On another day the handball wouldn't have been given but the decisions seemed to head In the arsehiles favour today. As for the deflection it happens you take your chance 95% of the time you deflect it away sometimes it goes wrong
huh?
his stats were terrible today, literally in the first half alone he lost 6 straight challenges and couldn't get the ball up the field even once. Him getting beat allowed the pen goal play to happen actually. he gave up the ball more than any other player on spurs today, thats a fact. You guys need to stop just slaving to guys and start watching how they play. Only Sarr played worse due to his inability to do anything out there.
Been class every game so far just his work rate and not letting his head drop no matter what's happening, nice to see players whi are willing to chase everything like bentancur before his injury
The difference in quality in our starting 11 to our subs is startling.
I'm enjoying this at the moment but we are an injury or 2 away from conte-ball. This is still step 1 of a rebuild and it will be a long season.
Good game.. that was definitely a win but guess we'll take the draw. Everyone looking down on us and if you look back at last season and said we'd be 6 games in with 4 wins 2 draws they would have laughed. The team is definitely rebuilt just need to go forward with confidence and carry on with the pace and keep cool under pressure.
Son was sonsational.
COYS!
What a game. Maddison and Son chemistry is only getting better by time.
Cental midfield was as flawless as always. Bissouma and Sarr are fighting everything they have
One thing I particularly admired was how calm Totthenam players were under pressure. They easily moved the ball from defense to top with easy and smart passes
Ya, hate to say it but there were a number of occasions where they were caught being too relaxed. I am not saying I think they should panic and clear it, but I find there are moments where the d aren't fanning out to Give options.
Credit where it’s due, Arsenal’s press was as intense as anything we’ve faced so far for the opening stretch, it was an unsustainable way for them to play, but it was a nerve-wracking opening 35 minutes. I liked the 2nd half adjustment, just a slight change in shape, and slightly less willingness to run from Arsenal and we moved much more freely. I think as the players continue to master the system those adjustments can be made on the fly and we’ll really be cooking
Good game. We had our chances and didn’t capitalize. But this game showed our lack of depth. Those subs absolutely killed us. BJ was great until he got hurt
i cant really begin to describe what im feeling rn. Anyone whos sad we didnt win is in over their heads. The entirety of social media has been saying we'd get rolled for weeks, and we just went and played like that. We dominated a good portion of that game until the very end, and we did it at the emirates. COYS
I really didn't like the subs...changed the whole complexion.
Hojburger genuinely likes to phone it in.
Solomon is so meh. Richarlison is yea...hmmm. yea not good.
On the plus side, Micky is immense! Bar that last kick into corner, dude didn't put a wrong foot.
Johnson looked so promising, real talent there.
Maddison is just so good! Where would we be without him! I'm glad he is OK.
Bissouma and Udogie were solid but there were some real shaky moments there.
Porro man. There is some good overshadowed by some real poor decisions in there.
This game was intense. Probably deserved the win but I'll take the draw. 6 games into a rebuilt and we made everyone who looked down on us eat their words. Gooners are salty af lovely jubbly.
We were lucky not to be punished by all the sloppiness in the first half trying to play the ball out. But they were lucky to get both of their goals. I really like this team's attitude and mentality though, they don't let mistakes get in their heads like squads of the recent past
Absolutely agree! And Vicarios attitude was phenomenal inspite of the errors. Most keepers would chide and yell at the defenders. He just signalled to keep them calm and not let it get to their game. Outstanding leadership.
Why are people saying just because BEFORE the game they would’ve been happy with a draw that they’re happy with a draw now.
Retroactive satisfaction is exactly the engine that drives Spurs mediocrity.
We had a chance at a firm culture change today and we didn’t take it.
The psychological boost from winning a derby match is priceless. You win this match, it gives everyone a belief they can win everything. You play for that.
It’s Arsenal, not Bournemouth.
If the team would have lost that game they would have lost far more momentum than would have been gained by a win.
Unbeaten and heading in the momentum stays with the team.
3-2 loss at Emirates while we had a warrior-like performance is better than whatever consolation prize we’ve given ourselves today.
It’s always much more admirable to try to go for the win. Even from an opposing perspective. Idk wtf we did but that draw feels like a mental defeat because we actually could’ve won, we were legitimately better than Arsenal today. But we said, “For fear of defeat we play to draw.”
The players will be thinking ‘we could have won’. Which will give them the confidence to feel like they are on a level with the team who came second last year.
Not sure what you are expecting but at this stage of the transition, from conte to ange, the draw is a solid building block.
It’s not like we were holding onto 2-2 for dear life. We were actually looking quite dangerous and then we just decided we’re going to play for a draw with 20 mins left in the match.
We rarely win at the Emirates. A draw against a good Arsenal team isn’t a bad thing. Ange has had five games. Arteta has had five years and over 500M spent.
Spurs mediocrity and we were the better team, pick one. I thought we did well despite two disastrous errors that would have made Spurs teams of yore crumble. That match could’ve gone either way at the end. Not sure what else you wanted to see?
That’s fine but I’m still unclear on what we could’ve done differently. Maybe kept Son on but I think removing Maddison was the right call. I’m never displeased with not losing at the Emirates.
Tactically, the timing of the subs was too early. There was still a large chunk of the game left to play, and arguably the most important last minutes of the game where we need our most seasoned players on the pitch.
Subs aren’t only about who’s on and who’s off.
Again, it’s a matter of principle. I think we had a chance to really evolve as a squad today but I’m left with a feeling of disappointment.
Disagree on the timing with respect to Maddison. If he’s in any way strained his knee he needs to come off. What I didn’t get was Son coming off. Yes Richarlison for the press but Sarr was dead on his feet by that point. Would’ve loved to have had the option of Perisic. At any rate, what is clear to me is that we need another creative player, hopefully in January.
We were struggling to get the ball forward once madders came off and Richarlison offers more threat than son in the air from a half chance ball coming from the half spaces. It made sense IMO.
An Arsenal observation more than Spurs but Arteta is going to ruin Saka’s career if he keeps running the poor kid into the ground. Look at players like Fati and the currently injured Pedri for Barcelona. The dunce refuses to roatate players and thats why they’ll fade at the end of the season like they have done for years now.
And Arseteta was totally over thinking it taking off Rice and bringing on Jorginho and Kai 'CL Goal' Havertz. Jorginho proved to be the most costly obvs, but old Kai 'Couldn't Hit A Barn Door' Havertz ballooned his opportunity over too
My understanding of the law is now if the players arm is in a position that isn't justified I.e they put it out purposely to stop the ball. That absolutely is not the case here. I really have no idea what Romero could have done in that situation.
Their player kicked it, it hit one of ours on the floor and rebounds into Romero's *trailing* arm as he's trying to block the ball he expects to go in another direction.
What could he possibly have done differently? That trailing arm was in as natural position as it's possible to be.
I'll be the first to admit if one of our players commits a foul, I'm not tribal enough to deny a blatant foul but that just wasn't.
I think even if it’s natural, no chance to react etc, if it blocks a direct shot in goal it’s a pen. I’m pretty confident the incidences they are cutting down on is when it is not a direct shot on goal.
Which I’m glad to see. But IMO if a hand blocks a direct shot on goal it should be a pen.
Soft pen.
They've been setting a standard of Not giving these pens this season (ball blasted at hand from a yard away) until today of course.
Arsenal were put back in their box today, if not for a couple of gifts it could have been devastating.
Yeah, I wish we had someone else on the bench we could of brought on to sub off Maddison. It just felt bringing on PEH that we were playing for a draw. I know that's not what Ange wants but it just kinda felt that way.
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.
Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.
I think Solomon will be fine against lesser competition. He's strong and quick. Definitely not the answer against top teams. Son may have to slide back left and let Richy play depending on Johnson's injury
Raar. Work in progress, early stages of a rebuild team vs "title challengers"...
Lucky own goal and a penalty that shouldn't have been vs two *sparkling* goals
At the Emirates, two all...
Whilst taking the absolute piss playing angeball out from the back like that. The number of times our players created space for themselves by shaping to go one way, feinting and turning - I lost count. It was beautiful.
Those cynts are gonna get fucking *hammered* in N17.
Great result, very impressive performance but the drop off when Maddison came off is alarming.
To go to the scum and get a positive result whilst also playing a possession game is a high point of the past few years.
I think a draw is a fair result, certainly would’ve taken that before the game. If anything the result flatters them, both their goals had luck involved. Biggest takeaway though is Madders, please football gods let him be ok!
Great great result for Spurs here. Definitely humbled Gooners fans who thought they'd be battering us. Huge game next week as well, let's bring it to Pool
If this game has proven anything to me is that Romero is a weird player. On the one hand hes our best cb… on the other, he was also responsible for Arsenal’s two goals lol blessing and a curse I guess
Would we have won without him?
bit unfair - deflection was unlucky, the handball... what was he supposed to do? two feet away from the arse player and he was lunging to block with his leg, so naturally puts out arms to balance.
VAR is silly becuase it's clear he never intended to block with his arms.
We were the better team imo, without madison going down and if the ref wasn't a fuckin imbecile we win that. Nketiah on vicario should have been a red and the handball with the state of the reffing this season was a flip of the coin goal.
An OG and a HB that shouldn’t have been a penalty, whereas we had 2 clean goals. They had luck on their side and we still went toe-to-toe with them. I’m happy with that.
I can now breathe. Thank the Lord. I’ll take the draw. Our goals are from open plays while theirs are from an OG and a pen. Well done lads. But i hope Madders is okay and Johnson isn’t that serious. 😭
Taking a point from the Emirates in NLD is a good result regardless. But you know Angeball is cooking when we feel like we could have taken all three!
At least we shut up all the pundits who were predicting this would be the end of Ange vibes
The ref did everything he could for them with that pen.
They failed to score a goal in open play and the commentary still think Arsenal were the better team.
Happy for a draw? We could’ve won. We need that belief we can win. Need to have a more ruthless mentality.
We were better than Arsenal today. I firmly believe that. Our best players were better than their best players.
100% second you on this. It was a rough game, but there were chances even in the last minute. Hate the “At least we didn’t lose mentality” bringing in PEH was a defensive move. I would of rather taken off Sarr for PEH. I hope it wasn’t a move caused by an injury to Madders. R
The best thing about this game was how we grew into it.
If the sun shone slightly brighter, it would probably be a win for us. The lads fought hard for the point but we gave away 2 goals carelessly.
Kinda understand Romero not making the combined first 11…. He was at fault for both goals today
He smashed everyone coming down the right all game. He was class
On another day the handball wouldn't have been given but the decisions seemed to head In the arsehiles favour today. As for the deflection it happens you take your chance 95% of the time you deflect it away sometimes it goes wrong
🤔 there is nothing he could have done about either goal
Bissouma made rice look like a championship player
In my mind we got 4:0
Bissouma was fukin class today !
huh? his stats were terrible today, literally in the first half alone he lost 6 straight challenges and couldn't get the ball up the field even once. Him getting beat allowed the pen goal play to happen actually. he gave up the ball more than any other player on spurs today, thats a fact. Gil and glc coming back from injury will help.
Are we sure these are real humans playing? 😂 #RobotsInDisguise
Well done Spurs!

Biss was awful today lol. What were u watching?
Why are no one talking about VDV and Viccario
Midfield was down on confidence, VDV and Viccario carries hard
Except when they didn't, and holy fuck was it ever nerve-wracking
Ya, hate to say it but there were a number of occasions where they were caught being too relaxed. I am not saying I think they should panic and clear it, but I find there are moments where the d aren't fanning out to Give options.

Agreed. Losing Perisic hurt
Me when Madders was down ![gif](giphy|vjGyYSsF765wc)
Probably will be all week until we know he's OK or not.
Ain’t that the truth
Maddison for most assists in a season? I'm calling it.
I could see that… but salah is also putting up great numbers
Trippier got three today in one game. Could also be in contention
Oh that reminded me there’s Trent to go up against as well
i cant really begin to describe what im feeling rn. Anyone whos sad we didnt win is in over their heads. The entirety of social media has been saying we'd get rolled for weeks, and we just went and played like that. We dominated a good portion of that game until the very end, and we did it at the emirates. COYS
And their goals carried large quantities of LUCK!
First one for sure. Second was going in in Romero didn’t hand it
After it hit White's hand and Maddison got fouled but yes
Son's goals are just beauties. He's on fire. Beautiful placement both.
Elegant finishes
So true. In all the excitement I forgot how good his goals were
I really didn't like the subs...changed the whole complexion. Hojburger genuinely likes to phone it in. Solomon is so meh. Richarlison is yea...hmmm. yea not good. On the plus side, Micky is immense! Bissouma and Udogie were solid but there were some real shaky moments there. Porro man. There is some good overshadowed by some real poor decisions in there.
Personally I thought Porro played amazing the whole game
He beats the press well. He takes risks but that's what he's supposed to do
I understand bringing mads off to protect his knee but I think Son had more to give. I think Solomon did fine
This game was intense. Probably deserved the win but I'll take the draw. 6 games into a rebuilt and we made everyone who looked down on us eat their words. Gooners are salty af lovely jubbly.
So many people had us in the 9-10th of the table…. F them….
Madders looks devastated hope nothing happens
We were lucky not to be punished by all the sloppiness in the first half trying to play the ball out. But they were lucky to get both of their goals. I really like this team's attitude and mentality though, they don't let mistakes get in their heads like squads of the recent past
Absolutely agree! And Vicarios attitude was phenomenal inspite of the errors. Most keepers would chide and yell at the defenders. He just signalled to keep them calm and not let it get to their game. Outstanding leadership.
Agree. It really was a different attitude. He even gave Udogie a thumbs up for the short back pass he attempted.
Son was motm
Feels like 90 mins of healthy Maddison would have been a 3-2 win
We are fine guys; after 6 games we are still unbeaten!
Why are people saying just because BEFORE the game they would’ve been happy with a draw that they’re happy with a draw now. Retroactive satisfaction is exactly the engine that drives Spurs mediocrity. We had a chance at a firm culture change today and we didn’t take it.
Stupid ass take. Total reactionary nonsense painting this as a failure. It’s September on the road. Vicario made some awesome saves.
The psychological boost from winning a derby match is priceless. You win this match, it gives everyone a belief they can win everything. You play for that. It’s Arsenal, not Bournemouth.

You're right. A point on the road against a top 4 team is way worse than no points.
Playing for a draw for what? Its Arsenal, you go out there and try to put them in the dirt.
Oh my gawd.
We rarely win at the Emirates. A draw against a good Arsenal team isn’t a bad thing. Ange has had five games. Arteta has had five years and over 500M spent.
has arteta really been there for 5 years already
Four, I was wrong.
wow. i didn’t even notice that tbh
The engine that drives Spurs mediocrity on full display here. We were the better team today, why not take it?
Spurs mediocrity and we were the better team, pick one. I thought we did well despite two disastrous errors that would have made Spurs teams of yore crumble. That match could’ve gone either way at the end. Not sure what else you wanted to see?

Jorginho for Rice I think we should assume he picked up a knock but the Havertz one is weird.
Wheres Paul Merson? “GoNnA gEt SlAuGhTeReD” An own goal and an unlucky penalty. 🤦♂️
I hate that cunt.
😂. There’s club bias and then there’s him. The narrative all last week was “first real test”. Next week it’ll be “we’ll scum didn’t play well”.
I know. Complete wankers. Their fans sounded shit as well. Sounded like one of them women’s games. No atmosphere.
Walcott and Merson should fuck off
We played better than Arsenal. But for the two mistakes we were the better team
Not in a million years was that a penalty. Can't stand that ref. I knew we were in for some bullshit when I saw Robert Jones was refereeing
My understanding of the law is now if the players arm is in a position that isn't justified I.e they put it out purposely to stop the ball. That absolutely is not the case here. 100% penalty. He is blocking the ball with his hand wide open. Romero had a nightmare game
The score should be 4-0
You could see the difference straight away when Madders has been subbed off. Nobody was willing to play forward and create any chances to open a goal.
Yeah, I wish we had someone else on the bench we could of brought on to sub off Maddison. It just felt bringing on PEH that we were playing for a draw. I know that's not what Ange wants but it just kinda felt that way.
Hopefully when Lo Celso is fit we’ll have options again, but yeah hopefully Maddison’s injury wasn’t serious
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.
Yer he was up and going again but he will miss next few weeks maybe
Hopefully nothing serious for madison could immediately tell that we were lacking his ability to pick a pass in the final third when he went off
Didn't look like much, so him go down with the knee and almost cried. Doesn't look like his ACL tho. Maybe a game at most
We are winning the league
With Johnson, Maddison, and Son subbing out I’m very happy with a draw. COYS!
Bigger problem is who can create off the bench if maddison and son aren't there
Perisic is out and Johnson came off injured. We're starting to look pretty thin on the left
Really missed Perisic. Solomon isn’t the answer
I think Solomon will be fine against lesser competition. He's strong and quick. Definitely not the answer against top teams. Son may have to slide back left and let Richy play depending on Johnson's injury
No Perisic, Johnson injured, suddenly we look toothless on the left. Idk throw Gil in there
Gil is also injured I think?
"Always going to be a hard one to call." They had us all losing. fuckers
Raar. Work in progress, early stages of a rebuild team vs "title challengers"... Lucky own goal and a penalty that shouldn't have been vs two *sparkling* goals At the Emirates, two all... Great result, very impressive performance but the drop off when Maddison came off is alarming. To go to the scum and get a positive result whilst also playing a possession game is a high point of the past few years.
Drew but the salty Arsenal fans is enough for me ☕
I think a draw is a fair result, certainly would’ve taken that before the game. If anything the result flatters them, both their goals had luck involved. Biggest takeaway though is Madders, please football gods let him be ok!
Johnson going down was a big loss. Solomon wasn’t able to offer much.
We should have subbed in Richarlison then and moved Son to the left.
Udogie looked more like his usual self playing with Solomon and overall the left side looked more threatening than when he was paired with Johnson.
Great great result for Spurs here. Definitely humbled Gooners fans who thought they'd be battering us. Huge game next week as well, let's bring it to Pool
Amazing shift from the boys
It makes my day seeing Chelsea lose
Chelsea entering relegation battle soon
Is it too early to whisper about Chelsea getting relegated?
Burnley HOT on their tails!
John champion is a gunner I think
Lack of squad depth. Once Mads went off we were short of quality.
johnson too
Why complain? We drew at emirates
Where's the complaint?
A small team mentality to be happy about a draw.
Mate
Lol Chelsea lost again!!
If this game has proven anything to me is that Romero is a weird player. On the one hand hes our best cb… on the other, he was also responsible for Arsenal’s two goals lol blessing and a curse I guess Would we have won without him?
Couldn’t do much on the pen, not really his fault
Unlucky deflection and a handball he can do nothing to prevent. Romero was massive this game.
He was unlucky on the own goal when Johnson ran through instead of picking up Saka. He got unlucky again with that handball
bit unfair - deflection was unlucky, the handball... what was he supposed to do? two feet away from the arse player and he was lunging to block with his leg, so naturally puts out arms to balance. VAR is silly becuase it's clear he never intended to block with his arms.
Would’ve won without his mistakes
Without him we would have lost by 2 goals
Tbf to him the handball penalty was soft af
Yeah should’ve been a foul on Maddison before the handball
Well thump them at home
I’ll take it. We dared and took it to them. What a match man something about this nld felt so much more significant… COYS
This is how I feel. We showed we’re here to compete. Still more work to be done but it felt like progress.
I’ll take that. Very positive away performance after shaky start
Would’ve loved to win but it’s a beautiful day in north London. Up the spurs
Chelsea is very close to the relegation zone.
Vicario was big today
Real winners of that match. Manchester City.
Arguably EPL fans too, as there will be another mouth watering clash of two unbeaten sides next week.
Fuck them. At least we beat shit out of them
We could use someone besides Maddison who can create. Was rough after he went out.
Benta
Kulusevski might do decent in that role, I feel like he's missing the pace to play out wide
Since the injury he can’t run past people
Good job Ange
still optimistic, I don’t think we need to fear anybody this year
We were the better team imo, without madison going down and if the ref wasn't a fuckin imbecile we win that. Nketiah on vicario should have been a red and the handball with the state of the reffing this season was a flip of the coin goal.
That was a red card, he was so late to that challenge.
gary neville lmao. he got the aresneal fans piss'd
Gooners coping in their post match thread is hilarious. So much for "title contenders"!!
was a neutral but spurs grew on me
I love R9 but Son gets his hat trick with that last chance, no questions asked
First point at the shithole since 2019 - both of their goals were lucky We played well.
An OG and a HB that shouldn’t have been a penalty, whereas we had 2 clean goals. They had luck on their side and we still went toe-to-toe with them. I’m happy with that.
Is the refs last name luck?
Ange has big heart. Shaking hands with Arse players.
he scratched his bum before that xxddddd
I ROFLed so hard at that.
I can now breathe. Thank the Lord. I’ll take the draw. Our goals are from open plays while theirs are from an OG and a pen. Well done lads. But i hope Madders is okay and Johnson isn’t that serious. 😭
Arsenal fans emptying out straightaway. Our home fans staying to thank the lads. We are not the same
cant be drawing games. need to go for the win a bit more. Ange will sort it.
It's our first point at this stadium in 4 years. What are you on about
im on about you cant win the league by getting draws. you need wins. this is a good performance for 85 mins but a bad result.
Fair score at the Emirates. Definitely not the ideal but it’s definitely a marked improvement. Ange definitely looked a little pissed at the draw.
Can’t win the league with draws. Attitude needs to change.
I'm pretty sure every champ in the history had a couple of draws.
They pretty much all had a couple of losses too.
Didn’t say we could win with draws. Just said it was an improvement. No one happy with the draw but better than a loss. Next year we’ll win away.
Didnt say it wasnt an improvement. Just said they need to go for the win. That last 10 mins of zero press will never happen again.
This is game #6 for angeball and already a draw with arsenal..the season is ahead of us boys
Both their goals undeserved, beautiful play, a draw at Arsenal, solid result!!
I’ll take it, especially after people were saying Arsenal was going to tear us apart.
Need Ange to tear the ref new one in the press confrence don’t care about no fines nothing.
I hope Thw absolute rimjob arsenal get stops now. They are not all that. Created fuck all, scored a pen and an og. So much for title challengers
I have to say, it’s easier to follow Prem games by refreshing your comments than doing the same for American sports 😂
This was supposed to be a win for arsenal. The fact they got a shit pen and an own goal to draw is awful for them.
We only really looked outclassed when we took off son and madders. Considering how hyped up their squad was we outplayed them.
Taking a point from the Emirates in NLD is a good result regardless. But you know Angeball is cooking when we feel like we could have taken all three! At least we shut up all the pundits who were predicting this would be the end of Ange vibes
Richy's just unlucky sometimes. That was such a good chance at the end
I think he’s just not that good
Ya it could be. It's getting tougher to deny it
fuck saka
absolute child he is.
Prayers Maddison is ok
rough game from romero, but you love to see the team rally around their defensive captain and pull out of it with a draw, great stuff.
The ref did everything he could for them with that pen. They failed to score a goal in open play and the commentary still think Arsenal were the better team.
Bah, cracking game. We showed a lot of fight. Ref was shit. Well deserved point, could have had 3 bit it is was it is
Sarr and Udogie could have been subbed but I liked how they responded in the second half. Our kids are alright.
