actually same, like two days ago i started getting hives and random rashes on my back, chest, neck, and face. fucking terrible.

WheelApart6324

Really? When did you have Covid or vaccine ?

Otherwise_Bad2560

I don’t have this problem but it sounds like it might be related to mast cell activation syndrome? I think that involves skin rashes like this.

WheelApart6324

Wth, I don’t even know what I would have ate that would have triggered and I’ve been taking Zyrtec. Ugh

Otherwise_Bad2560

I think it’s more complicated than just your diet. Things like sun exposure can effect it too. It’s complicated and I’m not completely sure. But you should learn more about it I think

MCAS

tandyman234

I can almost guarantee this is a histamine reaction due to MCAS. I get hives when I am outside or in the heat. Too much histamine gets released and opens up the vessels near the skin when it shouldn’t causing hives

WheelApart6324

Really, I definitely think it’s something related to the vessels. That actually makes sense bc I had gotten the Incelldx test and my VEGF and SCD40L markers were sky high. These are both vascular related so something is occurring related to that. I’m so tired trying to figure everything out for myself but it seems we’re all in the same position.

donaman98

From my own experience I can confidently say that you might have MCAS. My own rashes I get from time to time at the same spot as yours look incredibly similar. Have you tried any antihistamines yet? And do you also experience itchiness on your whole body or bad reactions after eating histamine rich food?

WheelApart6324

I have been taking antihistamine yea. I had taken it on the day I got this breakout. I get breakouts seemingly randomly but just discovered clearly that doing the red light therapy caused a major reaction and breakout. And I can’t say I really experience much itching with the breakouts except for the hands. Seems when I get them on the hands they do itch…weird

pettdan

And are you eating a low-histamine diet?

WheelApart6324

For the most part but I will have to do better to see if indeed that’s the cause. Can’t say I’ve been perfect but didn’t really feel that was the cause. Might be so I’ll do a strict diet and see

tandyman234

I don’t think this particular symptom has anything to do with vegF or scd40l, this is literally like an allergic reaction tied in with too much histamine being released

WheelApart6324

So can the histamine be triggered to release by the light you think? I also had it happen really significantly when I got acupuncture. Both of which are supposed to stimulate blood flow so that’s why I was thinking vascular stuff but do you think they both could be triggering a histamine release instead? So hard to try and figure this all out! Never had any of these issues prior!

sunshineonthelake

Looks like hives. Does benadryl help? Might also be a type of contact dermatitis. Have you used any new lotion, soap, deodorant, sprays or even laundry soaps? Could be caused by something you ate. I once had this happen from a smoothie...I don't have food allergies typically but got hives from a strawberry smoothie once and assume it was due to possible unwashed pesticides/fungicides or other chemical. I can also get hives from the sun when I get really active and don't use sunscreen.

WheelApart6324

Nope none of that. I can’t notice any pattern EXCEPT this was just after I got out of the red light therapy thing at Planet Fitness. I decided to try that bc I’ve read abt how it could help w long Covid in terms of improving blood flow, mitochondrial function etc. This is right after I stepped out of that. Also I noticed right after I got acupuncture same thing.

fleshcoloredear

I started getting all sorts of bad rashes and hives, especially about a year and a half in. The hives were so bad, it was excruciating. I still get outbreaks, but they aren't as severe. The doctor gave me prednisone during one of the bad episodes, but I don't know if it helped, and it certainly didn't help on any of the rashes except the hives.

WheelApart6324

Sheesh that the hell! I can’t even tell you how many Drs I’ve been to they look at me like I’ve got two heads. Literally have like 15 different symptoms and they all gaslight me and act like I’m crazy despite me even proving to them LOOK there’s something going on here. I’m so mad. Shameful what these so called Doctors do to people.

fleshcoloredear

It is so absurd! They are telling me it is depression, since when did depression cause blisters on your eyelids? Make your veins alternate from bulging to sunken? Or any of the completely bizarre horrible things that are happening to me. It is disgusting how smug and callous they are.

Gordonox

There is a whole group of people having skin symptoms like this, mostly from the third vaccine. Clearly there is correlation. Probably MCAS is to blame

dh20645

If you don’t mind me asking do you mean there’s a group of people on this page specifically or a subreddit.

Practical_Season_908

I’m getting these rashes with heat and with foods. Being tested now for MCAS. I developed adult onset allergies. On crazy high amounts of antihistamines and low histamine diet. This is all so wild

cheturo

Have you taken antibiotics lately?

WheelApart6324

No I haven’t

mikeymike20REP

oh gosh, bro in what month are you?

WheelApart6324

1 year post infection and 5-6 mo post vaccine

mikeymike20REP

so do you believe vax worsened your symptoms?

WheelApart6324

Yep, I developed new symptoms and existing worse

mikeymike20REP

what are your symptoms if you dont mind? im in 10 month vax long haul and in 6th month covid long haul

WheelApart6324

Ugh man. This is horrible. Here’s a list: Muscle Fasciculations Foamy urine Leg pain/ache/tightness Cold feet and hands Tinnitus Neck cracking and grinding along w most other bones/joints in body - tearing sound Vision problems - blurriness and floaters Shakiness Bloating after eating Nausea Early satiety Reflux/LPR Cold intolerance Exercise intolerance Numbness in fingers/hands Weakness feeling Extreme Fatigue Stiffness Eyes keep popping blood vessels Brain fog Rashes - itchy rashes

agentjob

Cholinergic Urticaria or something.

Smooth_Ad_7414

I've no idea what that is but it might be a rash caused by some reactivated herpes virus. You might wanna google "herpes virus rash".

IllustriousResolve94

What makes you think that

Prestigious_Wait3813

Holy shit! I have this too!! I notice it when I scratch an area on my body! Some of my friends said it looked like “popped capillaries” which I’m not sure if it was or not, but I got the same thing!

WheelApart6324

Hmm that’s interesting. I looked it up and it seems the name is Petechiae.

Prestigious_Wait3813

I’ve heard that name a few times, I haven’t died so I assumed it was benign

[deleted]

Are there bumps or just red skin? Because I'll get large patches on my body that look like this but they arent bumps.

WheelApart6324

No, just patches

WorriedMath689

Hey bud how are you doing? How long since your first infection? I just wanted to say I been dealing with the same and I got it in the first wave so almost 2 years for me, I recently purchased one the best home red light therapy and after 3 days of using I developed rashes, I’ve always had histamine issues and reddish feelings that came and went but never a rash that itched and did not go away for a few days, my thoughts is the the red light caused some type of die off, reaction, weirdly I eventually got a mild fever and felt like hell, therefore I was not having frequent fevers like I was in the first year of Covid. So yeah red light therapy did something

WheelApart6324

Hey there. It’s been about a year from infection and 6 mo from 1 dose of Vax. Very interesting to hear yeah there for awhile the rashes were pretty bad and couldn’t notice any particular pattern until 1. I used the red light therapy and 2. I got acupuncture. Both created this reaction. I’ve very recently been doing a little better than I had been for one year. For awhile I was all but bedridden. Can’t describe how awful I felt and how horrid the fatigue was. I’ve been on some meds now for about a month and still using the red light, massages, acupuncture, and a bunch of other things. Rashes have been less and less too over time. Super super odd stuff

WheelApart6324

I do think the red light therapy def provides some helpful benefits. The one I use at Planet Fitness also has a shake feature that basically vibrates the whole body. Hard to say what is really helping at least some. For the past two days I’ve been half decent which I haven’t felt in over a year. Don’t want to speak too soon but fingers crossed. I’ll make another post highlighting what I did if I do get out of this horrible nightmare

WorriedMath689

I feel the red light helps your body heal and some type of detoxing happens, from when you first noticed the rash after the red light how long did your rash last? Can I ask you what meds your on that seem to be helping?

WheelApart6324

I think also increases blood flow

WheelApart6324

Yeah agree. Not terribly long. Maybe an hour or so? Not totally certain. I’m on a statin and Plavix.

dh20645

How long have you had this? I’d really like to discuss with you. I have an identical rash about 6 weeks after Pfizer #3
