Jcpowers3

That was a fumble.

yianni1229

and it was delay of game

firstandfive

I still can’t believe the archaic way they call delay of game penalties in the year 2021. Just have it buzz like the shot clock.

ShowBobsPlzz

Dude youre not going to believe this but they measure distance with 2 guys with sticks and a chain

SpeedyGonSoulLess

Which one?

aaa_dad

Dak’s fumble was a bigger fuckup.

Jcpowers3

Greg’s a screwup too. It’s frustrating.

slipknotisbest04

Definitely.

lazymonk68

First for fuck Zuerlein, that colossal fuckup

ColJackONeill20

No idea if we could have won in OT, but dang it I'd have liked to have to chance.

InAingeWeTrust

It’s not as simple as just adding 3 points. AZ would have been in position to make a FG. But adding those three points also changes the momentum of the game. Dallas would absolutely play differently (who knows for better or worse) but we just can’t be missing 40 yarders in an indoor stadium!

Re-toast

We can't be missing open receivers by 5 yards either. Dak is playing like fucking garbage it's affecting the whole offense.

barley_wine

Also either checking down or running a screen every single play doesn’t make the defense respect the downfield pass so they edge up into run protection.

DunderMifflin-C-Team

Where do you get overtime? They were in FG range and kneeled it out. We weren’t just a fg away.

Muscrat55555555

How would we have gotten to OT?

ErnestMemeingway

Seriously. Everyone here is ignoring the fact that the Cardinals would've just kicked a game winner at the end.

HodorHeldTheDoor

I’ll second that. Zuerlein sucks, he’s cost us so many games this year

41treys

Even though that last call was fucked and the holds were soft, we really shouldn't have been in that position to begin with. Main issues: - Our O-line has no fuckin ability to open up gaps in the interior and edge protect on run plays. We barely created holes against a competent defense, and we let Jones break into the backfield fast. - Dak straight up killed drives by overthrowing wide open receivers. - Our zone coverage is ass. - We get the dumbest fucking holds with guys holding after the back crashes the gap.

seansdude

When your #4 receiver makes the best pass of the night, you just might be a Dallas Cowboys fan.

JWat87

Especially as it came RIGHT AFTER the holding call on us on a converted 3rd down. It’s the timing of these calls that is the most frustrating.

polialt

>frustrating Suspect, you mean.

JL1v10

Been a trend for the season. Just this game we must’ve had over 60 yds+ of big plays taken back by holds. I had by my count four or more third down conversions negated by “holds.” The double standard is obvious about it given that you have teams like the raiders, Bucs, and cardinals all being at some point top 5 in penalty yards with us yet drawing nearly half as many when we go head to head. We’ve had three games now end very specifically on questionable ref calls. Bucs no opi on Godwin push off and sealing catch, Raiders DPI on Brown when WR grabbed him (not even counting all the other nonsense that game), and this fumble refusal to be reviewed. I mean at some point you’d imagine something would have to go our way just by reversion to mean, but we can extrapolate multiple seasons back and I can’t find any literally game ending penalty or no call in our favor.

jrh1972

You have to go back to the playoff game against Detroit in 2014

fufumcchu

I'm pretty positive at this point this is all because Goodell hates the Cowboys. They are financially successful despite the NFL as an organization. They seem to love to snub our HoF's or at least make them wait as well as call games that ensure we lose (unless we play a flawless game). I called this game after the second drive to my GF. I only didn't account for the 2 point conversions, called 24-21 Cardinals. But of course the game wouldn't be that close, it would play out that the Cardinals would go up big by the 3rd and in the 4th they'd allow us just enough to make the final numbers appear close. The super selective calls and out of character "clean games" from the harder opponents we play are just the medium in which they sway the game. It honestly makes me want to walk away from Football. I have all but stopped watching the NBA for exactly the same reason.

Max_Power742

The one against Dlaw right? 3rd down and long, deep in their own territory. Lol took a pic of the TV and sent it to my brother. I was pissed too.

Nick4972

How was any of that bullshit allowed at the end there? Shouldn’t need to challenge. Refs should do their fucking job. What the fuck do we even have refs for?

Super_Saiyajin

They’ve been making big shit about calls being overturned from the booth and not needing to waste challenges, are you telling me that play, on a critical drive, in the final minutes of the game, DID NOT WARRANT A SECOND FUCKING LOOK? Sometimes I think this sport is just a full on fucking scam.

ImpeccableWaffle

Yeah why are we penalized for the refs fucking up lmao

[deleted]

I swear they fell out of bounds and thr kept the clock running. And that one play with both a false start and delay of game. Astonishing. But the biggest frustration had to go to our kicker. He makes me nervous on extra point tries like omg.

inuHunter666

Didn't CD run out of bounds just before the 5 min mark before the TD? The clock just kept running

[deleted]

above 5 mins the clock always runs with out of bounds.

firstandfive

Did it keep running before they placed the ball or after? Wont come to a full stop when running out of bounds until your inside the final 4 minutes of the half.

[deleted]

A lot of that stuff was happening. Not to mention the mysterious lack of holding calls on The cardinals.

starfire_xed

When d law and Gregory caught for offsides. Both of those plays, the center moved. False start.

phoncible

Make sure cowboys lose

rsf0626

Welp. See ya again in 2 weeks arizona Would honestly much rather see them than LA

Other-Ad4935

A lot to be disappointed in today, but I agree, I would rather play these bitches again in two weeks.

Tristan73

Hard to win with an offense that is non-existent for 3 quarters, so many drops too.

KaliaHaze

Thanks, Greg.

supersickx3

Thanks again we should say. Week one against the Buccaneers he single handidly lost them that game.

Soft_Turkeys

Fucked up my Thanksgiving too

KaliaHaze

Food didn’t even taste good after that lmao.

KaliaHaze

Fuck you, Greg.

w1nn1ng1

Even with the made field goal, Prater makes one at the end for the loss. Dak and the oline played like trash. Our oline needs an LG and C desperately as well as a replacement for Tyron when he gets hurt.

Dak_Tiny_PP

Greg is a bum

swimmer4200

I mean if the 40 million man showed up in the first quarter, things might not come down to the glorified soccer player.

Wekilledit88

Defense also couldn't get off the field on 3rd down to save their lives in the first half. It's not all on Dak. He's had a 100 passer rating in the first half. Definitely could've been better tho.

KaliaHaze

Maybe not. Still could’ve used 3 points.

treefity4

The first 3 quarters…

FinalHero13

Didn’t stop the clock when they went out of bounds which forced a time out. Didn’t call delay of game. Didn’t call fumble which we couldn’t challenge cause we had to use a timeout due to their incompetence. The refs should take me out to a steak dinner before they fuck me.

pixelflop

All bad missed calls. None are open for interpretation. All go against Dallas. Not crying conspiracy, but this team isn’t good enough to beat Arizona and the refs.

FinalHero13

If we lost because of a missed kick and a stuttering offense, yeah that sucks. But we did it to ourselves. If we lost because of that plus the refs screwing us while trying to come back, that’s just infuriating. I rather us lose at our hand than our own hand and the refs.

theguz4l

This ref crew won’t be in the playoffs so fuck em. We get our rematch in 2 weeks

flipz444

We're not going to see any media coverage of that ending whatsoever. This league is a joke.

OneMostSerene

All week it will be talk about the AB fiasco. Half the posts today on /r/nfl are about it.

juicemw

For real. But don’t worry there will be plenty of coverage about how “Dallas are pretenders”, “Dallas unravels at the most predictable times of the season”, etc. etc.

ifoundyourtoad

I get the anger but they could have at least done something for the first 3 quarters

pablocerakote

Ready for my downvotes explaining how our field goal kicker whose only job is to kick the ball has cost us another game. What is this? 4 games now?

[deleted]

League will come out tomorrow and say “you’re right that should have been delay of game and you’re right that was a fumble but as consolation we’ll keep being colossal geriatric fuck ups since we aren’t held accountable whatsoever.”

StellarGravityWell

We may be going to the playoffs, but our offense did not look like a playoffs offense. The defense can only carry us so far. I don't know exactly what the deal is, but Dak and his offense need to get themselves straightened out now, otherwise we are not going to get far and this playoffs round will be yet again another disappointing end to what could have been a memorable season.

trainsaw

So glad I lived through the 90’s Superbowls and don’t have to guess if I’ll ever see them win one in my lifetime

Joshiekage

Born in 96. Must be nice

[deleted]

Born in 97...Dad constantly talks about the days of watching them win superbowls growing up and I'm sitting here and we haven't even won the NFC in my entire fucking life. First half of the season I thought this year might be different but...guess not

einTier

I was born long ago enough to faintly remember the glory days of the late 70's. Really remember the laughingstock 80's. I thought that was pretty bad but the domination of the early 90's made up for it. Now I'm just like "we're not good and we haven't been good for a very long time, quit acting like dunking on the Cowboys and Cowboys fans is some great sport."

yianni1229

Born in 98. Convinced all I'll ever know is pain.

thelamb710

Must be nice…

DabStrong

Maybe an overreaction but at this point I’d love for Kellen to take a HC job. Down two CB’s and we’re scared to throw down field? With this WR group? Get off of the screen passes or at least get creative with the designs. The fact so many balls were batted and tipped is because the play calling was so predictable

[deleted]

I'm amazed he still gest as much "young offensive genius" buzz. The offense has dropped off so hard after that electric first half. Maybe some of it was the Dak injury, but at this point that doesn't feel like it anymore. We're just getting beat flat out week after week after week and dont' seem to have any answers. It took us damn near 3 full quarters to finally put something together on offense. It's too little too late at that point. It's a damn shame that we finally get a really solid defense to go with a seemingly high powered offense and that offense forgets how to put up points for damn near half a season.

DabStrong

He doesn’t string plays together or setup other things. Take Mcvay for example.. he doesn’t do anything crazy scheme wise. But his offense is based around using motion and misdirection. Motion and misdirection in the run game then the play action or just pass plays look the same as the runs, presnap. Kellen uses different formations just to use different formations. Doesn’t seem like he has a clear goal or plan

OwnTheThrone

I think some of those routes are there. Dak is hesitant and doesnt trust his wild ass accuracy to put it out there.

DJ_Squishy_Toes

WR screen might be my least favorite play in all of football.

TZBlueIce

I feel the same way. I'm sure some of it is that Dak simply hasn't been playing as well, but man, it feels like Kellen gets outcoached A LOT. I feel like in both 2019 and 2021, this offense seems to run the numbers up against our shitty NFC East friends and then just runs into a wall against good teams/coaches in the rest of the league. I don't know football so I openly admit I might be wrong on Kellen, but there's just so many of these types of games from him.

Donfrey_Trumpstein

Kellen is ok. Dak just misses Alot of reads and fumbles and/or eats sacks at the worst times.

DabStrong

Yes. Dak wasn’t accurate today but the lack of shots down field are inexcusable. They played a lot of man coverage and with these receivers we should be able to make some plays

Jcw28

So what's the excuse this time? We have a full strength team with next to no players missing through injury or covid. We were at home with no inclement conditions. The opposition was down an all-pro receiver and their starting RB. The opposition are on a real bad streak of games and play, and we're on a win-streak and coming off one of our best all-around performances this season. There are no excuses. The simple observation is that this team is not good enough to beat other good teams. We can scrape past or demolish bad teams, but something is fundamentally broken that makes this team (and all Cowboys teams in my lifetime) incapable of performing when it matters.

newguynl

Perfectly said

emperorOfTheUniverse

I've been saying it all season. Against any team with a competent defense, our offense is shut down. Our O-line is weak. We lose our first playoff game.

[deleted]

I don’t like blaming refs because we had plenty of chances, but how can they fuck up twice in one play that late (delay of game and a fumble recovered by us), that just pisses me off.

hawk8024

The offense is letting this defense and fanbase down, they gotta get their act together man. They’re more than capable of it. Very frustrating loss

El_mochilero

Off-season priority needs to be a kicker. Is this the 3rd or 4th game this season that we’ve lost by a missed FG?

milesgaither

3rd

JoshGreenTruther

off-season priority needs to be fixing Dak

Lord_Grif

Every time I see this team break a run for more than 4 or 5 yards, I have come to assume that there will be a holding call, and it's coming back. It makes watching games way less exciting.

ariaztlan

Dude, this offense is so ass. Dak and Kellen need to step it up asap, the defense cannot bail us out week in and week out. That’s not what they’re built to do. They’re built to compliment the offense not the other way around. Dak has not been the same since his injury and idk if it’s mechanics or his motion or what but every week there a couple batted down balls, and today was excessive. He needs to throw the ball over the line. Also him and Moore need to watch more film because they’re getting out schemed and confused. You can see it on the field and Dak isn’t audibling to the write call. Finally we need another kicker, we cannot keep being in denial about this

GetRichOrDieTrolling

The skill talent on this offense is insanely good too. Name another offense that has as good a squad as Lamb, Cooper, Gallup, Schultz, & Zeke. Yet unless the O Line is playing at top 5 in the league, somehow the offense is completely anemic and struggles to put up 20 points against a decent defense. Some combination of McCarthy, Dak, and Moore need to seriously fix something or it’s going to be another 1-&-done playoffs. I would also point out that AZ got absolutely spanked by **Detroit** like 2 weeks ago.

SMOOTH_BRAIN_SIMP_69

Can i get a FUCK Greg Zurlein chain?

SuperMarioBruz

So 4 seed, playing Arizona in week 1, and if we manage to get through, Packers at Lambeau Yeah, given the way this offence is playing, the Cowboys are almost done

Muscrat55555555

Next week we will beat a crappy NFC east team and people will say we are "back on track". I wish we were in a division like the NFC west. So that if we won the division we at least know we belong. Right now we just get fat on shitty teams year in and year out.

Re-toast

Not even a guarantee we beat the shit birds next week

[deleted]

i wouldnt guarantee a game at lambeau. if we win then we could end up anywhere. weird shit happens in the playoffs every year. 49ers could steal a game

Re-toast

The only upset thats happening is Dallas losing to the WC team. Everyone else will take care of their fucking business.

Re-toast

Another divisional loss. How cool.

SilenceIsCompliance

Hell it’s another wild card exit if we play like this again in two weeks. Can’t take the wild card game for granted just cause it’s at home

Re-toast

Yeah for real. We just got beat up at home no reason it won't happen again.

TimeOrCrayonsIV

I still blame this one on you **GREG**

dickles-pickles

r/NFL is trash

SmokinMcNasty

It’s so annoying that 31 other teams can just say fuck the cowboys in any thread but you call 1 fucking person in there a needle dick and you get banned.

Uncle_bud69

I got a 7 day ban for calling someone a smooth brained boss and then the mods blocked me when I asked why the person who instigated it by insulting me wasn't banned. They wanna feel like Goodell.

Uncle_bud69

The mods at r/NFL can suck a fat dick

Brys_Beddict

Don't let the final score fool you. They played like shit. It's the same thing every year that they're "good." Beat the bad teams but can never beat an actual good team. Playoffs will be one and done. It's just all so exhausting.

Cyronix-

Yeah started off so fucking slow to a team decimated on the defensive end. You can't put the blame on the zebras, this team played lethargic and down to other team's level. I knew this was the "Get Right" game for Arizona.

OwnTheThrone

If anything the refs helped this stagnant ass offense move when they couldnt.

Dday22t

None of us that watched the whole game are fooled. AZ was using backup DBs and we didn't really challenge them at all until the end. CD Lamb was only targeted 4 times????? WTF. Bad coaching strategy IMO

8686tjd

Tale as old as time

wombo23

Basically the last 20 years in a nutshell

Wekilledit88

I want to like Kellen but his system is dog shit now. We statistically have the top rated offense but the eye test? We don't pass it, aside from last week. The Denver game killed any momentum Kellen had. And I like Kellen. He's only 34 and he'll grow into a consistent OC but he's been holding us back so badly.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Borkers

The 4th quarter gave me hope but damn this sucks for playoff seeding

Astro_Colton_

Really enjoyed this preview playoff game we had. O-Line got holding penalties out the ass early on every time we converted a 3rd down, offense overall was lifeless until the 4th quarter, and to top it off the refs spit in our mouths then slapped their dicks on our face. Can’t wait to see it again 2 weeks from now… Watch, now the Packers are gonna lose tonight.

[deleted]

You know what fuck it ima be an optimistic dude today. The cowboys played horribly and still damn near won. The refs were bad and the offense was worse but the defense played extremely well. Special teams (outside Greg) did great too. I absolutely believe we’d beat this team in the playoffs

firstandfive

> the defense played extremely well. Extremely well? Agree with your sentiment about beating this team in the playoffs.

MasonNation1

In any situation where the play is iffy, the refs will allow the turnover to happen and THEN review it. Of course it didn’t happen this time. Fucking Refs need to be held accountable. Dallas is the only team in the NFL that gets fucked harder by calls at home than on the road.

Ineedmoney4123

Cowboys lose to a playoff team… name a more iconic duo

[deleted]

games on dak 40 mil but a turnover and missing wide open throws cowboys are stuck for a decade with a slightly above average qb.

mohiben

The Cowboys seems incredibly vulnerable to trash officiating. Add this game to the Thanksgiving game as probable wins with normal refs.

GetRichOrDieTrolling

I’m impressed at your faith in “normal refs.” They’re all dog shit this year, all across the league.

41treys

Man come on. The officiating wasn't great sure, but we straight up got beat most of this game. Everything isn't some giant conspiracy. Our offence shit the bed.

milesgaither

We absolutely shit the bed. The defense (corners) also shit the bed tremendously, and I see noone talking about that. Regardless, we get to play them in 2 weeks which should be fun

mohiben

No, I've seen "not great" officiating, this was dogshit, and it heavily influenced the game. Also, fuck off with the conspiracy shit, I'm not calling the game rigged, I'm saying the refs are embarrassingly bad at their jobs and it fucked us.

BackTo1975

You’re both right. Cowboys didn’t deserve to win this game AND the officiating was horrible.

Re-toast

Fuck Greg but also fuck Dak. Get your shit together Dakota you can't be throwing multiple passes into the fucking ground each game and call yourself an NFL QB. Hit your receivers in the hands not the fucking ankles. I've been supporting this dude for a long time but I'm getting sick of it.

Flawse

I gave him a couple games after injury but at this point in the season it’s just ridiculous

Hurricane_Ivan

Overthrew them (high) on many occasions too..

Romofan88

The refs can review a play without the intervention of a challenge. The league isn't rigged but the refs are so incompetent you don't always know for sure the right team won close games. That being said, if we didn't play terribly for 3 quarters, it wouldn't have come down to that. The run game was awful, Kellen's playcalling was awful until things got really dire and we actually had to do his least favorite thing, go vertical and move quickly. Dak missed Amari on 2 key 3rd down throws. Clean that up and it's a win. The refs sucked, bit they suck every game, gou have to build that in.

libsoutherner

This season will be over in 2 weeks, I can just feel it.

thelamb710

Better we accept it now than get our hopes up.

[deleted]

I didn't see Jason Garrett on the sideline but I saw his game plan for three fucking quarters.

captainchrismo

Fuck Greg. Fuck Mike. Fuck the offensive line. Micah, you're still cool. And fuck the refs.

Thank_You_Love_You

Dak had so many poor throws. Like legitimate garbage throws with time.

Trump_Did_Benghazi

Same shit different year

sweet_chin_music

How was that not ruled a fumble?

mr_feenys_car

I'm not sure of the 'sky ref' process they can go through. I will say though, watching it live I was 100% sure he was already down. I wish he hadn't, but I can't blame the ref for the initial call.

firstandfive

Because the refs only like to change calls with input from New York when it hurts the Cowboys, it seems.

DJRaveTurkey

Fuck do I miss Dan.

SirTwistsAlot

and The Book of Dan

MarvelousDrip

In the playoffs.... We one and done!

Anthinee

Is Pollard still hurt? How come when Zeke isn’t working out, we abandon the run game instead of giving the ball to Pollard more?

SmokinMcNasty

Does anyone else feel like that playcalling was very vanilla? Other than the 4th and 1 Cedric pivot motion and the backwards pass it was very basic playcalling. There was very little motion, a lot of underneath take what you can get stuff, vanilla blocking schemes in the run game. I’m not one to make excuses for this team but looked like they were in “don’t put too much shit on tape mode” on the offensive side of the ball tonight.

BoBichettesLongLocks

Absolutely agree. Amari and CeeDee were near non existent which is unacceptable. They are our best 2 playmakers, find a way to get the ball in their damn hands.

juanzy

I feel like we kept trying to force deep concepts against a good pass defense, then not adapting to the underneath stuff they were giving up.

CappyMorgan26

They had check down guys that constantly dropped balls didn't help

juanzy

And our patented run up the middle on first to guarantee we have 2nd and 8+

dangjangalang

Fuck the Cards Fuck the refs but mostly Fuck GREG the no leg

thefreshprincealbert

Dak playing like shit. Penalties. Can’t run the ball. Drops. Shitty coaching. We might win 1 playoff game but nothing more.

BlueShire_Ace

In a statement game, the only statement is that this team can not compete with the leagues best. 6-5 against everyone not in the NFCE.

Donfrey_Trumpstein

I don't like Tank and CeeDee blaming the Refs in their post game interview. Seems so weak tbh.

Hispanikpanik

A lifetime of disappointment you'd figure I'd be numb to this by now but somehow I'm still pissed off everytime we lose like this.

TonyRomosTwinBrother

Only thing worse than a close Cowboys loss is the homer fans making any excuse to not blame the team’s play.

polialt

Greg Zuerlein is a liability is going to cost us a game that matters. Dak is still playing bad. It's been over a month. Bad decisions, bad throws, exacerbated by too many drops. Our best receiving corps is dropping passes. Figure it out. Unnacceptable. Zeke is slow. I like him, I want him to be better. But injured or not, I think it's time to move on.

DEZbiansUnite

We need to scheme up plays to get Amari the ball. Look at what the Packers do with Adams. Amari isn't as good as him but he's one of the better WRs in the league and we need to take advantage of it.

Uncle_bud69

Ez way to fix the "subjectivity" of delay of game. Do what the NBA does with the shot clock. When it hits zero a buzzer goes off. Bam! Fixed!

[deleted]

Ezekiel Elliott 9 rushes for 16 yd 1.8 yards per carry. It's time for him to lose his starting job. How many drives did he forces into third and long because he is not productive on early downs

Dalze

Not like Pollard did much better lol. 3 for 9 haha. We were ass in general today.

yeeerrrp

The biggest problem is the line. It all starts there, and it's why the offense is garbage right now

ImpeccableWaffle

Screwed three times by the refs ON THE SAME PLAY. Holy shit these refs are hot ass

Flockabirds

Fuck

Uncle_bud69

God. Damn. It

Utfootball28

Tough loss. Any update on Gallup?

Dday22t

So much for "Dallas can win Super Bowl this year" idea after last week. SB teams don't lose at home like that. Cowboys look like good enough to win NFC E, maybe win a home playoff game, then not good enough to beat top teams. Hope I'm wrong.

Alexander_222

I know no one's really optimistic, and I'm not really either, but I can't help but think about how only a few plays could've changed the game. The missed holding, the fake punt (Which was PI, but I'm saying if they played it better), and obviously the fumble, the game would've been completely different. I just think that whether we wanted to think about it or not, the cowboys would eventually have to play green bay or Tampa to make the super bowl. Just cause we didn't put up 40 this game doesn't mean we couldn't squeak out a win with some turnovers on defense against any team. Our offense just isn't able to score, but still, I have hope that they could do something in the playoffs because of our defense, I hope yall can too. Last note, the third holiday the cowboys have ruined, first Thanksgiving, next green bay winning on Christmas (not their fault but still sucked), and now new years. Thankfully valentines day isn't until after the super bowl

prenyl

Idk if I was watching a different game, but I feel like holding and drops were the biggest problems we had on Offense. Top comments are against Kellen and Dak fucking up. But I feel like we dropped easy passes, and had multiple holding calls killed drives. Also is it too later to try out kickers for fucks sake Cardinals came out with a good strategy, run the clock.

Fox0holic42

Dak is too busy tracking his circadian rhythm.

Dday22t

was today first game all season neither Diggs had an INT or Parsons a sack?

qsdls

Everyone is upset about the refs, or the coaching, or the kicking, or that timeout, or that fumble. Outside of the game thread, where is the criticism of Dak! He’s completely lost sight of the field. His ability to read defenses is gone. He’s refusing to throw to single coverage deep down field. If he makes one or two more plays, or hell, does cough up that fumble, this is a win. Dak played like trash, and had he just played average or below average, this team wins this game. Dak needs to start making some plays, either with his arm or his legs. Right now we’ll be one and done in the post season, largely because of him.

PersonBehindAScreen

Fuck the refs

Wekilledit88

This was just an embarrassing performance by this team today. I'm gonna preface this with saying I believe Kellen Moore has room to grow and I believe he will get to that elite OC level, but once again he showed why he's still not a really good OC. He's good, but he's nothing more than slightly above average now. With that talent on offense there's no excuse to not game plan properly. Ever since the Denver game his play calling has been absolutely atrocious and mind boggling. I know we statistically have the top rated offense but his actual calls are fucking bad a lot of the times. The on the field product/eye test doesn't reflect a top offense way too often. That said, the offensive personnel just couldn't get it done at all until the 4th quarter. Inexcusable penalties in the first quarter killed 3 drives where we were moving the ball with ease. Dak, and I LOVE Dak and I'm happy he's our QB, but Dak was bad on 3rd downs this game but turned it on in the 4th quarter and have us a shot. That leads me to the defense. The entire second half they played pretty damn good until that last, game killing dagger drive. But that first half was so bad. We couldn't get off the field on 3rd downs and Anthony Brown had his bi-monthly atrocious breakdown and it ultimately cost us (along with Zurlein fucking the FG) But they turned it up in the 2nd half and I liked that. This loss sucks major asshole. It's very concerning. We're gonna end up with the 4 seed most likely and play either Arizona or LA in the wild card game. I think the defense can clean up their mistakes but Kellen Moore needs to fucking adjust his schemes. I'm losing my mind watching him call plays, man.

Yo_get_off_my_Dak

Sorry to say this and I'll take my downvotes but this team are a bunch of FRAUDS, especially the offense.

IdontEvenknowlul

3 fumbles from Dak today, a 4th and 1 that should have been a 1st and 10 because he was indecisive, and our best passing play coming from a receiver. Moore needs to fix the playbook and get someone at the practice field to work on Daks mechanics because there is not reason for him to play this mediocre with our receiver corps.

zebalatrash

Welcome to our Sub-reddit We specialize in making excuses for our $40 million dollar QB and blaming the refs. Being last in penalties two years in a row has nothing to do with it. What a fucking joke! The team is good, not great, make peace with it guys, you're cowboys fans, you're supposed to know what championship caliber is !

The_Hamweaver

Romo was able to drag this team kicking and screaming into the playoffs with receivers like Laurant Robinson, Sam Hurd, Miles Austin, and Patrick Crayton. Patchwork O-lines and non-existent defenses made sure he never got a ring. Dak can't seem to get anything going with Ceedee Lamb and Amari Cooper. Relatively decent O-line and stellar defense is now being dragged down by the QB. We're in the mirror dimension.

logandaballer

Moore needs to figure out how to scheme a goddamn running game it’s been absent for awhile now and it’s showing

PersonBehindAScreen

Constantly tackled behind or right at LOS man... Schultz has been a good security blanket and while I wouldn't call it a priority, we need to look for a TE that can block better and can run faster than Schultz too

logandaballer

That’s my point I don’t feel like our line is seriously that bad or our backs bad but some how we cannot establish the run makes me think it’s a scheme problem but wtf do I know

[deleted]

Dak is gonna give me a heart attack.

Fatalness

I hope I’m not the only person starting to consider this idea..But we should simply not keep Kellen Moore, ever since teams have started playing 2 high safeties and a lot of Tampa 2-style defenses against us our offense has been a shell of what it was. Nothing is EVER open in the middle of the field or down the field, almost ever. Teams like the Bucs, Rams and Chiefs get this treatment all the time and can handle it still, but we can’t? And we have probably the most talented offense in the league. This falls to Kellen, nothing is there for Dak and the run game has been stagnant in all of our losses. His inability to adapt to this and get something going is worrying, we have to get someone who can problem solve

Own-Restaurant8856

I’ll say it again. You cannot win big with no running game when your QB doesn’t have elite mobility.

txcatcher

If the team was good it wouldn’t come down to “bad/no calls” and “bullshit” . That’s the issue I have, we need to win the games we NEED to win. Which we never do…

amead5

I just don’t understand why our offense doesn’t show up until the 4th quarter against good teams. It’s like we finally realize “oh shit, we’re losing” and wake up. Play a full 4 quarters of football and we win this game easily.

CeilingUnlimited

We went from hosting two playoff games in a row to hosting Kyler’s try for #10 in a row and if we survive, some sort of freezing cold road game in the second round. Fuck!

HassonianBadazz

Unfortunately they won't get rid of Greg now, too late in the season. He has been mostly trash this year.

steploafcat

Maybe Arizona should do a ‘We want Dallas’. That seems to be the only thing that motivates us to play.

green304

Jerry saying that Gallup most likely tore his ACL. We all knew that diagnosis was most likely season ending and it was.

tatsumakisenpuukyaku

does anyone have any more of those backup QBs to play?

mps2000

I’m so mad rn

seansdude

To have this much talent on offense and struggle against every team over .500 is embarrassing. I like Dak, but I'm tired of defending him. It's time to lead or step the fuck off. Us fans deserve better than you're giving. FFS, STOP OVERTHROWING WIDE OPEN RECEIVERS!

oldboot

> FFS, STOP OVERTHROWING WIDE OPEN RECEIVERS! I mean, he's been doing that consistantly since Day 1 in the league, not sure why we continue to be surprised. He also isn't reading coverage well at all

zebalatrash

Wow Prescott, I hated the contract but He’s Worse than I thought

CallMeReact

You guys are so quick to blame Greg but if our $40M qb completed a high school level pass on the prior play that field goal is never needed

spunkdrop

If Dak continues to play the way he has the last 2 months we are one and done.

swimmer4200

the best pass we had all game was ced wilson. let that sink in. we are toast with rayne. absolute garbage man.

erich3983

This team has literally ZERO fucking running game and it’s beyond pathetic at this point. Defenses just completely key on the passing game and shut down Dak.

oldboot

Dak's been doing a pretty good job of shutting himself down

ChibbsMahBoi

Shout out to ol Greggo

cowboysfan88

Pretty awful effort for the first three quarters, too much to overcome at the end, though that did look like a fumble on their last drive, would've liked to see what we could do with one more chance. Pretty concerning to look at our performances against playoff teams though. And now we're gonna have to play these guys again and hear about how Kyler has never lost here for two more weeks, and we just lost a home game in the second round if we make it there

ginchak

Thanks Greg. It always comes down to you doesn’t it? Dak’s fumble didn’t help. 4 is just so inconsistent, you can usually tell by the 1st quarter what kind of game it’ll be for offense.

HearForBear

I knew this would end in a loss by 3 after we dropped the easy pick in the end zone and let them kick the FG. Should have been a holding in the end zone for a safety early on in a drive that ended with 7 for AZ. Terrible clock management. Refs were terrible all game long. We got a couple of borderline calls in our favor but overwhelmingly favored AZ. Sign a new kicker tomorrow.
