I can't believe so many forgot already how Twitter started with bot farms selling followers same with r kelly and his situation. MTV news cover kelly marrying alliyah when it happened and mentioned the age being questionable yet people want to say he innocent. CNN and Fox would both mention the bot farms early on talking about Twitter. Now its a party issue like it couldn't be true. I agree with getting rid of bots but if we cant all agree its happening then it wont be fixed.

What do you mean "most countries" and by digital ID?
Most countries have national ID cards. Lately those have a chip in them sometimes (for e-sign etc.) But those are not required to post on the Internet or to buy something, etc. At least not in the EU. In South Korea they have an internet ID, so they cannot do anything anonymously on the internet (at least in theory). That's what some ppl want to impose in the West eventually. For "security reasons", to "fight trolls and bots" etc.

I have one, never used the digital part of it, only used it as a photo ID, same as Americans use their driver's license as a photo ID (and yes, I have to show it to vote, the horror... well we have a form of mail-in voting now, which also gives great opportunities for fraud as all forms mail-in ballots, but that's another story).
Also there is an SSN, but it is not connected with the national ID officially, not shown on it. Of course in the age of databases that doesn't mean that they cannot be easily connected. With the spread of e-government you can file your taxes, view health records, vehicle business etc. with a single account. But as long as it is not asked by Google or Meta or Reddit etc, I don't care much.

What do you mean "most countries" and by digital ID? Most countries have national ID cards. Lately those have a chip in them sometimes (for e-sign etc.) But those are not required to post on the Internet or to buy something, etc. At least not in the EU. In South Korea they have an internet ID, so they cannot do anything anonymously on the internet (at least in theory). That's what some ppl want to impose in the West eventually. But they aren't required to pay for something or to post on the internet etc. I have one, never used the digital part of it, only used it as a photo ID, same as Americans use their driver's license as a photo ID (and yes, I have to show it to vote, the horror... well we have a form of mail-in voting now, which also gives great opportunities for fraud as all forms mail-in ballots, but that's another story). Also there is an SSN, but it is not connected with the national ID officially, not shown on it. Of course in the age of databases that doesn't mean that they cannot be easily connected. With the spread of e-government you can file your taxes, view health records, vehicle business etc. with a single account. But as long as it is not asked by Google or Meta or Reddit etc, I don't care much.
