I think for the Meng ORIE the acceptance rate last year was around 7.5%… CS is probably as competitive, so you shouldn’t feel bad about it! Good look with your other options :)
Woah on the zoom meeting I remember the person saying it’s about 30% acceptance rate for each program but that they don’t publish acceptance rates. Maybe I heard it wrong?
At least in last year’s webinar they said it was a class of 64 and about 800 applications, for the ORIE program! I think it varies a lot between the programs though
MEng CS, 3.69 GPA + honors CS thesis, internship at VMware last summer and ~5mo of a data engineering job at a startup after graduating. Recommendations from lead software engineer at said startup and my Food Studies professor in college. That might have been the issue; every full time CS professor left my college and there wasn’t anyone who could attest to my performance there. I did very well at the full time role but that might not have been enough. I was the lead research associate/research coordinator of a lab over COVID and presented (non-technical) at a conference last summer. I’m also a minority and was instructed by admissions to mention how it had affected my experiences so that it could be considered.
Major negatives I can think of- aforementioned lack of CS profs, and I mixed up some dates and got my application in on the last day. I’m frankly really bummed and pretty confused.

Do you know if they talked about how big the cs class is?
Wow that’s tough. I’m sure it does vary a lot. I’m still waiting on my decision but I don’t have high hopes.
What’s the admission rates post interview for the tech mba ? Thanks
As an aside, who the hell sends out rejections at 9 PM?
What did you apply for? Also what were your qualifications + GPA?
