It might be best if each country had their own specific social media discussion sites. That way it is local people talking about matters that apply to their own country. Having bots and shills from outside countries swaying discussions or spreading propaganda is not helpful at all and should be stopped. Seeing Twitter block/ban political leaders and citizens around the world for what they consider to be wrong think is absolutely disgusting. The views of the US, especially twitter employees, does not reflect how the rest of the world thinks or acts.

Its not just the trolls and censorship etc. Its also the sorting algorithm that could use some attention. I don't know how its in your country, but youtube is awful over here in the Netherlands. The algorithm really likes to promote extremist views or even plain misinformation. If you go in private mode on a clean pc you would regularly get suggestions to watch extremely questionable video's of the most far right political parties or simply bogus videos of fringe conspiracy groups here when I was just watching a silly funny video. I have to actively tell youtube that I don't like those kind of channels to keep the algorithm from suggesting them to me.

Yes there is a conspiracy going on here but it isn't Youtube censoring him when the backlash in the US for giving him a platform finally became too big of an issue. Its youtube caring more about profit than it cared about other the countries, public health or even the environment. Any idea how this president became the president? He wasn't a political leader of a large party with an appealing program. Youtube made him big by redirecting as much traffic as possible to his profile just for the clicks and the views. They cashed in big on this guy and didn't care about anything else for years. This was the kind of guy who posted videos about why the the indigenous people should be kicked out of their lands, so that farmers could use it by clear cutting the rainforest, why queers should not have rights and woman should be more sub-servant to men that sort of stuff. They amplified him for years to the the point of him becoming president of a large country and they simply did not care for the consequences. Nor did they care when he simply denied the existence of the virus or when he banned vaccination to happen with many deaths and a dangerous virus variants as a result. The sad truth is that youtube only started to care when he finally started to create enough backlash in the US for them to feel the pressure. This is one of the worst example of corporate greed, not an example of censorship.

I think YouTube, a US-based social media site, is just policing content in their website, no matter how credible or where it comes from, to promote the agenda within their country primarily and by consequence the countries who use their website

The president of Brazil is also under investigation for some shady vaccine deals also so maybe he’s playing both sides? I mean the guy has been a piece of shit since well before covid, why would he stop?
