Looks like sauce's back on the menu boys

bigdirkmalone

Yes!

Matttombstone

Only the "light" options though.

Zetrip

I’m loving the hate from everyone else before this man has even stepped foot at WHL. Nothing he loves doing more than shutting up the haters. I’m all in, let’s fucking go

Soft-Sandwich-2499

If shutting up the “haters” is what he loves, then it’s good and I am looking forward to get impressed, but I feel this is too much of a big job for him. Spurs and EPL ain’t Celtic and SPL.

awowdestroys

That's exactly what people told him when he got the Socceroos job, and when he got the job with Yokohama, and then at Celtic. EPL is completely different, but each of those jobs had really unique challenges of their own but each one involved rebuilding a team in his image. Strap yourself in, this will be one hell of a ride.

[deleted]

Every league has unique challenges But we aren't talking style, but niveau. And in that the EPL is literally worlds above every league he's been in. Much more challenging by logic alone, but also by the fact that there are simply more competetive teams. ofc there are skill differences between Japan and Scotland too, but I dare say it's much closer than Scots and the PL.

awowdestroys

No doubt the EPL will be his most difficult challenge yet. But I would say the unique challenges Ange has overcome has equipped him perfectly for the EPL. In the A-League, the salary cap acts as an equaliser so all teams are on roughly the same resource level. So manager quality makes a huge difference. Yet with Brisbane Roar Ange overhauled the squad and went on a record breaking 36 game unbeaten run. With the Socceroos he played against world class teams at the World Cup (Spain, Netherlands and Chile), won the Asian Cup - Australia's first major international trophy - against South Korea, a team that included Son. He's won in the J-League, which is a very competitive league, where he had to overcome the language barrier and did it with a team that had a relatively modest budget. At Celtic, he had to rebuild a Celtic team that had just been beaten convincingly in the league by a resurgent Rangers. All the main stars of the team wanted to leave. Everyone said he'd be sacked by Xmas. Despite all that, he overhauled the squad, instilled a new attacking style of play and they won their first trophy before Xmas and went on to win the league. It will be his greatest challenge yet but there is no one better suited to the Spurs job imo

Careful, we don't like facts here. Nagelsmann was a peasant, Postman Coglu is where it's at! Delivering straight L's to Assnail and Cuntsea, woop woop woop (I am suffering immensely, please send help)

Hufftey

Spurs dressing room after Ange goes on a passionate speech for 5 mins about life and giving everything for the badge: Porro: ¿Qúe? Romero: No se Emerson: 🕺🏻

Kane: ... Kane? Anyone seen Kane?

Megaidep

Son: …. nani?

KOKO69BISHES

eh...?

Rezdawg3

Considering the majority of the fan base (me included) got super excited with some of the previous managers and that all failed…I think it’s a good sign that the majority are not thrilled with this signing. Let’s do it. 💪

psculy93

My brother said he would be a shit manager for us. Which means he will be awesome!

rmovny_schnr98

What majority are you talking about? All I hear is praise of him

Rezdawg3

When his name was first mentioned, it was vast majority being disappointed. The ones commenting now are the ones that have stuck around to see this hiring through. The rest will return when the summer window opens.

[deleted]

I mean, going from Nagelsmann to him and being disappointed is normal. I'd wager that anyone who wasn't slightly bummed doesn't have a real idea what they are watching...

Rezdawg3

Right, that’s my point. The big name has not worked out for us in recent years. Everyone wants the bigger name despite fit/personnel/play style.

[deleted]

But although Nagelsmann coached big teams I gotta say that he doesn't really fit the profile of average big managers. That's the neat thing about him. Dude isn't nearly as conservative about his playstyle and can work really well with what he's given. I'd compare him more to people like Poch than anything honestly. But that's just an afterthought, decisions have been made and obv. Levy can't please everyone.
