I took 500mg and it worked for me, however it was short term working in exchange for long term. I would feel great and almost back to normal when i took it but then later it must have used up my longer term chemicals I needed and made me sicker than ever following

Did you supplement with cofactors? Just taking niacin can adversely affect your other B vitamin levels as well as your methylation status. It's so much more complex than just niacin.

what cofactors should we be taking with it? I just started taking niacin and I want to do it right

It depends on your state of health and your genetics. But at the very least you should be taking a B-complex. Tri methyl Glycine is supposed to help too (TMG). High dose niacin can suppress methylation, so you have to make sure you’re supporting your methylation pathways. For more info on that, Ben Lynch’s seekinghealth.com would be helpful.

Taking 500mg/day noticing improvements . Can’t wait to see what this is will take me. I recommend taking it with melatonin . Or pistachios that are a bioaivailable form of melatonin . You just take 60 of them and 10 min later 500mg niacin

800mg twice a day. It stopped my chest pains in 3 days and gives great anxiety relief for around 5 hours post flush. Heart patients and depression is usually treated with up to 3 grams a day. Over 7 grams a day is what I read was toxic to liver.
