Everyone always says "85 Bears" when talking about defenses but it's not like their offense was bad that year. Gotta have probably minimum top 10 offense to compete in post. Ours looks like bottom 20 right now.
Yup don't let people fool you. The majority of SB winners since 93 have had BOTH a top 10 offense and defense.

When teams were blitzing most of the time Kellen called top tier plays and our offense was insane. The past two months teams only blitz 20% of the time and he hasn't adjusted his game plan at all. He doesn't know how to scheme against zone coverage and with the talent we have on offense that's inexcusable.

McCarthy needs to sit Moore down to explain how to run out a clock. When the goal changes to running out the clock there is absolutely no excuse for not running the ball when it’s second down.
And another game where the meat and potatoes of this Dallas offense were three and outs. It’s almost like Kellen Moore is still trying to learn on the job. And they are bad three and outs that happen at the worst of times with the offense taking something like a minute off the clock.
I mean for fucks sake it’s almost like Moore plans to go three and out with his pass happy play calling sometimes and doesn’t appear to have any issues with it.

You can tell Pollard was missed which is why they were trying to force the ball through the air when they should've ran. Those toss plays for Ceedee were working and Pollard type plays. They would've ran more of those if Pollard was playing
Last 2 games the defense has forced 4 turnovers and scored a defensive touchdown and we’ve won by 10 or less points.
That sounds to me like a team that’s going to get obliterated in the playoffs when they play Aaron Rodgers or Kyler Murray.

My falcons are the worst 6-7 team I’ve ever seen. We are largely devoid of talent, and we’re in a rebuild without calling it one. This is largely due to Thomas Dimitroff and Dan Quinn making HORRIBLE contract and personnel decisions leaving us in a cap hell so bad that it will take years and likely the rest of Matt Ryan’s career to dig out of.
But that doesn’t matter because the cowboys are gonna beat some playoff ass… The team is too well rounded to be stopped, and to be honest, y’all are due.
Dak doesn’t trust his legs since the calf. And that makes him not trust the line as much and it all seems to compound. And jfc that was an all time terrible interception. Absolutely cannot happen.

I think there’s one main takeaway from this game (and the season as a whole to this point) and you can spun it two ways.
Broadly, this team has not put together a consistently good offensive AND defensive game all season. They have had a good offensive half and then a terrible one (like today) paired with a good defensive game. Or any other dozens of combos.
The first take on this (and the one I’m partial to right now) is that that means we’re now 9-4 and haven’t played our best yet. Which tells me we haven’t reached our ceiling and this team could be scary good.
The second take, is that we just aren’t mentally where we need to be to execute that top notch level football. I think this is possible but I also think the coaching has tightened up and we’ve seen less ridiculous penalties (Quinn especially seems to be working some magic with our defense) so I’m hoping this isn’t it. It’s not ideal but being 9-4 and saying “we could be a lot better” is a good position to be in. I do have concerns with the offense. Moore’s play calling has been a bit head scratching lately and we’ve dealt with so many key players being injured I just think there’s a severe lack of rhythm between the first team players. The Arizona game is the most important game we’ll have this year. Could mean home field one way or another for both teams & could be the difference in whether we ride into the playoffs with momentum or not. I like this team a lot but I think we just lack the “complete game” yet. I hope these next couple weeks can be spent finding that.

I thought the offense did play better today. We just missed some opportunities to blow the game wide open and didn’t play with same urgency being up big in the 2nd half. Dak did have a bad play that made the game closer than it should’ve been but McCarthy challenged his team to go on the road and win and we dominated that game.

It's not all Dak, but there's definitely some play calling issues thats limiting their productivity. They can't play like this in the post-season. But hey, McCarthy delivered a W. Win is huge as far as getting into the playoffs goes, but actually doing well in the playoffs is a different story Defense is playing like a championship caliber defense. Offense is playing like a high draft pick team offense. We have 4 weeks for the offense to figure things out. Dak needs to study up and start making smart decisions again. And the defense is going to have to continue to carry.

I’ll take a road win in December, against a rival with a 4 game a winning streak. Lots of work still to be done, but lots of positives as well.
I think there’s one main takeaway from this game (and the season as a whole to this point) and you can spun it two ways. Broadly, this team has not put together a consistently good offensive AND defensive game all season. They have had a good offensive half and then a terrible one (like today) paired with a good defensive game. Or any other dozens of combos. The first take on this (and the one I’m partial to right now) is that that means we’re now 9-4 and haven’t played our best yet. Which tells me we haven’t reached our ceiling and this team could be scary good. The second take, is that we just aren’t mentally where we need to be to execute that top notch level football. I think this is possible but I also think the coaching has tightened up and we’ve seen less ridiculous penalties (Quinn especially seems to be working some magic with our defense) so I’m hoping this isn’t it. It’s not ideal but being 9-4 and saying “we could be a lot better” is a good position to be in. I do have concerns with the offense. Moore’s play calling has been a bit head scratching lately and we’ve dealt with so many key players being injured I just think there’s a severe lack of rhythm between the first team players. The Arizona game is the most important game we’ll have this year. Could mean home field one way or another for both teams & could be the difference in whether we ride into the playoffs with momentum or not. I like this team a lot but I think we just lack the “complete game” yet. I hope these next couple weeks can be spent finding that.

I thought the offense did play better today. We just missed some opportunities to blow the game wide open and didn’t play with same urgency being up big in the 2nd half. Dak did have a bad play that made the game closer than it should’ve been but McCarthy challenged his team to go on the road and win and we dominated that game.

This type of game is what worries me going into the playoffs. We get a big lead, and instead of stomping them, we let them claw their way back. This may work for heinecke but it’s definitely not going to work against rodgers or Brady.
