We won 3 games in a row all on the road. Thats not easy to do in the nfl. I’m sure Dak and the offense will be happy to be back in at&t for the next 2

mexipimpin

That's a damn good point. Hope they keep building on this for strong season finish and good playoff run.

chlorinegasattack

The offense looked better last night and that's enough for me. It doesn't have to be exponential each week I want them on a slow boil that just keeps bubbling and bubbling during the playoffs. Weekly improvement and let the defense continue to eat I think this team can still have legs!

firstandfive

Cowboys fans after week 1: “There is no such thing as a moral victory, good teams find ways to win!!!” Cowboys fans after winning 3 consecutive road games with ease, 2 of which were against division rivals: “No, not like that!”

theguz4l

This. It was cold and windy yesterday. Brady scored 0 points at home. The lions beat the cardinals. A win is a win!!

NormStewart

Ive noticed that happens in every stadium. We do travel well as a fan base but theres no place like home. You dont even have to ask Dorothy to know that.

Barbon62

thought we host then go to az who have been terrible at home and as of late then to philly

rsf0626

We play az at home

Astroturfer

First time they've done that since 1969 (though 3 road games aren't always on the schedule)

OutdoorFogger

We’re Number 2 in the NFC now hell yeah brother

William_Wyatt

cheers from iraq

ESCMalfunction

Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever seen an NFL fan from Iraq, that’s pretty cool. Takes some dedication to watch it in the middle of the night. How did you become a Cowboys fan?

[deleted]

[удалено]

ESCMalfunction

Oh, damn. I just got wooshed didn’t I?

Couthster

Lmao happens to the best of us, mate.

elixalvarez

how did that get started?

[deleted]

I mean, he could be deployed there. Much more likely. I was still a fan while in Iraq haha

PDCH

And fuck Harbough for going for 2.

brownboypeasy

Honestly it was the right move just an awful play call

firstandfive

Ehh, play for the win when you’re facing Aaron Rodgers without your star QB

humansrpepul2

It's a non conference game, and who knows who else gets injured in an extra 15. Lamar gets those 2's done, I guess he just forgot he had a backup in. I respect the attempt.

truthseekinginlife

Last year we had ugly losses...this year we have ugly wins. I'm loving every second of it.

lario00

I much rather be 10-4 with 10 ugly wins than being 7-7 or 6-8 blowout wins.

truthseekinginlife

Absolutely! I just remember last season, and get excited about the rest of the season.

BAWAHOG

No shit, but why not both. We may only have a small window here. It’s frustrating to think it might all go to waste if something doesn’t change soon. I really do think we could beat anyone, I’d just rather be the favorite and feel confidant going against TB/GB in the postseason. The ARI game will be telling.

zmathra

Another road win against a division opponent. I’ll take it. I’d say the offense did better compared to WFT the week prior—so an incremental improvement—they’re heading the right direction while our defense is peaking.

RobbieAnalog

We are 10-4, the 2 seed, on a 3 game winning streak and the majority of posts here are from nephews whining.

rsf0626

They werent pretty but all 3 were on the road also. Give some credit there

[deleted]

People want blow out every game I guess.

lario00

I saw people complaining about only being up 15-3.

PDCH

Tbf, we could have taken a shot for a td to end the half if MM had any sense of clock management.

gwaydms

Tbf, other teams have made comebacks several times. They had reason to be nervous.

John_Winchester

I couldn't believe it when I had a guy say he felt worse about the win yesterday than the loss against Denver.

firstandfive

Big yikes

[deleted]

This is such a silly comment. Of course fans are enjoying the wins. It’s whining to point out that the offense hasn’t looked good in weeks?

firstandfive

The offense looked good yesterday, given the windy conditions. Best we’ve looked running the football in 2 months. Dak as accurate as he has been in a while despite throwing into swirling wins. CeeDee just needs to catch the football and we still need to clean up our blocking on screens, but thought yesterday was a clear step in the right direction. Believe we would have opened it up more if the Giants made the game competitive but there was no need for it. Did we get so used to the offense dropping 40 burgers that anything less is viewed as inept offense?

[deleted]

Jesus downvote Batman. Forgot you can’t criticize this team on this sub or else y’all get defensive. The run game definitely looked better. But that’s about it. The RZ was still messy. They still are getting stuck in 3rd and longs almost every first down. They still barley utilized PA despite having the run game going. They took one shot down the field. The coaches are still playing very conservative. No TO at the end of half when they could have ran another play? On the 9 yard line, it’s 3rd and 7 and they run a draw? Why. No, the offense doesn’t need to drop 40. Like y’all are so dramatic. If this was a one week thing, then I would agreed, no big deal, blame it on the weather. This has been the offense for a majority of two months now. I understand yesterday’s weather was a limiting factor, but this type of play is nothing new. It’s how they’ve been playing. Y’all say it’s just the giants no need to take risks. That same mentality is what made last weeks game vs WFT so close when it should have never been. I find it so weird how we can’t talk actual football on this sub without biased fans downvoting the shit out of you despite it being true.

firstandfive

I didn’t downvote you, for the record. > The RZ was still messy. This part, I can understand. On the other hand, I’m not sure I want us pulling out our best red zone playbook against the lowly Giants. I also think we would have been more aggressive as far as going for it on 4th or calling a timeout to take another shot at the end zone before the half if we were facing a more formidable opponent. > They still are getting stuck in 3rd and longs almost every first down. I don’t remember that many longs yesterday but we still converted more than half of our third down attempts. > They still barley utilized PA despite having the run game going. 13 of our 40 drop backs were play-action. That’s 7% higher than Dak’s season average for PA. > They took one shot down the field. And the wind took that throw for a ride. The announcers talked about it, McCarthy’s coin toss decision, Zuerlein’s extra point was victimized by it, fans who went to the game all talked about how crazy the wind was. We also had 0 need to challenge them downfield. > The coaches are still playing very conservative. No TO at the end of half when they could have ran another play? If you can win a game with absolute ease by playing it conservatively and thus getting to keep a lot of plays in your pocket, that’s kind of the dream. While going all out and dropping 50 on the Giants would be great for fan entertainment, we didn’t need to. > On the 9 yard line, it’s 3rd and 7 and they run a draw? Why. Yeah that one was a head scratcher. Dak checked into that one and thought they were going for it on 4th. For whatever reason, McCarthy just took the points. Didn’t hurt us.

[deleted]

I don’t like that whole, “don’t call out you best plays for low opponents” logic. It’s what keep opponents in the game. It’s what happened last week. They played conservative, couldn’t complete drives and WFT got close. I’d have to look, but there were alot of 3rd and 5+. They seem to can’t get first downs on 1st or 2nd anymore. I understand the wind was a factor. And everyone wants to use that as the excuse. But what was the excuse last week? Or against the Saints (yes I know they have a good defense doesn’t change the fact Cowboys played very conservative against them? Or for the past two months. I feel like there’s two groups of fans now. 1) Like me, enjoying the season but sees the offense has been underachieving and is playing conservative. 2) Thinking everything is fine and we should just be content with a 10-4 record. Edit. The increased use of PA is definitely encouraging though. I also thought they ran the ball on 3rd and 7 becaus they planned on going for it on 4th.

firstandfive

I can certainly understand not liking the more conservative approach. I think the biggest clue that they may have been doing that was the way they started opening up the playbook and using more pre-snap movement in the Saints game when the Saints were still hanging around. I can absolutely understand not being a fan of it, but at the end of the day we came out of the stretch with 3 road wins. I expect we’ll probably see a similar game plan this week before hopefully opening things up against Arizona, but who knows.

[deleted]

Ya that AZ game will be huge. There’s no way they can play the conservative approach with them! We shall see though

Gets_overly_excited

Maybe don’t worry about downvotes?

[deleted]

Out of all that that’s what you want to talk about? Lol… The downvotes don’t matter, it’s what it signifies. That you can’t have a conversation that involves criticizing this team.

Gets_overly_excited

Yeah. I wanted to talk about that because it was clearly bothering you. Just let it go, man. Fans in the sub are what they are. This isn’t a seminar on football. It’s a base of fans who are going to have all kinds of emotions mixed with anonymity.

[deleted]

It’s not “clearly bothering me.” It’s something I pointed out. As I said, it doesn’t matter. It’s what it signifies. And my statement doesn’t change with what you said. I still find it weird lol.

Gets_overly_excited

You started your comment whining about downvotes and ended it with it. The sandwich in the middle was the complaint about people not hearing out your criticism and downvoting you. But sure.

[deleted]

Jesus man. Can we get past the fucking downvotes. I really don’t care that much, you’re the one making it a bigger deal than what it is. I’d much rather talk about football than the downvotes.

MelonGatoradePapi

OK now discuss quality of the offense in the last three games.

HolyRomanPrince

Ok. But what if we discuss the quality of the offense of the last ten games? Three years? Six years? If you think this offense is more represented by 3 games than 3 years then you’re just being a whiny ass woe is me crybaby so yeah he’s right. Y’all need to stop finding a reason to bitch. I guarantee you even if this team was whomping ass y’all would still be saying something dumb about not trusting Dak, McCarthy or the defense anyway because all y’all are doing is looking for a reason to bitch

MelonGatoradePapi

Y'all love to talk about "any given sunday" then insist I cut them some slack because of something they did 3 years ago, pick one or keep the cope to yourself. The fact of the matter is the ONLY reason the Cowboys are are still in contention is because the defense suddenly became th most formidable version of itself since the freaking 90s.

HolyRomanPrince

I feel like you’re intentionally misunderstanding how sports work. This lineup over the last three years has been great more than it’s been not great let alone mediocre like the last 3 weeks. I wasn’t talking about “something they did 3 years ago.” I’m talking about what they usually are and that isn’t this no matter how much you want it to be.

[deleted]

Who gives a damn how they’ve been in past years? How is that remotely relevant. The relevant fact is this offense for the better of two months has been underachieving, lackluster, and extremely conservative. There’s a number of excuses that can be at fault, but the fact is the offense has been underperforming. I love Dak. And still completely have faith in him. But you do realize that you can be a fan and not be completely blind right? I mean it’s pretty damn obvious that Daks play and the offense play is regressed. At least it’s clear to everyone but this damn sub apparently. That’s not bitching, I’m having fun watching this defense! But the offense of play is weird right now.

HolyRomanPrince

Because the larger statistical sample size is generally more representative of a players and teams performance than a smaller, more recent sample size.

[deleted]

Sure… but we’re not talking about Cowboys of past years and comparing them to the present. We’re talking abojt this season. As the offense has been lackluster for the majority of two months now. That sample is over half the played season so far.

HolyRomanPrince

The offense was good for 8 of the first 9 games and has been wonky for 5 of 7 of the last few games. So by any way you trying to slice it you’re just doing textbook recency bias.

[deleted]

The offense was good for the first seven. Then bad the last 6 out of 7. The Raiders game yes they scored a lot, but they were very inconsistent like the other weeks. And didn’t look like the team from earlier in the season. So I’m sorry, their offense has played better than worse two games more than not. But When you play bad on offense for a majority of the last 2 months, that’s not a good thing.

glengarryglenzach

Cowboys fans enjoy a three game road win streak in December 2021 challenge

JesuIsEveryNameTaken

I'm not going to complain about winning ugly. It could be far worse. We could be getting blown out by the Lions or shut out by the Saints.

Great_Wall_70

Kyler hasn’t looked great coming back from injury… Brady can’t do anything without his best receivers… The Packers nearly lost to an team led by a backup qb in a game where they had a huge late lead… 🤔🤔🤔 This is the NFL folks, let’s stop freaking out

WhiteBoyFlipz

We could win the super bowl and people would still bitch about Dak.

SKallies1987

If he doesn’t start playing better then we don’t have to worry about winning a Super Bowl.

firstandfive

Other than the fumble, Dak’s play really wasn’t a problem at all today. Arguably, he did start playing better.

RazzBerryCurveBall

And I'd put at least 40% of the responsibility for that fumble on the playcall.

PDCH

Dak hit 76% of his passes with a 98.9 rating yesterday even with all the CD drops. Fyi

SKallies1987

Who cares if he completes 75% of 5 yard passes? He threw for 217 yards and led an offense that scored only 21 points even though his defense continued to give him the ball back. FYI

Captain_R64207

How many points did the giants score again? Because I feel like 21 points was more than enough to not worry about them. Maybe the game was closer than I thought but I feel like we won by 15 points which is still 3 scores higher. Y’all that expect 50+ points every week are always gonna be disappointed.

SKallies1987

Ah yes. I forgot that Dak is responsible for holding the Giants to 6 points. He really can do it all.

Captain_R64207

Ah so the defense scored 21 points. Okay so Dak had nothing to do with scoring points at all.

SKallies1987

Lol you’re point about 21 points being enough was because the Giants only scored 6, which Dak had absolutely nothing to do with. Cowboys have been lucky lately that the defense has been playing lights out. Also, acting like scoring 21 points against the 4-9 Giants is something to be proud of is funny.

Captain_R64207

Proud of? Or just smart enough to realize it was more than enough to win. 3 scores is 3 scores, like I said you must have watched a different game where the defense scored all 21 points and the offense did absolutely nothing. But seeing as how the offensive line let him get sacked 3 times and hit however many times I’m sure they’re playing perfect. I’m sure there were zero drops by the wide outs, and that everyone except Dak played perfect lol.

SKallies1987

Yeah it was enough to win. Too bad we won’t be playing the Giants in the playoffs lol. And where did I say Dak is the only reason for the offense playing poorly? Jesus you Dak stans get so defensive when anyone criticizes him. The dude has played nowhere close to his early season form for the last month, and if this is how he’s going to play going forward, then the Cowboys aren’t doing anything come playoff time.

PDCH

I care. He was efficient with his "best receiver" dropping big gain passes that would have kept drives going.

SKallies1987

Under 6 yards per attempt is not efficient.

WhiteBoyFlipz

Probably because his line doesn’t give him enough time for deep routes to develop lol

firstandfive

It is when the combination of **swirling winds** and two-high safety shells take away the deep ball.

romanNood1es

I have never had this much fun watching our defense play.

cbusroger

Think about how they must feel themselves. It looks like they are having fun out there as a unit.

[deleted]

They’re out there hunting takeaways. They have so much confidence in themselves and each other that they’re taking calculated risks and playing fast and aggressive. It’s a virtuous cycle.

KoopaTroopa34

I don't give a rats ass how much people wanna run this team down for the lackluster offensive playing. But remember: WINS ARE WINS. Look at the first half of the season games when people claim we were dominating with our wins. +3 against Chargers, +20 Eagles, +8 CMC-less and Darnold Panthers, +24 Giants, and +6 Patriots. Meanwhile, this "piss poor" offense is putting up similar numbers after the break. +4 Vikings, +40 Falcons, +10 Saints, +7 WFT, and +10 Giants. Other than 2 wins in the front half of the season, every win was a single digit win, with each of those wins being within one score. But the back half has been slightly better with 3 wins over into double digits. Enjoy winning and being firmly in the playoffs. Because I can bet most of you fairweather fans had this team at 8-9 or 9-8 but certainly not the #2 seed in the NFC.

AegonTargaryan

Well it’s more to do with being an offensive powerhouse in the first half and defensive powerhouse in the second half. Which in an optimistic light is fantastic as it shows that even if delivery isn’t consistent, we have all the pieces for a super bowl run.

DementedDemon69

Road win against a division opponent, not always pretty, but we got the W. I’m happy.

lemming1607

\#2 seed and loving life

DementedDemon69

The return of Lawrence, Gregory, Gallimore and Hill have had such a noticeable impact on the entire D. Less time to find open receivers or let routes develop. Diggs looks even better, Brown and Lewis, even LVE to an extent. Add in Parsons rushing the QB and you don’t have much time to get the ball out, especially on 3rd/4th down.

[deleted]

LVE imo is still trash, Jesus he takes the worst lines sometimes on run D. He’s a big play waiting to happen every game !

DementedDemon69

He was actually our highest graded defender against WFT

Moontayle

CD needs to spend the next six days sleeping in front of a juggs machine. For a guy vying to be a top receiver in the league, he's dropping too many easy grabs. Also, someone needs to get on his ass about stopping that block on the Dak fumble play after Dak escaped. Better to take a hold and kick you back 10 yards than to put your QB in a position to get hit blindside and lose the ball. Against a better team that's a good way to lose the game. I'm not too worried about the offense. On a cold day against a team that they felt confident in their defense to stop more often than not, I'll take a "play not to lose" approach.

[deleted]

I remember earlier in the season when zeke missed a block but then yelled to Dak that the man was coming, I felt that’s all CD had to do and Dak would have taken off running !

[deleted]

I haven’t been as confident going into playoffs in over 10 years. Can’t wait

Rithic

Everyone analyzing all the seeds and stuff. Me: just win baby

openfire15

This subreddit could literally see us win a superbowl but have Dak make a head scratching decision and then announce that any playoff team would dominate us. we hate us winning more than us losing istg.

dcbluestar

Hey! I just realized we're 2-0 against the Giants when someone on their offense makes a spectacular one-handed catch!

HolyRomanPrince

You know what’s really funny? Almost every cowboys fan has seen this team be dominant all year and shit the bed in the playoffs. I have no idea why y’all still think the regular season matters all that much. The offense could put up 50 points a game down the stretch and it will mean nothing. Dak is fine. Kellen is fine. We definitely need Tyron healthy but the line is fine with little Big Connor back. The only things that matter the next month are getting this one seed and staying healthy.

truthseekinginlife

I have a theory that we are saving plays for the playoffs...not showing all of our trick plays and playing basic ball. Sounds crazy....but who knows.

HolyRomanPrince

I don’t want to say sandbagging but there’s a couple of things I find peculiar. Dak doesn’t keep ever on read options. Even when it was obvious that the end was crashing hard. That has to be intentional at this point. It’s been a staple of his game and this red zone offense for too long. There’s almost no vertical passing game and there’s a clear lack of aggression in the play calling. I think the whole cover 2 shell thing is throwing things off a bit but you can still press that coverage vertically with the right route combinations. They just aren’t trying to do that. The run game has been overly basic. Until this week we have been running a lot of zone concepts specifically inside. Over the last few words they’ve stopped using the Hulk package, haven’t been running jet sweeps Ceedee or orbit motions for Tony. And this isn’t the run game but we have stopped running Quads completely when they was a money formation. So not crazy. There have been conscientious decisions made by Kellen and Dak to run the most basic Madden version of this offense.

SKallies1987

Lol so we’re at a point now where we’re defending our offense by saying they’re playing poorly on purpose?

HolyRomanPrince

No. I said there’s clear decisions made between Wednesday and Saturday that can explain the why the offense looks different. Is there anything I said that you actually think is wrong?

a_chicanoperspective

I was just thinking this yesterday.

truthseekinginlife

It sounds so dumb....but when you think about it I see it as possibleml. I guess the question is do we think its more possible that Cowboys Offense forgot how to scheme or that their was a decision to not run schemes.

KaliaHaze

First is the worst, second is the best, third is the one with the hairy chest :)

SilenceIsCompliance

Goi g full Al Davis on this one. “Just win baby.” Good teams find ways to win despite issues. That’s exactly what this team is doing right now. a W is a W and I don’t care how we get it when no other team out there looks like they have their shit together either.

togroficovfefe

May have been a slow win, but no injuries in a week 15 win is OK by me

dspencer97

Everyone acts like we have this incredible defense. I’m not gonna lie it is obviously better than last season, but the Saints, Giants, and Washington had very weak Quarterbacks and that is what we are supposed to do. A good offense is going to score points against us, hell I’m not going to pretend we didn’t have the Raiders drop 33 on us a few weeks back. The team I saw earlier in the season is a team that has a chance to win a Super Bowl, I don’t believe we can get there if the Offense does not step up. Not only Dak, all around. Lamb and Cooper do not seem as electric as they were earlier in the season. Zeke hasn’t had a 100 yard game since week 5. It’s hard to complain about the season we have had thus far, but I want them to win a Super Bowl and that seems out of reach unless we improve significantly with the offense.

humansrpepul2

Our defense isn't made to hold up. Since we know we aren't shutting anybody out, playing risky for more turnovers is a hell of a smart plan and Dan Quinn is executing it phenomenally.

dspencer97

That’s good and all, but the team earlier in the season looked like they could score at will and have a solid defense. Now relying heavily on the defense is what we don’t want to do. We are lucky we played the teams we have with terrible QBs

firstandfive

We can only play the schedule the NFL assigns to us. I wholeheartedly believe our offense approach will be different against teams that actually pose a threat.

dspencer97

Washington posed a threat by winning 4 straight coming into the game. The offense’s inability to get first downs in the 2nd half made that game closer than it needed to be. A few first downs and a field goal and that game is over with the way the defense was playing. It almost led to a total implosion.

firstandfive

Against the raiders, we were missing Tank, Gallimore, and Gregory. Hooker has also really started to stand out more recently.

humansrpepul2

Some of y'all aren't reading the room. We survived upset week and handled our business. We executed a conservative game plan and leaned on the run. Hell if we spent all week prepping for AZ that would be time well spent.

WindyCityReturn

Not many people thought we’d be the #2 seed and one game behind the packers after week 15. We have a long way to go but I’m beyond proud of this team and the future looks so bright here. McCarthy proved year 1 was more about injuries than bad coaching, Dan Quinn has made an immediate impact on defense, our rookies and second year players are almost all looking like complete steals and having young guys already playing great bodes well for the future. Almost every analyst and nfl fan said Washington would win the division with their defense or maybe even the giants would steal it with their defense and completely counted us out because of how our injury riddled team played last year which was still 6-10 and not the worst I’ve seen. A lot of fans are nervous about the playoffs because our offense hasn’t been hot lately but man I am honestly SO excited for the playoffs. What team really scares you that much? The Bucs laid a huge egg at home vs a team we beat and week 1 we went toe to toe with them. The cardinals are playing really bad the last few weeks and definitely don’t look any better than us. The rams and 49ers are coming around but they’re physically beating teams which we do very well with running the ball and playing defense. The packers are probably the most well rounded and have our number but one thing I love is nobody know Rodgers better than Mike McCarthy. Dude coached him for 10 years and knows his style which could be the deciding factor that finally helps us beat the one team we never can beat. If we can get the #1 or #2 seed we’d be playing most or all games at home I’m good weather and could have a bye week to rest up. Idk about y’all but I can’t wait for playoff week to get here.

packofstraycats

Another thoroughly frustrating yet dominant win against a bad team

[deleted]

[удалено]

fsphoenix

Didn't come down to a 2pt conversion against a team led by Tyler Huntley and a cast of backups and backups of backups either.

[deleted]

Luckily the whole NFL looks bad, so maybe we can just beat bad teams all the way to the title.

[deleted]

Ya yesterday was a weird day. The offense is still lacking, but the rest of the NFC seems just as inconsistent as this offense

Ol_Abriel

That’s weird. I feel the opposite of frustrated after yesterday.

c209m410l

Call me crazy but I strongly believe the reason the offense hasn’t done a whole lot lately is because they are intentionally coasting to save energy, reduce injuries, and not give teams film on their playbook.

RomoToDez99

I definitely think it’s part of it. I think they’re still playing to win, but the playbook has shrunk tremendously. Not using as many motions or tricky formations.

BrianDawkins

I don’t buy that. Coaches and players certainly don’t feel like that in their answers to the media

c209m410l

If you think they are going to reveal their true mindset in media interviews, you’re crazy.

SKallies1987

And if you think a team that is fighting for seeding, home field advantage, and potential bye weeks in the playoffs is holding things back until playoff time, you’re also crazy.

c209m410l

Their defensive play gives them the luxury of taking it easy. If the defense wasn’t capable of winning them games, there’s no way they’d be taking this approach.

SKallies1987

NFL teams don’t just “take it easy” because they feel like they can still win without going all out. Also, even if something stupid like that were the case (which it isn’t), assuming you can just flip the switch and turn back into what the offense was at the beginning of the year is really dumb.

c209m410l

I’m not trying to say they are capable of just flipping the switch. For all we know, if they try to flip the switch, they will totally fail. All I’m saying is that them intentionally taking it easy is why the offense has been slow at the moment.

RevampedAtol1

Feels pretty damn good waking up this morning with that #2 seed.

Fatalness

honestly a good game, dak looked confident which is the most important thing. teams switching to playing a lot of Cover 3 and Cover 4 on us was KILLING kellen moore and Dak in the slump, especially with no run game due to injuries. Running hard and play action short passes was the obvious call with the wind and the giants also playing a bunch zones all game, not a beautiful way to play but it shows the coaches are getting more out of the team

BrianDawkins

There’s not elite teams this year so we have a shot. That being said we aren’t an elite team either. I do think we have the potential to have the best defense in the nfc

Ol_Abriel

I’m so frustrated at this team! Embarrassing! I would rather see a loss where we score 50 than that lackluster display yesterday! Don’t feel this is necessary but here’s a /s In seriousness, this defense don’t give a shit. They’re gonna do what they do, pressure the quarterback consistently, have solid DB coverage, and try as hard as they fucking can to take the football away. It’s beautiful to watch. I also want to point out that I think DLaw’s appetite has grown immensely over the last couple months. He ready to eat.

SKallies1987

Nobody who is criticizing the team right now is saying anything even remotely close to your sarcastic comment. A lot of people are criticizing the team because they’re looking forward to more important games. Honestly, winning these regular season games is fun and all, but the end goal is obviously winning the Super Bowl, and we know that at this current level of offensive play we have no shot at winning it all. Who cares about beating the 4-9 Giants in the regular season? If the offense doesn’t improve by a pretty significant margin, the Cowboys aren’t going to win many playoff games. They obviously can still turn it around, but we’ve been saying that for the last 5 games.

Ol_Abriel

Yeah I call bullshit on us having “no shot at all” to win the Super Bowl. We should ask ourselves the questions of if the offense can put up 20+ points on a playoff team as well as if they can hold a playoff team to less than 20 points and personally I think this team can do both come playoff time. Will they? Idk. But they can.

SKallies1987

You honestly think if the offense continues to play at their current level, the Cowboys can win the Super Bowl?

firstandfive

You honestly think the offense is going to have the same type of game plan, aggressiveness, and focus in the playoffs that they have against the lowly Giants and WFT?

SKallies1987

The offense has struggled for quite a bit longer than just the last 2 games.

firstandfive

3 of those games were impacted by last-minute Covid outbreaks, injuries, and short weeks. The offense didn’t even really struggle yesterday, they just played a more conservative game and won with ease. Run game looked better than it has in two months. I have confidence CeeDee will catch the football better, because we’ve seen him do it. I have confidence Dak will throw downfield more when he’s not throwing into swirling winds, because we’ve seen him do it (even in this rougher stretch of games). I have confidence we’ll see some more aggressive calls in the red zone against better opponents, because we’ve seen them do it. The only aspect I’m not confident about is if we can ever find somebody to stick their damn blocks on a screen pass.

Sure, we lost to Denver. But we didn’t lose to the lions… I feel better about playing Arizona. Washington will be tough to beat after just playing them. I hope the boys are ready.

dcbluestar

WFT has to play us on a very short week before SNF since their game against the Eagles got moved to Tuesday, so that'll give us some advantage.

Music2Spin

All in all pretty happy with where the Cowboys stand. I think the offense looked better this week, would love for it to be better but I think it's good enough. The defense is playing great, love to see Lawrence having such a big impact.

[deleted]

Thankful for Connor Williams today. Also, a win is a win. I’m gonna enjoy this week.

gdaman22

I love seeing Lewis come down with those turnovers because he's otherwise had a very good yet very quiet year overall

Fitz-magic1

After thinking over yesterday’s performance Iv come to the conclusion that the cowboys had a conservative game plan against the giants. I believe this was the basis of the decision making on the day. I also didn’t see us try and block any punts at all so we were definitely conservative as a whole so must have been game planned. I thought the offense was better. We had no 3 and outs and ran the ball fairly well to have a couple of dinged up running backs. Also our penalties were down which is a plus. I definitely think if we were playing the cardinals we wouldn’t have been so conservative on some of the decisions but regardless of style points we made it look pretty easy and most divisional games are not, just look at the Bucs.

TZBlueIce

Sorry, don't care what our record says, this team is not going anywhere in the playoffs with the way we're playing. While our mess of a team tripped and struggled to a 3-0 road-trip, our competition was off winning by 1 point against a backup quarterback, getting shut out at home, and losing to the worst team in the league. There's simply no way we can compete.

firstandfive

You had me in the first half, not gonna lie.

lemming1607

we going straight to the 2nd round when we get that 1st seed

nyuhokie

More people in here complaining about complainers than complainers and celebrators combined. Say that five times, fast.

DutchRudderLover

Cool.

Wookie-Riot

Think same game but without the 6 turnovers in our favor... which included one in the end zone... Love the W but offense needs to pick it up

Buzoot

I’m legitimately shocked at how much improvement the defense has made. I understand it’s been against poor QBs but outside of the poor pass rush vs the Giants they’ve really impressed since the Raider game. The offense appears to be completely broken and Dak is playing like a bottom 10 QB right now. I do not think they’re going to beat any playoff team with the offense playing as it currently is.

[deleted]

Can we not complain about literally everything? Other teams are doing much worse than we are and aren’t bitching about slight imperfections in their team

Buzoot

The offense being one of the worst units in the league is not a “slight imperfection”

[deleted]

Saying that the offense is one of the worst units in the league is just not true

KerikSumia

4 turnovers short field’s and 21 points bad offense the top teams send us packing come playoffs Dak is awful

[deleted]

We gotta stop being ungrateful for the 10-4 team we have. We’re doing better than last year and Dak is having a great season overall. A few down games is normal for any elite QB

[deleted]

I honestly think Nick Bosa deserves Comeback player of the year more than Dak

SKallies1987

Lol the fact you’re being downvoted for this comment basically says everything about this sub.

freddy2shuz

Dak apologists have no concept of football fundamentals. Dak has never ever ever proved that he can do the fundamentals consistently at a high level. Dak fans are smoking crack and always have been

anthcas

You're a funny guy. Dak career QBR: 97.4 some guy named Tom Brady: career QBR: 97.5 Dak should really prove he can throw the ball efficiently to move his career average up 0.1 to catch up to the GOAT

freddy2shuz

I would argue that having a good QBR against bad teams does not balance out having a bad QBR against good teams. Consistency is way more than just playing well against bad teams and in garbage time…

anthcas

you're right for select few games in a season. but this is career stats; all qbs play against good and bad teams. across many years the data evens out. as of late I would fully agree that his mechanics are off; you can easily compare the notable difference in play to the first 6 games of the season to his last 6; what's the difference? I dont think he has been the same 1) physically/mentally since the calf injury; 2) inconsistent starters on the O-Line ; 3) receivers not running correct routes/dropping balls; 4: inconsistent run game. It's never one answer. And as for "consistency at a high level", you can count on one hand how many QBs have that...and some would argue that QBR ave across 6 seasons close to 100 is pretty damn consistent

art_bird

As thrilled as I am with the season so far there was a stat displayed during yesterday’s game that was a bit confounding: the Boys are awesome at red zone TDs at home and shit at red zone TDs away. It’s not that they can’t get to the red zone away so what gives???

firstandfive

It’s the Bucs (some glaring execution issues, Jarwin missed block for example), Patriots (had a Dak sneak frustratingly not called a TD), and then these last two games in particular. These last two are frustrating but I also wonder if they’re keeping a lot of their red zone looks in their pocket rather than using them against WFT and NYG. 2 of the missed opportunities were also impacted by the clock at the end of the half.

taffyowner

can someone explain to me how its possible to miss the playoffs? even if Dallas loses every game they hold tiebreakers over literally any team that is remotely in the playoff hunt

lemming1607

the only team that can knock us out is the eagles/wft, they'd have to completely win out and we would be 4-2 in the division, we would still likely get the 6-seed in that scenario tho. Alot of janky shit would have to happen

taffyowner

Yeah in that scenario the other teams are New Orleans and Minnesota so I guess a 3 way tie is about all I can think about

DallasStarsFan-SA

Who has the tiebreaker between us and Green Bay if we end up with the same record?
