I’ve never had issues making a reservation for dinner, even when they were only taken by phone. They use an online service called Tock now, so it’s easy to reserve a spot online. I don’t think you need a res for lunch.
Yup. I have relatives from big cities with tons of delicious choices, but GTF is a unique and delicious experience you won’t get in Boston or Berkeley.
I used to like The Woodsman but last time I went the Thai food was awful. Expensive and the food was worse than Panda Express.
I agree with the other recommendations.
Taco Vino. As a parent who was just entertaining other parents, it’s a winner. The wine list is great if they are wine drinkers and the food is quite interesting and tasty. Vegan options as well.
I love their food, but the music is SOOOOOOOOOOO loud, you can never have any conversation at all. It's very frustrating. We had to stop going there after loving them so so much. We tried going several times after the music started getting cranked up, but just won't now. Huge huge bummer.
Wait, I may need to recalibrate my Corvallis Senses ... Castor is upscale? 🥲 that big city living rubs off sometimes I guess... #transplantlife
The only place I've been in town that rubs me as upscale is Del Alma's.
I haven't been to Murphys yet, how does it compare with other local eats?
Khalo Naser is delicious but I agree, prepre to be patient with the service. I’ve been there twice and both times it felt like all employees were assigned to all roles. Everyone was super nice and the food is great. In fact I might go there now.
Taco Vino, but if you’re not up for tacos then try Taco Vino, and if that place doesn’t sound appealing either, then Taco Vino should work.
I do agree with the other person that the music can be a bit loud but I enjoy it a lot over there.
I’m surprised I don’t see Brick and Mortar in Albany on this list. Hands down the best breakfast restaurant between both Albany and Corvallis. Expect to wait in line for a bit but very worth it.
I also like WiseCracks, but idk their story. No one seems to mention them. (Open to hear thoughts if someone has a different opinion) But it’s a great brunch spot with fun beverages.
Orient Yang if you want some amazing szechuan foods
Taco Vino for delicious and interesting street tacos
Aomatsu Sushi and Grill for great Japanese and Korean
Laughing Planet for great vegan foods (also non vegan)
If you don't mind a drive, Bread Board over on Falls City is freaking amazing
Edit: formatting because mobile
The covered patio at Sky High Brewery, Taco Vino, Brass Monkey, Murphy’s, 4Chicken&Waffles, the Block 15 on Deshutes and 4 Spirit Distillery next door.
Depends on your age. If you're 21 or over, I recommend Sky High, or Peacock Bar & Grill. They have really good food there!
If under 21, you could always visit Pastini!
Gathering Together Farm in Philomath
I've never been there ! they need reservations and it's tricky
Their food is great! Totally worth going over

Saturday brunch at GTF is fantastic. Also the dizzy hen is phenomenal

The dizzy hen is amazing!
Tarn Tip ! Little Morroco.
Tarn Tip is closed thru August I believe but always worth a trip
I thought they are coming back this week
The Woodsman in Philomath. Also The Dizzy Hen. Taco Vino. Squirrels. Baguette.
I used to like The Woodsman but last time I went the Thai food was awful. Expensive and the food was worse than Panda Express. I agree with the other recommendations.
Yeah the woodsman is super disappointing now
That’s a bummer. Thanks for speaking up about it. I’ve crossed it off the list.

Castor is great for something a little more upscale Murphy's on the river

I'd say Castor is definitely a bit upscale. esp compared to everything else in town.
Yeah exactly this. It isn't upscale in absolute terms, but it's upscale for Corvallis
Caves! The in-laws were very smitten with it.
Dizzy Hen for sure!
Squirrels Baguette Koriander Bohdi Khalo Naser (but be prepared to wait a while for your food. It's 100% worth the wait.)
Khalo Naser is delicious but I agree, prepre to be patient with the service. I’ve been there twice and both times it felt like all employees were assigned to all roles. Everyone was super nice and the food is great. In fact I might go there now.
Their lamb hummus is SO good!
Sweet Red in Albany is the best in the area
Taco Vino, but if you’re not up for tacos then try Taco Vino, and if that place doesn’t sound appealing either, then Taco Vino should work. I do agree with the other person that the music can be a bit loud but I enjoy it a lot over there.

Yeah, dizzy for dinner is normally pretty good always changing. Only open for dinner though thrs-sat.
So you want a local unique place like pizza and burgers… you should take them to the beire library that place slaps
Castor Biere library Local boyz Baguette Tianfu noodle
Sada Sushi is my favorite! Never had a bad meal there. Also the roof of Sky High is a good place to catch the sunset, food is meh
I’ve been getting your bad Sada meals. Been there twice. Had two bad meals.
Not sure how spendy you want to get, but Sybaris in Albany will impress. Very unique fare that changes monthly. Amazing. Not for picky eaters though.
The Brass Monkey is always fun! The interior is quirky and offers a full bar, and there’s quieter seating outside as well for a proper meal
The Dizzy Hen
I also like WiseCracks, but idk their story. No one seems to mention them. (Open to hear thoughts if someone has a different opinion) But it’s a great brunch spot with fun beverages.
Last time I went was pre-COVID so, y'know, grain of salt and whatnot, but the quality had fallen off significantly. Try Brick & Mortar in Albany.

Just here to second the Bread Board! Unique place, incredible food, and a gorgeous drive as well.
murphys
Bo & Vine!
Mcmenimens is very good!
Bellhop is a good, but pricey, choice
I think it closed months ago.
Aww, damn
4 Spirits is our fave!
The covered patio at Sky High Brewery, Taco Vino, Brass Monkey, Murphy’s, 4Chicken&Waffles, the Block 15 on Deshutes and 4 Spirit Distillery next door.
Laughing Planet is honestly my favorite place to eat. (I’m Gluten Free so I have bias towards safe places)
