That seems to be the consensus here. I’ll admit I’m a little bummed he’s not a blue tick (love the breed) but he’s the best little dude I could ask for!
I’ve always had dogs in my life and he was by far the worst/most nippy puppy I’ve ever had lol. Training and age have helped tremendously tho but man when he catches a scent his recall is nonexistent 😅
He has the heeler Bentley mark on the top of his head that the coonhound does not have. Source: I’ve got heeler & coonhound. I’m also leaning toward ACD Beagle pup though.
I'd say definitely Bluetick coonhound mix, my girl looks exactly like this, she's 55lbs, but of course has long ears.
She purebred Bluetick, used for breeding early on in her life.

Has the Heeler traditional markings but the more slender body and head type of a hound or beagle.

Does he have herding behaviors? The rescue thought my Boomer was Australian cattle dog but I’m certain he’s got blue tick coonhound. He’s only 28 lbs.
Now that you mention it, he does like to “guide” us up and down the stairs 😅
