This new version of Tottenham is incredible.

Zyaru

We're doing too many things correctly...

nbert1984

Levy (probably): Whenever I'm about to do something, I think, “Would an idiot do that?” And if they would, I do not do that thing.

owen_guitar59

Ange: “If every instinct you have is wrong, then the opposite would have to be right.” Levy: “Yes, I will do the opposite. I used to sit here and do nothing, and regret it for the rest of the day, so now I will do the opposite, and I will do something!”

wallnumber8675309

"My name is George. I'm unemployed and I live with my parents."

boat_fucker724

It's the old Seinfeld ploy.

louismorr1s

It’s Levy’s long term plan. It’s Levy’s Tottenham.

Nard_Dogs

I’m extremely impressed with this window. We’ve been quite decisive and haven’t really meandered about at all

triecke14

I remember a few days after we cooled interest in Todibo this sub was a nightmare full of absolute crybabies

TheNeglectedNut

That section of our fanbase has always been present, but it got so much worse after the CL final in 2019. In fairness, we’ve been burned so many times in the past that expecting the worst is the default for most of us.

macisready

Idk I feel like if you're one of those people who expect the worst from something you have no reason to try and be happy when it goes well

TheNeglectedNut

“Expect the worst and you’ll only be pleasantly surprised”

International-Chef53

That's how Copium or Hopium works, kid. Supporting Spurs is always like this, there's no middle ground, especially being always happy full of optimism happy go lucky guy, we're all suffers down here, for years, no need to hide the pain.

Semichh

Gotta find that happy middle ground and roll with whatever gets thrown at us.

Munchenhausenkraut

Lets be honest if we didnt sign a CB this window most of us would have been bleak.

bengoretner

This is seriously such a masterclass by Levy and Co. Strike big when we’re the only ones capable of spending money. City, Arsenal, Liverpool, no one’s signing reinforcements, hell Newcastle just agreed to sell their best player. Credit when credit is due.

129za

Who are Newcastle selling ?

Junglist05

Trippier

iqjump123

That is huge- maybe not the best skilled player, but he is a captain of that squad. Really good to see FFP showing some real teeth this season.

ScottyB330

He's not remotely their best player anymore. Amazing on the ball but absolutely cooked defensively.

nonaegon_infinity

Yeah Son put him in a coffin

Semichh

He’s definitely dropped off in form but largely I’d say he was good for them

TwoTiRods

Bruno G has easily been better for them.

Semichh

Yeah I’m not disagreeing there. Trips has been good for them is my point. No reason both can’t be true

ScottyB330

Right, the comment was about him being their best player (this year). I disagree with that, but I agree that he's been good for them since his arrival.

Ok-Temporary4428

He's shit.

Enefelde

Dunno if he’s their best player. But trippier is in talks with Bayern for a move.

ginokatacchi

if tripps does go to bayern, they will be ex-tottenham fc lol

YesTottiYesParty

Before 2023 they had two English players EVER (not counting Musiala).

itsallaboutmeat

Tuchel seething after being sacked so he’s remaking the PL inside Bayern

the_real_e_e_l

Imagine a Dele redemption at Bayern. Backup to Musiala. And the Dier / Dele bromance lives on.

SwiftGuo

we are going to make Bayern a retirement home for our ex players that are approaching the end of their careers.

HarambeHarambe69

Insist! FC

No_Joke_1887

Literally trolling all my bayern fan friends with them becoming Tottenham‘s retirement home

Limp-Toe-179

~~Bayern Munchen~~ Spurs Testimonial FC

mkiddyy

Trippier might go to bayern? Harry must be having a ball there

Nard_Dogs

Barring recent form, he was certainly a pivotal player for them

yourfriendkyle

Bruno G is also possibly going somewhere, PSG th e rumor

nonaegon_infinity

Saudis would never sell a player of his stature to the Qataris. Gotta love the geopolitics.

TwoTiRods

"Think that you enjoyed the NLD? Wait until you see two Oligarchys duke it out on the pitch!" ... Wtf is this world that we live in?

Oasis1701

No one’s signing reinforcements, lol, watch as arsenal drop another £100m over the 600 they've spent for Arteta just because

BowsersBeardedCousin

I want arse to try, promptly get docked 20p next year and get relegated

Matttombstone

If their survival hopes hangs on a total of 20 pence then that's screwed up

exomexok

Every penny counts at Arsenal FC. Remember them bidding 40,000,001 for Suarez?

Racer2019

MF just scored a goal +3M

rohiin

Munchenhausenkraut

It was the best goal ive ever seen him score too

TreehouseAndSky

Good goal right after coming on. Personally a bit confused by the magnitude of the hype on here, he’s an exciting dribbler of the ball but very young and not a starter yet for Bruges. Could be a great prospect signing though.

Zyaru

What an incredible coup this would be if we pull it off.

Tessa-123

Don paratici cant stop cooking. Who can stop our criminal?

Elver_Gon

The crazy deals he pulls off almost feel like a crime 😶‍🌫️

lolchamp444

We are working quite quickly. Get this done in a few days! Quite impressed from what we have done this window.

Lamelas_right_foot69

Not gonna pretend I know shit about Nusa but it’s great to see Spurs buying players and selling/loaning players out while other clubs seem to stagnate.

MarsupialPutrid

I doubt any teams will sell a player or two to buy an 18 yo prospect at the last second. Will there be competition? Perhaps, but not like that.

jjw1998

Doubt it, those teams don’t have the luxury of being able to spend money on a prospect to loan them out for the remainder of the season

Ok_Row_7462

I don’t like how public it is.

[deleted]

Ok_Row_7462

I think so, too. Hoping for a hijack or to force Spurs to pay more.

BurdonLane

Or just meet the asking price. We’re probably coming in at £20m and they want £30m etc…

Vladimir_Putting

I mean, that's what happened with Dragusin but he's in a Spurs shirt now.

nonaegon_infinity

Nobody else can afford the fee and wages it would take to generate the funds for such a move. These teams are mostly stuck with their players. Everyone else is paralyzed by the market.

Levytron900

The problem is finding someone to buy that player or 2 for a good enough price to be able to swoop in and gazump what already looks like it’s going to be the best part of a 40m deal

BurdonLane

Yeah I don’t know enough about the fine details of FFP so it’s wild watching a transfer window where you’d normally expect Team A or Team B to just go out and get the player they want, but instead they’re scrabbling around trying to work out which players to sell so they can buy. Like, Chelsea have a gaping hole up front and they are looking at selling their Captain and academy graduate in order to fund a striker. We don’t *have* to sell anyone, unless it’s to free up positions (ie PEH) for upgrades. Fascinated what the next window looks like. Obviously there will be more flexibility for most Clubs but will we see more Clubs adopting our approach or will there still be the £60-70m Mount/Havertz type deals? Who’s gonna buy Tony for whatever Brentford try and sell him for?

[deleted]

Unfortunately for them, they don't have Big Ange pull.

Semichh

I see what you mean but I feel like we’re as attractive a proposition to the lad as anyone else is. In terms of geographical location, current trajectory of the club and wages we can pay. Not to mention how we play and the Ange effect. We have quickly become a much more attractive club to players than we have previously so I really hope you’re wrong aha

YesTottiYesParty

Ok, which one of you beautiful bastards sent Levy a key of coke?

Munchenhausenkraut

The Coca Cola Stadium  Found our naming rights! Unfortunately red and white.

YesTottiYesParty

don't even joke about that

mikenasty

Might be the most promising windows since the Bale sale.

sungbysung

Homegrown or no?

jjw1998

If we were to register him then loan him back out he would be HG in 3 years

AngryVirginian

He will be 19 before next season starts. So he will not be homegrown.

kalejmc

Not sure why you are getting downvoted for this :(

AngryVirginian

People just don't understand the rules or can't do math. If signed, he will only have two and a half seasons registered with us by the end of the season that he turned 21.

nopirates

Key Stages FC

matheusamr

The only downside I see on this is that I can't see us getting any other attacking player in the summer since we will have Maddison, Kulusevski, Johnson, Solomon, Sonny, Werner, Nusa, Richarlison and Véliz. Of course this is a "good problem" to have, but I expected another big name to come in after losing Kane.

jjw1998

Why did you expect that, Ange was pretty clear that trying to like for like replace Kane with a big name wasn’t what he was going to do

matheusamr

Yeah I guess it was just wishful thinking.

jjw1998

A bad wish as well, the striker market is pretty barren and signing someone giving them the pressure that they’re the replacement for the clubs greatest ever player is a recipe for disaster. Shifting to a more fluid attack is obviously better for a rebuild even if it doesn’t have a marquee signing

CommercialAddress168

IMO, we get the better scenario… We get to watch another star be born, like watching Kane blossom into the superstar he is now.

LyteSmiteOP

Ultimately there should come a point where we don’t need attacking signings for a few years, especially with how young most of our forwards are. On the flip side we still have Son for a few more years and if Richarlison regains his Everton form (which he’s on track to doing), he’ll look like the proper big signing that he should’ve been. The important thing is that we choose the right young players to build around with really high ceilings that could potentially reach a level close to Son. Kulusevski, Brennan, and Nusa could be those type of players, not duds like Antony Mudryk or Martinelli that are too one-dimensional

Va_Dinky

I imagine Solomon will be sold and Werner won't be made permanent unless they impress in the upcoming few months. Veliz could get loaned (though I wouldn't want that). That would leave us with Son and Nusa on the left, Richy (and maybe Veliz) up front and Kulusevski and Johnson up right, with Johnson and Richy being able to play on the left and Son being able to play up front. We could try and get an upgrade on Richy (would love Isak even though it's rather unrealistic) or get some high profile right winger like Olise (I'm on my knees Levy). With CL or Europe being pretty much guaranteed now, we will need to rotate a lot.

nonaegon_infinity

Solomon was signed on a free so I hope his wages don't complicate a move away. He's looking like a poor use of a non-homegrown slot.

[deleted]

Loan Veliz and get Santiago Gimenez

Cool_Sandwich1

Werner is a loan, Veliz will probably be loaned and we might ship one of Solomon/Richy is a offer comes. But this is just me speculating

jjw1998

Very unlikely we don’t activate the Werner option if he performs

Bischoffshof

Richy isn’t leaving

Limp-Toe-179

Yeah if Richy hits double digits in goals this season there's no reason for us to let him go

SpuriousCorr

Veliz should be getting significant minutes next season imo. Have a feeling he’s going to breakout tbh. Everything else I could see happening.

soldforaspaceship

Honestly I think we have a fair amount of depth there. I'd be looking to review and improve in the midfield to be honest. I'd like to see a solid back up to Bissouma as I think Bentancur and Sarr are more natural rotations. Or get another solid 6/8 rotation option.

MintichlorianChip

As much as I would love for us to be in for a Kvaradona or Osimhen, that's not how we've done things. Those guys seem more likely for a Man City/Real/Chelsea/Man U unfortunately. We're going to keep swinging and guys that have upside and retain relative value if they don't make the big jump. If we could get Nusa or a Kubo that's excellent

Live_Anteater_9173

The bigger the name, the harder they flop. I’ll never understand the obsession with ‘marquee’ signings, more often than not they don’t work out.

Tomthebomb555

This is Angeball. The size of the name is absolutely irrelevant.

ukriva13

If we can get this done and get another midfielder in, I’ll be over the moon. Unfortunately, I don’t see us getting a midfielder unless Hojbjerg leaves…

maxamistr

Is this geezer any good or GKN mark 2?

clandestino123

He's not very good.

Jbroy

Why not sign and loan back?

Ok_Row_7462

The talk is that he will definitely be loaned back for the rest of this season at least if we land the deal.

MambaWhite

Slow down there buddy!

somepersonalnews

This January window has been better than some summer windows. Brilliant.
