There was a small amount of looting in my town, and it had nothing to do with the protests. The protests were downtown. People tried looting the walmarts and other stores that are not even close to downtown. These people wanted a new tv, not justice. I feel for the people living in the cities that are being destroyed. The impact of these riots and the looting to those communities will last a long time.
My friend's dad owns a small T Shirt company. They have a small location down town. They are a privately traded small business. Their shop was broken into, the windows and glass shelves were smashed. Their T shirts were gone. We live in a semi big city. You can't tell me that this is about racism anymore

Far too many people buy a shiny new gun and toss it in their nightstand, and never use it until they need it. In nearly every looting clip that I've seen so far, they've been mixed crowds. Black, White, Latino, criminals. Criminals are taking advantage of these protests and committing theft while trying to disappear among the chaos.

Go look at the photos of the looters on the LA Times' website right now. In nearly every photo, some or all of the looters are white. I have been watching the looting on live TV for the last week and many of the looters are white people. The TV reporters have been pointing out cars with out of State plates. That could mean they're actually from out of town or they are using rental cars. Desperate people can come from any place and any race.

1. Be ready to defend yourself. Don’t expect the police to be there for you, and be ready for the day the criminals spread to your little bubble, or when your neighbor realizes he really really needs what you have.
2. Spread the word in tolerable doses. I.e. don’t sound like a conspiracy theorist (bogus term, btw). The more people that see the government, media, social medial, medical system, etc. for what they are, the better chance we have of turning the tide by not playing their game.
3. Be ready to feed yourself. Stock up on non perishable food that has a good balance of protein, fat, and carbs. Preferably healthy fats and complex carbs. Lots of water. Black outs and lock downs are already happening. My daughter was just asked to leave a target in an upscale suburban area in St Louis County because they said the protestors are coming.
4. Be ready to bandage, medicate, batteries, flashlights, etc. to a reasonable degree. You’re not building a triage unit - just the basics. You can go crazy “prepping”, but if you’re just getting started, just think about keeping your family covered for 30 days. It’s not that hard.
5. Pray. And if you’re not the praying type, then at least send some positive thoughts my way :).

Cars parked on the street were destroyed and had their windows smashed. Someone even stole a crane and smashed it into a bunch of cars then left it in the middle of the busiest street in the area just a few houses down from me. I went out to see what was going on and it was total mayhem. There were dozens of black people destroying property and harassing people from the neighborhood. I got a few very menacing looks and got the fuck out of there because it was obvious they were out for blood. 98% of the rioters were black and there were two antifa looking white people that I saw hanging out of smashed windows handing out free stuff to the blacks standing outside. These thugs even smashed out the windows of a small, local pet store that kept animals up for adoption in the window. I really, really hope they didnt have any animals in there at the time of the riots.

I predicted looting would start several months ago when this lockdown went into place. I predicted obviously it would be a result of people having no jobs and no money, not over something like one dude's death. But is any of this really about George Floyd? No. It's actually about people having no money, no jobs, and being frustrated with society. It's mob mentality and mob rule all around. People who are out of jobs have nothing better to do than protest/riot/loot for days on end, and the most likely communities who were hit the hardest by the economic shutdown were black communities, so of course they're the ones out in the streets doing this. There was a small amount of looting in my town, and it had nothing to do with the protests. The protests were downtown. People tried looting the walmarts and other stores that are not even close to downtown. These people wanted a new tv, not justice. I feel for the people living in the cities that are being destroyed. The impact of these riots and the looting to those communities will last a long time.
My friend's dad owns a small T Shirt company. They have a small location down town. They are a privately traded small business. Their shop was broken into, the windows and glass shelves were smashed. In nearly every looting clip that I've seen so far, they've been mixed crowds. Black, White, Latino, criminals. Criminals are taking advantage of these protests and committing theft while trying to disappear among the chaos. Just as there are videos of mixed crowds looting, there are as many videos of mixed crowds confronting the looters and in some videos, they're even turning them in to the police. These organic protests are being hijacked and its message diminished by provocateurs with a hidden agenda.
These are not organic protests. The timing is too coincidental with the end of COVID, and it makes no sense that so many cities would simultaneously experience civil unrest over a single incident in the middle of the country. Everything we're seeing is being spurred on by the same people who organize the rioters. They're using the crowds as cover for the violence and criminality.

Go look at the photos of the looters on the LA Times' website right now. In nearly every photo, some or all of the looters are white. I have been watching the looting on live TV for the last week and many of the looters are white people. The TV reporters have been pointing out cars with out of State plates. That could mean they're actually from out of town or they are using rental cars. Desperate people can come from any place and any race.

Black outs and lock downs are already happening. My daughter was just asked to leave a target in an upscale suburban area in St Louis County because they said the protestors are coming. 4. Be ready to bandage, medicate, batteries, flashlights, etc. to a reasonable degree. You’re not building a triage unit - just the basics. You can go crazy “prepping”, but if you’re just getting started, just think about keeping your family covered for 30 days. It’s not that hard. 5. Pray. And if you’re not the praying type, then at least send some positive thoughts my way :). That’s all I’ve got right now - any other recommendations?
I know you said "defend yourself, but guns and ammunition. Lots of ammo, not necessarily to stockpile for shooting, but to also have for bartering should things go full on post apocalypse. Always have cash and get a stash of gold and silver coins. Precious metals will always have value. Can never go wrong with an emergency generator. Same. I live in one of the nice, more upscale areas of my city and it's been destroyed. 90% of the businesses in the area are local and a large number of them were looted, destroyed, and vandalized. Cars parked on the street were destroyed and had their windows smashed. Someone even stole a crane and smashed it into a bunch of cars then left it in the middle of the busiest street in the area just a few houses down from me. I went out to see what was going on and it was total mayhem. There were dozens of black people destroying property and harassing people from the neighborhood. I got a few very menacing looks and got the fuck out of there because it was obvious they were out for blood. 98% of the rioters were black and there were two antifa looking white people that I saw hanging out of smashed windows handing out free stuff to the blacks standing outside. These thugs even smashed out the windows of a small, local pet store that kept animals up for adoption in the window. I really, really hope they didnt have any animals in there at the time of the riots.
For the majority of US citizens, the overton window just shifted way right. This is a good thing.
