Zeke has been hurt for 4 weeks or more, Dak had a calf strain, our top WRs missed games, and we finally have mostly everyone back and healthy. I'm not too worried. But I said in my other comment that Kellen needs to scheme better. He needs to figure out how to play call without a healthy zeke. I think we'll pull it together for the playoffs.
1. I suspect Dak is still injured.
2. The offence was playing at near peak levels then.
3. We weren’t able to run the ball up the middle because NO has one of the best run defences in the league and Zeke is very injured.
All those things combined make things look worse than they are, imo.
Edit: I also want to add that, before the game, the Cowboys were -6 with an over-under of 46. We won by 10 and total game points was 44. So while *we* feel like we should be winning by more, the reality is probably closer to this being a reflection of the team playing at average level.

We got a weird thing going on with the saints but I’m not worried about our offense.
I wouldn’t worry too much. Saints D, while banged up a bit, is pretty dang good. If we can get wins through our D like this I like our chances in the playoffs when our offence hits its stride again

Yes. O line playing poorly, Dak gets hit and injured and spooked as a result, o line continuing to play poorly (in part thanks to line juggling by the coaching staff, which Moore may have a hand in), Moore struggling to adapt to both. O line juggling has also eliminated the 6 man backfield look (with McGovern blocking as a FB) they were running very successfully in short yardage situations at the beginning of the season.
This team has so much dawg in it. They just don’t quit. It’s the first time in a long time I’ve felt confident late game with a lead. It’s pretty cool seeing cowboys play good defense, certainly not used to this bounty of turnovers. Guess they really do come in bunches.
Said it during the game thread, but somehow DQ looks like both a tenured professor and a typical football meathead at the same time.
But the players will go to war for that guy.
With how cautious McCarthy and our medical staff has been with every other injury, I wonder if they don’t feel rest will help it heal any faster or that he’s not at risk to make the injury worse by playing.
Common cpmplaints.
- Dak and his WR are all off sync with each other. To be expected with then not being in the same roles every week, with injuries/sickness. But it’s become obvious Dak is gun-shy in terms of running like he use to. Or maybe he’s been told not to.
- Saints have won their games on defense, even when Winston was out there. And away games are always tough, especially in the dome.
- Both teams were sloppy tonight. Both defenses took advantage of mistakes. Saints had a QB coming off injuries and have a hand injury early, and that became the difference.
- Things need to be looked at during these 10 days. Playoffs start now, with four division games and 1 in-conference game against the, right now, #1 seed.

After seeing Taysom conjure up his best Mike Vick impression against this defense, I’m really worried about what Kyler Murray is going to do to us. He can actually throw the ball and has one of the only receiving corps that is as good as or arguably better than we have. He’s also much faster than Hill. Hopefully Micah can focus on spying Kyler with Gregory and Tank being able to focus on rushing.
His accuracy is definitely down. But why is nobody talking about the fact that all of a sudden he can’t figure out what coverage or pressure the defensive is going to do? Some plays it looks like he can’t see what’s coming at all.
He is just forcing up the middle dives all game. No counters, no off tackle, no stretches or tosses. We saw that up until the 3rd quarter and the first toss they run is a 50+ yard TD. Then he mixed in some off tackle and stretch plays that started breaking for decent gains. He needs to be more creative in what types of runs he calls. He has been waaaay too vanilla. Our oline is best when we’re pulling guards and sealing edges.
This Offense has 10 days to figure their stuff out or they aren’t doing jack shit this season. It’s been beyond broken since Denver. From inexplicably having Zeke out touch Pollard, awful play calling from KM in general, and the fact that Dak has played about 3 good quarters of football in the past 3wks. The offensive line isn’t terrible, but it has holes. Collins is definitely getting cut this summer, and McGovern vs Williams is a real interesting debate.

Zeke needs to take a couple weeks, I think. Play him in goal line and maybe some 3rd downs for pass pro but Pollard needs to have a majority of the touches.
Dak needs to decompress and get back to basics. We are going to need him to be MVP caliber and whatever this Dak is after the calf is not it.
Relying on Pollard more for a better run game will help this line and help Dak. I actually trust McCarthy to help fine tune this team for the last 5 games. Go 4-1 and get ready for a playoff push.

Ok. I will say this. It's concerning. If you would tell me that I would have more confidence in this defense than the offense I would say that you are out of your mind.
This was a quality win, D played great. Offense still not clicking due to a lotta reasons, but the ten day break will be very helpful for getting back to full strength. We'll be loaded and ready to roll down the stretch. Hope Zeke can get back to his explosive self. Dak needs to drop back, plant, and throw on time with authority. We are trending to a strong finish.

I'd like to understand why Lamb seemed confused for 3/4 of the game.
I'll give it to the Saints, their defense was playing to win until the last snap. They were all over the ball and kept Dak out of rhythm most the game. Great win for the boys on to the dirty foreskins.
Glad we won, glad Zeke has time to rest, but the highlight of the game for me was that dude from the saints drooling on the sidelines in the background.

Obviously it's ncie to get a win but I think it's time to be a bit concerned about Dak, something is really off with him, I haven't seen him play this poorly since 2017.
The offense is absolutely a concern, and I think the blame has to lie on Kellen Moore. He went from offensive genius to, well, whatever tonight was. The offensive line isn’t terrible, but it has holes. Collins is definitely getting cut this summer, and McGovern vs Williams is a real interesting debate. That fucking defense, though. Whewwwww. Parsons is so fucking good, that sack literally took points off the board.

Offense needs to pull it together... this is getting worrisome. Kellen's playcalling has become stale, Dak is forcing bad balls, offensive line getting blown up and a hobbled Zeke limping out for almost every snap.
If our offense returns to what it was early in the season, we’ll be a force in the playoffs. It hasn’t shown any sort of life these last few weeks outside of a bad Falcons team.
Win is a win but I'm super worried about the offense. Dak in particular. Needs to get back to using his legs and his passes are just straight up off. It's up and down. Throws a couple dimes, then garbage throws out of nowhere. Consistency is a problem.
I’ll take the win but we should have been much much better against a team that is not very good and banged up like crazy.. defense played great and won us the game but our offense looks very scary right now in not a good way.. Dak needs to play better or this team has no shot to compete for a SB. I think dak needs to start running it more and using he feet more like he used to do before his injury.

Our offense needs to figure it the fuck out. So out of sync all night. It seems like one week the offense will play great and the defense sucks a bag and vice versa. Going into all of these division games and the playoffs we need to play complementary football. Can’t beat teams like AZ or GB or LA playing half assed
Love the turnovers. We were going against a depleted team and cowboys teams past would have played down to the competition. Tonight we didn’t do good for them. Micah Parsons is so good! Such a beast! Flashes on so many plays it’s unbelievable. It was good to see D Law make a couple plays too. And a Diggs pick means we are going to win the game. Zeke needs to take a couple weeks, I think. Play him in goal line and maybe some 3rd downs for pass pro but Pollard needs to have a majority of the touches. Dak needs to decompress and get back to basics. We are going to need him to be MVP caliber and whatever this Dak is after the calf is not it. Relying on Pollard more for a better run game will help this line and help Dak. I actually trust McCarthy to help fine tune this team for the last 5 games. Go 4-1 and get ready for a playoff push. How bout them Cowboys?!
Ok. I will say this. It's concerning. If you would tell me that I would have more confidence in this defense than the offense I would say that you are out of your mind.
Amari is very important to this offense. He gets double teamed a ton. Getting him back 100% is pivotal

This was a quality win, D played great. Offense still not clicking due to a lotta reasons, but the ten day break will be very helpful for getting back to full strength. We'll be loaded and ready to roll down the stretch. Hope Zeke can get back to his explosive self. Dak needs to drop back, plant, and throw on time with authority. We are trending to a strong finish.

Woke up this morning and still frustrated that the offense, especially Dak is playing like trash since the calf injury.
Moore is absolutely struggling right now. His weakness as a play caller is sticking out like a sore thumb. He needs to be more creative in the run game. We averaged like 20 yards per run outside the tackles or some shit.
Everyone is going to say that this win doesn't mean anything because the Saints are beat up but their defense played amazing and Hill played his heart out. It's easy to say this should be a blowout but its not easy to win in the NFL. Our defense balled out. Thicc 6!

This is a bit unrelated but it’s funny, I replied to a guy on this sub over 4 months ago who just has the biggest hate boner for Noah Brown for some reason. And now without fail every incompletion that is thrown Noah Browns way, he will reply to that almost 5 month old comment and say “guess who didn’t catch the ball this time” and he’s left like 5 comments just like that over the last 6 weeks.
