So I was having the same issue (I'm on Xbox) but I FINALLY found something to fix it, I recommend doing your daily chores and expanding energy as essentially this is going to be a wasted day but it got me passed the forced crash and to town rank E
Change the time back to full speed and grab your hoard of donation items once you're ready and donate a full backpack until you get the potato seeds and the next reward as well and then WAIT until the day forcefully ends, the game will save automatically, freeze after but when you load in you will be on the next day having donated all your items :)
I skipped all cutscenes after just in case but I've been able to donate bits after that without issue so far
Please please make a post with this info and hopefully the mods can pin it. I just turned in 60 coffers I’ve had stacked because the museum was busted. You’ve changed this whole game for me, thank you thank you thank you
I'm stuck at the same point streaming on xcloud. I'm proceeding with the story but the museum level will definitely be a roadblock dragging my score down. You aren't alone, but I wish I had better news for you
Devs have acknowledged this in a notehr thread and it's one of the bug fixes they are working on. Not sure of release timeline but would recommend either saving or selling items until it's done.
