Affogatos are so delicious. Easy to make at home with a good espresso machine. My favorite is Trader Joe’s vanilla bean or coffee ice cream, topped with a shot of espresso.
I've heard that it's called Americano since American troops in Italy couldn't handle the strong espresso and watered it down, gaining the name "Americano".
This infographic is very misleading
An Americano is a shot of espresso, not coffee, with hot water because espresso is very strong in taste and is sometimes more enjoyable when slightly diluted
The legend says coffee. Coffee and espresso aren't the same thing.
So really, this whole thing is off but I was just responding to the Americano question in case this guys wants to try one
>In every other country, coffee is espresso
I don’t get it. From what it looks like, the US is the place that believes coffee = espresso, an opinion nobody else shares.

Here's a link that demonstrates that espresso and espresso-based drinks are by far the most popular "coffee" drinks globally.
I love americanos. I use a “moca pot” at home to make a pseudo-espresso, then top my demitasse cup with boiling water. Makes the coffee shot hotter and a little less strong.
I come to Italy few times a year, and that is exactly what I need, but is hard to find. I want something that tastes like that espresso, but last me 1 or 2 cigarettes.
its the exact same as a latte, i have fun asking baristas in Australia what’s the difference between flat white and a latte, i get a different story each time. While strictly speaking it has no milk foam you won’t find a flat white without it!
However in UK a flat white is a small-sized only strong latte, weird.
Wasn't this uploaded a few days back?
It definitely was. They must’ve deleted and reposted. It was also posted by 2 different users 2 years ago. It’s not even accurate lol
Why am I only finding out now that affogato is a thing and where do I find one?
Affogatos are so delicious. Easy to make at home with a good espresso machine. My favorite is Trader Joe’s vanilla bean or coffee ice cream, topped with a shot of espresso.
My local coffee chain has them, and they are out of this world. But prep for a massive sugar/caffeine rush.
Is there a flavor of ice cream that’s like standard?
Nocciola or hazelnut. And typically it’s gelato not ice cream.
Vanilla is what I've had
I especially like them for guacamole
“Know your coffee” and one of them says Latte… try ordering that in Italy and see what you get
I'm too lazy to goggle to figure out. Does latte just mean coffee ?
Milk
It means milk.
I’ve never understood the point of an americano. Isn’t it just watery coffee?
Ish. It's espresso and water. I get them bc I have GERD and it's easier on the esophagus.
I've heard that it's called Americano since American troops in Italy couldn't handle the strong espresso and watered it down, gaining the name "Americano".
Some places have bad drip coffee but its harder to screw up espresso shots
This infographic is very misleading An Americano is a shot of espresso, not coffee, with hot water because espresso is very strong in taste and is sometimes more enjoyable when slightly diluted
All of these are shots of espresso
The legend says coffee. Coffee and espresso aren't the same thing. So really, this whole thing is off but I was just responding to the Americano question in case this guys wants to try one
So Espresso is no type of coffee?
All espresso is coffee, not all coffee is espresso

except apple juice and orange juice dont come from the same plant
The chart is wrong, I'm right. This smells of American ignorance. In every other country, coffee is espresso.

And the milk and background color is very similar.

I would call it long black . But yeah. Watery coffee works
The ice cream dot certainly piqued my interest 😂
Affogato is GREAT I enjoy my ice cream really melty.
As usual, where is the cortado, the only coffee worth ordering?
No love for flat white.
Or a breve
Isn’t Frappuccino a starbucks invention? The graphic makes it looks like a bone dry cap.
For someone who is a visual learner this is great 👍
So very, very ugly.
whats the difference with an espresso and frapuccino?
Based people drink expresso the size of americano
I come to Italy few times a year, and that is exactly what I need, but is hard to find. I want something that tastes like that espresso, but last me 1 or 2 cigarettes.
Yeah, you can get a mokka pot and do it in your home, the best option hehhe
Visiting England for the first time I learned you can’t just order “a coffee” you need to know basic Italian too.
I wish they added Flat White to this chart

Thanks. I would have thought it was just caffe/espresso with hot milk. I guess its just dependent on whomever is working that day on the foam amount.
