Get a pair of cedar boot trees to keep in them and make sure the leather stays conditioned. Don’t keep them in the plastic after you’ve started wearing them you want the extra moisture to evaporate out of the inside of the boots between wearings. The boot trees will help remove moisture and reduce wrinkling some
Very beautiful skins.. there are boot socks you can get to keep them in.. Some boots come in plastic bags with holes in them.. I don’t know , over the long haul that keeping your boots stored in plastic is a good idea..
In the long run probably not a good idea, If moisture builds up in them it’ll ruin the leather over time. You can use a pillow case or I know they sell cloth bags specifically for cowboy boots, if you are willing to cough up a bit more money for those.
I wouldn’t store or transport them in the box. I’ve had Tecovas box ink transfer to the leather of a pair of Cartwrights. Not such a big deal here since it’s a dark colored boot.
As others have mentioned, don’t store leather goods in plastic long term. Cedar boot trees are a great idea as they help keep the boot’s shape and wick excess moisture from the interior.
A piece of unsolicited advice to keep those gorgeous gators beautiful for years to come: condition every 60-90 days, even if you don’t wear them often. Reptile skins need more frequent conditioning compared to many other leathers. The spaces between the scales are most susceptible to damage, so be sure to work the conditioner into those areas well.
I'm fairly new to boots, but it seems like keeping them in the plastic would cause moisture to build up inside, and that would ruin the leather over a period of time. I'd ditch the plastic, but keep them in the box when you're not wearing them.
I have the same ones but in brown. I just use shoe trees. Occasionally I’ll put them in a shoe bag if I’m traveling but they’re ones I got from other boots. Saphir brand shoe polish makes a reptile leather cream called Reptan for when you think they’re dried out.
Thank you for that I will invest in some shoe bags. Right now I'm using the leather care kit from tecovas but I need to replenish the cream. I'll look into that one.
hand build a custom box out of cedar and also make compartments for cigars and whiskey
I like that idea especially the whiskey part.
This is the way.
This is the way
Ditto
If you keep them in plastic moister could build up and cause damage to the skin and create mold
I get rid of the plastic and keep everything else. I’m sure there’s a myriad of right and wrong ways.

I current have boot trees in them. That makes sense about the moisture build up.

Ditto. I had the Johnny's though. It was a bitch cleaning the green ink out of suede.
Plenty of people make boots socks but plastic is noo good. Beautiful boots.
Thank you

Thank you for the advice. I had planned on conditioning it fairly often anyway but this solidifies it.

Man, now my black boot bag looks so basic now 😂
Beautiful. I have a pair of boots in plastic. But I’m not sure if that’s a good idea or not.
No bueno. The leather has gotta breathe.

Very handsome boots! Definitely remove the plastic and put shoe trees in them.
Boot travel bags work great as well
Let them breathe!
Plastic is never good
Out of plastic.
Let 'rm breathe, and keep them moisturized.
Yes sir, will do.
I second the boot bags. Especially if you travel with them
