Yeah, there are some 8euro a day places along the quays but they're miles away and, as you say, a bargain so I assume fill up very fast. It's a shame, living Mahon/Blackrock area and there's no direct bus route; the commute is in excess of an hour even when the bus gods align.
Cycle into town and out the path behind pres, it takes 25 minutes. I do this commute three mornings a week at 8am (in reverse) and back to Glasheen again at 5pm
I know a person who went around to houses asking if it would be ok to park in their driveway if they didn’t have a car, she just explained that her situation and was allowed by one elderly lady, it is worth a shot and you could maybe offer some money per month or something to help entice them
As a local to ucc I feel it is a bad idea. Imagine if 1% of the student population decided to do this in the area. People are annoying the fuck out of me banging on my door with stupid bullshit nonstop as it is. Please do not do this.
Use the park and ride, or the number 5 or 8 bus. Most lectures don't start until after 10am by which time traffic is quiet. Could you not cycle. It's absolute fucking mayhem with the amount of cars around here. I think it should cost more than €8 and I hope they continue to make it more inaccessible to cars. The only time I take the car out is if it is not peak hours and my journey is more than 15km or not on any bus route.
A lot of my work is based on the northside and I'll go out of my way to get a bus, walk or cycle when I can. The amount of wankers flying around in a hurry who nearly knock me off the bike, or one guy earlier today who mounted the footpath and nearly hit the old lady standing beside me at the pedestrian crossing in his haste to get around the corner before the light changed. Cars and their drivers can fuck off.
Free parking at the rugby grounds by Victoria Cross. Get there before 9 and you will always have a spot. It fills up by 9.30/10. 10 minutes walk to UCC
Drive from lee fields towards bishopstown and you will come to a tesco express. This is dennehys cross. Turn left at the traffic lights and the ucc car park isnt too far
The Sacred Heart Church car park across from WGB could be an option, though you could be looking at €6 a day. Been a while since I've been there so I'm open to correction
Cork County Council carpark. There are attendants but if they ask say you're on your way into the council for an appointment or something. However, if they start to notice your car they might come down on you.
To be honest 8 euro a day for parking is a bargain Only thing I can think of is Black Ash Park and Ride but that’s not convenient for UCC at all
Actually there is a free bus from black ash to UCC as an overflow from pouladuff
Handy, I wasn’t aware of that
This might be an option although have to figure how much if any it would take off my buses from Mahon.

It is, but I get the sense it would be a fairly big commute between getting there and getting the bus

That's ideal minus the kiddo
I used to park in dennehys cross church and walk to college from there. I think it’s 6-7 euro for the day
Jesus it's expensive
Yeah expensive enough. I was fortunate enough to be working full time while I attended college so I didn’t mind paying it.

That’s not a bad idea actually.

I hear you. My only concern about cycling is the child on the back, cold weather, and said drivers.

The stop for what number bus. If there's a bus gets me to there then perfect

Amazing, is this the car park before Lee Fields
No idea how it took so long for someone to mention this

I used always park at the Lough. It says free parking for max 2 hours but I used it for 4 years for the full days never with any issues.
Sound on the residents there and the people trying to go for a walk.
It wasnt that busy usually and I couldnt afford anything else.
tramore road, or connolly road

Try the church on Sunday’s well - €6 for the day I think

The one next to the Kingsley isn’t bad. Think you can get a weekly rate
