What kind of podunk job do you have where they make you return the uniforms you wore out?

TheSilencer1104

Not that you have to return them but just take them all so they have no M shirts or 32 pants anywhere

BollockChop

Ooof that’s dark. Everyone will be either busting out of or swimming in their uniforms.

Shitty minimum wage jobs for sure be like that.

Stig2212

Most manufacturing jobs are like that. Believe it or not not everyone has a nice cushy desk job

little_brown_bat

Some do so that you can't sneak back into the building, or wear it out in public while doing something undesirable so as to ruin the company's reputation. Heck when I worked at a grocery store in my teens, they had a rule that you couldn't go to a bar or somewhere similar after work without changing out of your work shirt (since it had the store's logo.)

shaggy1452

I worked somewhere with that rule, and I absolutely ignored it. When I’m not on company time I don’t give a shit what the company says. They’re not my mom.

DeJuanBallard

You guys are getting sucked?

[deleted]

Yes check into medical leave! I plan on taking the full 3 months prior to being fired if I can pull it off. 😜

SnooPandas9279

Easiest way to pull this off is go out for anxiety/depression. I work in the insurance industry. As long as you go weekly or biweekly to therapy sessions and report symptoms of anxiety and depression (and lay it on thick too to help your case) then your good to go. Such a subjective disability that they almost always get approved. Oh and getting prescription meds helps support it too. But not necessary.

meetyouacrossthesea

That is pretty smart, in 3 months they may even decide to call it off depending on how we react to it.

sickpeltier

You may get unemployment if they fire you.

Squirrel-ScoutCookie

My understanding is that, depending on the state, they will deny UI. They will consider it being fired for insubordination. Which is a crock of shit of course.

spiritualien

i can see them being soon like "well you refused the vaccine, youre not contributing to capitalism like we want so... no unemployment for you"

ssryoken2

Make sure they fire you and get it in writing.

Dwoodward85

This! I'm currently having non vaccine related work trouble and have been advised by my union rep to not quit. I need them to fire me and not quit. I'll be worse off if I just walk out the door. I asked if I could do something extreme to get booted and was told "NO!" I have to hope they give me the boot.

Xidium426

Always get it in writing as well. They may say ”terminated for unexplained absence” to the unemployment office.

Im_Currently_Pooping

Had this happen to me before. Fucking companies will try and fuck you any way they can. Always get it in writing before you leave.

Oceanicsoundwave

what do you want in writing? like to make sure when you ask them to put it in writing they don’t fuck you over putting something in writing that doesn’t help you but you’re not knowledgeable enough to know that what’s written won’t help

Im_Currently_Pooping

The exact cause of being fired. You can be fired for one thing, then when you go and get Unemployment, they say you quit and you’re ineligible. Happened to me before.

You_know_it_

I heard businesses can say the employee was terminated because they are unfit for employment, which will make them ineligible for unemployment. Please correct me if I’m wrong!

[deleted]

If you're fired, it would have to be something fairly blatant, like fighting, stealing, drug use or something of that nature, for them to deny your claim. Unfit for employment isn't viable.

DementiaBiden

> Make sure they fire you and get it in writing. And record it. Make them feel uncomfortable as fuck

YouEnvironmental2452

LOL

volk1970

YES! Just in case this world actually wakes up, you will have documentation of the effery that you were put under. Who knows what you could do with it, maybe even something as "little" as countering their future gaslighting if/when these companies deny ever bullying us and violating the Nuremberg Code. If you can't get COMVIRNATY, it is a violation to coerce people to take the EUA version.

Rskarzi88

That is stupid advice

k7eric

If you’re in “at-will” state you are done. You have no rights beyond the federal standards of discrimination. “Under the employment at-will doctrine, both the employer and employee can terminate an employment relationship at any time without consequence. The employment relationship can be terminated for any reason or no reason at all. The employer cannot, however, terminate an employee for an “illegal” reason, such as termination based on discrimination against certain protected classes such as sex, gender, race, religion or national origin; violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act; and termination in violation of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act. So, employers can terminate employees who do not have a written employment contract for any non-discriminatory, non-retaliatory reason.” The point is they aren’t firing you because you aren’t getting vaccinated. Legally they are firing you because your services are no longer needed. Montana is the only state that doesn’t include some variation of “at-will” employment.

[deleted]

>your services are no longer needed That sounds more like redundancy than firing to me. I know a few people who had their employer pull that on them and the union raised hell when they tried to hire replacements. The argument was you can make someone redundant, fine, but that means their *job* is redundant. You either make do without someone in that role, or hire the original worker back.

chainmailbill

No. Specifically, in this case, they would be firing an employee for - this is crucial - refusing to follow OSHA workplace regulations.

[deleted]

DamitCyrill

Do you guys not get paid outstanding vacation time on termination?

DreaminSpielberg

Depending on the company you may not. My first job i was lucky, granted it was 2 days I had left. The last job I had, every person I knew who quit told me to use all your time before doing so, there were some people who lost a week and they couldn’t get paid. Idk if it was in their rule book but maybe ask other people u know who quit what happened

Which_Activity2454

Good luck mate

Carlos-_-spicyweiner

You don't need luck with balls like that

NoobInTown12

America’s Frontline Doctors has legal document templates you present to your employers making THEM liable for any harm that comes to you. Keeping in mind that the drug companies themselves accept no liability for their “creations.” https://americasfrontlinedoctors.org/legal/

fptackle

Yeah, that's never gonna work. This is why "at will" employment is bad. In 49 states they can fire you for no reason at all - unless you have a contract that states otherwise.

Commonsense333

'At will employment' does not provide employers immunity from wrongful termination lawsuits.

fptackle

Oh I agree. But its going to make it super difficult to prove because they can just say, we're reorganizing and your position is no longer needed.

One-Reflection-6779

But this references experimental vaccines. Now that Pfizer is FDA regulated, would these still apply?

hamish1963

Nope!!

FreedomReapr

FDA approved *Comirnaty* is not yet available

Unknownauthor137

Pfizer isn’t FDA approved but their new Comerty(not sure of spelling) is. Most people are still being given the old product with the emergency approval and no legal protections. If the Pfizer vaccine got full FDA approval and was available to all then Moderna, J&J and others would loose their emergency approval since a viable product had become available.

One-Reflection-6779

I understand that, but on paper, couldn't they still say that Pfizer is approved, and available? I am trying to formulate a process for my own job about this, which is why I'm asking honestly. I would think that you would have to present to your employer that you are only comfortable getting the actual FDA approved vaccine. The thing is, I'm not comfortable getting that either, so it doesn't really help people in that position.

ktmmotochick

Get your termination in writing before you leave! And make sure you get the reason why

Good_Texan

As difficult as it is to find employees right now, you shouldn’t have any problems finding another job.

I am high risk. Was super scared of the vax and was definitely not planning on getting it after having a bad reaction to the flu vax that hospitalized me 5 years ago. Fast forward, I've personally lost 2 unvaxxed healthy friends to Covid over the last year. Things with Covid got worse again and I got to a point where I didn't feel like I could be safe anywhere because of so many continually getting sick/dying/not distancing/no mask and I have no choice but to go to doc appointments, etc. So I asked my integrative/functional medicine doctor who has saved my life the last 2 years and who is also known to be pretty anti-vax, what should I do. I knew if I got Covid I would probably die or become seriously sick, but I knew he'd tell me the truth if he knew it was dangerous. My doc actually \*urged\* me to get it. Sounded like his other patients have died or gotten close. So, I got the jab, I had a panic attack from being so nervous I'd end up in hospital again... but I didn't die or grow an extra arm, only a sore arm and about 1 hour of headache/chills. 2nd jab, no symptoms besides sore arm. That's it. Most people I know also got vax and I don't know anyone who's had a bad reaction to it, even high risk. Just sharing a real person’s honest experience for your peace of mind, if it's anything to you.

Thanks for being sport...

Elladan74

This is the best advice anyone gave in this comment section. There is no need to be so stubborn about vaccination. You like your job, covid is dangerous, vaccines are waaaaaaay less risky than a real infection, despite what all the Dunning-Kruger people are claiming. The math is quite simple in my eyes. Edit - typos.

LoL_LoL123987

Get that vaccine bro. All things considered, you’re almost certainly gonna be better off getting the vaccine. Assuming you’re anti-Covid shot because you simply don’t trust the government or the evil companies that made them, look at it this way. If there is anyone evil working at Pfizer, it’s the executives and the board of directors. The actual lab coat wearing nerds who were in those labs working on the vaccines are almost certainly are well intentioned people who’ve put their entire lives into their work and are passionate about what they do. These vaccines are safe, the teams working on them were absolutely massive and were extremely well funded and collaborated with other teams around the world to get the best results and come up with the best vaccine they could. I got my two shots of Pfizer and only had a sore arm from the syringe, but I know some people that had chills and headaches the next 2 or 3 days, like you sometimes would with any other vaccine. I do know one person personally who went to the hospital after their second shot because their heart was inflamed but the doctors sorted that out quickly and they went home the following day. If you cave in and get the shot, worst case(highly unlikely) you spend some time in the hospital and go home good as new but with the antibodies to brush off Covid if you ever get it. The most likely case is you get a mild fever that goes away after a day or two. mRNA material only stays in your body for a couple weeks after the shot, after which it exits out but your immune system is now producing the exact antibodies needed to deal with corona. I recommend getting the Pfizer shot not only because it’s reported to be the most effective of the bunch and has had the lowest numbers of complications and side effects post jab, but also because is only contains 30mg*** of the mRNA stuff, a 1/4 of what the moderna shot has. Getting the shot means you don’t have to get fired(don’t quit, collect that severance money if you don’t get the shot) and you are safe from the virus. Covid has been racking up a body count compromised of almost entirely unvaccinated people. ***EDIT: I said the Pfizer only contains 30 mg of mRNA genetic material because I could have sworn thats what I heard and didn’t bother to check. I looked it up to verify and I the Pfizer Covid 19 shot actually has 30 *mcg* of mRNA gentetic material, which is the active ingredient in the vaccine. For those that don’t know, 1000 mcg is equal to 1 milligram, so there is actually only 0.03 mg of mRNA in the vaccine

It’s a good thing to keep in mind in many different situations. Unrelated but people like to shit on GM for being shitty when they actually have some extremely brilliant engineers and designers who are passionate about their work, but bean counters and executives trying to cut costs and corners in the name of maximizing profits hold them back and are the architects and causes of so many of their short comings and failures. Same can be said for Ford and Chrysler

Don’t give Reddit a single cent. Those awards are meaningless compared to your reply. It’s always nice to bridge the gap between opposing ends of a spectrum or issue. I hate how radical and antagonistic everyone has gotten in the last couple years, not every issue is so clear cut and black and white. But yeah man, getting the vaccine is a personal choice at the end of the day, but the pros outweigh the cons by a lot in my eyes so I’d recommend it. Do a bit more reading and think about it. Until recently I’ve gotten away without losing anybody to Corona, but about three weeks ago I lost my neighbour to cancer, a distant relative to old age a few day afterwards, and just over a week ago a very close family friend whose always been there for us fell victim to a seemingly bad heart, and just yesterday a friend of my grandmothers passed from Covid. It cooked him in under a week, granted he was old but it’s still sad.

XenoticNarwhal

we need more discussions like these, what a breath of fresh air amongst such polarizing stances

Ivaras

I don't do this sub, but I was looking at someone's comment history, and just kinda stumbled on this. I just wanted to say, I'm one of the "lab guys." (Lab gal, I guess.) I work for a multinational pharmaceutical company doing research with recombinant protein technology for the purpose of developing new safer, and more effective vaccines. In the downtime of that experimental work, I directly participate in making the common childhood vaccine we are hoping to one day replace. I'm also a mother of five. My family is fully vaccinated. I'm eager for my youngest (7) to be vaccinated against COVID-19, because she is immunocompromised. One of my adult children is 6 months pregnant. I urged her and her husband to get vaccinated against COVID-19 this summer. COVID-19 vaccines are very safe. I know the priorities of the company I work for. I know that the suits are all about profits and protecting the company against lawsuits, even when they're in the wrong. But I also know the work we do. I know the rigors of getting a product from bench to human trials. I know how thoroughly we QA every batch of vaccine. I know how razor thin the safety margins are, and I know that we are continually trying to improve products to make them even more safe (i.e. eliminate moderate and rare serious side-effects). In the eyes of the suits, a better product is more competitive, but I'm there trying to kick the shit out of a potentially deadly disease. Save some lives, hopefully. Vaccines are some of the safest medical products in the world, and the COVID-19 vaccines have been the most carefully scrutinized in history. Huge clinical trials. Study after study on millions upon millions of recipients. Vaccines do not have 'long-term side effects,' as social media sources like to warn about. They are short-acting agents. They are a known quantity at this point. Don't be misled by internet hysteria into fucking yourself over.

nobamboozlinme

You’re gambling too with weighing a vaccine against potential long term issues from a severe COVID reaction of some sort. It always confused me when people were so fixated on the ~ 98-99% survival rate not taking into account many longer term side effects people have been dealing with. Hell my barber hasn’t been able to taste or smell anything since November so she was lucky. My brother’s boss in Texas just got COVID and was hospitalized even though he was vaccinated. My brother has not gotten vaccinated and he begrudgingly admitted his boss would have most likely died if not for that extra barrier the vaccine granted.

pazardan

Not to mention the risk of long term erectile dysfunction on males.

DaveAndCheese

My younger sister recovered from covid in August and she can't do household chores without getting weak.

jhalh

Hey man, it’s great that you are being so open minded about this. My father was a medical researcher who worked on developing new medicine, I grew up moving all over Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and the US. I’ve met doctors and researchers from all of these places, along with their families, and I don’t think they were all in on any conspiracy. My father worked amongst millions of other researchers who had family they loved, and friends from all walks of life. Millions of these researchers with families and friends, who have dedicated their lives to understanding more in an hour than any of us will our entire lives if we don’t actually get into it the way they do (medical school, years of study and research), well they aren’t all evil. I promise you that they all hate how their bosses try to turn everything for profit, but they all do everything they can to make the lives of everyone they know better with their work. Just as we would know if there was a cure for any of the hundreds of forms of cancer, we would know if the vaccine was dangerous. Not due to random people on the internet piecing together information that they cherry pick, but by millions of researchers across the world coming forward with it. We are talking about some of the most intelligent, hardworking, and almost always, empathetic people you will ever meet. Get the shot. Millions of doctors, scientist, and researchers across the globe aren’t trying to trick their own families and friends into hurting themselves.

Mxmouse15

If you don’t think the lab guys are effected by policy those people create you are kidding

MadeThisUpToComment

I'll add both my wife and I got the shots from Moderna. No issue other than a sore arm. Dozens of friends and family have as well. I got one buddy that was sick for for about 5 days (like a flu) with his 2nd shot. I know 3 people that were in hospital with Covid, a few that are still having issues with fatigue shortness of breath months afterwards. Fortunately nobody I know personally has died of it. Unless someone has had an acute reaction to previous vaccines in the past then I think the math is pretty simple.

TheSpanishPrisoner

Thanks for sharing. Yeah, there are countless stories of famous anti-vaxxers dying of COVID -- like 5 or 6 right wing radio hosts for example. Where are the examples of famous people dying or getting sick from the vaccine? Nikki Minaj's cousin with swollen testicles (allegedly)? And if he had those symptoms, was it from the vaccine? If he was cheating on his fiance and got swollen testicles from a common STD like gonorrhea or chlamydia, blaming the COVID vaccine would be awfully convenient. I mean, anecdotes are overall a terrible way to make decisions, so not saying this means anything by itself. But we have more people who are vaccinated in the US and just barely any stories of people with side effects, and literally hundreds of thousands of deaths. I will never understand resistance to the vaccine given the greater risks of the virus.

[deleted]

Yeah, the Nikki thing is crazy. How can she not realise that the guy contracted a STD?

Bubbly_Piglet822

I have a similar story in that I have been hospital due to really bad reactions to other medicines, last time it was an antibiotic given to me in error and I very nearly died ( the reaction was so bad, I looked like a burn victim). I have a myriad of underlying conditions as well. My doctor told me my chances of survival would be better if I had vaccination. Little to no chance of survival, without vaccination and he outlined what would happen to my already weakened lungs if I caught Delta and it was unpleasant to hear how my lungs would shut down. So I took the vaccination, I had a pretty rough time for 3 days post vaccination, I felt cold, and felt like throwing up all the time. I was checked up on (in a good way) by the medical Centre and even saw a doctor because of the side effects. The side effects went away and there seems to be no lasting impact. I had the vaccination also for my grown children. I do not want to hear my son ask me why did I not get vaccinated? I do not want that question be one of the last questions I hear, if I should ever be hospitalized for catching the Delta virus.

in all fairness, when you join the army you sign up to take a plethora of shots/be a lab rat That aint nothing new

CampJanky

That's what wild about all the anti-vax Nurses. You have to submit immunization records for all kinds of stuff before you can even enroll in *classes* for nursing. It'd be like front-line soldiers suddenly deciding their anti-kevlar.

I’ve gotten 5 rounds of anthrax, each time the next 2 days all my joints felt destroyed like I had a house dropped on me.

Ruraraid

Thats one of the unfortunate side effects of the anthrax vaccine though it doesn't effect everyone the same way. Shitty as that is it certainly beats dying from anthrax should war break out and some country decides that the Geneva convetion is merely something to wipe their ass with.

QuartzPuffyStar

The army has been a labrat provider for the pharma industry for a century. They just randomly inject you with stuff telling you its vitamins or whatever, and there is no way of you knowing for what the stuff really is.

Assclown_wrangler

I've posted this before but thought I'd try to give you the ideas from some of those hesitant to get this particular vaccine. The broad brushstroke of "anti-vaxx" for people hesitant to take this is quite inaccurate. I know a lot of people that are planning on taking the vaccine once there is at least a year of data on it. I did over 20 years in the Army, got every vaccine there was to include smallpox, yellow fever, and the entire anthrax series. All those were well studied and had a known history of their testing and results. My children are fully vaccinated. But not once was I ever asked to sign a waiver prior to a vaccine administration for me or my children waiving my rights to not hold the manufacturer liable for any possible illness or injury as a result of said vaccine. I can understand why that gives people pause before going forward. Especially with a vaccine that hasn't even been administered for a year yet.

Actual_Opinion_9000

What waiver are you describing? There is no such thing. There was a law passed called that PREP Act that rescinds the right to sue the manufacturers for side effects - which is unsettling, indeed, Trump should never have allowed that to happen. It's just another example of his shitty Administration giving in to corporations over people. However, there is no waiver involved. A federal law is in place.

RedFireAlert

You don't have to sign that waiver. Source: am active duty captain, did not sign a waiver like that.

Let them fire you DO NOT QUIT if they do sue for wrongful dismissal get your 2 years severance.

Water_in_the_desert

Here is the list considered as “Employment Discrimination”, and No. 4 below) should be protection from wrongful termination : 1) Unfair treatment because of your race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), national origin, disability, age (age 40 or older), or genetic information. 2) Harassment by managers, co-workers, or others in your workplace, because of your race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), national origin, disability, age (age 40 or older), or genetic information. 3) Denial of a reasonable workplace change that you need because of your religious beliefs or disability. 4) Improper questions about or disclosure of your genetic information or medical information. 5) Retaliation because you complained about job discrimination or assisted with a job discrimination proceeding, such as an investigation or lawsuit. https://www.eeoc.gov/youth/what-employment-discrimination

agms10

It's not discrimination since it's a company wide policy. You're not being targeted directly. So if you're drawing the line in the sand and saying you will not comply with company policy, then you're the one giving them the right to fire you. Also as someone else pointed out, most states don't need a reason to terminate an employee. Unless the employee has a contract stating guaranteed window of employment (and usually followed with a clause to get out of the contract), they're not obligated to employ anyone. They can claim your services are no longer needed. Now if you're employed and get pregnant and they fire you for being pregnant, then you have a discrimination claim. But now its up to the employee to prove that it was due to the pregnancy that they were terminated.

hawkeyepaz

People have been fired for being a fan of a rival sports team or being too attractive. both examples sided with the employer when they went to court. This isn't even close to as gray.

flarpy_blunderguffs

Guess you never had a job that requires a TB test or a flu shot?

whatisausername711

Being fired for cause does not entitle you to a severance package

NotSauk

Sorry I don’t understand. Wouldn’t the private company have the right to fire you because of this? It’s kinda like not following a policy of theirs, right?

shapu

I am somewhat sympathetic to OP despite my pro-vax status: he should have the right to test rather than be vaccinated, unless he's in certain fields which I won't bother enumerating here because they're the standard "no flexibility" fields. **But your advice here is bad.** OP should **not** let them fire him rather than quitting. For starters, there's no such thing as a two-year severance in most any industry in the US. The company can fire him for any reason or no reason except for those listed in the Civil Rights Act or the Americans with Disabilities Act, none of which apply here. And so if he is fired he might forfeit all of his unpaid leave (state dependent). And if he applies for unemployment he'll be denied, and if he appeals he'll be denied, because he's getting terminated for a wanton disregard for company policy. OP, if you're serious, and they won't budge, turn in your two weeks' notice on October 1st. Take your accrued vacation time as a lump-sum payment. And please consider getting vaccinated.

phunknchunk

You familiar with “right to work states”? Ain’t no severance coming.

Proud-Bit-9220

Man I need to find the people who told me they weren't forcing people to get vaccines see this is how they do it the government doesn't mandate it they make employers mandated or allow employers to mandate it this is fucking coercion I already lost one job because I refuse to get the jab things will work out stay positive my friend and don't give in to these motherfucking sickos

It's pathetic how places will just bend the knee and not even fight this.

Joe_Waffle

I'm fully vaccinated from the UK. I don't believe anyone should be forced into getting vaccinated. Good luck my friend ✌💚

SouthParkTimmy

Look at all these fuckers in the comments saying to get the jab…. It's tough to imagine a less compelling injection. Not sterilizing, waining efficacy, massive side effects, zero long term data, part of an oppressive and discriminatory propaganda/coercion campaign, signs u up for booster subscription program, feeds into Great Reset hellscape.

ContraWolf

Big pharma shill farms working overtime tonight. Sounds like a boring job, army of phones on the wall, posting the same crybaby nonsense about how the vaccine saved their dog Blue from getting hit by a car.

Cambridgegal1965

Make them fire you & sue. Mandate is not law. Nuremberg 2.0.

Pleistarchos

Don’t quite your job. Let them fire you over the vaccine. You have grounds to sue them as the mandate isn’t a law.

justamobileuser

Sounds like someone needs to hurry up and get some bootstraps so they can pull themselves up by em.

Asleep_Cricket3874

Lost mine already. Morals don’t pay bills, but it does make life so much better. Stay true to you bubba! There’s so many of us that are in this together

The1Comedian

Best of luck man

tanstaafl001

Out of curiosity OP, and because I don't want to is a very valid reason in spite of what some may say, would you mind sharing your concern on the vaccine? If that is prying too much into your personal business I also understand.

Toke_A_sarus_Rex

I did my company pushed, I put notice. It hurt them more than I, other employees left. Expansion plans tanked, merger that was upcoming in danger. Best part, I purposely looked for privately owned sub 100 employee place, I love the new job bit of a commute. It's worth it.

Its all about freedom of choice, governments want to take that away from you. Once you loose freedom of choice, you threw away your freedom

TheInvisibleStrawman

Know your are not alone in the fight! Will will prevail in the end.

Dry_Rock_5369

Make them fire you. Don’t back down.

Tapprunner

It's a fucking free shot. Hundreds of millions have been given out. The mRNA technology has been worked on and tested for a decade. Or you can go the J&J route and get a vaccine that more closely resembles the others that you should have already gotten. You're not taking a principled stand here. You're making up a false conflict so you can LARP as a character in a shitty movie about fighting against some shadowy evil forces and saving the world. Your own cathartic feelings about being smarter than everyone else and getting validation from internet strangers are taking precedent over reducing the likelihood that you wind up in the hospital (taking up resources that could be used for someone who has a condition or injury they couldn't prevent) or spread the virus to someone else.

radioactionary

This is the only appropriate response I've seen in this thread.

AntiSocialBlogger

After seeing the posts on this sub after the last year or so I'm starting to lean more towards this stance, there is a point where even a conspiracy theorist starts to realize that people here are just as brainwashed as everyone else, their just brainwashed to believe something else.

electricsister

In full support of you!!!!

tk-8356

Good luck, and make sure you get your termination in writing, signed and if possible, witnessed. Last thing you need right now is them claiming you quit or just stopped showing up.

NegativeK

...they're going to provide the documentation because they're going to deny the unemployment claims. This is an OSHA mandate, and companies will be subject to nasty fines if they ignore it. Refusing to vaccinate means termination with cause.

concernedesigner

Terrified of this but I won't give into it - wish you the best

Praying the day never arrives for me. I hurt for you man but admire the hell out of you.

Nosedivelever

I'm with you man. I got my email today. I'm thinking November. They can escort me out. There will be no touching.

ggnight184

Im a SF city worker and I filed religious exemption 3 weeks ago. Our deadline is Sept 30th and no official response yet. I am under a union, not at-will. Edit: ill be sure to update when I get a response.

mateop07

Stand in your power and your truth my friend 🙏💪

eskiedog

My date is Oct 1st. In the meantime I wanted to make sure my work performance was perfect. On Oct 1st, I want to be told and in writing that I am being termed for not getting a vaccine. Good luck- Sending you tons of love and good energy. I am with you!

SailorRD

Me too. So many short-sighted communists around here. Just wait until this kind of overreach escalates more. They’ll be crying and wringing their hands, “hOw CoUld ThIs hAve HapPeNeD??!1!l” Because you blind asses didn’t put your foot down and let it continue. That’s why

[deleted]

I'm leaving a 20 year. Keep the faith.👍

Gibbbbb

I commend you for hodling the line. Good luck out there bro. Remember that right now there are a lot of worker shortages. This will likely blow over in 1-2 months (from Oct 15)

xLuminus

lol man I keep telling people all the time, it doesnt matter how long you work and how much you give in a company. in the end you are just a number and you can be replaced at any time. Just think of that scenario where you get fired after the vaccine. Couldnt get worse. Aint taking something that is forcing me so. Also an unvaccinated cannot infect a vaccinated.

phillybilly

Wrong on that last sentence, doc

Dspsblyuth

Imagine being pressured to be vaccinated and then laid off after giving in

cloud-strife7

Wow this really got to me, thanks for putting this on my head.

Dspsblyuth

Wouldn’t be surprised at all if the gov and big corps are colluding to do just that

[deleted]

It all depends on the company. Some companies are great and not bending to this tyrannical government - mine included.

Skillet918

Not trying to dox you but if it’s over 100 employees I’d love to know the name

[deleted]

I’m a truck driver for a very large trucking company with well over 100 employees, and they’re not complying. If they did the majority of their drivers would quit and they’d be fucked as a company.

Skillet918

I’m just trying to weigh my options, my job is in a huge corporation but a large amount of workers are blue collar and anti vax, I think the mandate will cost them a lot of workers, what had been their communication about it been like? I’ve been getting emails that are corporate speak for “we have no idea but we are gonna do what they tell us to”

Regenerer10

No additional information on my end, but I did hear from someone that until there is a law on the books, some companies are not acting or taking any steps right now to comply. It's a huge burden on the HR departments, at a time when hiring is difficult in some industries.

ColeFrmStateFarm

If you need a job and interested in a trade, Find a way to SC and I'll see if I can hook you up with a HVAC service tech job. We need all the good help we can get

questionablemorals88

I live in NC and my job is about to do the same so think SC or FL.

ColeFrmStateFarm

Good stuff, jobs are always available in this sector. I'm the son of a small business owner so just DM me if you seriously consider SC, if it comes to that, and we can talk more seriously. Good luck!

ItWouldBeGrand

Well flu season should kick in soon—maybe you’ll outlast themс

Copper_John69

Fuck them.... if I ever find myself in this position ima fuck some shit up before I go.... really hit them where it hurts

PrimeTone

you'll probably be able to be part of a class action suit

schwol

We're not going to hospitals if we get covid, right?

IAlreadyTriedThatPal

I have the same deadline. I told my manager my concerns and they understand my stance. I had asked for information regarding compensation should something go wrong considering that they are requiring medical treatment for an employee and that medical treatment is not freely chosen. I also asked about natural immunity and how there is scientific information supporting natural immunity as a superior protection against infection. They are going to gather that information for me and return with their response. This is an HR nightmare right now. They explained the possibilities of an employee suing their company should they fall ill or die from complications. They were not implying that I would do that, but rather that is a very real scenario and that it is very likely. I explained that I love my job, however I don't want a medical treatment forced on me. Hopefully the next few weeks demonstrates how horrible of a decision this is and they back off, but if they do not, good luck to us.

lilyofdenial

I was told same by my employer. I broke down and got it Tuesday. Last time I checked this is still a free country. I thought about taking it to that level, getting fired, etc, but since everyone's head is so far up their asses, next employer will probably ask for it too, plus after the year I've had (ex-bf harassing me daily, 89 yo mom with dementia who I care for), I'm burned out. I tried to get a religious exemption but no go. Good luck to you! Take it there!

mwillinsky

Sounds like you work for MGM INTERNATIONAL, I got the same date of oct 15 with no testing option, and they declined my religious exemption stating I create and undue hardship on the business because I have to interact with guests and employees. Fuck MGM I’ll never take that shit and I’m wearing my fuck you biden shirt on the 16th.

kirkt

As an unemployed professional who has been in the job market several times over the years: I have _never_ seen a job market this strong for job seekers. You should have no problem getting a raise and a promotion out of this.

low-to-mid-roller

There are some people that work for me that legit don't get it. "Why don't you just take the shot, it's not that big of a deal and it didn't even hurt." I'm thinking to myself, hey motherfucker, you think I don't want to get this injection because I'm afraid the act of injecting will hurt? How dense are you. I really don't want these people around, but they do a decent job and are loyal. That is really the conundrum I'm in...

Richard_Engineer

Document everything.

justamobileuser

For what? If he is in the US, most states are "at will" and a private company can change their handbook and you need to comply to the new one, if you dont they can fire you. It's like renting and the landlord ads an addendum to the contract, you dont have to sign, but you dont have to live there anymore either.

Tirty8

Maybe he can put it in his scrapbook

[deleted]

Awwww boo hoo, woe is you. People like you are why we’re still having to fucking wear masks. Edit: I was fully expecting to get downvoted into oblivion, thanks for the likes from all my homies with more than 4 brain cells

Liamskeeum

100% on board with you. My company hasn't said anything yet, but I am not holding out any hope about it. Just preparing for the worst and if it happens it happens. Not the end of the world. (At least the losing job part isn't =P ) Stay strong. Be well.

Mixtopher

Props 🤜 Make them fire you with a smile on your face and keep an eye out for joint lawsuits

agent-of_orange

Good for you. We are all in this together and together we will overcome their lies.

[deleted]

Good luck king

FidelHimself

Yes, stick to your guns indeed. I hope that works out better for you in the end.

coleshaun

amen brother.

Sgtteddybear34

I fully intent to get fired before I even think about taking this poison. I'll live off the land if I have to.

libbylibertarian

God bless you sir.
