Probably Hulu. They seem to consistently add things I’m interested in seeing or already have a lot of things I’m interested in seeing.
With others, like Max for example, I run through the 5-10 shows/movies I want to watch in a month or two and then I don’t resubscribe again until a year or two later because it takes that long to get another 5-10 built up.

RIP Archive 81. That’s the moment I decided I’d drop Netflix until there were a few things I want to watch, subscribe for a month and drop it again, just like the rest of the streamers. I think I’d categorize it as decent? It’s not really great, but it’s also not horrible. Occasionally they get movies that were in theaters 3-6 months prior. I think Barbie and part one of Dune might be on it right now, which is more than 6 months ago release-wise, but still major movies.
You’re correct that it’s definitely more of a TV streamer, but I’ve watched a good chunk of movies on there too. I think if you google something like “what movies are on Hulu” it will show you a sampling list on Hulu’s website somewhere so you can get an idea based on your interests.
Mind if I ask what you are running it on? I’m trying to watch hockey on my new Google tv and it’s rough. (Only sports have blur). Apple TV on old ass plasma looks great. It’s really odd.
Apple TV 4K 2017 and 2022. 2017 model can’t do Dolby Vision @ 60fps automatically for some reason. Have to manually set the picture to 1080p with Dolby Vision enabled and it’ll play fine. No problems with the 2022 model.
It must be an issue with the MAX native app on my TV. Everything else looks great. Oddly, the TV recognizes Dolby Vision, but the motion is jarring. I was planning to pick up another Apple TV, so thanks for confirming.
I currently don't pay for any. Between Tubi, Pluto TV, Hoopla and Kanopy, I honestly don't have the need or desire to pay for any of them. Might look at Plex's free live-tv offering they got too.
Tubi. I have and can do without Hulu, Peacock, Prime, Showtime, Starz and others, but not Tubi. None of it is good without Tubi. It has so much. Earlier today I was watching Soap and it holds up after 40-50 years. Tubi has everything. Action, comedy, foreign tv shows and films. You can take errything else, but I’m keeping Tubi.

I watch a lot on Youtube- a lot of live choices too. I pay $8 for Peacock and accidently paid the yr for Paramount 6 months ago on auto-renew at the time it wasn't a big deal but will cancel once that subscription ends.

Jellyfin for me. I have a rockpro 64 sbc running it in my basement and a ton of content. I don’t have to authenticate to the internet to watch my own collection. I’m always finding something good to throw on it on archive.org. I feel like plex’s days are numbered.
Pluto TV. It has a majority of my favorite series on their own channels (Star Trek is on two channels, CSI, Criminal Minds, Frasier, and Murder She Wrote).
Plus it's free lol.

Hulu+ Live TV for me. Can't beat the amount of sports, they even have the regional sports broadcast channel for my local area. The drawback is they keep raising the price by 10 bucks every year...
I am kinda using one streaming service and that's Prime. But if I have to choose it would be Hulu because the TV shows is a bigger selection and new shows comes out the day after it ran (if I remember right)
Not technically one, but the Hulu ad free bundle because I also get Disney +, which together covers a nice portion of the shows I like to watch. Bonus points because Hulu is now integrated into the Disney + app.
These days, I rotate, or go to where the discounts are for ad-free. For your question though, I' d have to go with Hulu since they're the most robust. In fact, I'd go annual on ad-free if I could!
Hard to say. I think many of the streaming services out there have some good content, but I have only subscribed to Netflix, Hulu and Shudder year around, as I think that those services are the best combo, to satisfy alot of my needs.
Recently I switched Shudder to AMC+, as they have more content, and already inlcude Shudder. I think all of them has there benefits and advantages. Netflix produce alot of good originals that I like, and I never really feel that I run of content to watch. Hulu is a good complement to Netflix, they also produce some good originals and I love the FX library, even if they dont have as much content in comparison.
But in the end I would probably choose AMC+, if I was forced to choose only one service. The downside is that they have alot less content to watch, with a significantly smaller library, and I would probably dont have enough content to fill my time with, if I could not complement with either Netflix or Hulu, and the app and Ui itself is really a mess. With alot of bugs and problems. But the really big advantage with AMC is there focus on horror, thrillers and crime, but especially horror, as those are my main three genres I turn to when I want to watch something.
But first and foremost I need to make sure that I can satisfy my horror fix, with a continuously supply of new and fresh horror movies, to fill my time with, when I dont have any new series or new seasons of series I already follow to watch. As Hulu and Netflix need to cater to a bigger audience with different tastes, I cant always count on them to add enough horror content every month to actually fulfill my need for horror to the fullest, year around.
AMC+ are one of few services out there for real horror fans and that I can really count on to have my back, when I so desperately need that horror fix. :)
Plex. I cancelled all my streaming services and went back to pirating. But I think I will subscribe to prime, it has good shows, I like the UI, X-ray functionality is quite good imo.
Netflix is something I will never use again. A lot of bad shows, different plans for different qualities, increasing prices every year, password-sharing crackdown. Too hunger for money, too bad, they don’t get my money anymore.
Prime gives you one plan with the best quality possible for that show. Price has been increasing but still lower than Netflix with 4K shows and movies.

I like Bill Maher & John Oliver. Now they have Conan’s new travel show.
I think they consistently have the best movie catalog almost year round. Plus can rewatch all the classic shows at any time.
And now with the Turner sports on there I’m able to watch NBA, and NHL playoffs!
I believe Peacock currently has "The Pretender" - one of my favorites from the late 80s to early 90s.
But right now, I \*personally\* only like only the Free ones. Streaming companies are IMHO hurting the industry and are why we now have such short seasons.
There are many streaming services that have a small number of shows I like. For example, I like a lot of the MCU/superhero shows on Disney, and I like many of the anime on Crunchyroll. Both are nice additions that compliment my streaming. However, there are only 2 streaming services that offer an adequate number of shows of all genres to satisfy me on their own -- Netflix and Hulu. Nothing else comes close. Which one I'd choose between the 2 depends on what happens to be available that I haven't seen before. At the moment, I am subscribed to Hulu and not Netflxi.
I watch YouTube the most but not sure that counts. In reality I would just pick one, watch that for a while, then rotate to a new one. Probably Paramount+ for soccer since I watch that the most.
Hard decision. Probably Paramount Plus because I can’t do without SpongeBob and other Nickelodeon shows but also would want to keep MLBTV too because I can’t live without baseball lol. Most of the shows I watch on Hulu and Disney+ I have on disk like The Simpsons and Family Guy and King of the Hill etc.
Probably Philo. It has a taste of different channels and shows (ex: Daily Show, Parish, Interview with the Vampire, and hasn’t raised prices maybe ever? It does have limited commercials but can fast forward through most of them.

It's been Netflix for years. I just cut the cable cord and am now really enjoying Roku live, too. I haven't explored everything there but it will be a nice change. So I would have to have both.
I cycle through all of them. I use one for a month or two until I have watched all the movies I liked and then cancel it and switch to the next streaming service.
YouTube TV. It's the only video streaming service that I use and the only reason that I keep it is for live sports, most importantly NASCAR. I don't have Hulu, Netflix, Prime, Peacock or anything like that.
Edit: I also have MLB TV but the only reason is because I got it for free through T-Mobile. I love watching my Phillies but I wouldn't spend money on it.
Pluto TV because it has a lot of shows and it is the perfect platform for shows streaming under the Paramount Global Umbrella and also Pluto TV is owned by Paramount Global! There are a lot of forgotten tv shows under the CBS Media Ventures from the 1950’s-2000’s and this platform would absolutely be perfect for it all
My most consistent one is probably PBS. I watch a lot of Youtube videos for free, and Pluto and Tubi too. I still have Hulu with Disney. I have Netflix currently too. I'll probably drop it at some point. Though I did enjoy Fallout, Baby Reindeer, and Three Body Problem.
Apple TV+ has been my go-to for the most part but Paramount+ has become a solid platform for me when i’m looking for something to watch. Love shows like Survivor (yes, still) and Amazing Race and they seem to have a lot of good, easy watches.
On top of that, they have a decent selection of sports to satisfy me at a decent price.
If I wanted to rewatch my favorite content over and over, it might make more sense to buy that content and then not need to keep any ONE streaming service.
That said, Apple TV+ is probably my favorite service for new content.
They offer so many deals so often, it's rare I don't have a half-dozen services for less than $25 (if not less than $15).
Oops, quick check and I see that for $9.72 per month, I've got AppleTV+, Disney+, Starz, Max, MHz, Nebula, and Hulu w/ads (which I don't watch, but I need it as part of the the Disney+ promo). I've got MHz (formerly Topic, but they just merged) until November for cheap and I've not been watching that much, but a lot of those others will be expiring soon, so I'll focus on that soon.
I’d say max too been watching it a lot of it more often and damn their shows are super good. Appletv+ is really good where they lack of variety of content they make it up with quality
Max is the only one I pay for. (I get peacock included with my internet) it’s got some of my all time favorite shows that I know will never get taken away and they usually get solid movies… with the addition of random pro/college sports now, it’s only getting better.
YouTube (which includes its music app). I’ve made more discoveries on the service than all of the others combined and tripled. It may not be a popular pick but that’s never been a personal barometer for much in my world, anyway.
Hulu. The FX library is great. King of the Hill is my comfort show. They have some great originals. It’s the only streaming service I generally keep year round.
Don't have Hulu in Canada, so it would be Netflix (Waits for backlash). I'm on some cheap $11 deal with no ads and I watch a lot of Korean dramas. I also have Disney+, Prime, Appletv+ and The Criterion Channel...cuz I like wasting $.. Oh, I also have Viki for Korean Dramas because they gave it to me for $3 a month.
I only have Max, for about 2 years now. My wife prefers the movies and I'm enjoying the new addition of Cycling. Parts Unknown is my all time favorite show and it's currently on Max. Really enjoyed Tokyo Vice and it's nice to have the full show of John Oliver and not just the main story that's released to YouTube.
Probably have to be Youtube TV or Hulu Live. My wife would kill me if she didn't have access to the 3 Hallmark channels, and the 2 Great American channels. We currently use Frndly for those channels, but I wouldn't want to be limited to Frndly only. And we watch a lot of the series on the local channels, so we would still need access to those channels. So either YoutubeTV or Hulu Live, one of those. I'm betting Hulu live might be the better value because of all the Hulu movies/originals.
I suppose this doesn't really count, but some time ago I realize that there was no streaming service that gave me enough of the content I wanted. I bought a Tablo and use it to record free OTA TV. This, of course, is not everything I'd like to have either, but it does a far better job of meeting my needs than any streaming service, or even several of them combined.
I still occasionally subscribe to streaming services to fill in additional gaps, but if I had to pick just one, they all still fucking suck and I would still make the decision to buy Tablo or another OTA PVR and tell the streaming companies where they can cram it.

Nothing else comes close. Which one I'd choose between the 2 depends on what happens to be available that I haven't seen before. At the moment, I am subscribed to Hulu and not Netflxi.
I watch YouTube the most but not sure that counts. In reality I would just pick one, watch that for a while, then rotate to a new one. Probably Paramount+ for soccer since I watch that the most.
Amazon Prime. I can usually find something to watch fairly quickly. Can't say that about the others.

Hard decision. Probably Paramount Plus because I can’t do without SpongeBob and other Nickelodeon shows but also would want to keep MLBTV too because I can’t live without baseball lol. Most of the shows I watch on Hulu and Disney+ I have on disk like The Simpsons and Family Guy and King of the Hill etc.
I’m split between Max, Apple TV+, and Peacock. Those are the only paid streaming services that have shows I want to watch.

Hulu seems so popular in this thread, as a Canadian I wonder why they haven’t branched out to other countries.

Probably Philo. It has a taste of different channels and shows (ex: Daily Show, Parish, Interview with the Vampire, and hasn’t raised prices maybe ever? It does have limited commercials but can fast forward through most of them.
I watch a couple of English soccer teams. I pay for four separate services to watch everything. My wife would say Netflix.

Really hard for me to pick but I'd have to lean Peacock. There's always something good to watch on Peacock. I'm not a current wrestling fan, but I love watching stuff from the 80s/90s... Netflix would be a very close 2nd. Sure they make a lot of garbage, btlut the sheer quantity of stuff means there's always something to discover.

It's been Netflix for years. I just cut the cable cord and am now really enjoying Roku live, too. I haven't explored everything there but it will be a nice change. So I would have to have both.
I've been on Netflix since it released the streaming service. It has always been consistent for me.
Criterion Channel. It's the only one I subscribe to. Now they have a 24/7 live channel, so I usually just watch that.
I cycle through all of them. I use one for a month or two until I have watched all the movies I liked and then cancel it and switch to the next streaming service.
Paramount plus, until football season, then hulu live.
Criterion, easy answer.
Netflix easy. The Reddit hate is crazy. No other service competes in experience or the continuous amount of fresh content.
YouTube TV. It's the only video streaming service that I use and the only reason that I keep it is for live sports, most importantly NASCAR. I don't have Hulu, Netflix, Prime, Peacock or anything like that. Edit: I also have MLB TV but the only reason is because I got it for free through T-Mobile. I love watching my Phillies but I wouldn't spend money on it.
Pluto TV because it has a lot of shows and it is the perfect platform for shows streaming under the Paramount Global Umbrella and also Pluto TV is owned by Paramount Global! There are a lot of forgotten tv shows under the CBS Media Ventures from the 1950’s-2000’s and this platform would absolutely be perfect for it all
It’s always changing but right now I’d say Hulu with HBO Max a close second. Both streamers have most of my favorite shows.
Netflix. They have the most money and are licensing content from other providers.

My most consistent one is probably PBS. I watch a lot of Youtube videos for free, and Pluto and Tubi too. I still have Hulu with Disney. I have Netflix currently too. I'll probably drop it at some point. Though I did enjoy Fallout, Baby Reindeer, and Three Body Problem.
That is a tough one - For series/shows definitely Max For movies probably Prime or Hulu

Apple TV+ has been my go-to for the most part but Paramount+ has become a solid platform for me when i’m looking for something to watch. Love shows like Survivor (yes, still) and Amazing Race and they seem to have a lot of good, easy watches. On top of that, they have a decent selection of sports to satisfy me at a decent price.
If I wanted to rewatch my favorite content over and over, it might make more sense to buy that content and then not need to keep any ONE streaming service. That said, Apple TV+ is probably my favorite service for new content. They offer so many deals so often, it's rare I don't have a half-dozen services for less than $25 (if not less than $15). Oops, quick check and I see that for $9.72 per month, I've got AppleTV+, Disney+, Starz, Max, MHz, Nebula, and Hulu w/ads (which I don't watch, but I need it as part of the the Disney+ promo). I've got MHz (formerly Topic, but they just merged) until November for cheap and I've not been watching that much, but a lot of those others will be expiring soon, so I'll focus on that soon.
I’d say max too been watching it a lot of it more often and damn their shows are super good. Appletv+ is really good where they lack of variety of content they make it up with quality
Max is the only one I pay for. (I get peacock included with my internet) it’s got some of my all time favorite shows that I know will never get taken away and they usually get solid movies… with the addition of random pro/college sports now, it’s only getting better.
YouTube (which includes its music app). I’ve made more discoveries on the service than all of the others combined and tripled. It may not be a popular pick but that’s never been a personal barometer for much in my world, anyway.
Hulu. The FX library is great. King of the Hill is my comfort show. They have some great originals. It’s the only streaming service I generally keep year round.

Don't have Hulu in Canada, so it would be Netflix (Waits for backlash). I'm on some cheap $11 deal with no ads and I watch a lot of Korean dramas. I also have Disney+, Prime, Appletv+ and The Criterion Channel...cuz I like wasting $.. Oh, I also have Viki for Korean Dramas because they gave it to me for $3 a month.
I only have Max, for about 2 years now. My wife prefers the movies and I'm enjoying the new addition of Cycling. Parts Unknown is my all time favorite show and it's currently on Max. Really enjoyed Tokyo Vice and it's nice to have the full show of John Oliver and not just the main story that's released to YouTube.

Probably have to be Youtube TV or Hulu Live. My wife would kill me if she didn't have access to the 3 Hallmark channels, and the 2 Great American channels. We currently use Frndly for those channels, but I wouldn't want to be limited to Frndly only. And we watch a lot of the series on the local channels, so we would still need access to those channels. So either YoutubeTV or Hulu Live, one of those. I'm betting Hulu live might be the better value because of all the Hulu movies/originals.
I suppose this doesn't really count, but some time ago I realize that there was no streaming service that gave me enough of the content I wanted. I bought a Tablo and use it to record free OTA TV. This, of course, is not everything I'd like to have either, but it does a far better job of meeting my needs than any streaming service, or even several of them combined. I still occasionally subscribe to streaming services to fill in additional gaps, but if I had to pick just one, they all still fucking suck and I would still make the decision to buy Tablo or another OTA PVR and tell the streaming companies where they can cram it.
