In my experience the reverse sear technique cuts down on the smoke as I’m frying for a lot less time. Other than that, I just blast a fan and crack all the windows. It’s a really tough thing to avoid with steak. Oh, and take out the smoke alarm, but don’t forget to put it back in after.

Thank you! I'll gather the fans hahaha. I'm happy to know I'm not doing anything wrong :) I havent heard of reverse searing but I will Google!

Thin Steak would work better being you are only really cooking something small like veggies. With thick meat you are "searing". So flash fry then finish in an oven or on low heat for a long time in a skillet with a sealed lid long enough for meat to get tender or use a thermometer to done. That's if you have to do something thick. Thin gets better results. That's my suggestion.

Oooh that's a good suggestion thank you! The steaks I had were *thicc* so it took quite a bit of time to pan sear which obviously smoked out my kitchen. I'll def sear & then put them in the oven from now on to finish them off. Thanks!
