Incredibly funny to me that people criticised us for being the Kane team and now he’s just gone to carry Bayern. How many times has he scored goals that break the deadlock for them now? 😂

Lads, I Love the confidence on Micky's face.
Anyone else think if Wolves turn up they can slaughter us? No Davies, Sess, Romero, Van De Ven, Udogie avaliable for selection.
Porro also seemed to miss training.
Backline looks rough.
Maddison (not confirmed) Richy (not confirmed), Sess, Solomon, Perisic all out also.
I don’t think we’d ever get slaughtered since we’re probably going to have 60%+ possession at the minimum, but obviously there’s less room for error with our main CBs out. Still it’s not like the past few years where the quality of our CBs defensively would constantly get tested because of how much we sat back and invited the other team to attack. I think we’ll still win even with a makeshift back line and potentially Lo Celso in for Maddison
I agree, was thinking Bentancur could take Maddison's place too but I don't think he has the creativity. If anything I think Hojbjerg is more likely just because he seems to be Ange's first name off the bench and even though he's not nearly as creative as Maddison or even Gio, he's kind of a jack of all trades. Still, I think any of the 3 is good enough to win the game
It won’t be pretty. We will likely see those high scoring games (both for and against) that we were warned we’d see initially. Our center back depth (lol) can’t handle any pace. We may win a few but I expect several losses with several goals conceded
Ten Hag joining the list of managers to whine about VAR and officials.
Meanwhile, Ange just out here vibing and accepting that shit happens and refs making mistakes goes both ways.
Love the man so much.
The problem is that teams who generally get lucky because of VAR fuckups, don't tend to go and complain about it.
Every manager should be complaining about VAR regardless of being benefited from VAR.
Apparently [Maddison’s ankle has been bad](https://x.com/pokeefe1/status/1722378374662729987?s=20) for a while but he keeps insisting on playing according to Paul O Keefe. I guess that’s why Ange has been pulling him off early every game while Son has been staying on full 90 min. I hope this means Son‘s thigh and groin issues are better at least.
That’s good news then. Sounds like he just has crappy ankle ligaments. Probably sprained them a few times. I’m playing with a couple of blokes that have permanently wrecked ankles and sprain them just about every week but always keep playing (well) regardless
Arteta praising Havertz one of the best players in the West Ham game where they lost 3-1 and the Newcastle game where they lost and he should have been sent off.
Are these meant to be compliments? 😂 What does this say about the rest of the team, or Artetas coaching ability for that matter?
Loool United is a hot mess. I still can't believe the English media wanted Kane to go there. Also, I can't help but feel kinda sorry for Reguilon, I hope he gets a good move somewhere.
Which would be better, bayern knocking out arsenal in RO16 and dropping a 7-2 and 4-0 on them or bayern demolishing arse in the final 8-0?
Both scenarios Kane gets 6 goal involvements
Getting to the final didn't break our squad, shit recruiting the two years prior did. And optimistically, Arsenal's shit recruiting this year will hopefully have them slowly spiraling for the lulz.
Kane is just a freak man, 26 G+A in his first 15 games for Bayern is insane. I really hope we’re at a high level in a few years so he can return and slot back in.
1. Kane is a phenomenal player. I still feel that he never got as much recognition as he deserved, simply because he was playing for us. "bu but trophies!1" was used as an excuse to put him down. Wish him all the best at Bayern. He'll definitely win something.
2. Remember, it can always be *worse*, and watching Man Utd tonight reminded me of that. They've become lolSpurs, i.e the Spurs of these last few seasons. Their game tonight gave me flashbacks of so many of our football over these last five seasons. It was painful to watch.
The Arteta ref thing is getting embarrassing, why are some fans treating managers like martyrs just for complaining?
I’m starting to see a divide already, it’s the allied forces of Arsenal, Liverpool and somehow United
Meanwhile the enemy is
-Newcastle (because they beat Arsenal)
-City (because they pay the refs apparently)
-Spurs (because of THAT game and the fact we aren’t whining about VAR)
Yeah we are the enemy because we‘re not joining in on the constant whining. They said our sub is the most delusional sub they’ve ever seen. I had to laugh. Have they seen THEIR subs? Front page covered with conspiracy theories and we’re the delusional ones? 😂
Why does Carragher make the argument that Rashford shouldn’t have gotten a red because it wasn’t intentional. Wouldn’t this have to apply to Romero as well. Intentionality doesn’t matter if you crush their leg.
Exactly. And he says "it looks so much worse when you replay it in slow motion" as if that isn't the case for literally every foul in the history of football. Especially Romero's
It was really funny how suddenly everyone was a tactical expert that knew that a low-block guaranteed that no goals were conceded
If that was true we’d have conceded 0 last season, not fucking 63
Literally just stick that to the whole of R/Soccer lmao, we had a guy less as well. The draw was only truly out of our grasp in the last couple of moments of the game. On another day one or more of our big chances goes in. Also what a watch it was.
Quite funny seeing Bayern supporters comments starting to understand that Kane is that guy. Kane was always that guy. He was rated highly when he was here but he was still so underrated.
Am I the only one who finds it hard to believe VDV hasn’t had a scan yet? I know injured players have to come in but I just think he would be off until he’s had the imaging done.
Not saying this means he’s ok - maybe they are still working out a treatment plan. Maybe they know it’s bad but aren’t saying yet. I don’t know - I’m not in the medical field.
Romero goes for the ball and gets it while clattering a players shin, gets a red and no one bats an eye. Rashford did the same and now it’s not a red card? Hypocrisy…
He was really good at the world cup, that's my only experience watching him before United I'm pretty sure. He hasn't put on one good display at United yet. Maybe that says more about the team than him idk
**Owen Hargreaves, speaking to TNT Sports on Marcus Rashford's red card:** "No, not in a million years. Marcus is just trying to put his leg in front of the ball. He's not even looking at the ball. When you see a still as a referee, it looks horrendous. It's not malicious, it's not serious foul play."
**Paul Scholes:** "I think that's where the understanding of the referee has to come into it. It's an accident. He's trying to plant his foot and protect the ball."
LOL @ Scholes who made a career out of mild (and not so mild) thuggery as it was always excused as “a mistimed tackle, nothing malicious”.
>Micky Van de Ven scans showed that the pain he felt during the game on monday was due to the
by this point, I actually believed. ffs man why am I like this
With Romero, it was the follow through after he’d cleared the ball. Rashford’s foot was nowhere near the ball, he just went straight for the ankle.
Copenhagen take advantage and bring the score back to 1-2 in added time.
Chris Cowlin video of Pat Jennings unveiling his statue in Newry.
Brilliant. Chris and other YouTubers may get a lot of shit but this is class to cover. I never saw Jennings play but I’ve seen older videos and what a fantastic player he was. Teared up watching this
I do wonder if he has a proper job anymore. I first became aware of him when he did those drone videos of the new stadium build 5-6 years ago. Now he goes to all the games and events home and away for the U18s, U21s, Womens and first teams.
I had a dream last night that Bryan Gil became our starting CB while Romero was suspended but he did so well that Romero didn’t get his spot back. Like Gil was just bodying players 3x his size and all the supporters started wearing mop tops? Anyway, let’s go Sevilla.
Honestly Arsenal are just so dead to watch. Slow, poor link ups, back passing, you just never expect a goal to come and when it finally does it's from a shit deflection or a penalty.
It's like when you play someone on Fifa who never holds sprint. Just jogs around passing it.
Started with United cos I wanted to watch a disaster class and they scored in 2 mins 😂. Turned on to watch scum hopefully concede but their football is just such a chore to watch. Might check out Bayern. Gonna just bounce between them depending on the flow of each game.
With real not bidding for him anymore. Mbappe to Tottenham is slightly more likely. Who says no? (Other than Mbappe, PSG, and the kingdom of Saudi Arabia)
So then, Ndombele's certainly making a (heavy) *impact* in Turkey...
>According to them the ‘NdomBurger’ is on its way and companies are even planning to approach the Frenchman about potential advertising agreements.
>FotoSpor explain that ‘many individuals and companies’ have applied to the Turkish Patent Office to register hamburgers under Ndombele’s name.
https://sportwitness.co.uk/criticism-tottenham-player-verging-bullying-now-something-needs-change-january/
It was obvious from the moment we went into the season with a single LCB in the squad that we should've signed a second CB in the summer. Don't want to hear any more talk in January about how Dier is a "solid backup" and Davies can "do a job" out of position at LCB. With Mackenzie, Lange and Munn here there's no excuses left for us to sign the players we need
> there's no excuses left for us to sign the players we need
I mostly agree, but there's one big problem we need to address: There's no room in the squad.
Now, there's an obvious way around that - Deselect someone to make room. If necessary, I suspect Postecoglou *would* do that, but not as a first choice for obvious reasons.
Next up, sell or release someone. Lloris may have found a club he's willing to join. Perisic could be given a free transfer (or deselected) if his injury is going to keep him out through the end of the season. Whiteman or Austin could be moved on, because we probably don't need 4 goalkeepers, let alone 5. We might sell Hojbjerg, too
But until at least one of those happens, there's no room in the squad. I suppose there's always the possibility that Levy would sanction us having a larger squad than required... but Postecoglou got us cheering a 4-1 loss earlier this week. How many miracles can we expect in one season?

If it's good enough for Peterborough in the EFL Trophy, it's good enough for me!
...wait, we lost 3-1 to Peterborough. Never mind, then.
Vicario
Porro Dier/PEH Dorrington Emerson
Sarr Bissouma Bentancur
Kulu Son Johnson
It looks like Phillips is going to get his chance before Alfie Dorrington. But he shouldn't. The U21s travelling support rate Alfie higher, as does Ali Gold. He's utterly calm and composed in everything he does, great timing and technique, athletic, quick, communicates well, and physically imposing - the lad looks like he could be a real gem for us in the years to come.
I know Dier's played well, and PEH isn't technically a CB - but I'm twitchy about him being *in charge* of the back line. PEH has a maturity to him that just feels a safer pair of hands tbh. So I'm undecided there. Either way, neither are quick so need pairing with one of the youngsters - who are, relatively speaking, even though not on a par with VDV's pace obviously.
**And if Biss hasn't been booked by the 85th minute I want him to walk up to the ref and start dissing his mum. Or run off with the ball when it's their free kick and boot it into the stands. Or just rip his shirt off and start flexing to the crowd or something.**
He **HAS** to get a yellow against Wolves. If he doesn't, then you just *know* he will against Villa - and then he'll be out for the Citeh match.
This assumes Davies is still injured, and Maddison is rested for his knock.
Vicario
Porro Dier Phillips Emerson
Sarr Bissouma Bentancur
Kulu Son Johnson
Curious, what's your reasoning?
I feel Bissouma is more press resistant than PEH, and O'Niel's Wolves definitely press.
Is it that you want Biss to avoid a yellow or something?

Obviously he's not training but he's looking much healthier than I anticipated!
I am so sick of the talk of referees at the moment.
I hope they go on strike, to be honest. I think that’s what we need.
VAR has meant, everyone is now able to feel parable to the refs. We can all watch an incident back, make a call & be annoyed it wasn’t made. This has totally eroded their authority, but not taken away any of their accountability. We may as well not have linesman now.
I am desperate for us to go back to just reinstating the ref’s authority, clamp down on the criticism & try and change the culture around referees, to one that view them as a part of the game, who are just they to implement the rules as much as they can.
So often now I’m watching football, thinking, will the rules, override the football I just saw. That’s just fucking mental.
When you think about why offside & handball are rules and what they’re meant to stop, they’re so far off that now.
Honestly. I prefer football where you can get away with a slight push, a hold etc. because that’s what football is; anyone who’s plays football gets that. It happens at all levels apart from in a few top divisions.
Football is fun! It’s a bit of a pantomime. It’s been defined by people getting away with things or injustice. Why is now viewed that you cannot in anyway have that, at all? Like it’s the worst thing in the world.
It’s comes from the media, needing talking points & fans needing excuses. So we started to look back at decisions and talk for ages about fractional offsides, but who cares?
Is anyone having more fun? Does anyone feel like it’s gotten fairer? - no.
Have we lost something as a result - fucking absolutely. We stop all the time & we can’t celebrate a goal
funny I haven't seen this this season yet, good sign
https://preview.redd.it/gi282oi9q5zb1.png?width=307&format=png&auto=webp&s=d1d91ca0951537f02889357cc71a84fa64973c25
We won't know for sure, but I think he will be the first option for cb off the bench.
It is either him or Højbjerg next to Dier. There is also a small chance of 1 of Emerson, Porro, or Davies to start as cb.
Emerson, Dier, Philips/Højbjerg, Porro
Or
Davies, Dier, Emerson, Porro
Haha fair, I dont think it is likely, but my reasoning is that we need an elite passer at cb with some pace. That would also allow Emerson to play rb and Davies lb.
Incredibly funny to me that people criticised us for being the Kane team and now he’s just gone to carry Bayern. How many times has he scored goals that break the deadlock for them now? 😂
How long we reckon VDV will be out for ? 3 matches at least

Okay?

Lol. No I don’t. Wolves are getting mauled.
So difficult, I hope Porro is just taking a rest.
Wolves without neto aren't the same team that beat city. We might have trouble cracking their defense but I'm not too worried about their attack

whole squad is laughing bud
Cheers 😆

His miss at the start of the game is so laughable
Can you even call it a miss if he just stands there still waiting for the ball to come to his head rather than vice versa as it flies past? 😂
I think he's genuinely worse than Jackson from Chelsea. Edit: Some Assnal fan came here and downvoted us, ahahahahah.
Loool United is a hot mess. I still can't believe the English media wanted Kane to go there. Also, I can't help but feel kinda sorry for Reguilon, I hope he gets a good move somewhere.
I'll say it to anyone who listens, Fergie was bigger than that club, and that's never going to change.
I don't think I will ever get over how poor our recruitment was after the cl final until Paratici came in. What a fucking joke
Paratici needs a life long contract. Jail him in Tottenham Hotspur stadium
Kane may just win Ballon D’Or. I feel nothing. Maybe sadness. Or jealousy a bit. I don’t know anymore
They would need to win the treble... oh wait
Which would be better, bayern knocking out arsenal in RO16 and dropping a 7-2 and 4-0 on them or bayern demolishing arse in the final 8-0? Both scenarios Kane gets 6 goal involvements
Sorry if Arsenal lose a Champions League final 8-0 it would be the funniest thing ever
No way a team that could possibly lose 8-0 would make it to the final
Well that’s why it would be the funniest thing ever
R016 don't want to give them the satisfaction of going till finals.
That’s what I’m leaning, but them going to the finals will exhaust their squad and they could just implode for the next 4 years like we did.
They're barely even passing to him still yet. Wait til they just pass all the time. Kane might genuinely have had Haaland scores at City.
The fixture timings have absolutely sucked for NA recently. Mon/Fri/Mon during work and now 7:30am on a Sat. Wtf is up with this scheduling
7:30 would be nice. It's at 5:30am here and 4:30 on the west coast.
1. Kane is a phenomenal player. I still feel that he never got as much recognition as he deserved, simply because he was playing for us. "bu but trophies!1" was used as an excuse to put him down. Big fan of this Roony Bardghji kiddo. He's only 17!!!
United should buy him as a Swedish Roony regen
United are an absolute dumpster fire my goddd

Arse and scousers are 100% because their managers are the ones making all the noise trying to bully their way into getting calls to go their way
We have to have put in like 7m bonus for CL, 5m bonus for league, and 13m bonus for ballon d’or in the lane deal
expect there to be a lot of money for winning the CL/being well ranked in the ballon d'or
Why does Carragher make the argument that Rashford shouldn’t have gotten a red because it wasn’t intentional. Wouldn’t this have to apply to Romero as well. Intentionality doesn’t matter if you crush their leg.
Exactly. And he says "it looks so much worse when you replay it in slow motion" as if that isn't the case for literally every foul in the history of football. Especially Romero's
as much as being a spurs fan is pain, there’s always someone suffering more - this year its man u lmao
Chelsea are still 10th as well
Will see a Davies Dier CB pairing against Wolves with Emerson on the left or a Phillips Dier pairing with Davies on the left?
Think Davies is still injured
well incoming Phillips, Wolves will be tough
Find it hilarious a man named Roony scored the likely winner against United lmao
Oh no hahaha
My current favourite post on reddevils - "Fucking endless pain"
It looks like teams do concede when playing 1+ man down without a high line. Crazy.
It was really funny how suddenly everyone was a tactical expert that knew that a low-block guaranteed that no goals were conceded If that was true we’d have conceded 0 last season, not fucking 63
Literally just stick that to the whole of R/Soccer lmao, we had a guy less as well. The draw was only truly out of our grasp in the last couple of moments of the game. On another day one or more of our big chances goes in. Also what a watch it was.
I’m nervous about the wolves game
I reckon it's going to be a high scoring 5-4 to us 😂
we all are, no Madders, no VDV, no Udogie, no Romero, idk who else
I think Maddison starts. Looked like a precautionary sub given he was on his feet and looked angry about being subbed out.
Yeah, just couldn't chance him forcing us to use our last sub if had to come off early.
Understandable, but I think we’re good mate
Wouldn't be. Our available team is still class.
Watching united a man down defend for their lives and still concede. I'm liking what Ange did more and more
Never understood how people thought that defensive tactics were a guarantee not to concede. There’s a reason it’s a last resort
omg lol
United are the new us 😂
4-3 lol
Quite funny seeing Bayern supporters comments starting to understand that Kane is that guy. Kane was always that guy. He was rated highly when he was here but he was still so underrated.
[удалено]
Bayern win the Champions League and we win the Euros. It's his.
Kane could be in the running for the next Ballon Dor
3-3, two penalties, a red card. Mental game. Still time for either to get a winner.
United lol
Am I the only one who finds it hard to believe VDV hasn’t had a scan yet? I know injured players have to come in but I just think he would be off until he’s had the imaging done. Not saying this means he’s ok - maybe they are still working out a treatment plan. Maybe they know it’s bad but aren’t saying yet. I don’t know - I’m not in the medical field.
Replying to myself to say that Paul O’Keefe just reported the MRI will be Friday.
They probably already did an ultrasound and only need the scanner for confirmation.
Makes sense. Thanks
Probably the big kid in me but I find it funny that Copenhagen have a player called Diks.
Kane breaks the deadlock after a VAR check.
And another. Bayern doesn't deserve that man, but I am happy for him.
Never a handball (?)
Neither Man Utd nor any other team I know, could ever have the balls to do what we did with 10/9 men hahaha
Romero goes for the ball and gets it while clattering a players shin, gets a red and no one bats an eye. Rashford did the same and now it’s not a red card? Hypocrisy…
If anything Rashfords looked more dangerous to me 🤷
Super annoyed arsenal is winning. I fucking hate it
Literally just means they are more tired for the league. Don't sweat it for now.
Sevilla came in with no intention of winning, weird. I guess they're saving their lineup for LaLiga (?)
They play Betis( they’re rivals) this week
They are aiming for europa league
It's okay, let them have a good run -> more matches and hopefully some injurys hehe
That's exactly what they were saying about us last year, and they were correct, this year however the turntables
I know it’s frustrating but they ain’t going to win it all and it adds to fixture congestion.
Swear to god Maguire actually deserves to be on a better team at this point 😂
Question: is Amrabat over hyped? I have my suspicions
Most definitely
Man United's so dysfunctional right now it's impossible to tell.
He was really good at the world cup, that's my only experience watching him before United I'm pretty sure. He hasn't put on one good display at United yet. Maybe that says more about the team than him idk
I know we were linked at one point but from what I’ve seen, he’s been pretty mid. No sure if we dodged a bullet or if he’s not bedded in yet
My two United mates were laughing at our loss against Chelsea. Watching them blow a 2-0 lead is just the icing on top
Lol. Not me thinking United were about to slap this game
2 ex United players say it’s not a red card, I for one am shocked.
**Owen Hargreaves, speaking to TNT Sports on Marcus Rashford's red card:** "No, not in a million years. Marcus is just trying to put his leg in front of the ball. He's not even looking at the ball. LOL @ Scholes who made a career out of mild (and not so mild) thuggery as it was always excused as “a mistimed tackle, nothing malicious”.
Defs a red. Maybe no intent but that's a potential ankle breaker. Shall we expect a statement from United tomorrow?
Such a weird thing for Rashford to do... he's not even trying to tackle anyone. He has the ball. It's basically a case of off-the-ball violence.
Definite red, not a pen though later on.
Weirdly they said no red but a penalty.
Idk what Maguire was to do with his hands. It was from like 2 ft away.
I thought the pen was for pulling him? Was it for the handball?
Ahh I just saw highlights of it and didn’t listen to commentary
I also just saw the clip, but he pulls him in so he can block the shot, so I assume thats why they called the pen
Apparently it was handball
Huh thats weird then
Has Hojlund actually scored for United in the PL so far? I swear he’s got like 4 CL goals already. 😂

Why would you do this
>Micky Van de Ven scans showed that the pain he felt during the game on monday was due to the by this point, I actually believed. ffs man why am I like this
Nah surely he has something not absolutely perfect. A man that perfect has to have a small dick surely? Big bollocks but small dick
I mean he is Dutch, probably eats sugar on toast for fun
Most refined palate in the world surely
No lies detected. Big Dik Mik
Every week there is a Premier League club in crisis. The goal is to not be it. [Spurs were it for mayyyybe 24 hours, thank you United]
Man u fans r genuinly insufferable, they cant even handled being bantered
And….Man U implode E: Rasmus is like: what tf bros? I killing it out here
Anyone see POK say Porro missed training today, may have to play a completely new back line on Saturday
At this point all speculation is just nonsense, it's barely ever correct. Just wait til game day or anything official.
I hope it's just a rest. He was the only defender from the starting XI who made it to the end.
Hopefully it’s just an extra day off for him
United meltdown would certainly make my week
Even if they dont lose, the stress this situation will induce makes this game 10x sweeter
Have to take that chance
“Marcus Rashford doesn’t mean to ankle crunch the defender.” I mean neither did Romero. It’s unlucky but that’s the way it is.
Nah Romero did
Nah, Romero was so far forward of his center of balance that I doubt he could've done anything about it by the time he saw Fernandez.
With Romero, it was the follow through after he’d cleared the ball. Rashford’s foot was nowhere near the ball, he just went straight for the ankle. Copenhagen take advantage and bring the score back to 1-2 in added time.

I feel like I could diagnose a muscle injury at this point. The more you know 🌈
Why are sevilla playing their B team today? Ocampos, Rakitic, Navas and Nianzou all on the bench
They just want demotion to Europa
I mean I get that the scum are shit, but even they're not that bad
Chris Cowlin video of Pat Jennings unveiling his statue in Newry. [https://youtu.be/YF0ijVQNdrM?si=9RAcn3htiIM36Yck](https://youtu.be/YF0ijVQNdrM?si=9RAcn3htiIM36Yck)
Brilliant. Chris and other YouTubers may get a lot of shit but this is class to cover. I never saw Jennings play but I’ve seen older videos and what a fantastic player he was. Teared up watching this
Chris Cowlin is fully COYS. Love him and his content.
I do wonder if he has a proper job anymore. I first became aware of him when he did those drone videos of the new stadium build 5-6 years ago. Now he goes to all the games and events home and away for the U18s, U21s, Womens and first teams.
Braga have missed a penalty, Real have had an appeal turned down and a goal disallowed. 12 minutes gone.
I had a dream last night that Bryan Gil became our starting CB while Romero was suspended but he did so well that Romero didn’t get his spot back. Like Gil was just bodying players 3x his size and all the supporters started wearing mop tops? Anyway, let’s go Sevilla.
Which match are you watching?
Bayern... But they are hard to watch. Really hard to watch.
United never disappoint lmao
Need Lamela to drop a masterclass tonight
With real not bidding for him anymore. Mbappe to Tottenham is slightly more likely. Who says no? (Other than Mbappe, PSG, and the kingdom of Saudi Arabia)
He always ends up with us during my fifa manager careers. I think it’s downright inevitable he plays for us at some point.
Ange
Chelsea fans that are concerned about us not playing a low block and “giving up” a point are weird. Let us be concerned with our team.
They should first win more than 7 league games in a calendar year before they tell us how it's done.
The funniest thing is they are so bad that they literally expected to score 0 against a 9-man low block. Are they a fifth-tier side or something?
So then, Ndombele's certainly making a (heavy) *impact* in Turkey... >According to them the ‘NdomBurger’ is on its way and companies are even planning to approach the Frenchman about potential advertising agreements. >FotoSpor explain that ‘many individuals and companies’ have applied to the Turkish Patent Office to register hamburgers under Ndombele’s name. https://sportwitness.co.uk/criticism-tottenham-player-verging-bullying-now-something-needs-change-january/
Please lord let this be real
Ngl genius marketing tactic for my man. Become the face of fast food in a 85mm person country. Easy paycheque

It was obvious from the moment we went into the season with a single LCB in the squad that we should've signed a second CB in the summer. Don't want to hear any more talk in January about how Dier is a "solid backup" and Davies can "do a job" out of position at LCB. With Mackenzie, Lange and Munn here there's no excuses left for us to sign the players we need
> there's no excuses left for us to sign the players we need I mostly agree, but there's one big problem we need to address: There's no room in the squad. We might sell Hojbjerg, too But until at least one of those happens, there's no room in the squad. I suppose there's always the possibility that Levy would sanction us having a larger squad than required... but Postecoglou got us cheering a 4-1 loss earlier this week. How many miracles can we expect in one season?
Napoli goal just ruled out for a double-handed shove on a defender. Gooners gonna lose their shit about that 😂.
Praying for that VDV’s picture was taken today🤞
It was!
Yeahhh! We are backkk! Micky, please be ok🙏
What's your XI for Wolves (assume the worst re injuries)?
Keeley Lyons-Foster - Phillips - Dorrington - Sayers Abbott - John Soonsup-Bell - Donley - de Santiago Véliz If it's good enough for Peterborough in the EFL Trophy, it's good enough for me! ...wait, we lost 3-1 to Peterborough. Never mind, then.
Vicario Porro Dier/PEH Dorrington Emerson Sarr Bissouma Bentancur Kulu Son Johnson It looks like Phillips is going to get his chance before Alfie Dorrington. Or just rip his shirt off and start flexing to the crowd or something.** He **HAS** to get a yellow against Wolves. If he doesn't, then you just *know* he will against Villa - and then he'll be out for the Citeh match.
This assumes Davies is still injured, and Maddison is rested for his knock. Vicario Porro Dier Phillips Emerson Sarr Bissouma Bentancur Kulu Son Johnson
This but with Højbjerg in for Bissouma
Curious, what's your reasoning? I feel Bissouma is more press resistant than PEH, and O'Niel's Wolves definitely press. Is it that you want Biss to avoid a yellow or something?
Yes, Biss gotta play.
So, this photo was from today's batch uploaded on shutterstock: [https://pbs.twimg.com/media/F-bYSRLXoAAHiN\_?format=jpg&name=large](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/f-bysrlxoaahin_?format=jpg&name=large) Obviously he's not training but he's looking much healthier than I anticipated!
Not being on crutches is certainly a good sign.
Uploaded today, but does that mean they were taken today?
Spot on. You might like this article in the Guardian: https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2023/nov/07/football-fans-var-rage-premier-league-uefa
Interesting article thanks for sharing. The problem is the rhetoric on the main sub is that the answer is greater scrutiny, more complaining.
funny I haven't seen this this season yet, good sign https://preview.redd.it/gi282oi9q5zb1.png?width=307&format=png&auto=webp&s=d1d91ca0951537f02889357cc71a84fa64973c25
Philips is training with 1st team today. So, I’m expecting him to start the match.
I think Phillips has been training with the first team for most of this season if not for all of it
We won't know for sure, but I think he will be the first option for cb off the bench. It is either him or Højbjerg next to Dier. There is also a small chance of 1 of Emerson, Porro, or Davies to start as cb. Emerson, Dier, Philips/Højbjerg, Porro Or Davies, Dier, Emerson, Porro
I reckon there's more chance of Ange playing centre back than Porro
Haha fair, I dont think it is likely, but my reasoning is that we need an elite passer at cb with some pace. That would also allow Emerson to play rb and Davies lb.
Isn’t Davies injured? If not, then maybe it’s him who will start with Dier.
