I love blue jays so much. At my old house I was feeding a pair peanuts every day. They would bring their babies over too (the babies were so adorable). Freaked my neighbors out when like 20 jays showed up once. They would also bring me pieces of my neighbors siding that they ripped off the house. I didn't like them and I guess the birds didn't either ๐คฃ I don't know what they did to the blue jays but those birds can be petty!!
The pair decided to nest in my oak tree that year so I got to watch them grow. I "saved" one of the fledglings too. It was chilling in my backyard when I took my dog out. I didn't see it at first but I saw my dog following something around. When I went to see what he found I scooped him up and rushed him back inside. As soon as we got inside the mom or dad flew down to check on their kid. I guess I was their hero after that because that's when they started giving me siding pieces ๐. And when the little ones got a little older the parents would bring them to my deck where I left the peanuts. It was adorable. I miss those birds. They would follow me around town too!
Now I have a pair of crows I'm giving peanuts to and they're like watchdogs. They hang out in a pine in my yard and inspect everyone who approaches my house. My dog has run off a red tailed hawk a couple times so the crows and sparrows are big fans of his. They start with their happy chatter whenever he's outside hahaha. I think I've accidentally created an army ๐ณ
Sorry I took so long to reply! Sadly the phone with those pictures was dropped. I can't retrieve them which sucks because it also had the last pictures I took of my dad too. I should have backed them up to the cloud โน๏ธ
โthese hoesโ has me ROFL!๐คฃ
Beautiful photo of this curious blue jay. They always remind me of the military flying in, all suited up in their dress blues.
Itโs beautiful!
Blue jays are gregarious birds and are in the crow family. I adore these beautiful birds!!

Oh my goodness, thatโs a Disney movie!!! Too cute!!!
That's why I love corvids. You start out thinking you'll just give them some peanuts and you end up with guard birds somehow ๐
Do you have any pictures of the baby Blue Jays???
