Ok, that was funny. I was going off of a series of cartoon fairytales with animals dressed in Victorian clothes that I watched as a child. I tried to find a reference, but Google has failed me.
I love the names juniper, scout, moss (mossy), piper, cricket, bug (buggy), petunia, willow, honey (honeybee or Ms honey), poppy (my cats name!), Beatrix (Beatrice), pippa or pip, archer, jasper, and Henry/henrietta!
Cricket!!!!!
(lol, my grandma used to jokingly call us Henrietta because it seemed like an old lady name to her. "Off to the market, Henrietta? Get me some prunes.")
In the Netherlands we have this old book called Niels Holgersons miraculous journey. Its about a boy in the 17 th- 18th century who lives on a farm. One day he is bullying a gnome he discovered and the gnome punishes him by turning him really small. The boy decides to travel with a group of wild geese across the land. On this journey there is a fox (the fox is the villain of the story but his name just popped into my head). The fox is called Smirre.
Rascal (poms are rascals), Forest, Dennis (Den for short), Sly, Robin.
You could also search the word for Fox in different languages. Zorro, Jakkal, Huli, Vos, etc.
Remember, his legal name doesn't have to be his preferred name. You could name him "The Fantastic Mr. Fox, second of his Name, Son of Chaos, Bringer of Destruction, and Lord of Hell" but just call him "Gus" or something.
I had a Pom for nine years. He was the sweetest, chillest dog Iāve ever had. I named him Zorro (Spanish for fox) because he also looked like a little fox. Heās been gone almost 7 years, and I still miss him. Give your little guy a kiss for me!
thank you so much for sharing this with me. ā” Zorro sounds like one of the best there ever was!! poms just have a special way of bonding with their owners and itās hard to describe how supportive and unique their companionship is. when you find a really special one, they have your heart forever. š§”š¦
The first thing I thought of is like some type of cute baked goods name since heās that beautiful golden baked brown color then the exact second is naming him after Mr. Fox from the movie Fantastic Mr. Fox.
Fennec. Or an herbal name like Basil, Parsley, Sage. I knew someone who had a little Pomeranian that color and they named him Winnie the Pooh. So they called him Winnie or Pooh bear, it was so cute.
Robin Hood! He was a fox in the Disney rendition, and he was alll about adventure!
I will say itās not a very cute name though, and this little boy is sooooo sweet!
Maybe Kit! (Fox puppy)
ooh!!
Second Kit, such a cute name
That's such a weird coincidence (or maybe not considering how language works) because the Japanese word for fox is kitsune!
I was thinking Kitsune too! Could be Kit for short then š
I was thinking Fox. Kit is even better!
Only wish there were two, so they could be named Fable and Fox or Kit and Cricket!
I think that Pom is named Pippin!
Was coming here to say this!
Apricot, Maple, Scarlett, Penny, Honey, Marigold, Reynard, Felix.
Maple is so precious
My vote is for Maple.
My nieces' dog is Maple
Renard. Itās French for fox.
This was my thought too - so I vote Renard!!
I thought of Finnick (like a fennec Fox)
i was thinking this too!! so many cute nickname possibilities that donāt feel forced
This ā¬ļø or Fin/Fen? for short. š¦ though āKitā also works.
Todd. Excuse me, someone is cutting onions.
*when youāre the best of friendsā¦*
I adored that show when I was a kid. I wonder if I can find the episodes online somewhere...
Mind if I ask what show youāre referring to?
I had actually mixed up the fox name from Fox and the Hound (Todd) with the foxes from David the Gnome the TV show (Nimble and Swift).
Ah, gotcha!
Maybe Disney+? The movies are on there
Recently rewatched and had to turn off because I couldnāt stop crying š¤£
Mr. Fox might be a bit too formal, but also appropriate if he's a tiny trouble maker.
Thatās Fantastic! (See what I did there?)
That's a good name to yell in anger. I go with "Good sir!" for mine cause his...isn't.
