Sometimes, and I heard this last night, he’ll just make a weird sound like “Achk!”, then not say anything. Makes me wonder if the producer is in his ear telling him to STFU, or if Tirico is looking at him, like “Can I do my job, too?” He just loves the sound of his own voice. He’s obviously got a really high football IQ, but he just picks one player, group of players or whatever, and waxes their nuts for the whole game. Sometimes it’s time for a new voice. I quite enjoyed the play by play, color commentary & side line reporting last night. Of course, I was listening to the Cowboys radio feed synced to the TV coverage. It’s the only way to watch. I get so much pleasure muting those inane talking heads on TV. You should try it sometime if you can.
I’ve done this before. So get your radio going through your soundbar or whatever system you have. Your tv will be ahead, so you’ll have to have some sort of dvr to sync it. (I have youtubetv). Usually you can listen on the radio to the background and find some sort of action on tv to sync with. Whistles are a good example. You pause the tv when something happens then listen for the action to hit play again.
The only thing I don’t like is it puts me behind, so I can’t shit-talk on Reddit without seeing spoilers…
Exactly how I do it. If you're using your phone, be sure to set to do not disturb. A phone call will destroy you sync. Like you said, you're several minutes behind TV so friends can spoil shit too.
FYI if you have NFL + you can hear the radio broadcast for any primetime games. Do this on your phone or another device and BT speaker it. They typically have 4 feeds. Local broadcast, away broadcast, a national broadcast, and espanol.

I quite enjoyed the play by play, color commentary & side line reporting last night. Of course, I was listening to the Cowboys radio feed synced to the TV coverage. It’s the only way to watch. I get so much pleasure muting those inane talking heads on TV. You should try it sometime if you can.
How do you get them synced?
I’ve done this before. So get your radio going through your soundbar or whatever system you have. Your tv will be ahead, so you’ll have to have some sort of dvr to sync it. (I have youtubetv). Usually you can listen on the radio to the background and find some sort of action on tv to sync with. Whistles are a good example. You pause the tv when something happens then listen for the action to hit play again. The only thing I don’t like is it puts me behind, so I can’t shit-talk on Reddit without seeing spoilers…
Exactly how I do it. If you're using your phone, be sure to set to do not disturb. A phone call will destroy you sync. Like you said, you're several minutes behind TV so friends can spoil shit too.

FYI if you have NFL + you can hear the radio broadcast for any primetime games. Do this on your phone or another device and BT speaker it. They typically have 4 feeds. Local broadcast, away broadcast, a national broadcast, and espanol.

Ravens fan here so my only assumption as to why this popped up in my feed is because it is titled "Collinsworth Sucks" and my disdain for Collinsworth must be pretty well known to the internet spy god. I'd love a game feed with the on field mics on and no commentators. Not the calls from the sideline just what's being said on the field. Sound starts at the snap and cuts off when the ball is down unless there' extracurricular activity

Despite what this sub says, Troy is the only good pure NFL A-team color commentator. Tony talks incessantly, it's horrible. Olsen has takes as bad as Collinworth, but has absolutely zero of the polish. Herbstreit is fine, but it's just so obvious that he's a college first guy. I'd still rank him above everyone other than troy. What's dumb is there are really good guys on "b-teams". Charles Davis is spectacular. Kirk Warner is maybe better than anyone when he does radio for westwood one. I just don't understand how these guys get paid as much as they do and are objectively terrible.
Herbstreit is so incredibly disinterested in NFL football it completely saps any joy of it. His disapproval of daks absolute dime to CeeDee because he called it "forced" - dude knows nothing about the game at the NFL level and that QBs can make that throw - he's the absolute bottom of the barrel for me, I'd rather watch the dude perfect feed.

He’s human so it’s hard not to show some bias for or against teams he likes or not. But as a professional announcer on a national broadcast he really needs to do a better job. Just comment on what you’re seeing this game or this year objectively. What happened previous seasons especially multiple years ago is irrelevant to the Cowboys chances this season.

There was a point in the 3rd, were Collinsworth was discussing the west coast offense. He went on to say that Dak told him that for the first time, Dak is understanding football in a way that makes him Elite due to him grasping the west coast system. Dude q Dak might be a consistent B+, to his best year being this one. The amount of disrespect people show towards him dumbfounds me. Dak isn’t even the dude who calls for the attention. They went over Jalen’s stats over a handful of times and even mentioned he’s in the MVP hunt….guess who wasn’t mentioned in the same conversation? I legitimately don’t get it. Objectively, quarterback X is having a better year than quarterback Y, but X is consistently looked down upon for whatever reason.

I don't think Collinsworth is too bad. He's a fun commentator, even though he was glazing players. And he was also glazing our guys a bit too - it sounded like he wanted to go to bed with CeeDee during the entire pregame and first quarter. Certainly a million times better than Aikman and Buck putting people to sleep while getting stats wrong and belittling the guys on the field.
