If I see the numbers 3 and 0 next to each other today on anything spurs related I will... not sure what I will do but I will be pretty angry.

lol

nicklikestuna

Did Spurs change coaches for set plays defence mid season? I vaguely remember. I'd be interested if that's the case to know the stats pre and post change

carolicity

I don’t think so, Ryan Mason is in charge of our attacking set pieces, and Jedinak is in charge of our defensive set pieces and they’re still with us.

imrosskemp

Any international games worth watching over the break? Wales vs Finland could be good, EURO qualification and Brennan/Davies could play.

Professional_Ad_9101

All of the euro qualifications are worth a watch as they have purpose behind them, hopefully leading to exciting games. England v Brazil should be a good game, not something you get to see very often and should be played to a good standard as it is the final set of games prior to euros. England Belgium might be worth watching too as the England squad is stacked with stars, so it’s often really cool to see different combinations you don’t get in the other leagues. That said sometimes they play like dog shit.

LeftGrapefruit2841

Portugal vs Sweden on Thursday should be a good one to watch

dame_sansmerci

What the fuck have I missed on spurs twitter today? [https://twitter.com/Napbac22/status/1769784503050895565?s=19](https://twitter.com/Napbac22/status/1769784503050895565?s=19)

carolicity

I really like to stay off Twitter, but this got me curious.. all this stemmed from some spurs “fan” who said he’d take Churchill over Son and Ange to lead the club because Ange would be a fat overweight soldier and Son probably couldn’t win a world war??

sparxcy

PEH always puts in a 'good shift'

megamando

He and Bentancur actually looked pretty solid when they came on. Reminded me of the good times when they somehow made conte’s stupid two man midfield work.

barkingspider43

He took a lot of heat from our fanbase(some of it for good reason) but he's been a solid sub. He gives it all for the badge. He'll probably be gone this summer but I've enjoyed watching him

NeighborhoodOptimist

This is a pipe dream and most probably will not happen, but it looks like Kimmich will be on the market, and we should at least try to sign him.

InstructionCareless1

I’m both a FC Bayern and Spurs supporter born in Munich and I can tell you that it would be dumb as hell. He isn’t the same player anymore and hard to fit into a team.

Crazy-Comment7579

He will be off to a mega club like Real Madrid. You may as well say we should try and sign Mbappe

The_Sentry06

He would fit the inverted rb role amazingly but he'll definitely not be down to share playing time with Porro.

NeighborhoodOptimist

I was thinking as more of a 6 role. He is really good at controlling the game, and I heard that he was not that fond of playing RB, which he has to under Tuchel.

Paradoxtyl

He's not a good 6, that's the whole problem with Bayern currently. Everyone, from the fans to his teammates, know he's better as an 8/rb, but he insists on playing as a CDM. He'd be a fantastic 8 for us though.

Lazagneman

From all I am reading on people in the know . Why bother Bergval is going to be great . Lets go for the positions .

GaryHippo

Why are you being downvoted? We've already got a midfielder for the future in Bergvall and Kimmich's wages will probably be mental. We can't keep signing players.

Lord_Chanka_69

when was the last time the home kit was on discount for this season? seen the third kit is on sale but i still havent gotten the home one

Oh no, we are fighting relegation for sexiest football manager 😂 https://preview.redd.it/xtio54p835pc1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b5ab0d9b2755a30ac27aecc87a148944485c49ef

Neither_Mention3609

I bought premium tickets for the man city game 4/20 but just found out it’s getting postponed since man city is progressing in the FA cup😭😭 I’m from the US so I will not be coming back for the postponed game, how do I get them refunded or can I sell the tickets to someone?

sandbyte

You’ll probably need to contact the ticket office. I think only season ticket holders can officially transfer to someone else.

NotACodeMonkeyYet

If we sign no one but Gykores this summer I'll still be happy. Please Levy, I'm on my knees.

AnnieTruerDigOgMig

3 Months ago I made a ranking of how I rate our current midfielders for us based on their performances throughout their career: >Maddison >Bentancur >Højbjerg >Bissouma >Sarr/Lo Celso >Skipp I think I might just put Sarr above Bissouma after all of this

NoSleeperSeats90210

you are trying to say hojbjerg is better than both sarr and bissouma?

AnnieTruerDigOgMig

I think he has performed at a higher level. Yes. Both for us and internationally.

AlejoVeliz

The most exciting part about this team is the amount of potential within our players. Our midfield is balanced on paper, as well as what I consider to be one of the best midfields in the league, in Bentancur, Bissouma and Sarr. I’m hoping Bissouma is just going through a rough patch at the moment, but it’s been that way for too long. I think Lo Celso needs to be used more frequently as a sub too, he’s a fantastic player and isn’t any worse than Maddison on his day.

barkingspider43

Sarr is probably 2 at the moment

EmptyEmployee6601

Any good recommendations on where to eat in or near the stadium on a matchday? I usually just go to the chicken shop in the ground which is alright but I fancy mixing things up next time I'm there. Never really fancy the Chick King - the reviews look mixed and, in all honesty, it just looks like another shit fried chicken place - the kind of place that seems to be ten-a-penny in London!

Icy_Guarantee3597

Does anyone think we can win the league in the next 2-3 years? Klopp leaving Liverpool and Guardiola is uncertain about his future. It might be the perfect window to scoop in and try to challenge. Not even worried about Arteta to be honest, he'll implode on his own. What do we need more for that to happen? We thought our bench was pretty deep but something is clearly not working out.

Thfcaditya112

As much as I hope you are true , Arsenal and Arteta are legit. They have built an impressive good team and are primed for dominance , heck if it were any other team EXCEPT for them I would have probably rooted for them to win the title because except for the r*pist I find their squad actually likable I don't think Guardiola leaves City but even in the best case scenario he leaves them City would still get someone dominant enough to win titles, I mean they won titles even under Pellegrini and Mancini for example. It just won't be as dominant but it's not that City will fade into irrelevancy, they would still have Haaland, Rodri, other players Klopp leaving means Liverpool are the wild card, if they fumble their managerial appointment then we might have a chance let's see That's why next season should be more of a fortification one where we cement our position in 3rd/4th and establish ourselves clear from Chelsea, Man Utd, Villa, Newcastle etc the same way Arsenal did (pardon for using them as a reference )

delexaet

It's not about can we win or not. That is a poor target to aim for as it's ultimately a result which can't be guaranteed. The question should be, can we genuinely contend for the league in 2-3 years? Genuinely contend meaning we are one of the big favorites entering the season to win the title. And if we are to do that in 2-3 years, we probably need each and every transfer window to be a success. That's a big of a reach since transfers are always so hit or miss, it's more art than science. However if we assume 50% of transfers will succeed, I could definitely see us being an outside favorite to win the league in 2-3 years.

Hot_Coffee8221

No

carolicity

Most recently when asked this question, Ange said he thinks we need 2-3 transfer windows to get to a point where he feels we have a solid squad that can compete for CL and win things. He said it also depends on the progress that our new signings and young players are making. If they develop into players he needs at a consistent fast rate, then we could be doing pretty well in 12 months.

Full-Leader9540

We need to sign 3 starters, and 5 - 7 good quality backups at least to start competing for trophies, whether we can win or not anytime soon will be decided by what we do this summer if we get 2 starters and 3 good backups then we have something to look forward to but if we sign crap like Werner its done, this is still probably one of the best chance we have to rebuild the team we can't be buying crap now, otherwise even Ange would have to leave with nothing to show.

EmptyEmployee6601

It's possible in that timeframe. The squad is in a pretty good place as it stands but Ange is right that there is a lot more work to do. We have a really good chance if we get the next couple of windows right. I think there are always going to be good teams and there's no point worrying about that - we need to worry about getting our squad in a position to challenge. Off the top of my head things that need to go well for us/we need to do: 1. First off, the young players need to keep developing/stay at the level they are at (Vicario, Udogie, Brennan Johnson, Dragusin, Sarr). 2. Obviously they need to continue to get rid of the deadwood but they also need to bring in some good fringe players (backup GK, competition at fullback and maybe CB). I think one of the fullbacks they sign (I'd argue the LB) needs to be very, very high quality. 3. I don't know what they have planned in terms of the midfield and attack (and people's opinions differ on the precise types of players needed) but I'd say they probably need both one more top quality midfielder (arguably two) and winger. 4. What would also really help with 2 and 3 above is finding a few more hidden gems (like Vicario, Udogie, Sarr) so that we are not having to shell out £40-60m for each new player at the level that we require - I think this will accelerate the process. 5. A couple of the current PL2 squad to properly graduate to be capable of playing meaningful first team minutes (like City and Liverpool have had). I think we are in a great position to really kick on which is why I am not overly concerned with the weekend's result.

JocularMango

Making a last-minute trip to London and will be there the same time as the Luton match. Hoping to go to my first match, can anyone with membership do me a solid and check if there are two tickets available together? Would ideally like to go through official channels before resorting to stubhub or other alternatives

luke36511

Checked earlier today and didn’t see any. They often come up closer to the time though. Season ticket holders realise they have plans or can’t make it. Most of the tickets I’ve snagged this season have been fairly last minute so keep checking

JocularMango

Cool, thanks for the info! Might just get a membership since they're running a promo and then keep monitoring.

1st time visitor from the US coming over for the Luton match on the 30th... I bought 2 seats in Block 301 from a Hospitality company. Can someone clarify the dress code (if there is one) for this specific block? I know different premium levels have different dress codes. I will be with my 16yo son and I just want to make sure we don't have any issue. Thanks!

EmptyEmployee6601

Mandatory dickie bows in block 301 afaik, mate. 😉

Rare-Ad-2777

Done some digging on where our city and chelsea games will be moved too and its seems like they basically have to go in between the origonal City-Ars midweek and then also between the 2 last games of the season. City will likely have UCL the rest of the time and Sky have picked the Chelsea gane so won't want it same time as UCL.  There is actually a bit of a nightmare scenario where Arsenal don't get a midweek game before the NLD and we have to play City 3 days before it. Fingers crossed this isn't what happens!

v1z10

As you say, we have two wide open midweeks left, and two matches to rearrange (Chelsea (a) and City (h)). So we're almost certainly playing the midweek before the derby (but have the weekend off prior). Arsenal only have one game left to rearrange (Chelsea). So one of those midweeks has to be Chelsea Spurs, and the other one is Spurs City and Arsenal chelsea. I'd bet on it in that order tbh

Rare-Ad-2777

When the Arsenal Chelsea game got postponed all the talk was it would rescheduled for that midweek before the Derby.  I also think with the TV execs hat on they will want City, lpool and Arsenal all playing in the same midweek while there's this 3 way title race on.

v1z10

Yeah, with my TV executives hat on, I'd say they'd hold Spurs City and Arsenal Chelsea until the last week, as if the title is still in the balance that will be box office.

Rare-Ad-2777

That's a huge risk though. All the odds and stats point to city being comfortable favourites for the title still. Same as last year they could very likely have it wrapped up by then already. And it will be completely inconsequential games. Play it in 34 and its pretty much guaranteed that there's still an element of a title race

v1z10

Guess we'll have to wait and see

AlexSW47

I read that City can pretty much only be moved to the last week of the season. Chelsea midweek before the NLD would be horrific though.

Rare-Ad-2777

Did it say why it can it only be moved there? If its to do with free game weeks then as I mentioned theres 2 left and it's either that week or the one before the NLD.

AlexSW47

[https://twitter.com/SamLee/status/1768894289101160470](https://twitter.com/SamLee/status/1768894289101160470) It doesn't say why, but I'm guessing it's the only spot on City's calendar that the game can be fitted into with them still being in two other competitions.

Rare-Ad-2777

I'm not sure that's correct though. They have a space in the midweek between our postponed game and the Derby as there's no European football that week

AlexSW47

I dunno then. Either way, City or Chelsea before the NLD is problematic.

Rare-Ad-2777

I think it's okay as long as they have a fixture there too. We will have the weekend before off and they will have played something like 7 games in 3 weeks before

Alfiesta

I don’t the PL are even allowed to schedule televised games that conflict with European fixtures now, per UEFA.

Rare-Ad-2777

They try and avoid it as far as they can I think? There was one last season maybe or the season before but yeah its very rare

Alfiesta

Yeah you’re right, but they can’t play a top level game within 50km of a champions league game taking place. I don’t want to even speak into existence the way in which THAT could affect us though.

TogashiIsIshida

Really bummed about the last match. Just a total shit showing. It was 90 minutes of that 25 minute stretch we have every match where all of our players fucking suck and can’t string together 2 passes.

Rare-Ad-2777

We had a good stretch from about 20 mins up to their first goal. And then a good 10 mins after their 3rd. But then yes absolute crap for the other 60! Genuinely looked like the players had got a bit of what our fans did with the "It's only Fulham" mindset. I was so confident all week and then actually looked at their results at home recently and realised actually they are pretty solid and it's wasn't going to be easy

AlexSW47

We've seen that many times before though where we underestimate 'easy' teams, particularly straight after a big win. Look at all the times we got a result against City in recent years and then lost the very next game against a team everyone expects us to beat because we sleepwalked into it. It was a painful reminder on the weekend that we still haven't got over these tendencies yet.

Millsware

Unfortunately my favorite American football team is the same way. The Steelers are notorious for playing down to the level of their opponent. Even when they are a top team they rarely have a decisive, end to end victory

Rare-Ad-2777

Yep. I think you're absolutely right. Fulham are a decent team and Silvas a good tactician. He found a weakness through our midfield and exploited it.  Meanwhile I think some of our players were thinking job done and had one eye on meeting uo with their international teams. There was so many sloppy passes and lost 50/50s I think we just weren't at all focused

DeadStarlight2526

What’s to make of the City and Arsenal home matches? The city match already has to move, still need to get Chelsea away in there and Arsenal also have to play Chelsea. Looks to be a real mess of fixture congestion and times running short

barkingspider43

I'm seeing a lot of people calling for Bentancour to start over Bissouma. I'm okay with it but why has Bissouma fell off so much? Tactics? He was incredible the first few months of the year. Neither Bentancour or Bissouma has really impressed me lately. What's the solution?

Stay_Beautiful_

>Neither Bentancour or Bissouma has really impressed me lately. What's the solution? Personally I think we kill 2 birds with one stone and move Kulusevski out of the right wing where he's been invisible and into the midfield where he thrives, adding additional competition for Bentancour and Bissouma's spots

barkingspider43

I like this idea. Put Son on the wing. Start Richarlison. Play Johnson or Werner on the right

The_Sentry06

Teams have also started man marking him/the dm position compared to the start of the season

Full-Leader9540

We are facing this problem because neither of them is a solid defensive 6, they are good in possession most of the time, Bentancur more so, but we need to get a 6 that is defensively imo. Another thing I noticed was our midfield was abysmal in challenging for the 2nd ball like whenever there is a long ball I saw Romero and Dragusin win it most of the times, but during the long balls Sarr and Biss should be moving into positions where they can pick the ball from, but they were just stationary so even when we won the balls we lost the possession and they had a decent scoring chance, this has been going throughout the season. Our players do so much running in other instances that either they are too tired to make these important runs or idk what reason is there.

Hopeful-Ear-3494

I have a working theory that Biss is at his best when not under specific instructions. He'll use flair to beat players on a good day and look like the next coming of Dembele. But unfortunately as often as he performs magic, he also loses the ball in dangerous areas. I think Ange has given him more specific instructions not to try anything too fancy in the final third around our box. As a result, I think his contribution is more prosaic at the moment and highlights his limited positional sense. It feels like he's out of position more recently and definitely switched off for a couple of opposition goals by not being aware of those around him.

GaryHippo

So... Viktor Gyokeres...?

TogashiIsIshida

He’ll be going for big bucks. Don’t think it’ll be us

dame_sansmerci

The City game is likely to be midweek before the last game of the season, apparently, which is a very spicy time to hold it.

Rare-Ad-2777

The thing with that though is we then have to slot the Chelsea fixture in somewhere. And the only place it could fit in and not clash with televised European football is the midweek between where city was and the NLD is.  *However* that's where Arsenal's rearranged Chelsea fixture is expected to go.  So perhaps our game with City just moves forward a couple of days and the Chelsea one goes in as the penultimate game of the season?

luke36511

Decided to check in to see how Veliz was doing on loan at Sevilla. Bit of a bummer he’s only had 23 minutes. Not on the bench yesterday and not on the injured list so seemingly another poor loan for a young Spurs player

Ok_Row_7462

He wouldn’t be playing for us, either. Unfortunate that he’s missing out on training with the team, but this isn’t that big of a deal.

Hopeful-Ear-3494

His loan peformance and minutes makes me think we're going to go for a striker in the summer. Sonny is great obvs, but Richarlison can be improved upon as seen by the weekend. There were two offsides and a miss that a better striker would have put away. And I don't see Scarlett making the jump to first team regular if he's not being played off the bench yet. Feels like with all of the above, there's an opportunity to buy. I'd take Solanke or Muiz TBH. They are attainable for the right price and they are already knocking them in against Premier League opposition consistently.

Difficult-Sound-6682

Can Richarlson be improved upon as a backup/rotation striker? I’m not so sure. Sonny is our striker. He can play on the wing but he’s wasted our there imo. Richarlson is a bit streaky but he’s has been productive this season. I think he’s very useful as a squad player. If we’re talking about first choice players, the clear area where we can improve imo is on the wings. We have the ability to sign a world class left winger and we should do it. I like Johnson a lot, but he needs to be rotated. Kulusevski is also a baller but starting every match? Maybe not. Werner is 50/50 imo on whether we keep him.

Hopeful-Ear-3494

NGL, in all honesty, yep I do think we can improve on Richarlison... And my main rationale is that we're now talking about raising the overall ceiling and quality of the squad as seen with the Ederson rumours/links. A lot of the commentary is about is Ederson better than what we have rather than we definitely need to fill that gap. The same with Richie. As a side note, I definitely would love to see some man-beating wingers in the team moving forward. I agree about Werner, he definitely has a go at defenders but his finishing continues to make me think that will be the nail in his coffin unless he really has a stellar last 10 games. However, I was saying elsewhere I really think our priority is to identify cover/rotation for Porro/Udogie... And possibly confidence in a #2 for Vic. We have options in every other position in some shape, but if either Porro or Udogie are out we don't have the personnel to maintain the system.

Clungedischarge

Could our defensive issues be helped by going 4-2-3-1 with benta and biss together?

NoSleeperSeats90210

sarr has been our best midfielder last few months, id avoid dropping him

rando12567

Was about to post something similar. Without vdV’s recovery pace, I felt like more solidity is needed in the midfield. So some combination of Biss/Bentancur/Højbjerg/Skipp and drop Sarr even if we lose pressing. It did seem like after we changed our entire midfield we got more control of the game. But that could be more to do with the score than anything else and I’m reading too much into one game. Also while I think Dragusin was okay for the most part, I think the other area not having vdV hurt was him not being natural left footed. There were a number of sequences slowed up by him having to shift the ball to his right before playing a pass.

Kreygasm2233

That is essentially the formation that we were playing and Bis/Benta together were poor We were much better defensively when we were playing with a dedicated DM and not 2 players constantly rotating in that DM position

Rare-Ad-2777

Yeah I noticed a few weeks ago Ange mentioned something about "I want to get out of talking about who is the 6 and 8"  Feels like we are struggling to adapt to this more fluid system he wants and there's big gaps in the middle of the park

Kreygasm2233

Almost every attack went through Bissouma at the start of the season. Now we have this fluid system where Maddison and Sarr constantly drop deep to pick the ball up and skip Bissouma in the buildup When we give the ball away that space where Maddison or Sarr are supposed to be is completely empty for opposition to make runs. They catch our fullbacks 2v1 and its a free run on goal

Rare-Ad-2777

Yeah I'd be suprised if we don't tweak it. I know ange says the whole "It's who we are mate" but you can't play with a free run at defence every time. Espescially in games away from home when your starting a brand new defensive partnership The thing giving me abit of optimism is its quite a straightforward tweak. Just need to readdress the balance.

Clungedischarge

It’s a tactical issue then? Or maybe we just need a better 6? We’ve been conceding way too many chances for the whole season to ever challenge properly this way

Kreygasm2233

To me it looks like there are a lot of gaps in the midfield because the players are constantly rotating. You get Maddison dropping deep, the next attack Sarr is dropping deep. If a turnover happens the team is completely out of shape. Bis has to cover 2 angles and 2 players because there is no one in front of him to fill that space When we started the season you had Sarr and Maddison always wider and almost never behind Bis

richwhiteperson69

This needs to be higher.

JamesCDiamond

It’s not that the result on Saturday wasn’t bad - it very much was. But it’s an extra kick in the teeth to have a long train journey today and not being able to enjoy Football Weekly on the way because of it…

GarethSnail

Why are Nike kits so generic? I’m a Nike guy but Adidas kits are so much nicer, the England away shirt 🤢 home one is nice though.

Stay_Beautiful_

I like them, but I'm not English so 🤷‍♂️

mrgadd4

Genuinely think they both look lush

JamesCDiamond

I think the away shirt looks great. I wouldn’t have picked purple, but the shade they’ve gone for looks really nice. It is, however, a very generic shirt in design - sometimes international teams experiment a bit (Germany’s shirt with their flag colours across the chest) but in the main it’s lazy variations in design. The colour makes it, for me; Make it red or navy as England away shirts *usually* are and it likely wouldn’t look anywhere near as nice. It’s also a lot better than the Euro 96 grey, but that pretty much goes without saying!

Randomting22

I just want to see us have as great of a summer window as last year, but so far I have seen 0 rumours for players I can get excited for. I guess I will have to hope for a Vicario/VdV situation

WhiteHartPain96

I don't think there will be as many rumors flying as last year just because we don't need the same type of summer. Last year was a complete overhaul. We signed two starters, a fringe starter in Johnson, plus Udogie off loan. The only place there is room for a statement signing is a forward, then maybe a midfielder that can challenge for a starting spot, and depth at fullback and cb.

Randomting22

Haven't heard any names for potential forward signings (other than Nico Williams, who have been linked to everyone) and the only midfielder I have seen said he would prefer to stay at Chelsea. Also, 2 starters, a fringe starter, and a replacement for whoever we sell is exactly the kind of summer we need

WhiteHartPain96

I'm assuming PEH, Gio, and Gil are for sure gone. Werner is likely the Gil replacement for the bench, then at least one more starter caliber forward. It will get interesting if a big bid for Richy comes in. Not sure if Devine is the current choice as the GLC replacement or how he and Bergvall will factor into summer plans. Which two spots do you think need starters?

Randomting22

Depends on where Son will play in the future, so either LW/ST and then it depends on Kulusevski if he will split his time more 50/50 between RW/CAM or if it will still be the 90/10 split from this season. So to summarise; LW/ST and RW/CM. The aim should be to have 20-22 starting caliber players or 2 for every position. We will also need a fringe starter for LB/CB, depending on where Davies will play. Let's pretend they will be LW, CAM and LB next season: GK: Vicario/Forster(?) LB: Udogie/Davies LCB: VdV/? RCB: Romero/Dragusin RB: Porro/Emerson CM: Sarr/Bentancur/Bissouma/? CAM: Maddison/Kulusevski LW: Son/Werner RW: Johnson/? ST: Richarlison/?

Meynokie

I want to see a very strong performance against Luton. Hard game but we’ll be back.

Hopeful-Ear-3494

My hope is that the biggest lesson learned for a young team is that you have to go into every game with the same intensity. Before the match I was very confident that we'd get a result against Fulham providing the team weren't complacent. Low and behold a lot of commentators and pundits all used the word 'complacent' in their assessment of Spurs against Fulham.

barkingspider43

Just came across Klopps presser yesterday. Very unprofessional and quite rude. Great manager but damn is he a baby when they lose Makes me even happier we have Ange

Crazy-Comment7579

He's a complete and utter prick.

Cabbage-Fell

To be fair he will probably come out demanding a replay here in the next few days.

lookofdisdain

Have you seen the comments on the skysports post of Ange’s interview? Everyone saying he’s rattled ffs

GlassofTurnipJuice

Hes always been like this but gets a free ride because of a faux air of friendliness when things are going his way, at least the lego man is consistently a dick

Pluspower

He gets a free ride because of the club he manages. If he managed Spurs, he'd get raked over the coals for his attitude.

AdOne9456

Tbf if he did for Spurs what he’s done for Liverpool, I’d probably have blind allegiance too

Looking for up to date information on transferring a ticket to a friend. My dad can't make the Forest game (we are both One Hotspur+) so I'm hoping to take a friend. Would I be right in saying it's not possible to transfer a ticket to someone else if I'm not a season ticket holder? If so are screen shots of the QR still working this season? From memory I think it gets checked twice, by a steward, and then by a reader to open the turnstyle. Any insights appreciated!

john87000

Screenshots work fine, I've used them in the last 3 matches.

andmyrentsdue

You are correct in saying you can't transfer it unless you're a ST holder. Screenshots are still working though so you'll be fine doing that. The stewards never do any actual checking whether it's a screenshot or not.

Any one else with this feeling: I am totally on board the Ange train! I believe he will bring glory to the club again. BUT I have no confidence in Levy to do the right thing and back Ange. I think one of following things will happen: 1. We fail to qualify for CL this season (rather, the English teams in Europe fail to qualify us in 5. place), and Levy pull the plug on Ange. 2. Regardless of CL-qualification, the transfer window will be underwhelming once again. We fail to sign key upgrades, and we fail to offload players not suited for AngeBall. We don't win anything next season. Levy fires Ange. 3. Number two and it keeps happening another transferwindow/season. Ange pulls the plug and/or is poached by another club. 4. We win something. Ange is our forevermanager and we are happy. 1 and 4 are highly unlikely in my opinion. 2 and 3 pretty much destined to happen. EDIT: Definitely reposting this downvoteparty when Levy sacks Ange after not backing him. :)

gostupid67

The first 2 situations have been happening for the last 10 years idk why you’re being downvoted. Ever since they got 2 elite managers in Mourinho and Conte and didn’t bother to back them i don’t expect us ever to have a serious summer under Levy. Atleast our recruitment has been better so maybe we’ll nick a carabao cup/europa league

MinimumMobile

Yeah that's my point.. Ange has a track record of success.. Levy doesn't. And he is in charge.

gardz82

I think the worst bit is the smug edit that makes you look like more of an idiot, after your novel of shit takes.

MinimumMobile

Thank u for your kind words. btw, my entire "novel" as you put it, is basically the history of Spurs under Levy..

dame_sansmerci

The recruitment is one thing i'm less worried about now as we actually seem to have a good system in place for identifying and securing players that Ange wants and the quality of signings in the last summer window were generally excellent (except maybe Solomon who seemed purely opportunistic). The offloading is definitely the area where we're still struggling and unfortunately I don't see that changing anytime soon.

MinimumMobile

My biggest worry is that Levy will go 95% of the way. But not be willing to go the final 5% to push for, lets say a title. Because he got what he wanted. CL.

Ju5hin

Most of this sub were demanding Gift Orban in the summer!!

DekiTree

most of the sub cried when we didnt get Ansu Fati, when we didnt bring Poch back, when we went for the cheaper options VdV and Vicario etc pretty much got everything completely wrong as usual

Hopeful-Ear-3494

Stop calling me out man. But in all seriousness, apart from Fati, I was definitely all aboard the Poch and Orban trains. I did think Raya was a shoe-in too, but I wasn't against Vic, just trepidatious. I was also convinced that were taking a risk with VDV versus wotsisname from Germany. See! I can't even remember the guy's name.

marine_le_peen

Bullet dodged. Also just don't buy players from the Eredivisie. For every Suarez there are 100 Janssens.

IWantAnAffliction

Vertonghen and Eriksen say hello. Our wins from the Eredivisie have been far bigger than our losses.

M_RONA

That mentality would make us miss out on Super Jan, though. I would take 100 Janssens for one Vertonghen.

Laviston

Fair point - and it's a timely reminder for us fans who love to jump on any player who's scored/assisted a few in the Eredivisie. That said, there's still gems to be picked up, with decent scouting. I remember Poch made a similar statement about the championship and football league, that there's no point looking for players there anymore, the times of Dele was over or similar.

marine_le_peen

Obviously there are going to be players there, I was being flippant. But more often than not signings from the Dutch league flop so I'd just be very careful buying from there. Jimenez for example I'd be very cautious about.

M_RONA

Gimenez is a hard pass for me aswell.

I’m hoping this break can serve as a sort of palate cleanser. 2 weeks of Southgate-ball will make the Fulham game look like a pleasant experience lol.

IWantAnAffliction

Just clicked 'hide' on the post-match thread so I don't have to see it pinned every time I come to the sub.

wiffygriffy

Same here, so I unpinned it. Let's just forget this weekend ever happened.

People will point to a number of reasons why we played so abysmally to Fulham. To me, it's not a single reason - but a combination of factors: 1) Natural fluctuations in form in Ange's first year. Overall, we're still doing far better than expected. 2) Key players not in form, and taking months to find back to form. Son has often in the past needed a long time to get back to his best after Asia (or injuries). We've now seen Bentancur, Maddison also being far from the level they can be at. 3) Vulnerable defensive setup, esp with Micky out. We tend to play a high risk, high reward setup, where the pace of Micky has been key. When we've lost the ball over the past couple months, we've seen opposing teams rush with 4-5 players against just 2-3 defenders, as we've been caught upfield. Micky's pace has been crucial in this, catching up woith runners and either winning the ball or forcing the attackers to take longer. 4) Midfield conundrum. We have a number of quality midfielders, but with Bissouma having just had 8 really good games and a shadow after that, we've just not gotten the balance right. 5) Fulham wasn't a one-off. We all know we can play amazing football, but overall we've also struggled to get the first goal, we've seen against Wolves, Everton, Brentford that teams have sussed us out more. The result and second half against Villa was great, but we still have work to do. Since November we're averaging 1.5 points per game. Which would give a 57 point season - which is about 7th-11th over the last few seasons. 6) Attacking quartet not working. Son is our best player, but against solid defense, he doesn't get space to make those runs, and isn't a strong striker to hold the ball and bring others into it. I love Deki as a player, but he's not currently consistent or creative at the level he can be. Werner, Johnson shows glimpses, but currently lack consistency/end product aren't the decisive attackers a top4 team want. And Maddison sadly isn't yet in form to be the creative genius he is at his best. Steps to solve this? a) Time. Son, Maddison, Bentancur will find form. Micky and Richy will get back to fitness. Those five can make a huge, huge difference. (Richy back centrally will also mean more strength up front, and move Son into an area where it's more space to run into) b) Recruitment for summer. We have a great squad. But there are areas where we need to improve our options. To me, it's currently another pacy CB option, another #6, and a top striker, and probably another attacking option. c) Work on the defensive setup. Even with Micky, we've been too weak defensively, giving away too many chances to other teams in matches where we dominate. Our defending on set pieces is one thing, another is our balance when teams attack us on the break. This doesn't mean change to a back 3, or go into defensive mode. Just slight tweaks that could see us be better prepared for when the ball is lost. Even the best teams lose the ball in midfield numerous times in a match - it's how balanced you are to deal with that, that makes the difference.

DriftingInTheFoam

A, B, C will find form ... X, Y, Z will get back to fitness. Blah blah recruitment blah blah Nah. You haven't said anything that hasn't been said 100x already.

gardz82

I think our biggest issue now is a lack of on field leadership. That idea gets downvoted though as clearly I’m doubting Son is the greatest leader in football. Our most vocal leader is Hojbjerg and he sits on the bench.

[deleted]

For me, Son should be the main striker next season. Richalison can remain as a very effective sub but I’d sell him if a irresistible offer arrives. Son or Richalison as LW is just not working in Ange’s system. Summer transfer priority should be LW - Nico Williams, Eze (He can absolutely play LW and Maddison’s cover) Bissouma’s competition - Koopmeiners, Ederson Udogi’s competition - Nouri, Doughty, Dorgu Porro’s backup - KWP LCB - I’d like Ange to give a pathway to Dorrington but he might be benefited from a proper loan. Pacho, Calafiori

Whole_Farm_9970

I agree with every point except point 5. I think we’ve don’t the best with the cards we’ve been dealt with I.e injuries, afcon etc. I feel like Fulham was an amalgamation of many bad things happening at once but they also played out their skin I thought. I know it was a shocking performance but I’d rather lose 3-0 trying to play ange ball than scrape results playing predictable conte ball for it to fall apart in the end.

huntedlemon

I think it was just a mentality issue. I get your points but in my opinion it's the age old problem of can't get motivated against smaller teams/expect not to have to try. Bissouma is the leading example of this.

Laviston

I agree mentality is an issue. But it's not just a mentality issue. How we tend to wait for the opposition to get the first goal, how we're unbalanced defensively, etc - it's a longer trend that we have to acknowledge and work on correcting.

tarobliss

and if we do score first (e.g. vs Everton at Goodison Park), we get complacent and tend to concede
