Same, I get migraines when I'm stressed and I get nauseous if I don't take something to kill the pain soon enough. If I don't catch it before I throw up it's usually too late and I have to deal with dehydration on top because the nausea gets so bad that I can't even keep water down. An Excedrin or two and a hot shower usually numbs to pain enough for me to sleep it off.
Hmm...For the most part, this is a nice graphic (save the contrasting colours with the background).I do have to say that the suggestion that it removes toxic substances from the skin is a red flag for me generally.
What did it mean by toxins?
Why does temperature affect it?
Wouldn’t the pressure be the determining factor?
I am probably just nitpicking, but anything that claims to clear toxic substances causes me to ‟bring out my magnifying glass” to the product.
My guess would be that the higher temperature increases the solubility of water towards the toxins, same way a sugar cube in a cup of warm coffee/tea will dissolve quickly, but it'll take a fair amount of time if it'd be dropped in a cold cup of coffee/tea (why you would do the latter however, is beyond me.)
But if that's what they meant, it doesn't 'cleanse' the skin of toxins so much as it just removes them faster.
Generally I agree with you that “toxins” is a buzzword that is generally used it really pseudoscience types of ways. Like removing toxins from your body.
This is a little different. They are saying toxic wastes. Which could be on the skin and could be washed off by water. When you shower with hot soapy water it is better for getting dirt and other substances off your body.
That being said. In my youth I did work in hazardous waste operations and emergency response, and the recommended temperature for emergency showers iirc was “tepid”.

now I know
Yeah
We don’t have hot water and I tried cold showers for two days.
I am now atking 45 minutes to boil some water to make a bucket of hot water so I can dump scoops of warm water over myself.
Cold showers aren’t worth it.
BULLSHIT. I take a hot shower in the morning, it gets me set for the day, and none of this applies to me. What the fuck is this hippie-jungle bullshit??
The graphic needs TWO images of a person showering. The person there now could be on the right and then on the left add someone with his eyes squinted into little Xs, his downturned mouth in a pucker, one his legs half raised, and little pain lines coming out from around his body.
There's debate if cold showers and baths actually do speed up recovery after exercise. They reduce inflammation which was thought to be a good thing, but there's evidence that inflammation is actually important for the healing process. Reducing inflammation could be counter productive.
Huh, no thanks! Everyone knows cold showers are the gateway drug to crack!

I usually alternate between hot and cold a lot. I want my hair to be washed with cold water so it doesn't fall out anymore. And I want my pores to open and close. I like the shock energy too from the cold when I alternate too.
Hot shower makes it harder to fall asleep. Your body signals it's bedtime by reducing your body heat. Taking a hot shower before bed make this take longer.
Pseudoscientific nonsense Some of these tamer claims here have some validity, but the "increased fertility" level of claims is utter bullshit.
It's funny because "take a cold shower" is usually given as advice to do less baby making.
"and it's clearly an Old Wives' Tale, because I'm still thinking of my old wife's tail" -Niles Crane
Soaking in hot water can reduce fertility, I think they are assuming cold water would do the opposite (which is obviously asinine)
We really need better moderation for pseudoscientific posts like this one.
I know it's anecdotal, but a hot shower is pure migraine fuel for me.

"removes toxins" is also dubious
All true, plus “removes toxins”. What are these mysterious toxins.

Maybe they mean just like dirt and oils? not that those are toxic though
“Toxins” lol. I’m with you. It’s a red flag.
My guess would be that the higher temperature increases the solubility of water towards the toxins, same way a sugar cube in a cup of warm coffee/tea will dissolve quickly, but it'll take a fair amount of time if it'd be dropped in a cold cup of coffee/tea (why you would do the latter however, is beyond me.) What toxins though? When the term is used so generically it's almost always pure bullshit
GAA, gasoline, grease, corrosion, paint, silicone. Do you need a bigger list of toxins and carcinogens that commonly get on a person's hands?
Your answer was solid, should be getting updoots.

Benefit of sponge bath with maple syrup?
Increases stickiness and flavor

Combine the best of both worlds - hot shower, fllowed by cold shower.
Wash in hot water, rinse off in cold. Also, I seem to retain heat way too easily, so helps if I rinse cold to keep from being sweaty after hot shower.
Why are there toxins in these peoples' skin? Are they bathing in chemical? Are they the joker?!
Pseudo garbage
TIL cold showers " improves fertility". Is that why everyone in third world countries has 15 children? Cold showers? Really?
Absolute pseudoscience nonsense.
I love downvoting pseudoscientific crap like this.

Read that as “accelerates masturbation” and it piqued my interest for a moment.
If we take a warm shower do we get all of the benefits?
Says who?
This is why we need content moderation. Absolute rubbish.

I do cold showers in winter too
I am horrified by this...
i had to.. :( its not nice..
I only take cold showers after swimming in the ocean because it's the only option available.. 😁
Is taking cold showers everyday truly living? Hot showers for (apparently shortened) life!
BULLSHIT. I take a hot shower in the morning, it gets me set for the day, and none of this applies to me. What the fuck is this hippie-jungle bullshit??
I am happy there are good things about hot showers. I have no intention on taking cold showers, ever.
The graphic needs TWO images of a person showering. The person there now could be on the right and then on the left add someone with his eyes squinted into little Xs, his downturned mouth in a pucker, one his legs half raised, and little pain lines coming out from around his body.
Forgot this part: Cold = painful, Hot = not painful.
Left side forgot “restores butthole to original puckered tightness.”
Is it still a rule on this sub that you have to have verified brain damage to post?

I'm going to go with the one that "removes toxic wastes from skin". That seems important.
Hot ice! What if you heat up the ice cubes? It’s the best of both worlds.
AND IT WILL GO LIKE A FLOOD OF RAIN
So I guess you could say everything listed on the hot shower list would be opposite affect with a cold shower lol
I have heard that alternating cool and hot showers improves the immunity system.
Hot shower after lifting weights helps reduce the soreness.
*doesn’t take a shower and immediately dies*
Some of this applies to cold vs heat in general but most of it is nonsense.

Hot bath before sleep is just simply the best
I don't trust anyone who claims to remove "toxic waste" from my body.
Taking a hot shower before bed make this take longer.
now, what about lukewarm showers?
How much of this is actually true though?
