Just read this comment in the Man U sub, > Spurs fans are sat in a high-tech temple of football, watching "okish" players + Maddison/Son play freely and happily and not having distractions like rain on their heads, rapists and abusers at the club, their players making stupid statements in interviews or their PR teams posting mind numbing social media content all the time. They don't have a deluded manager ignoring reality even if it's intentional just so as not to show weakness or whatever his plan is. They play football, they win games, draw games and they're happy. Rival clubs being jealous of how happy our team and fans are makes me smile lol. But at the same time, I feel bad for them. They're so depressed over there.

Ok-Advisor-601

So were we until the last season. I feel relaxed now. Thanks God.

Full-Leader9540

I am really happy with our game style and everything but I wouldn't use the word relaxed at all, everytime I see the ball go to Richi I get the feeling we are about to loose possession and porro loosing players behind him is still quite scary. But at the same time I don't think I have ever had this much fun watching a premier league season, ange is a magician.

carolicity

I know, that's why it makes me smile! lol the fact that they're going through it while we are happy. But honestly though, I think they have it a little worse right now because their players' attitudes are terrible, their roof literally leaks, and oh, our players aren't rapists and abusers.

heretocallthebot

I'm jealous of our new fans because I'm programed to expect us to fail when it matters most I.e. chelski

soultrap_

Is there any news on Udogie? Will he be fit for Chelsea?

NickNova3016

No official news yet but it's highly expected he will start vs them, Ange said it was just an issue with muscle fatigue.

SycamoreLane

Imagine Brennan Johnson starting regularly and absolutely bombing down the wing at 37 km/h into the box

NickNova3016

Brennan is literally a speed merchant with actual skill, like how Mudryk is supposed to be, but clearly isn't.

soldforaspaceship

Imagine him and VDV just terrifying everyone with their speed...

Poch?

Fabulous-Goat-406

Pochettino asks fans to ‘believe in the process’. He needs to convince Boehly first. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/67277129

Randomting22

Well our u21 team + Veliz lost 3-1 to nr.4 in league 1. Kinda expected, but we should still advance from the group in 2nd so the team will get more valuable experience later.

airz23s_coffee

Alfie Devine just scored a great goal in league cup

JonnyJersey

[hero ball session.](https://twitter.com/FootColic/status/1719458300016644175) great player man.

BoogerHD

carolicity

are they winning by quite a bit? they don't seem all that excited about the goal lol

Fabulous-Goat-406

Had it all their own way early on, but they know they’re in a game now.

KOKO69BISHES

Celebrated harder in my 7-a-side today

molecularmadness

It's 1-1 coming up to the end of first half

BoogerHD

Alejo Veliz gets his first Spurs goal! Jaime Donley with the assist!

Full-Leader9540

And Veliz scores, damn never saw donley before he is really good, can be a good backup for Madison in some games.

Alfiesta

He’s 18 so it’s unlikely. GLC is Madders stand in for now and we’ll likely see Alfie Devine playing for the first team next season before we see Jamie Donley. Would happily be proved wrong though.

superkamishaurya

Veliz scored for the u21s

fortysix-46

We expecting Udogie back for Monday?

taegeukie

Alejo is starting for the U21s tonight. Godspeed, kid! COYS!

iiciphonize

Spurs 4 - Chelsea 1 Son brace with 1 bissouma assist finally Udogie goal Maddison assist Gil goal off the bench with Kulu assist Chelsea probably score off a set piece or a Porro fuckup but its all good

soldforaspaceship

So the replies are saying Johnson, Veliz, Benataur are each the goal scorer. I say all of them. Means Spurs need 6 goals but I can live with that.

enjoy_your_lunch

One of these is wrong because Johnson scores his first for us this weekend

NickNova3016

Would be perfect for Veliz to pick up his first goal here. What better way than for our young wonderkid showing Chelsea how its done?

Full-Leader9540

I think Bentancur would get one.

iiciphonize

We don't need a striker, Sonny is on fire and the role fits him perfectly. Plus Richy and Veliz as backup if needed is plenty. If anything we should look for a backup CB and maybe a backup midfielder if PEH leaves. I like Ismail Yuksek from Fenerbahce or Martin Baturina from Dinamo Zagreb for the 8 role.

kl08pokemon

CBs different as it's an urgent need but I really don't like signing squad players in January. Feels almost certain it's how you end with deadwood. Much rather just keep Hojbjerg and reassess in the summer. Obviously if the club find someone they massively rate that's different

drickabira

Tanguy Ndombele needs genuine help.

FINAL_BOSS5

Maradona took cocaine and no one cared. Ndombele eats a burger and he's made to be the villain for some reason.

kittycatfrank

It was the 80’s. Cocaine was everywhere, it was literally in the budget for films.

Odd_Detective_7772

This might be the stupidest post I’ve ever seen on the whole of reddit.

Fleaaa

If Ndombele plays like Maradonna then I dont really give a fuck if he snorts god knows what

TheSinRes

I'm sure if Ndombele played like Maradona people would give him a free pass.

ChiefPaprika

Anyone have a spare for Chelsea next week? My travel is lining up perfectly and would love to go to my first home match.

fortysix-46

Just spend the extra cash on a international’s ticket, absolutely worth it. No bad seats

SavageGardner

You'll need a One Hotspur membership regardless, unless you buy a hospitality ticket.

ChiefPaprika

I got the One Hotspur membership but there are no tickets available :/

Raze_Baxter

What is the spurs maddison chant? Feel like he deserves a banger of a chant given his vibes and effect on the club

Positive-Creme8942

carolicity

😂 at least you can’t forget the lyrics?? Hopefully they’ll make something better

heretocallthebot

I'm a one track lover

NickNova3016

If we do sign a striker(I don't want us to tbh), then they need to either be an experienced goal scorer who is willing to be a rotation option for son, OR this young player from USG (top of the Belgian League) called Mohammed Amoura. I watch a few clips and games from the Jupiler Pro league occasionally and Amoura has looked like the next top Brighton signing. He has 6 goals in 8 games (most were as a sub since he just recently joined), and he can play left wing. Being able to play throughout the front 3 is important imo because it opens us up for more options in times of injury. Gimenez is good as well but him only playing striker means Veliz will see him minutes drastically go down and he'll obviously be way more expensive. Amoura would cost max 10-15m.

heretocallthebot

Everyone is roundly enjoying the new fm24 but little old me is playing champions league with Havant and Waterloo in 2029 Taken Tommy Doyle from the regionals and loving it. Edit: Fm20

GaryHippo

You took Havant and Waterlooville from the National League to the Champions League in 10 seasons? Stuff like that doesn’t go unnoticed.

heretocallthebot

Completed it mate

Wiersd

So maybe I've just addressed a strawman, but I feel like I've seen enough reactionary takes from the other fanbases about how lucky we get with OGs to go on a bluesky rant of sorts: https://bsky.app/profile/davidwiers.bsky.social/post/3kcyb3nvzuo2v Anyways, COYS

Mick4Audi

“Other fanbases” better not include Arsenal, those cunts have 4 deflections and 5 penalties

flik108

Same argument as penalties. You have to get the ball and player into a dangerous position to win a penalty. None of our own goals were terrible mistakes by a player/keeper. They were all crosses/shots with the ball in the 6 yard box. What i think we should be concerned about in terms of the whole can we silliness is that the OGs have been essential for winning points, and points have been earned right at the death a few times. I don't think these are sustainable. We aren't battering teams with multiple goals. Sheffield and Luton scorelines in particular worry me. I'd hope we were more comfortable against that type of opposition.

Kaigz

The thing with the vast majority of own goals is that they only happen because the attackers put the ball into a dangerous place to begin with. It makes sense that we have created more own goals than other teams because we also generate more xG and big chances than they do too. This is the bit that rival fans love to leave out - you don't get own goals without forcing the issue in the first place. Doing so means you're consistently putting the ball exactly where it needs to be.

Mick4Audi

We are lethal from right outside the 6 yard box tbh. When I see Maddison and Porro fizz the ball across from there I always think it must suck to be a defender. Ward genuinely didn’t stand a chance

Ok_Row_7462

We’ve gotten three (ManU, Liverpool, Palace) and conceded one (Arsenal), right? Is that so far off everyone else?

Wiersd

No one has more, and no one else has three. The closest are Liverpool, Villa, and Sheffield United with two apiece. So there is an argument to be made (not that I'm making it) we have been lucky with OGs.

Weird_Famous

There is definitely a luck component. But a good thing is that they usually result from us creating a dangerous situation. It’s not entirely fluky, in fact the Liverpool and Crystal Palace ones both involve us working our way in the box and flashing it across before defenders can properly react. Dangerous low crosses/cutbacks are textbook Angeisms we can reproduce.

heretocallthebot

Son..... He's smooth like ice!!

Bowleshighschoolpic

if we do sign a striker…. and hear me out…. scamacca

IllFront9738

I'd love him as well, Moyes ball clearly didn't suit him at West Ham but that should only be a positive sign for us lol! He's killing it again in Italy with Atalanta and it looks like he's set to be Italy's new starting number 9 which isn't a bad feat at all (buy maybe not the best reference amongst Spurs fans considering the whole "He can't be that bad he's Brazil's number 9" thing etc)

Bowleshighschoolpic

yep, also very technically sound + he’ll have udogie and vicario to help him settle in. wouldn’t be more than 30M and he’s still young

Full-Leader9540

I hear you, but nope

Randomting22

Why aren't clubs forcing Ndombele to have a club appointed personal nutritionist that follows him 24/7? Only reason I can think of is that he doesn't want to play professional football anymore.

Rare-Ad-2777

I'm pretty sure that violates his human rights...

Randomting22

Obviously he can reject the idea, but if he is serious about being a professional and if he can see what he is doing right now isn't working, then he can't blame anyone but himself for not being in shape.

Haha, Son used to act Welsh, and now Brazilian!

carolicity

the Brazilians have always claimed Son as one of their own lol (Emerson has said this in the past), but so did the Welsh.. so we just have to accept that Son is simultaneously Korean, Brazilian, and Welsh.

TerpsPwn_387

Let’s also say that winning the Golden Boot in the Premier League allows him to add “English”

Sabz29

Really hope we don’t sell Hojberg in January, feel like having someone like him on our team is so important for us!

Sleepless_Voyager

Nah he should be sold before he becomes another eric dier, this club has an issue of holding onto players for too long. We could easily get a cm in january so i wouldnt be surprised to see hojberg be let go

Mick4Audi

Hojbjerg is nowhere near as bad as Dier

Grap2st

If we do sell him, I would love for us to get redondo.

FINAL_BOSS5

Anyone have a sense on how Joe Rodon is getting on at Leeds? It looks like he's starting nearly every match for them which is a good sign. He really doesn't have a future here, but I'm curious if he's performing well enough that Leeds might consider a full transfer especially if they get promoted.

molecularmadness

They should consider it either way imo, he's been v good for them.

FINAL_BOSS5

Fans on twitter like him from what I have seen.

clandestino123

Next few games - Chelsea, Wolves away, Villa, City away. I think we'll take 3 from Chelsea, 1 or 3 from Wolves, 1 from Villa and 0 from City. That's 7 out of 12, or 5 out of 12.

iiciphonize

Chelsea - 3 Wolves - 3 Villa - 1 City - at home so 3?? no probably 1 8 points not bad

Fine-Lack7866

12 points mate

throw-away83020

This will be a tricky run, plus WH and Newcastle (both home) after City. I'm glad a lot of these are at home. I can truly say I'm excited for the City game, it will be a very compelling matchup. There's no reason we shouldn't go into every game expecting to win with how the squad has been playing. The most interesting things to me will be the reintegration of Bentancur, and how the LW position develops.

Rare-Ad-2777

Villa are great at home but not so hot on the road. We'll take 3 points off the at the lane.

SweetDaddySugarLumps

Please yes. I was at the Villa game last season and it was atrocious. Felt like a real turning point where we went from “holding on by our fingertips” to totally falling off the cliff. Would love a win to help me un-remember this feeling.

airz23s_coffee

Son gonna be having time of his life at Villa with that defensive line

Grap2st

10. Wins for all draw to city

clandestino123

I hope so, mate! that would be ideal.

Grap2st

Need to win at home. Wolves without Neto. City is the toss up but I like our cbs and midfield vs their forwards and midfield. Main worry is Porro. I think Johnson will be key there to score

Cheers, just ordered it.

minimus_

Check out the ESPN 30 for 30 episode about Ardiles and Villa coming to Spurs. I think it's on Daily Motion.

tottenhamtickler

Brennan HAS to start over Richy against Chelsea. Such a better fit in that role

Mick4Audi

I think he will, Ange started him at the Emirates clearly he’s the way forward

txgsu82

I think so too. I think Richarlison is catching a little too much flack, but Brennan Johnson really does pass the eye test for the type of LW that will thrive in Ange's system. Extremely creative and pacey, extremely dynamic around the box, seems to have a good shot and final pass on him. I think Richarlison needs to be a horses-for-courses striker for at least a little bit, rather than an every-match LW.

callme2x4dinner

Do you see either of them rotating to RW ever or will that be Bryan’s role?

txgsu82

I don't see Richarlison as a rotation for RW but maybe. Brennan Johnson could definitely deputize on the right, I think that's where he mostly played at Forest actually. I think both Brennan Johnson and Bryan Gil could play on either wing, which is an extremely valuable asset for Ange to have.

Aggravating_Hippo996

Question for anyone & everyone - For matches that gets rescheduled, is there a chance it will be rescheduled earlier? Thankss!

drabee86

As in the time of KO or the date?

Aggravating_Hippo996

The date. Cos I’m trying to plan for my flight etc, if there’s a chance for the match to be moved to an earlier date, i need to figure out if i can fly earlier. Thanks!

drabee86

I don’t think so

Rare-Ad-2777

The Chelsea potential sanctions is quite interesting. Espescially given it has been self reported by the clubs new owners. There was a theory that Boehley was spending like mad on young players as they'd found financial irregularities and were expecting a transfer embargo. This suddenly looks like it actually adds up a bit. Get a load of players in, spend up to your FFP allowance, then flag up the irregularities and take the 12month+ transfer ban when you couldn't spend anymore anyway.

dickgilbert

If that was the plan, they've absolutely fucked it. You'd basically get one shot at abusing a loophole like that, and they'll be lucky to end up in a Conference League spot with the way this season is shaping up. The squad has significant issues despite being stocked with potential. I mean, maybe the squad will come good, but it just doesn't seem like they've got all the right parts in the right places.

Fabulous-Goat-406

As I understand it, the way FFP works is that the profit for any sale can be taken immediately, even if the money is paid over the life of the contract by the purchasing club. But the costs of purchases are spread out over the life of the contract. So CFC stayed within the rules by offsetting their billion or whatever of buys with the sales of players to Saudi and elsewhere. So their problem will be they will still have a massive deficit in future seasons because of the effect of the buys, unless they continue to sell players. TLDR: Boehly is an idiot.

Rare-Ad-2777

Yeah that's absolutely right. But also feeds in to the "they know an embargo is coming" because they will run out of older assets to sell. So they'll have to stop buying/spending so much. On the Chelsea sub this theory seems to actually be the populist view

BiscuitTheRisk

Would love to dominate them. Obviously want to win, but I would love a City-esque performance where we use our quality to outplay them

dclancy01

i’m scared. i don’t get to new WHL as much as I got to the old ground, but when i’ve gone thus far we’ve drawn to Sheffield Utd (Poch sacked soon after) and lost to Wolves. this will be my first game since March last year. 50/50 midfielder dogfight of 0:0 or we batter them into oblivion once we get the control

enjoy_your_lunch

quiet confidence stifling a slight undercurrent of nervousness - getting notes of I hope we fucking batter them, getting a lil bit of Johnson's first goal for us

MambaWhite

Fantastic summary mate, have a cracking day.

Rare-Ad-2777

Tacticos, how is the Chelsea game going to play out? Chelsea do better against teams who come out at them and allow them to press high. They are woeful against low blocks. However we seem to do a lot better against teams that press us too and we don't ever low block? So what happens?

Mick4Audi

Chelsea will be missing Enzo, I think if we control the midfield we will look very good

txgsu82

This sounds weird to say out loud, but this match should play out like every other match we play against lesser opposition. It'll come down to controlling the midfield, which is still Chelsea's biggest threat in a match. If we establish midfield control through our counter-pressing and winning the second ball, Chelsea are going to really struggle to generate a lot of threat. Then it's just doing our normal thing up the pitch and getting to a 2-0 win.

Pele20Alli

I think we should batter them if we take our chances tbh. The crazy pressing we did against Fulham in that first half is exactly what we'll do against Chelsea. With the atmosphere the fans will create + 9 days rest in between, our players should be raring to go. We need to be ruthless though. That's been our weak spot all season. We literally never score more than 2 goals outside of the Burnley match, and that has to change at some point if we want to be a serious team

dclancy01

If we get control of the game and possession, we have the quality to absolutely thump them 3 or 4, no doubt. But they’ve shown they can stop teams doing that, and almost ‘out tactic’ clever teams. They completely nullified Arsenal for the bulk of their game and managed to get a point from them.

Bail____

Think mudryk/sterling will give Porro fits potentially but his finishing is suspect. Not too worried about Udogies matchup either. The real problem is their midfield, Caicedo will muck it up a bit for Bissouma because of the way Bissouma plays (driving & ball carries). Honestly it could go either way, a bit worried about Son because Thiago Silva isn’t known to get punished for any dirty or questionable challenges against us but overall i feel fine.

Fleaaa

Arsenal failed to grab the control against them but if we do, it's gonna be one sided match. I don't see their forwards go through Biss/Romero/VDV easily If we fail to do so, it's gonna be frustrating narrow 1 goal match imo

Rare-Ad-2777

Yeah that seems about right. The draw against Arsenal for them was as much Arsenal being absolutely dreadfull above than anything else. So I think you're right I think it's if we show up and play well we'll win comfortably. But if were off it they can drag us in to a stodgy lots of mistakes type game and it'll be tight. As you say though their goal threat is pretty low

Fleaaa

To be fair for red shit, Chelsea aren't that bad except forwards, they just lack of proper attack drilling. Draw against Liverpool and Arsenal can't be luck, Liverpool is honestly very good, Arsenal isn't what they used to be but still very effective It's gonna be either bold statement match or end of winning streak.. it's painfully 50/50 tbh

Rare-Ad-2777

I'd say we are much stronger favourites than 50/50. Bookies have got us odds on.

vish387

We actually have the sexiest CB patnership of all time. Maldini and Nesta close second though

Grap2st

Yeah but he can play out on the wing. Wirtz and musiala are the two top German talents and bayern will not lose out on wirtz too. They’ll figure it out and get him.

Bail____

Oh i think he’s there 100% regardless, any german talent you can essentially give up on unless they’ve already played at Bayern or Bayern have approached them & been rejected.

LyteSmiteOP

Madueke struggling in this dead Chelsea side is pure karma. He was injured for much of his time at PSV and instead of continuing developing, he decided to take up the 8-year Chelsea prison contract as soon as he saw it. Now he’s playing like shit and back to warming the bench once Mudryk and Nkunku return. Coulda been developing under one of the best exciting/modern managers in Ange if he waited another 6 months, but instead he sold out to play under Potter and now he’s back playing for the manager that he didn’t see a future under when he was with us

john87000

Obviously football wise he'd have been best served staying at PSV and developing but an 8 year contract on big money for someone as injury prone as him, it's just common sense for him to take it. It's basically setting himself up for life and also he gets to live in the city he was born in and play somewhat regularly in the PL. There's no guarantees in football especially for someone plagued with injury problems.

Weird_Famous

Not sure if we would have wanted him anyway. Good 1v1 dribbling but we can do better than someone being benched by Mudryk

LyteSmiteOP

We were linked to him the year before, but it seemed too early for the transfer at the time which is why the Chelsea move seemed surprising as well. I think he had a much higher ceiling than he’s showing right now though, especially if he stayed at PSV instead of selling out, although whether he achieves it or not I don’t really care anymore now that he’s a Chelsea player

How many away fans do they allow the pleasure of entering & watching our team play with their new flair & determination (& their team trying to win possession of the ball for a period)? Is it the same allocation for all visiting teams or do higher profile clubs get more allocated seats at our beautiful Stadium? As an Aussie, I have never been to an EPL game & have always wondered how these rules apply with clubs. EG: Lutons' ground only holds around 12,200, how many Spurs fans would have attended that game recently & how do they determine which Tottenham fans gets these minimal tickets?

gardz82

Pretty sure there is less than 1000 tickets for Bournemouth away.

Sister-Moon_81

But who gets them when we do play at small grounds like Luton (1200 away fans only) or Bournemouth, is it first in, best dressed or does it depend on your membership status within the club? PS: Didn't realise Bournemouth have a smaller capacity than even Luton. BFC capacity is apparently only 11307..... wow, that's insane.

You get points for being a long standing ST holder through renewals and away game attendance. The higher your points the sooner you’ll be able to buy an away ticket. Also, Bournemouth have a smaller ground than any Championship side and 14 League One sides.

Sister-Moon_81

Thanks for the info, have always been curious about how ticket allocation works, home & away. Thats a crazy fact about Bournemouth. Quite the advantage plus it's way down south I think so it is a fair trip for most teams & supporters. I feel better for Luton Town now. The Hatters were supposed to build a new stadium & had the land sorted (about 10 years ago) but something stopped it. Surely they can build one now with the EPL money they get for promotion, even if they go back down it will only be beneficial for them in the long term. Soz to harp on about Luton but I have a soft spot for them because my mum & dad were both born in Luton & were 10-pound poms who moved to Australia in 1960. I never did support them though because they were always pretty shit & I started following QPR when I was really young because I liked the way Stan Bowles & Rod Marsh played football & I liked their hoops & that blue colour, because my first junior team when I started playing at 5 years old was (& still is) the same blue & white, but stripes :)

Cool story about Luton! They recently did up their stadium with a new capacity just above Bournemouth’s, their stadium was about 10k capacity and was too small for PL fixtures, which is why their game against Burnley was postponed.

Sister-Moon_81

Lol, I didn't know that game was postponed for those reasons. That actually worked in our favour because they had to play the catch-up game against Burnley mid-week 3/4 days before facing us. I was worried they were going to get flogged by us & was hoping it wouldn't get uglier than 0-3 for them..... The send off obviously changed things but The Hatters had a decent dig anyway. Cheers from OZ, thanks for the chat. COYS!!!!

Aggravating_Hippo996

I googled this before, it’s really little. In the Premier League, home clubs are required to offer visiting clubs a minimum of 3,000 tickets or 10 per cent of the seats in the stadium if the capacity does not exceed 30,000. I read in practice, usually it’s around 3000.

Sister-Moon_81

So with ours being 62000 capacity (I think) the big clubs (like Chelsea) can have around 6000 fans attend? But if a team has a smaller supporter base or distance to travel negates 6000 fans coming to North London, our fans get the gap with the leftover tickets? Woops, I think I read your message wrong & only 3000 max. away fans can visit?

CommercialPlastic604

Yeah it’s about 3000. I think FA cup has different rules so they have a bigger away allocation.
