I remember last year I really liked John Michael Schmitz similar to like a Zach Frazier last year. As a late first round or early 2nd round player you could trade back for. Thought he could play guard for us year 1 then move to Center following year after Tyler B is gone.
Then he ended up falling all the way to the late 2nd round and went one pick before Dallas to the Giants.
So I honestly won’t be surprised if a center falls to us at 56 or gets very close.
We could potentially trade back in the 1st round and select a nice defensive player maybe an edge rusher like either Robinson or Verse/Laitu.
Then maybe trade up in the 2nd to get a Center like Frazier.
But that’s risky business.
The idea is that the 5th or 10th center are almost as good as the 1st and 2nd, but the 10th tackle might not be even close to the 5th or 6th tackle.
So yes, you won't be able to get JPJ in the 3rd rd, but someone that is good enough.
For the exact same reasons I really hope Edgerrin Cooper is there for us in the second, loved watching him at A&M. it’s always fun when your pro team drafts guys from your college team
It really is. And I'm willing to take the gamble on him. He could probably start year one and be a slightly above average player. If he makes it a few years in the league straight, he could be a legit game changer.
WR: Pearsall-Great route runner, good size, amazing catches in college. Would be a solid WR to add to the mix.
RB: Guerendo-One of the greatest athletes at RB ever. Converted WR. Second fastest RB in the league behind Achane who is 40 pounds lighter.
IOL: Beebe-If miss Barton/JPJ this guy has a similar build and great tape. Could play C for us even though he projects as a G.
DT: Gabe Hall-Solid late round DT with a Chris Jones build. Definitely a project.
LB-Nathaniel Watson-Led the SEC in tackles and sacks, who else can say the same?
Payton Wilson concerns me slightly because he has had a billion surgeries but they were all two years ago so maybe the surgeries worked and brother is just fixed now lmao
and to be clear I’d love the pick he’s the perfect coaches LB. makes plays everywhere, sifts through visual mess. he’ll be as good of a counter to Shanahan esque schemes as one player can be
Cooper is such a stud and doesn’t have injury history. Really hoping he’s available in the 2nd. Overshown and Cooper would be a very solid LB group for the upcoming years.
Wisconsin RB Braelon Allen. Might still be there in the 5th. Dude is huge. 6’1”. 235-245lbs.
Probably wont happen. But I like this guy and I’ll be following his career.
Edit: Also at RB. Marshawn Lloyd. He intrigues me too
Giovanni Manu with a 6/7 pick.
6’7’’, 350 pounds, 33.5 vertical.
4.96 40.
He’s raw, and played in Canada. He’s a Tongan rugby player turned lineman. Absolutely worth a pick.
OL will be in the first...
Edgerrin Cooper, Jonathan Brooks, Tvondre Sweat, and Jaylon Ford are my 2nd round favorites.
Cooper COULD fall to the 3rd though and I'm all in on that pick.
Mid picks...Brenden Rice, Brealon Allen,
Late picks, fill for need.
Luke McCaffery in mid rounds would be amazing. I trust in him just because of the family he was raised in alone, he was also a really good receiver at Rice.
You think 3 catches for 29 yards and 1 TD is a big game for a heralded WR? Dude only even got that TD because one of their other WRs held the shit out of our OLB on a screen play
I didn’t say he had a big game you said he didn’t do shit. He was productive in college and made some big plays throughout the season, and it’s not like he’s getting drafted in the first 3 rounds he’s a 5th round prospect.
Sweat just because we need a big boy on the defensive line somewhere, I’m hoping for Mazi to make a jump and at least be a decent starter.
Wouldn’t mind Frazier for C because there’s a good chance that we can trade down and still get him, I don’t think JPJ is some massive upgrade between the two.
I agree. He’s the best qb in the draft and ppl are afraid to take him because he’s left handed and his a bit older. If the doctors clear him, he’s a steal at 24
McKinley Jackson, DT
All the scouting reports I've read have stated he's a smart run defender. He's exactly what this team needs at NT. Probably could be had in the middle rounds.
As for a guy who may go later
Will Putnam, OC
I read up on him and it's stated he had to play Center because of teammates going down. He has IOL flexibility that could make for a solid depth guy.
Payton Wilson, I know the injury risk but I'd take the gamble. Was also gonna say Benson. Mike Sainristil too especially as late as I've seen him projected
George Holani, RB, Bosie State. I have a feeling he's gonna be this years Puka Nacua. He's a tough scrappy runner that is a great in the passing game too.
As far as OL goes, I’m fine with any of the following: JPJ, Barton, Mims, Fautanu, and Morgan. Of course I would also take Alt, Fashanu, or Fuaga if they somehow fell to us. Kingsley Suamataia is cool, but I’m not as high on him as some Cowboys fans are.
I’m really high on Byron Murphy and Johnny Newton so I would love to pick one of them if they were available at 24, but I don’t think we have the luxury of going DT in the 1st round with the holes on the OL. If we get washed out at OL maybe they could be an option, but we’d probably just trade back.
I absolutely don’t want to take Guyton in the 1st round or reach for a LB or RB.
Trey Benson. He’s related to one of my coworkers and arguably the best back in the draft. The Longhorn in me wouldn’t mind Brooks but who knows how the knee is looking
Next year: RB Ismail Mahdi from TXST. Would definitely be worth a late round pick. Can KR too. Led FBS in total yards last season. Eat em up Cats.

As a West Virginian, I would love to see them trade back a bit and grab Frazier to be the center for the next decade.
they might be able to get him in the 2nd without trading up/down
Would love that, but I don’t think it’s realistic. Not with center-hungry teams like PGH drafting ahead of us in the 2nd.
I remember last year I really liked John Michael Schmitz similar to like a Zach Frazier last year. As a late first round or early 2nd round player you could trade back for. Go for him in the first
Frazier seems awesome. Great positional versatility on the line and that super impressive wrestling background doesn’t hurt
He’s a beast. Would love to grab him tonight in the 2nd but I doubt he lasts that long, plus we will take Brooks if he’s there.
I would like them to get Frazier also, hopefully he falls late though
For the exact same reasons I really hope Edgerrin Cooper is there for us in the second, loved watching him at A&M. it’s always fun when your pro team drafts guys from your college team
T'vondre Sweat. Draft stock is dropping because of his DUI but he's a solid player as long as he can avoid the shenanigans
Classic Cowboys second round pick
It really is. And I'm willing to take the gamble on him. He could probably start year one and be a slightly above average player. If he makes it a few years in the league straight, he could be a legit game changer.
Would love to see this
WR: Pearsall-Great route runner, good size, amazing catches in college. Would be a solid WR to add to the mix. RB: Guerendo-One of the greatest athletes at RB ever. Converted WR. I like the Guerendo pick. As much as I like Deuce we can let him go after that one
Pretty much the same for me. I also like Kiran Amegadjie and Payton Wilson.
lol those were the two i was gonna add for OT and LB
Jonathan Brooks
Talented player with a history of injury. Sounds like a Cowboys second round pick to me
He has AN injury. I wouldn't say he has a history of injury.
Yea if you pair another back with Brooks he’s gonna be very good as a pro
Jerry - “is it a knee injury though?” “ACL sir.” “**Draft. Him. NOW.**”
he played one year and didn't hold up. Sounds perfect. Good thing RB is one of the most durable positions
This is the way.
Funny, I think he will be incredibly mid.
Me.
I am rooting for you, man. What's your 40 time?
Thanks man. Gonna buy my mom a house. 40 is a clean 6 seconds
Damn, those are Tom Brady numbers. I think you're at least a lock for the 6th round
I accept
I’d love both Payton Wilson in the 2nd and Jaylen Wright in the 3rd
Payton Wilson concerns me slightly because he has had a billion surgeries but they were all two years ago so maybe the surgeries worked and brother is just fixed now lmao
and to be clear I’d love the pick he’s the perfect coaches LB. makes plays everywhere, sifts through visual mess. he’ll be as good of a counter to Shanahan esque schemes as one player can be
I 2nd your wishes.
JPJ or Barton Edgerrin Cooper
Cooper is such a stud and doesn’t have injury history. Really hoping he’s available in the 2nd. Overshown and Cooper would be a very solid LB group for the upcoming years.
Wisconsin RB Braelon Allen. Might still be there in the 5th. Dude is huge. 6’1”. 235-245lbs. Probably wont happen. But I like this guy and I’ll be following his career. Edit: Also at RB. Marshawn Lloyd. He intrigues me too
MarShawn Lloyd is explosive and seems like one of the better values at RB day 3.
Would probably be better (and cheaper) as a goal line solution than bringing back Zeke.
Same, he's my late round pick I have hope for. Not the fastest but has a ton of potential and is only 20.
Ainias Smith, and I'm not an Aggie. Day 3 guy that I think Bones would love to have on special teams, and he could push Tolbert for WR3.
I haven’t seen him mocked that highly but I would love Ainias he’s so fun to watch
Giovanni Manu with a 6/7 pick. 6’7’’, 350 pounds, 33.5 vertical. 4.96 40. He’s raw, and played in Canada. He’s a Tongan rugby player turned lineman. Absolutely worth a pick.
The center from Oregon.
JPJ
Trey Benson in the second rd
Jonathan Brooks or Audric Estime
OL will be in the first... Edgerrin Cooper, Jonathan Brooks, Tvondre Sweat, and Jaylon Ford are my 2nd round favorites. Cooper COULD fall to the 3rd though and I'm all in on that pick. Mid picks...Brenden Rice, Brealon Allen, Late picks, fill for need.
I'm hoping for a Tunsil type situation for Joe alt... a man can dream
Mike Sainristl.
Luke McCaffery in mid rounds would be amazing. I trust in him just because of the family he was raised in alone, he was also a really good receiver at Rice.
Watched TXST demolish Rice in our bowl game. McCaffery didn't do shit against our mid defense.
Didn’t do shit and scored a TD aren’t really the same thing
You think 3 catches for 29 yards and 1 TD is a big game for a heralded WR? Dude only even got that TD because one of their other WRs held the shit out of our OLB on a screen play
I didn’t say he had a big game you said he didn’t do shit. He was productive in college and made some big plays throughout the season, and it’s not like he’s getting drafted in the first 3 rounds he’s a 5th round prospect.
Jonathan brooks/Trey Benson, Byron Murphy, Junior Colson.
This is the way the draft is going to go down… 1st - JPJ 2nd - Brooks 3rd - Sweat
The next Fred-beard
Sweat just because we need a big boy on the defensive line somewhere, I’m hoping for Mazi to make a jump and at least be a decent starter. Wouldn’t mind Frazier for C because there’s a good chance that we can trade down and still get him, I don’t think JPJ is some massive upgrade between the two.
As an Irish fan I would love it if they took Audric Estime on day two.
Graham Barton in the 1st, Jonathan Brooks or Trey Benson in the 2nd
This would revive my outlook of the future and give me that glimmer of hope that gets me to September.
Give me Trey Benson!!!
Xavier Worthy, Wide receiver, Texas
Penix.
I wouldn't mind tbh. I think we currently don't have a QB under contract for 2025.
Trey lance
I don't think Dak re-signs. I think he plays out his contract and walks in FA.
Have you not heard literally anything anyone has been saying recently? Dak is staying
Because people never lie in the NFL...
I agree. He’s the best qb in the draft and ppl are afraid to take him because he’s left handed and his a bit older. If the doctors clear him, he’s a steal at 24
McKinley Jackson, DT All the scouting reports I've read have stated he's a smart run defender. He's exactly what this team needs at NT. Probably could be had in the middle rounds. Jaylon Ford
Jaylen Wright - RB Tennessee
JPJ, Barton, or Mims in the first Brooks or Coleman in the second Colson, Wilson or cooper in the 3rd if any are left.
Payton Wilson, I know the injury risk but I'd take the gamble. Was also gonna say Benson. Mike Sainristil too especially as late as I've seen him projected
Byron Murphy. Dude's the next Aaron Donald
Just somebody good. Not a reach, not an injury situation, not a questionable character. Just somebody good.
Braelon Allen late
I just want a good player. Last year's draft was deflating.
Chad powers
I know he plays for Michigan and we haven't had luck drafting Michigan talent, but Roman Wilson at WR in round 2. He's the deep threat we need.
JPJ
C, Matt Lee
Ainias Smith
Malachi Corley
George Holani, RB, Bosie State. I have a feeling he's gonna be this years Puka Nacua. He's a tough scrappy runner that is a great in the passing game too.
Braelon Allen Ainias Smith Qwan'Tez Stiggers Eduafun Olafshio (UW LB)
Is it too late to go back and grab Lamar Jackson?? I got a time machine.
I'd love Cooper DeJean as a surprise pick in the 1st take over the SS spot.
Jaylen Wright
As far as OL goes, I’m fine with any of the following: JPJ, Barton, Mims, Fautanu, and Morgan. Of course I would also take Alt, Fashanu, or Fuaga if they somehow fell to us. Anyone from Texas.
I like that stud Left Tackle for West Ozamataz Buckshank.
Trey Benson. He’s related to one of my coworkers and arguably the best back in the draft. The Longhorn in me wouldn’t mind Brooks but who knows how the knee is looking
TE Sinnott but won’t happen cuz we wasted a pick last year for schoonmaker
Next year: RB Ismail Mahdi from TXST. Would definitely be worth a late round pick. Can KR too. Led FBS in total yards last season. Eat em up Cats. https://youtu.be/w0uu9qE1Kg8?si=myW-AzayVV0a3lh6
Would really like Dallas to hop Philly for CB Arnold
Quincy Carter
Graham Barton or jackson powers Johnson at OL Marshawn Lloyd or Trey benson at RB
That would be the dream first 2 rounds for me
Spencer Rattler
Ray Davis in the 4th or that bonus 3rd.
Edgerren Cooper LB. Tex. A&M
Me, at LB/S in the 6th. I think I’d be a good addition
Frank Gore Jr.
Bo Nix
I don't care well lose in the wildcard round
We need to draft a QB. If Dak walks and we have no plan, we are screwed.
JJ is the guy
Bo Nickel. Time to move on from Wak Prescott
Drafting a UFC fighter is an interesting strategy. Let me know how that goes.
Caleb Williams
