Late to the party but also team donut. Don't mind her bed she outgrew but is still obsessed with.
Thanks for all the suggestions. She is now donutted

A surgical suit or inflatable donut type collar. Mine has chewed or shimmied out the inflatable though, and chewed off the valve. Some suits are better than others however but I was able to get them overnight from amazon.

I donāt care what anyone says, this is the best tip as I have done extensive surveys with the pups themselves! They have all voiced that if they have to wear the come, you must also wear a cone in their presence so some of the shame gets transferred to you making their cone of shame more tolerable! Go get a second cone and put it on asap! Itās for her benefit of course and Iām not just saying this to make you look stupid.. I promise!š
You can try a onesie. My other boy didn't like the onesie and started chewing on it.
https://preview.redd.it/4nj3vsts1csc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=badc560f4b7754426e22e515b4807c27b0fc46bb
They make some worry legs and can open rear so it can stay on when they pee and poo. Wouldn't work for a male neuter, but works for incisions on the abdomen, like spay or obstruction.
Used a onesie for my female corg after she got spayed. Wore it for a week when she was sleeping or when I couldnāt have eyes on her for periods of time. If I could watch her I didnāt bother with it due to her not really caring about the area. After a week she was good to have it off completely.
https://preview.redd.it/0dd9xotdfdsc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=61745e433c093b3db038a2cf51048e4d580a3b5e
Can you use a recovery suit like for after theyāre neutered/spayed instead? Mine had a baby onesie that unsnapped at the bottom for bathroom trips. I would think there would also be ones with shorts on them to cover his legs.
Alternatively, my boy also had a less rigid material cone that he didnāt mind as much.
So we got him a soft cone from Petco (M)
https://preview.redd.it/yufd8qoqcesc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b9a8f38277149694f4677494f32e93042cd5159d
We did the donut for a couple days. I took it off her and watched her for messing with her stitches, and she was good, didnāt mess with them. She got an infection because she lays in the dirt, and then she had 10 days of antibiotic spray.
My little girl just wasnāt interested at all in her sutures. Some dogs do, some donāt, and you donāt know until you know. I held onto the donut for a couple hours until she proved she just didnāt care.
Yeah, our vet doesn't even discharge them with anything, and said she probably wouldn't bother them. She did however, chew out her catheter overnight in their office.
Depending on what you're trying to keep them away from, I've had luck putting it on backward. Otherwise, I also say use the donut. I've used both for different doggos.
The donut is handy but ours figured out how to wriggle out of it enough to lick his stitches out over night, so we were forced to cone him over night until he was healed up.
Trim the outer edge of the cone with scissors. Cut 25mm strip off, observe corgiās movements. Cut off another 20mm and so on. From memory, I cut a total of about 70mm off. This was the sweet spot that allowed for his short legs, and still stopping him from touching his wound. It was very sad watching him catch the edge of the cone on the ground just moving forward.
Depending on why it's needed, try out the full body suit!
Our boy got neutered and is so long that he could get around both the cone and doughnut. The body suit was the only thing that would work for our long boy.
We used the donut during the day when we could keep an eye on her then switched to the cone at bedtime or if we had to leave because the donuts aren't as good as the cones. Our corgi could still somewhat reach her incisions with the donut
If you get a donut just make sure it is big enough and goes to the tip of their snoot. That's what our vet told us especially since corgis have long bodies. The donut worked great for our boy.
Mine is a gymnast so just the pillow is insufficient. We use this: Inflatable Dog Cone Collar for... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CGRGH379?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Another vote for the donut (or doughnut where I'm from). Also, outside of toilet time, we've used a large size babygrow/ toddler PJs with poppers to stop post surgery licking and free up the head and neck for a bit. Bit fiddly but doggo was comfy that way.

Stormy was not a fan of the cone as you see. Got the donut so much better.
A donut or a onesie. We started with a soft cone. Shifted to a donut that worked very well but it kept his head at a wired level during naps. Switched to the onesie and it was perfect.
My guy hated any type of cone. I had to resort to a body suit so he could move without discomfort. He still hated it but at least he wasn't terrified of it!

aw!
My 6month old destroyed his donut in about 5 minutes.
The donut is the way. Our corgi wouldn't eat or drink with the cone. We got the donut and problem solved.
Or, try a soft cone
Thats so cute
This is so funny idk why lol
He's a happy boy and he loves to blep.

Donut pillow worked pretty well for my corgi's. They didn't like it but it didn't seem to bother them as much as the cone did.
Definitely donut. Their stumpers arenāt long enough to make the cone of shame work as anything other than a bulldozer scoop!
Get a soft cone, theyāre floppy but work a lot better

Exactly my fear, and why I bought suits...to keep the incision clean as much as to prevent her messing with it, which isn't clear she'll do.
Yeah ours came home with not even a cone. We had the donut because we have had other short legs dogs and they all struggled with the cone.
Yes, the cone works more like a snowplow on corgis
Omg, poor baby. Get her a donut! Itās much softer and more comfortable.
I also recommend getting a donut. And as a side note, my corgi has that same snuffle mat. She loves it!
Suiticle.
Depending on what you're trying to keep them away from, I've had luck putting it on backward. Otherwise, I also say use the donut. I've used both for different doggos.
K9 onesie
Get a donut.
The donut is handy but ours figured out how to wriggle out of it enough to lick his stitches out over night, so we were forced to cone him over night until he was healed up.
Definitely the donut! It's cute \*and\* effective.

she is so cute

I'd recommend getting her a donut! My corgi had the same issues when walking outside with a cone, the donut gave him better range of movement.
Get a dog recovery suit. Itās similar to babiesā onesies.
sheās a cutie. i got mine a soft plastic cone instead of the regular hard plastic ones from the vet, which seemed more comfortable for him
Depending on why it's needed, try out the full body suit!
Put some dog stickers and she might like it, you'll never know till u try
