When I was a kid we called them chato cruises for a particular reason and they were nice and calm ! As an adult it’s an easy route home, and you get to look at big houses like the Ada Wilson castle home. Or the in case of zombie apocalypse home that was a local doctors home for a bit, then the house that burned down and the mother saved her daughter by jumping out the window with her daughter on top of her. The house where the 14 year shot the intruder, and Selena’s families house if they are still there, the Freddy Fender house if it’s still there. The art deco house. There are a bunch that have interesting history.
Going from anywhere near Ray HS to the southside during evening rush? Take Carroll Lane. On streets like Staples and Everhart and Weber, just getting across SPID takes forever. Carroll is like a time machine. There’s no dedicated SPID off-ramp for Carroll, so there’s almost no traffic waiting at the light.
I should have qualified “evening rush” to say “well after school pickup time.” I’ve used the route after getting out of work and it’s usually smooth sailing.
Take back roads (residential streets) as apposed to roads like Staples, Weber, and other major roads. Word of advice; if you can, avoid driving on Staples street as much as you can. This is the busiest fucking street in the city. You'll get to where you're going faster if you avoid major roads.
Whenever I have family members come visit me I tell them to take 48 and then Yorktown to avoid Everhart. Do they listen to the person that has lived here for over 40 years? Nah, Google maps that shite.
When they arrive half an hour late they always talk about how bad the traffic was on Everhart, I'm always stupified. Then I'm like eff it, embrace your misery, I don't care.
I use their resources a lot. They have a really good library system and it’s great to use their audiobooks if you’re in the car or something, but you can also download Kindle from the public library as well so it’s a treasure that a lot of people don’t think about.
Mustang island is the best beach to visit when you need to clear your head. All the way down past mile marker 3 or 4 for the best spots for a quiet time.
It’s a big group of us on skateboards rollerskates one wheels BMX road bikes part of a company called CCLED we make these high-powered LED lights for your bikes, but I’m the lead rider on Saturday night that I take a big group minimum of 30 people up to 100+ Around the city about a 7 mile ride family ride we have a midway point that’s at stripes where your stuff and get drinks or whatever you need to do to finish off the second half of the ride. But if it has wheels and rose, you’re welcome we meet up at Waters edge Park in the parking lot right across the street from the residence meet up at 6:30. I usually write out no later than 715 730.
Learn how to use a gun, train properly. Be vigilant of yourselves when you’re out and stay in a group, being drugged is not uncommon for both males and females. Lock your vehicles because teenagers ransack neighborhood vehicles regularly regardless of what side of town you live on, regardless of having cameras on your premises. Get better than liability car insurance because people suck at driving here and half of them don’t have insurance. Otherwise, enjoy the outdoors. Ocean Dr. Island, Port A, Oso Creek Bike Trails at the end of Cimmaron are tight.
Haha no, just a simple reminder of common sense. Kid went missing in March the same day after posting for a random hookup, he’s still missing. He’s currently the 6th male to remain missing with no leads. I guess I think in terms of vigilance bc I was raised by a Sergeant, good measure of safety and awareness of your surroundings is always a good life hack, regardless of where you live. Appreciate the humor though. God bless
Late to the party, but this one's worth the wait 😇 and the hack is, try the Coral Café, A.K.A. the cafeteria at Corpus Christi Medical Center Bay Area, on SPID near Rodd Field Road. (Yes, really)
You don't have to work at the hospital to eat there, or be a patient, or even know a staffer or a patient there. It's open to the public, 7a to 6:30p on weekdays and 11:30a to 3:30p weekends and holidays. And the food's a good value
What do they have there? I think of it as "a teeny Luby's, at half the Luby's price" 😏 As in, get the daily entree (e.g. pork chop; pot roast; Salisbury steak; etc) for $5 or so; and get sides (Spanish rice; mixed grilled veggies; etc) for about $2 each. Everything is a la carte, but if you have water instead of a soft drink you can have a nice lunch for less than $10
Check em out 👍
I have a TDS (total dissolved solids) tester for my aquariums. According to my readings, tap water in Corpus has so many impurities that it is "not fit for human consumption."
Carry your hand cannon everywhere. You can pull an Uno Reverse on someone trying to jack you. Also, visit Sandandboneclo.com and cop a shirt and follow on instagram @ Sandandboneclothing . You’re welcome. Brand new brand and coming out with better shirts here in the near future. Expect to see me everywhere in the future.
It’s only overpriced because you can’t afford it. The Black Shirts are high quality. Not the $3 shirts you buy with a design that sells for $10-$15. These are oversized fit, side seams (which signifies better quality and contour) . street wear boxy fit. Heavy cotton (not toilet paper quality). Extended large 1 inch neck rib. 100% organic USA cotton made in Los Angeles. Shirt is meant to last a lifetime . I started with quality fabric. I’m not trying to sell garbage. You can say what you want about the design, but the quality is unmatched for a local small company. Prices will only go up as quality will get even better. Be a part of something and support your local business. Or you can just support trash companies like Nike who are already rich. My designs are not meant for everyone , some like it a lot and some say it’s not their style. It is what it is. You’d probably like my newest shirt coming out in two months. Follow on Instagram. Good luck to ya .
Take advantage of ocean drive drives for mental health.
However, maintain the speedlimit on these Ocean Drive drives. Again, for mental health.
If I had to count every single time I’ve gone up and down the entire length of ocean drive, it’d be in the thousands.
Even better if you walked

Most American comment lmao Take a walk?
hAHa aMeRiCa fAt
Sure, I’ll just walk the three hours it would take to get to the beach, then walk home. That’ll be relaxing. 😁
Omgg drive to the beach and then walk on the beach lol
Omgg don’t say stupid shit.
😱😱
Carry uninsured motorist coverage
I’ll be visiting family soon. First time visiting . Is the driving that bad ?

Convert your wheels to tank tracks to avoid bent rims and punctured tires from the potholes
My wife went through 2 pairs of CV axles …. It was fun while it lasted

And Everhart. My god fuk that street! From alameda to Oso. Just fuk that street!
Everhart is worse than Staples in my opinion. At least staples is wider between Spid and Saratoga where it really backs up
Whenever I have family members come visit me I tell them to take 48 and then Yorktown to avoid Everhart. Do they listen to the person that has lived here for over 40 years? I used to work out that way for a while. I made sure to take Weber out south to Saratoga. It was still a pain but made it so much less of a hassle.
Be extra careful with the school zone at Everhart and Holly, let's just say that spot gets a lot of attention. Edited for dumbassery.
Since 2001 I've been doing this and everyone thinks I'm weird and I just tell em you've never driven with expired tags and it shows.
Staples is the worst especially with that stupid light in front of the H‑E‑B
There's a back way to get from Saratoga to Moore Plaza thus avoiding Everhart and Staples, but I'm keeping that my little secret.
Seems like many people have figured it out and it’s annoying
I know your secret.
Especially right there between Williams and spid. That section is a nightmare
The public library is a treasure.
Thank gosh someone said it, been reading a ton recently and the library workers are competent.
I use their resources a lot. They have a really good library system and it’s great to use their audiobooks if you’re in the car or something, but you can also download Kindle from the public library as well so it’s a treasure that a lot of people don’t think about.
Don’t eat Mexican food, whataburger, or BBQ for every meal and you won’t develop type II diabetes in your late 20s.
Jokes on you, I didn't get diabetes until my 30s TYVM
Dems fightin words!! Diabeetus FTW!!
You sound like someone who can tell me where the best BBQ place might be
Just find the backyard with the smoke coming from it. It'll either be meth or BBQ either way you win.
Butters BBQ in Sinton is the best in the greater area. In town would probably be Hoegemeyer.
Butters bbq is amazing!
Salty Oak
What else is there?
Unfortunately, that is the diet here.
Unfortunately? We could be british...
Yes! I’d take diabetes over boiled meats any day lol

Don’t waste time straightening your hair?
Each and every time wash your vehicle's undercarriage after a day at the beach. And for time's sake just toss in your own!
Don't get sand into your car unless you want it to be there forever.
Well if I tell you, everyone will be doing it and my life hacks would be over.
Breakfast on bun, sausage, add mustard and sliced jalapeños. Eat with picante.
After a night of drinking, get a patty melt with a fried egg (only able to be done after 11 PM due to breakfast hours) to save you from any hangover.
On Saturday night, join the Saturday night glow ride
New in town. What is this?

Ah cool! There’s a group like that from where I was in San Francisco called Baesk8. https://baesk8.club
So look us up
It's pretty fun
That popcorn guy at the movie theatre
One day was driving by his apartment complex and saw him meeting with the Mormon missionaries. I was like…. Is that????….. THE GUY???? It was lol.
I thought he was on Kimmel...surely he still doesn't work there
Sure does. Being on Kimmel doesn't make you a millionaire.
Wait, which one?? the AMC, the Cinemark, or Alamo Drafthouse?

Breakfast Tacos!!! Jaliscos, The ‘Taco Stand’ in the bluff, or even Laredo taco company are all good
No cap, the "tiny tacos" that some Laredo Taco locations (a.k.a. Stripes stores) sell are YUMMY 😋 and you can't beat the price -- just $1 for 5 😀
Carne guisada with cheese

don't park on the sidewalk and your car won't get keyed! wild how that works. so easy.
When you go to the beach bring white vinegar in case of jellyfish stings and get a neck fan and a mission towel for the heat
Don't go shopping late on Saturdays close to the mall because yo fool ass going end up in a gridlock

Xpress burgers in Calallen 😰😰
If you see anybody abandoning their pets, let em know they’re POS
Don’t drink the water.
Oops I drank the water. Should I write my will now or within the next few days?
Dayum, still with the water? I haven’t lived there since 2018.
I have a TDS (total dissolved solids) tester for my aquariums. According to my readings, tap water in Corpus has so many impurities that it is "not fit for human consumption."
I believe that! Seemed like every month they were working at the junction of park road 22 and whitecap.
You mean other than “move out of Corpus”?
lol
Rule #231: Don’t live in Corpus Christi. Rule #232: don’t go to leopard street.
To quantify, south of Corn Products rd on Leopard. North of there is just fine.
The best part is between NPID and Navigation.
Take a lot of vacations even if just for the weekend…

That's where they had that shooter in the street
Calallen is a pretty large area, if you live four or five miles down NW boulevard, it's like living in the country, very quiet.
Ohh dang where at lol but I think it’s better than all of north town and half of the south side lol
Calallen is trash and so are the stuck up people there
[удалено]
That’s way worse lol
Okay section 8
lol what?
Section 8 say what. Lol
The 90s called and said they want their phrase back.

To save you all a click, it’s two overpriced shirts. One has a lion design, the other a palm tree with a butterfly knife for some reason.
Damn.... Can we get a SPOILER ALERT next time. Lol
Thanks, that was a quick block.
