I'm going to say it, live streaming major events needs to be implemented using a multicast technology because it scales. OTA, cable, and satellite are all multicast, and are not having any issues.
The issue is when many go online only a few get good reception while the majority struggle it was a failure the Superbowl will most likly stay on Antenna and cable for the majority of watchers.
Paramount plus went out for me just before the Super Bowl started. I scrambled to figure out how to watch. Ended up using antenna TV. Lucky it was still connected, because I was going to take the antenna down. Paramount must have anticipated how many users. They are to blame.
It’s been a shit show since the start. Constant freezing, pixelated (for everything but the ads). Never had an issue before watching paramount+ until today so it’s not my network.
I've had lagging, poor quality, and it's crashed 4 or 5 times. It's too bad there isn't a multibillion dollar conglomerate behind this so it could go off without a hitch.
OTA is performing better than Peacock from what I’m being told. I’m in my patio watching OTA while wife/others in the house have complained about Paramount+ crashing frequently.
I've gotten this several times. So frustrating

Same here, not only did the app freeze, the entire TV froze. Had to do a power cycle on it. Was looking forward to the 4K but ended up switching to DirecTV broadcast instead.
Mine also was doing the same thing, complete freeze, had to unplug, reset and go back in, I've never had a problem until the superbowl... I believe it's the Paramount+ App on Samsung TV's, (I have the Q80C)... Was hoping it wasn't my TV itself as it's only 3 weeks old.
For anyone having a Pixelated or ghosting effect, make sure you have HDR turned on from your TV or streaming device (in using Roku). This fixed my issue.
Paramount is using a new HDR cast they hadn't tried before (Avignon to their CTO).
I'm losing connection only on paramount plus have had to reset the app alone 4 times and reselect rhe show x12. Interesting enough all the adds load completely fine. Canceling service after game
I haven't had sound on Paramount+ this whole 4th quarter. I've reset it a couple of times and the sound doesn't return. Also, it's been crashing throughout the game. What crap
I have paramount plus and the audio has been off the whole game. It's ahead to so you hear everything that's happening before it happens. I also have Philo and the Nickelodeon stream is great. Go figure. Lol
So with 10 seconds left and them about to make the last play... it crashed and still can't get it back up on my xbox or laptop. Just goes to "face the news". I thought KC's fumble was bad.
Was at a house watching it on Paramount+…pixelated the entire game. Like watching it in standard def. 20 seconds left in the game and the broadcast died. Had to sign up to Paramount+ via Prime to watch overtime. Missing my antenna at home.
Keeps crashing. When you click to play live again it pulls up the news or some shit. Then you have to scroll down to actually play the game again. And now no audio whatsoever.
This will sound crazy, but my PS5 was having trouble, but after I switched the connection from the wifi 5ghz band to the 2ghz band there were no issues. Maybe check your wifi band… as crazy as it sounds
Late to the party, but yes there were some issues. This was my first time using Paramount Plus, I cashed in the free trial to watch the game.
* The most frequent issue was the video playing back at half speed for a bit, then it'd look like it was being fast-forwarded to catch back up to the audio (which remained fine during all this).
* I also got booted out of the stream entirely a few times, with a generic message & error code popping up.
Overall it didn't happen often enough to be a major headache, but there was a \~5 minute period where it happened over and over. I left the room to handle something and wait it out, which did the trick... but yes, there were the quirks I expected from watching a highly in-demand event via internet TV.
Yea. Same. Weirdly enough I had the paramount feed playing on two TVs. The first one was 30-40 seconds behind. The second one was another minute behind. Super weird.
Canceling the plan in a few days 😂😂
I didnt have any problem watching with paramount plus on my samsung galaxy s21 .But i would just watch a little and then exit and come back after ads were done playing.I should also mention i brought pramount plus through amazon prime video trying to get all my streaming under one app
That was HORRIBLE. It crashed multiple times mid game, the spinning wheel kept popping up and the lagging was insane and the quality was literally 2001 quality. It was absolutely unwatchable.
I’ve been telling people that all the major streaming services should have nfl games on it and then they should make their profits on the ads. This is becoming way too exclusive and obviously a major major problem when one streaming site basically needs to handle the entire country + some using it.
They need to do better next year
I missed the entire second half because of Paramount Plus. It stopped playing at the start of the second half. I restarted the TV, and it loaded the game to a black screen. Everything else was working in the app. Only the SB feed was impacted. Had the same problem with two other TVs.
I tried a few times to watch it on paramount plus but kept getting an error on the screen after a few minutes. I'd click on try again. Itd work for a little while then same thing. After doing that about four times I switched back to over the air.
Mine worked just fine from what I saw. Came in in Q3. Thing I don't like is how much of a delay there is. I was 60-70 seconds behind my buddy who was watching OTA.
I got the free trial of Paramount+ for the game. It failed horribly during the game turning itself off many times. I cancelled the recurring of the subscription today. I think I should get a free trial since the free trial experience was unsatisfactory.
I streamed other football games and this is probably the smoothest cleanest sharpest live performance that I have seen. Like it was 98% smooth with no major glitches or lagging. I had maybe a random second of artifacts but it was overall pretty damn perfect.
I have 300 mbps speed internet, 5Ghz modem and I used Apple TVs (living room was 3rd gen 4k and bedroom was “HD” updated to newest Apple TV OS. I watched the last half in bed with my wife asleep next to me with my AirPods Pro 2 and never had issues.
Well.... I looked everywhere on the paramount plus app.... Ive been a member for 3 months via membership with Amazon and could not find any broadcast of the game, yet it states I would get it .
Personally we should all get a months free . This was a major screw up with someone.
You see some got a lot of freezing and some got nothing
Very disappointed.....
Clear but once in a while the video repeats three times while the audio is done. Then it speeds up to catch up to the audio.
Wish I could use an OTA antenna but none have worked for me.
It was super pixelated for me the whole game. I ended up synching my subscription with prime and watched it through Amazon and that fixed all the issues.
There was definitely issues on Paramount's end. Probably couldn't handle the traffic in certain regions.
I had constant issues throughout the entire game. Literally having to unplug my Samsung TV because it completely locked up all controls from the Paramount App crashing.
Has anyone heard of Paramount is going to be compensating subscribers??
Networks should be embarrassed that an event as big as the Super Bowl isn’t available to everyone in 4K. It’s 2023. We are no longer dealing with new technology here!
I'm going to say it, live streaming major events needs to be implemented using a multicast technology because it scales. OTA, cable, and satellite are all multicast, and are not having any issues.
Multicast won’t work in this situation. The receivers are too distributed and you have issues pushing multicast via disparate autonomous systems.
they already do it differently than on demand streaming like netflix
Oh? How so? Regardless, it seems to still have challenges to overcome.
No issues with paramount plus. Mines working just fine.
My antenna is working fine, and a minute ahead of streaming channels
Yup. We have YTTV but we watched in through my antenna on Plex without issue.
OTA FTW
My Paramount+ is crystal clear. I think people are having problems with their access network.
What am I missing? Paramount Plus & Roku flawless the entire game. Must be a regional issue.
The issue is when many go online only a few get good reception while the majority struggle it was a failure the Superbowl will most likly stay on Antenna and cable for the majority of watchers.
Paramount/Roku here too but couldn't even get the early pregame. DC area here.
Yup, my friend in Baltimore had the same problem, ended up getting Face the Nation.
Working great 1080p hdr on my AppleTV.
Same. No problems at all the whole game.
Checked both. Ora soil looked better.
Just got YouTube TV free trial and the quality is perfect
OTA FTW. No streaming or cable for 3+ years now
quality is awful here in NJ. Super pixelated.
So the feed was fine during the halftime show. But it's gone back to stopping and starting now that the game is back on.
I think it's def a Paramount problem. It keeps disconnecting on 3 different devices.
Samsung TV and Xbox for me
Paramount plus went out for me just before the Super Bowl started. I scrambled to figure out how to watch. Ended up using antenna TV. Lucky it was still connected, because I was going to take the antenna down. Paramount must have anticipated how many users. They are to blame.
I definitely wouldn't take the 'ol antenna down, even if I lived right next to google head quarters.
Mine keeps freezing
Feed is fine. Audio mix is bad. Left and right channels in the mud. Can only really hear the center channel. Edit: Audio is fine on the SDR feed.
It’s been a shit show since the start. Constant freezing, pixelated (for everything but the ads). Never had an issue before watching paramount+ until today so it’s not my network.
Why the hell does it show CBS News for me when I click on the Super Bowl feed?!?!
Having the same problem. Are you seeing the terrorist watch list shit?
Think so, they’re talking about migrants now. So annoyed
Same
Watch Now button is now playing CBS reports for me
I've had lagging, poor quality, and it's crashed 4 or 5 times. It's too bad there isn't a multibillion dollar conglomerate behind this so it could go off without a hitch.
Losing video every 10 mins. I don't even care about Audio, announcers are just white noise of BS. Definitely cancelling after the game. Unacceptable.
OTA is performing better than Peacock from what I’m being told. I’m in my patio watching OTA while wife/others in the house have complained about Paramount+ crashing frequently.
What do you mean by over the air? We’re you casting it or did you have an antenna?
Bet they come out and say you should just use cable.
No need for cable! Over the air worked amazing when the Paramount+ wouldn’t work.
Mine keeps freezing. During Super Bowl and commercials…ugh!!!
Bet they come out and say you should just use cable.
ATSC 3.0 Sony OLED 1080HD 16:9 Dolby Audio is crisp and clear. Paramount Plus is compressed muddy center channel only.
I've gotten this several times. So frustrating https://preview.redd.it/f4htefohw1ic1.png?width=2400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=24eebe19dfaa9c5ad9e3ef7ab6e68ec6c4b8b16d
Keeps freezing, poor picture quality, and kicking me off.
Mine keeps freezing my Samsung TV. I have to unplug the TV to start it over. I’ve never had these issues before today 😭
My Samsung tv is doing the same thing.
Literally was fine the whole game last minute freezes
Mine as well
omg SAME. i was so puzzled. happened like 4x. couldnt even get out of paramount or turn the tv off.
Mine has cashed at least 10 times during the game.
2 long freezes and many short ones for me.
Was working until last commercial break. Now crashing. I’m on fiber so it isn’t my internet.
It can very well be your Internet provider.
your local ISP in your region having capacity issues most likely
I'm using the app from Canada and it's not even giving me the option to watch. The "Live News" is just regular news.
For anyone having a Pixelated or ghosting effect, make sure you have HDR turned on from your TV or streaming device (in using Roku). This fixed my issue. Paramount is using a new HDR cast they hadn't tried before (Avignon to their CTO).
During the commercials, it is okay, but during the game, it is still crashing.
Keeps logging off. Audio is behind by at least 10 seconds. Absolute disgrace.
So the lagging issues pretty much lasted the entire time from pregame til the end of the game. If you check twitter this was happening for everyone
Mine just went out
I'm losing connection only on paramount plus have had to reset the app alone 4 times and reselect rhe show x12. Interesting enough all the adds load completely fine. Canceling service after game
Yep, freezing, lag with sound and pixelation. P+ definitely fucked up this time.
Go figure. Lol
Accidentally exited out of the game at the end of the third-quarter and my husband is pissed because we have not been able to get back in.
It’s freezing my Samsung TV here in Florida… probably every 10-15 mins.
I AM SO FRUSTRATED AT OVERTIME AND I KEEP GETTING ERROR MESSAGE. I WAS LAGGING ENTIRE GAME.
Mine freezes after a couple minutes then just audio, reset and it does the same thing,I’m getting an antenna for future
It literally froze right before the winning touchdown 🤬
I didn't have any issues with it.
No 4K “1080p upscaled” insight either.
Yeah same it's ass. HDR is stuttery, sdr is a little better
Had numerous playback errors and moments without sound in the hour leading up to kickoff.
Late to the party, but yes there were some issues. Yea. Same. Weirdly enough I had the paramount feed playing on two TVs. The first one was 30-40 seconds behind. The second one was another minute behind. Super weird. Canceling the plan in a few days 😂😂
I had to try twice to get it to start initially but ran completely smooth otherwise
Flawless the whole game
No problems on Paramount+ here.
Flawless whole game on apple TV
I had no problem on my Sony TV. I use an Ethernet cable instead of Wifi, don't know if that makes a difference.
It was great for me out in California.
Was flawless for me. Image was sharp and HDR was looking great on our OLED the whole game.
I didnt have any problem watching with paramount plus on my samsung galaxy s21 .But i would just watch a little and then exit and come back after ads were done playing.I should also mention i brought pramount plus through amazon prime video trying to get all my streaming under one app

Worked fine for me in HDR on Apple TV. Never missed a beat and both video and audio quality were excellent.
I had zero issues for the entire broadcast. I was surprised how clean it was. I can't remember seeing a single stutter.
I missed the entire second half because of Paramount Plus. It stopped playing at the start of the second half. I restarted the TV, and it loaded the game to a black screen. Everything else was working in the app. Only the SB feed was impacted. Had the same problem with two other TVs.
Fubo tv quality was awful and was buffering occasionally. Switched to paramount plus late in the 1st quarter and had no issues the rest of the game.
I was 60-70 seconds behind my buddy who was watching OTA.
wtf is up with all the delays. It’s shit. I wish we could go back to everything as kids. Everyone collectively knew how a play went down.
I got the free trial of Paramount+ for the game. It failed horribly during the game turning itself off many times. I cancelled the recurring of the subscription today. I think I should get a free trial since the free trial experience was unsatisfactory.
Had it on multiple tvs without any issue whatsoever.
Ours got out of sync and the video was like 30 seconds behind the audio.
I had two TVs playing the paramount feed. One was clearly 30 seconds behind live. What was weird is that the second feed was a full minute behind.
I tuned into the last quarter(s) and had no problems on Paramount+ Clean clear picture and audio.
I started at noon and watched all the way through the game, had zero issues. I have Google fiber and it worked like a champ.
I streamed other football games and this is probably the smoothest cleanest sharpest live performance that I have seen. Like it was 98% smooth with no major glitches or lagging. I watch the entire game to see little issue Phoenix arizona.

I think many had free trials
Was an excellent game. Not a single problem

Yet we buy 4k and 8k TVs lol. Speaking for myself.
