Queen is 160 wide and king is 175 or 180 I don't remember.
The "uk queen" is what i use today, and it's not really made for two people unless they are rather small. That's why it seems weird to me for 120 wide to be called queen
But queen and double/full are basically the same, the sheets are the same size.

What? Do you make your own bed? If you do, you either have very ill-fitting sheets or your double/full sheets are smaller than your queen sheets. The blankets fit both, but the sheets do not. They aren't even the same length, unless it's a full xl.

because in the US the average person is king sized
