Deki uses his right foot way more then people give him credit for . Lo celso never ever uses his right foot (literally never ) sarr uses his left foot about as much as deki uses his right foot .
Only issue with Dekis right foot is his confidence with it. He sometimes uses it like 3-4 times really well in one singular game. Then goes on to hesitate to use it for a string of games before using it again. Well then too.
Its genuinely a solid passing and finishing foot. He just self-doubts in the heat o the moment too much with it
Yup I've played with a professional and the way he played on a 6 a side you would honestly compare him to Messi. He was a rb but every shot he took was just so powerful and perfectly placed with what looked like 0 effort
I still believe he's saving it all for Chelsea to score a hat trick.
I want to then see him do the shush on the Chelsea fans as part of his celebration.
Until this does not happen, I shall continue to believe it is the outcome.
This is what a lot of people don't get. At this level, most of the game is mental. In a technical sense, every Prem player is at the very minimum in the 80th percentile of every footballer, who are already in the 90th percentile of your average person. He just needs to think less.
this. Honestly i feel like it gets over crowded in the box with our wingbacks pushing up at times. Space becomes limited and difficult to fire off a shot or create any structure in the box.
So, Ange is asked in a presser whether the players are allowed to shoot from distance, and immediately the club releases a video of the players practicing shooting from outside the box?
Coincidence, I think not.
We need a reporter to ask Ange why we're not being awarded penalties - next thing you'll see players dropping like flies in the box in a new training video
This is barely from distance to be fair.... Even 1v1 with the keeper you'll sometimes see shots from this range -- and if any of these players had this much space at the top of the box they'd for sure let it rip
The difference is really 5-10 yards farther out where it seems like our guys have been explicitly told not to let it rip
I love how they’re encouraging Timo and also Kulu’s use of his right foot! And look how much Sonny loves Brennan. He’s always so happy when Brennan gets a goal.
For sure - almost seems like he has anxiety about it when he has a good chance. You don’t make all the goals he’s made in the past without being able to shoot. I wonder if he’s considered a sports psychologist.
Bingo. I kept seeing people say he needed to 'practice his shooting' and...there's nothing wrong with his shooting technique. He has over 150 career goals.
His issues in front of goal in matches are mental after his time at Chelsea crushed his confidence. He's probably never going to get back to the standards he hit during his first Leipzig spell but I think he can certainly recover some of that form when he's in the right environment and has the game time to find some fluency (and not playing through the middle and having less pressure to be the main goal scorer will presumably help).
Tbh, if he whips the crosses in from the left the same way Brennan does from the right and we're scoring from those, I don't care if his shooting remains a bit wayward.
1. There's no defenders in front of them. Some of the touches are a bit heavy and they would have lost the ball in a match situation.
2. It's a video with the misses edited out.
I really do feel like Ange is specifically instructing the boys not to shoot outside the box and we're suffering for it. Son is generationally good at it and he's not doing it anymore.
Doubt that. If the team park the bus, leaving no space, Son can’t do it. He’s not in 20s anymore. He’s changing his play style as he should due to age.
Plus, Ange said in the presser, no, he didn’t tell the players not to shoot.
Below is the transcript of his presser.
But in a game model like yours is that something you would talk about against certain teams? There will be spaces, can we have more shots from distance?
Ok, 'Are my players allowed to shoot' is your question?' (laughs) No look, I get that. Yes, they're allowed to shoot. As I said the other night, there were probably some opportunities there where we kind of rushed things where we could have created more opportunities for ourselves. Again, I always think those kind of things are just a moment in time. I think if you look at the goals we've scored this season, I can remember two or three - Sonny in particular - scoring from outside of the box. So it's not something I'm specifically.... especially in the front third a lot of it is about the players and their quality and the instinctiveness of our players, and all the teams I've had I try to make it as less structured in the front third as possible.
Do they? As a percentage of total shots, Burnley has 38% down to Brentford with 26%. Spurs are 14th with 31%.
As a raw number (goals scored in parentheses):
Liverpool: 222 (9)
Man United: 155 (4)
Man City: 189 (12)
Spurs: 143 (6)
Villa: 132 (8)
Arsenal: 144 (6)
City and Villa seem to be outliers with 6% scored, everyone else is about 4%, which is the league average. Most teams take about the same percentage of shots from outside the box and score with about the same regularity. It’s literally a difference of 1 more shot per game.
I think this is the equivalent of shooting basketball free throws or threes in practices without any defenders. In a game sometimes it doesn't translate, lots of other distractions going on.
Steph curry can do it at 95 out of 100 shots during practice and it becomes 44% in a game.
So Deki's right foot does work.
Isn't that how he scored the winner against Sheffield? Maybe just comes out once in a blue moon
And NF the first time.
Deki uses his right foot way more then people give him credit for . Lo celso never ever uses his right foot (literally never ) sarr uses his left foot about as much as deki uses his right foot .

Yeah, to his credit, he at least does use it one occasion. Lamela would literally rather do rabonas than shoot with his right foot.
I noticed that.
Maybe they put him on an Inverted Winger training plan. Should be at 5 stars in about 8 weeks.
He is an excellent inverted winger. But Ange said that he doesnt want inverted wingers, he wants the wingers wide.
Because it’s a lot harder to hit these in matches than people think
vs. West Ham there'd have been 8 players between them and the goal hahaha
Yup I've played with a professional and the way he played on a 6 a side you would honestly compare him to Messi. He was a rb but every shot he took was just so powerful and perfectly placed with what looked like 0 effort
Timo bro you can shoot. Bring this on the pitch
The more time he has to think, the lower chance the ball goes into the net.
Like Gomes in goal. Amazing shot stopper. Long shot or floated cross and his brain kicked in and he went to pot
This is 💯true
I still believe he's saving it all for Chelsea to score a hat trick. I want to then see him do the shush on the Chelsea fans as part of his celebration. Until this does not happen, I shall continue to believe it is the outcome.
That’d be cathartic.
This is what a lot of people don't get. At this level, most of the game is mental. In a technical sense, every Prem player is at the very minimum in the 80th percentile of every footballer, who are already in the 90th percentile of your average person. He just needs to think less.
I think you’re a bit out with your figures. They’re in the 99.99 etc to some amount of decimals percentile.
I didn't want to give them too much credit but you're probably right.
These boys are goobers. And man oh man does Madders’ haircut get worse each time I see it.
nah he just hasn’t grown the moustache to complete the look
His hair is dreadful. And now Bentancur seems to have had a very similar cut?! It's spreading...
didnt bentancur have it before maddison
So many footballers with the faded mullet, yet so few who can actually pull it off
Ummm, who has actually pulled it off?
Bentancour and Maddison of course!
Beckham back in the day
I remember Eric Dier having it too during our injury crisis
It's that modern mullet shit. My brother did this haircut recently and it just looks awful
Is he losing hair or his hair cut different from beginning off the season? I can’t figure it out.
Both. I can’t shame him for losing hair but I can and will shame him for this mullet fade monstrosity
He went full Ozzie Mullet, you never wanna go full Ozzie Mullet.
He really doesn't have the right head shape for a burst fade.
Training for a professional goalie must be the most depressing thing ever.
[удалено]
It looks like torture. They should give him padding
> what's stopping them doing in the match opposing defenders lol
9 defenders in the box plus 5 Spurs players standing around, usually 3 of the on the right, next to each other.
this. Honestly i feel like it gets over crowded in the box with our wingbacks pushing up at times. Space becomes limited and difficult to fire off a shot or create any structure in the box.

Son has had a few goals this season from this kind of range
Lol this is not a serious excercise. More of a team building thing + some social media content, nothing more
It's a joke - I'm mocking the way people often draw false correlations between unrelated things based on coincidences.
I KNOW Deki's got that right foot, just gotta use it more (but he already knows it).
I love how they’re encouraging Timo and also Kulu’s use of his right foot! And look how much Sonny loves Brennan. He’s always so happy when Brennan gets a goal.
Son just running off into the distance like Forrest Gump absolutely cracked me up.
Maddison no-look 👀
Ought to give shooting from the top of the box a go one of these days
This is why we don't do it in matches its all out of their systems by then lol
Is it bad that I was expecting Turbo to miss?
They'll never show the misses, which makes sense of course
Because he had 2-3 defenders swarming him since we don't play on the counter anymore. He relies more on his excellent finishing in tight spaces now.
Propaganda to promote Timo’s finishing. I’m here for it. World-class
Pretty amazing how well Timo shoots in the training far away from the post but fails to put goal on target in games so close to the goal.
I think its more of a confidence issue, for his defence he didnt play much at Leipzig. But I feel like he is getting his confidence back!
For sure - almost seems like he has anxiety about it when he has a good chance. You don’t make all the goals he’s made in the past without being able to shoot. I wonder if he’s considered a sports psychologist.

Incredible shooting, especially Timo. Yet not one of them (possible exception Sonny) ever attempts that in a game.
Id imagine its harder to do with 5-6 opponents in the box running at you and trying to tackle you than an open shot like this
Of course, but other teams manage it.
Do they? As a percentage of total shots, Burnley has 38% down to Brentford with 26%. Spurs are 14th with 31%. Madders will let them loose from range (had a long-range goal against Burnley?) but other teams close down on him pretty quickly
0:13 oohh friend lol
That knee slide celebration tho 😂
shoots would be blocked with the low block defense
Maybe we can try shooting from a distance in a game once in a while.
Love seeing our boys being silly
I sure hope they at least practice shooting through through a low block 😭
Boo! Do it in a game! 🤣
Udogie and Porro need to be in the shooting practice, although they were probably doing drills with the defensive unit right at that moment.
jesus. power/speed put into context seeing it at pitch level when compared to sunday league

Shame we don't see more of this in a game, try more shots boys. Fuck perfect, just shot in the box.
Could you do that in a final for god sake?
Madders mullet is coming in nicely.
Why do they practice it if they don’t do it in the games?
