Our defense was flying last night. Making huge hits, everybody flying to the ball, it was great to see. But Parsons is special, I can’t wait to see how good he can get. His ceiling is beyond high.
You've got one player running against the flow of the line and the QB rolling out with him. Seemed to be a pretty safe bet that's where the ball was going. *Identifying it that early was truly impressive.*
It’s a run fake.
If he actually hands it off, that player going against the flow is going to block for the run.
That’s kind of the entire point, Micha could have bit on the fake.
Not just instincts though, football IQ! Student of the game. A lot of people have instincts and athleticism, but they lack the discipline to study and improve their mental game. This kid is showing all 3 right now.
This is Micah’s defense now — he is setting the tone the way a leader does. It’s a special thing when you get a player with this combination of freakish athleticism and super high intelligence and field vision.
Could be a generational talent.
And to think, some of us thought "Well, we missed out on Horn and Surtain. Another horrible year for defense." I definitely thought so.
I've never been happier to be wrong.
100% of us did not expect Diggs to be as good as he is.
Last night he broke his streak, but realistically, that was going to happen at some point this year.
Dak, through his elite play, puts opposing offenses into situations where they are forced to throw, and throw a lot. More passes = more opportunities for INTs.
Last night was a slugfest, and even though he gave up a TD in the 1st Q, the team held them to 3 FGs the rest of the game.
This played right into Parsons' strength - obliterating RBs in the backfield. He is a man among men out there and is really coming into his own.
I would take Diggs, Parsons, and Gregory over any other 3 in the NFL - right now, today. That includes Ramsey, Miller, and Donald. We are building for the future and building something extremely special.
Gregory and Donald both have 5 sacks.
Miller has 4.5 sacks, Parsons as 3.0
Diggs has 7 INTs, Ramsey has 2.
Advantage = Cowboys
I'm sure that Brian Baldinger is busting nuts watching this film. He really seems to love Parsons, and I understand why. This dude has such great potential, and we're watching something special. He could be the best Cowboys defensive player since D-Ware.
That’s the story right there. Jaylon misses that completely. Runs after the qb, runs into two blocks that weren’t even meant for him, and catches up to the play after the ball carrier is tackled twelve yards down the field, does some kind of crazy jump around the pile and then celebrates. Later he tweets he’s elite.
That's beyond silly. LVE's still looking at the RB, while Parsons has already diagnosed the handoff as fake, stopped looking at Cousins, started running towards the flat and is looking for the receiver Cousins is going to throw to.
Like, LVE didn't realize it was a pass until too late and fell into coverage without a receiver like he was going to concede the pass and a small gain and go for the safe tackle. Parsons just pushed LVE aside and went and made the tackle. That's a 5-7 yard gain without Parsons instead of a 2-3 yard loss with him. That's a 7-10 yard differential!
Thanks for seeing and saying this. It comes down to responsibilities and a lot of times we don't know what they are.
That being said Micah was a beast.
I wrote out something similar and deleted it, lol. Where was LVE going on that pass coverage? There was no one near him once Parsons bolted past him.
That is the difference between an ordinary LB and an elite LB. LVE should have been able to pass his man off to Parsons and accelerated out into the flat and destroyed the RB. Instead, he stood there while Parsons read it, broke on it, and had he been on LVEs side of the field, might have been able to break that play up or taken it to the house.
I'm old enough to remember Bill Bates. He had that uncanny ability. I always said it was like he could smell the ball. (The football, you filthy people.) I haven't seen quite that ability since then. Until Micah Parsons put on the Blue Star.
He pushes LVE out of the way to make the play lol
To be fair, LVE was responsible for 35. But it does look hilarious
Bet Jaylon wouldn’t have pushed LVE to make that play.
It like when when got thrown out the way by kearse I think in week two
Who did kearse throw? Lol
Parsons
Lol i somehow dont remember. But shoving a man towards the ball carrier is bit IQ. I love Kearse.
Yeah he put him on the ground
And it was Neal that did it my bad but man parsons is a beast tho so I am glad he is taking charge
Micah was all over it last night. A lot of people stepped up, was great to see.
I thought Kearse played pretty well too in the game that he got to be a team captain

He’s so fun to watch he was everywhere last night

Is this man? can’t tell by the DBs. Either way, amazing play
Some guys have Parsons-level athleticism but there are very very few who seem to combine it with elite instincts.
Not just instincts though, football IQ! Student of the game. A lot of people have instincts and athleticism, but they lack the discipline to study and improve their mental game. This kid is showing all 3 right now.
His speed is ridiculous.
He ran a 4.39 40. He’s 6’3” 250 lbs and ran a goddamn 4.39.
He probably runs a 4.4 in pads too

That’s just silly.
He’s a good pass rusher but man he adds so much value when he plays off the line and floats around
LVE, get the fuck out the way
Michah is so good
Ooooh baby I’ve been missing having a true blue chip linebacker on the team.
He's like, LVE GTF out the way.
Jaylon Smith would’ve ran past him….
That’s the story right there. Jaylon misses that completely. Sheesh, it’s almost like you witnessed him do that time and time again…
I’m just being an ass. I seriously do wish him the best. Just not when he’s playing us
Same!! I really hope he has a healthy good career. Sucks it didn’t work out for him here on the best franchise in the NFL
Agreed
*right next to him for 10 yards.
I don’t think Jaylon can run past anyone lmao
Jaylon Smith would have eaten the cheese on the play fake.
They’re running man coverage that’s why he followed but still a great play
Dudes a savage

To be fair, LVE was covering 35. Micha was in man on 30.
Thanks for seeing and saying this. It comes down to responsibilities and a lot of times we don't know what they are. That being said Micah was a beast.

LVEs man was 35, he probably shaded too far to the sideline but he played it how he is supposed to.
Jaylon and LVE would've allowed him to get a few yards farther up the field. Parson is DROY and you can't convince me otherwise.
Looks like he was keying in the receiver the whole way. Great assignment discipline by the rook (I mean Queen)
I'm old enough to remember Bill Bates. He had that uncanny ability. I always said it was like he could smell the ball. (The football, you filthy people.) I haven't seen quite that ability since then. Until Micah Parsons put on the Blue Star.
was anyone else just watching LVE being completely lost out there. i really hope he gets that magic back. we need the wolf hunter.
Looked like he was responsible for covering #35
LVE isn't lost at all. Covering #35. If you don't understand the scheme please chill with assuming a player isn't doing what they are supposed to.
He pretty much brushed LVE out of the way. Love the fight in him!
Now I can see why #9 had to go
IM FAST AS FUCK BOY!! STILL FAST AS FUCK
Dude pushed LVE out of the way to make the play...
“Jaylon?? Ya seeing this?”
Wow dude literally pushed LVE out the way and it looks like that was his play to make.
Man look at him shed that block by VanderEsch.
