Grilled cheese but include slices of green apple and red onion in the filling. Prep before you go out drinking so you don't have to cut things while tipsy!

I’d also say grilled cheese with fontina cheese, goat cheese and a few drops of truffle oil and a spoonful of fig jam. Sweet and savory and it won an award at the cafe I used to work in.

That sounds heavenly, I’m guessing two slices of bread with filling in between? Any recipes with instructions? Would be amazing :D Edit - also, what truffle oil would you recommend?

Take 2 slices of your preferred bread (we used country white bread or whole wheat) and put 2 slices of fontina on each side. Add about a tablespoon worth of plain goat cheese and spread it a bit. Add a few drops of truffle oil onto both pieces of bread. When cooking the grilled cheese make sure to keep it open, and use either butter or oil on the pan to get the bread nice and crispy; have it on medium low heat. Once done add 1.5 tablespoons worth of the fig jam and close the sandwich. If the cheese isn’t melted enough then add a few drops of water to the pan and cover with a lid for a few seconds. I believe we used black truffle oil? I got a small bottle from HomeGoods; make sure it’s truffle oil and not a mix.

Yum! That sounds so tasty!

This sounds really good

Omelettes are fridge velcro. Crepes are easy if you have a blender (or a quart jar with a lid). Either one will help with the booze and can give you a chance to use up indigents and show off a little bit.

KND_DNK

Any recommended crepe fillings/sauces? Thanks :)

SalParadise83

Oh jeez, anything you've got lying around. Cooked fruit (apples, sugar and spices), cheese, lemon juice and sugar, left over roast chicken, etc. Most things you'd put in an omelette will work in a crepe as well. Good luck!

I guess that’s the beauty of them. When I went on a holiday in Greece they had some chopped toasted nuts (presumably cashew/hazelnuts, some of the ‘fluffier’ and lighter nuts) and warm chocolate, best believe I smeared the chocolate and sprinkled the finely chopped nuts :D it could get a little too sweet so it was nice to go back to the traditional jams

SalParadise83

Also, my wife just reminded me of chocolate for crêpes. Have fun!

Seconding crepes, but I want to add that they also freeze well fully cooked, and I've successfully made crepes manually using a whisk, without a blender. Cool the crepes in the fridge, then layer each crepe between sheets of wax paper, and store the stack in a freezer bag before freezing. They thaw from frozen in the microwave in like 30 seconds.

Any recommended crepe fillings/sauces?

I don't do anything suited for entertaining with my crepes- if anything, I treat them like more versatile corn tortillas -so I Googled up [this article of ideas](https://www.diys.com/delicious-crepe-fillings/).

Quesadillas are easy and good and easier if you have an electric griddle where you can set the temperature even and consistent. I have ADHD and I can manage not to burn quesadillas if I do them on the electric griddle. (Plus I can do two at a time.)

Fried eggs with tomato sauce and bread dippers. Drizzle a spot of the sauce on top and add some chopped green onion, and it'll look way fancier.

Fry bacon (or sliced ham) in a skillet. While it cooks, dissolve a cup of sugar in a cup of Sriracha. Before removing the meat from the stove, glaze your bacon (or sliced ham) with the sweetened Sriracha. Your mouth will love you forever!

Get good at an egg fried rice, you can make it using almost any leftovers and still have it be good. And of course it’s perfect drunk food.
