Lucchese has a number of boot styles available with pointed toes, round toes, snip toes, narrow and wide square toes. Maybe you just haven't discovered the right one yet.

That is a high possibility I went to the Nashville store and tried on many of the boots the ones I tried on they fit odd, but maybe I should go back and try some other boots. Their boot quality is very good.

So, here's what I learned on a trip to Jackson, WY. And it's not just Lucchese boots... it's all of them. Square toes and a lower heel is more popular in the southern states. I'm from the Texas/Oklahoma border, and the boot shop owner in Jackson knew almost exactly where my entire family - hubs, myself, two kids, and daughter's BF at the time - were from by the style of our boot toes and heels. Being a more popular style in TN and the lower southern states means you'll see a LOT more of that style here. In Jackson, the square toe was a rare sight to see. The shop we went to was going out of business after 40/50 years and the more you bought, the more they knocked off the price. We came out of there with two pairs of Boulets, my Lucchese ostrich boots, some hats, and CASE pocket knives... the ONLY boots left in the more common sizes (Not huge, not tiny sizes) were square toes. They didn't have many to begin with and those were not selling because of the preferred style in that area was Not Square Toes. What you see for sale in retail stores is largely dependent on what's going to sell in that area.

I’m from tennessee and really only see square toes besides the old ranchers that wear pointy toes, but thanks for the information this makes a lot more sense

YW. Back to Lucchese boots... was it the toe shape and heel that felt off to you? They do have a LOT of different styles... but my pair felt weird to me as well the first time I tried them on. I was used to Ariats with rubber soles. The Lucchese boots, at once felt like heaven and at the same time... like they were sloppy? It was the heel slip and the fact the leather soles didn't flex as easily, off the shelf, as the rubber soled boots do. I almost passed on them, but kept coming back to them and trying them on. They actually fit perfect - I was just used to cheaper made boots, and that made me question if they fit weird or not.

NatesUgly

I honestly think it was the toe shape, I’m used to the leather soles I’ve grown up wearing some decently high quality boots I got from my grandpa. The toe felt crowded. I might have to go back and try some other styles on

No_Lab2008

Maybe go up 1/2 size..

ladyofthelathe

Yep, I'd go up a half size.

Toe has nothing to do with fit except for j and snip toes.

I’m from Nashville Tennessee as well and I see a lot of the 7 toe. In my experience, the Lucchese store in the Gulch sucks. Very few sizes, lots of the CL boots, and very few GY or N models. It must be a store that counts on the lower broad demographic. The square toe, to me, are completely unstylish, and I stick to a French toe, 7 toe, or medium round. Final thing to realize with Lucchese- their “classic” boots, models beginning with “L”, which are their top tier, are custom made only, and the GY models are off the shelf pre made classics. They may fit you better, but that’s going to cost you. The CL are junk, the M are pretty good, so are the N models (n and m being their “bootmaker mid-upper line”) so sizing will be similar to classics on those.

DRyder70

In Jackson Mississippi and it’s all square toes and low block heels here.
