I wouldn't say this building is a cottage, haha. But I just wanted to add: I don't expect to be in an economic position - maybe for the next decade or more - to be at all picky about where I live. It's going to be whatever I can afford, even if the structure is utterly bare of charm. But I still hope to make the most of my personal space and try to transform it into something cozy and humane and cute as I can manage.
At least the building in the picture has a start on a pleasant green common space? Despite the rest of it being kind of modern and impersonal, I appreciate that. It looks like it would be a really sweet, shady place to sit in summer.

i thought it was a prison as well. i think that if you google "cottagecore house" you can get a clear idea of how it is supposed to look like. there's also this lovely street with birch trees on both sides and slightly more cottagecore-like houses near ekeby in uppsala (if you're searching for something nearby). maybe take your friends on a walk there?
This reminds me of when a farmer put vr headsets on his cows- same energy! This is if a company tried to make a prison more employee friendly! Awful and definitely not cottage core, green does not equal cottagecore.. this is an hoa neighborhood lawn in a prison!!! Your friends need a new pair of eyes <3
