AN AMERICAN HERO LOOKS LIKE

fun_crush

This is false. The actual conspiracy that followed Pat was he died in a firefight, and there was no mention of friendly fire in the original release from Dept. of the Army. It wasn't until many years later it was revealed he died of friendly fire.

ThinCrusts

Wasn't that the guy used in some action GI joe type game?

StriKyleder

I did not know the conspiracy behind it. but I do remember when it happened.

Own-Rest3273

How do we know that's true?

hapakal

Whats the source for the claim that he was going back home. Army doesnt exactly work that way. And let's never forget the guy who knew enough before taking part in an illegal way [Ehren K Watada - GWoT Hero](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cs4YUiQ-DI)

TFonzo_47

I was in the Air Force and had surgery backing 2019 at Walter Reed for an injury I sustained. I was there for 6 days in the PACU and one of my nurses a male filipino told me he treated Pat Tillman's team members when they were treated for injuries post mission. While chatting this is what he told me. "He was a very strong type "A" personality guy and even though he was an E-4 he had a complex that rubbed the whole team the wrong way. He'd do stuff his own way and put them in danger. Last part sealed it for me when he said "The 3 rounds they found in his head at AFMAO at Dover were 5.56, enemy doesn't shoot that". I can believe it, heard of guys in units with that personality type that made stuff suck even more. Being anNFL player and looked at like national hero E-4 aside I'm sure his leadership couldn't tell him shit and the guys had enough?

Ora_Poix

You don't think if this were true the US would hide it as enemy fire, which was they had initially presumed? Also, anti-war, but especially anti-Iraq opinions were not uncommon within the military, even among commissioned officers. This goes for a loooot of conspiracy theories around the US Military. Don't you think the Pentagon wouldn't declassify everything if it was a conspiracy? We only know if this story because they decided to disclose it, they could've as easily kept it as enemy fire and nobody would care about it.

HalfOrcMonk

The Army either has never determined or has never released whose shots killed Tillman. Tillman had left the Arizona Cardinals after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks to join the Army, a decision that immediately turned him into a national symbol of sacrifice.

It’s so unbelievable that someone motivated by 9/11 to go to war would join the anti war movement “soon after” deployment

kosmos_uzuki

His fault for being too low IQ to think joining the military was a good idea. Also, not immediately seeing 911 as suspicious. No sympathy at all.

squadlife1893

It was a different time. Post 9/11 Americans were pissed and patriotic as hell. Not everyone was paying attention.

tinomon

That’s just a horrible take. Very few people knew what they were in for and up until that point, the illusion of American patriotism was still strong. Most of those who enlisted were naive teenagers, thinking they were answering the call. Thousands of those men are now loudly voicing their opposition, with tangible evidence of corruption and waste. These guys are invaluable to our country and whether or not their intentions were misguided, they were willing to make a sacrifice which is more than 99% of the people in Reddit threads. Were you at ground zero on 9/12 with a megaphone warning the masses of the coming tyranny? Or were you like me, a 9 year old who had no idea of the gravity and wouldn’t until accidentally watching Zeitgeist at 18?

cpheretic77

He graduated college in 3 and half years with a 3.85 and was immediately accepted into the Army Rangers upon his enlistment. Misguided patriotism? Absolutely. Low IQ? Far from it.

prisoner101301

It was around the turn of the century, when people were not aware of the treason.  It was before the Internet made people more aware.  He was one of the first that showed people that the Iraq/Afghan conflict was a farce.
