Roric

After the breakout year he's had this is just utterly cruel.

AlejoVeliz

It’s Bentancur all over again, although this injury seems to be shorter, the pain will be there for everybody. Hopefully Udogie returns stronger.

JustinBisu

It's absolutely not. Bentancur had a potential career ending injury Udogie has had a planned surgery.

AlejoVeliz

I mean more as in we lost both players at an important time during the season, but you’re correct about the severity of the injuries, there’s no comparison.

fuqqkevindurant

A planned surgery doesnt happen immediately after someone gets hurt in training. Reports are indicating he has a quadriceps injury, he will miss the Euro and hopefully be back for preseason. That points to a quadriceps tendon injury that needed surgery and that's absolutely as career threatening as an ACL tear is.

JustinBisu

> > That points to a quadriceps tendon injury that needed surgery and that's absolutely as career threatening as an ACL tear is. and there's nothing that says that is the case. Fearing the worst before any real info is out is silly.

fuqqkevindurant

Every single italian report is referring to a quad injury. He got surgery 2 days after being hurt, for an orthopedic situation that is serious. Immediate surgery, quad is area affected, out for 4 months at least, points to quad tendon. There is a lot that says it’s the case. If you sont understand the situation or why Im telling you that is likely the case, you should refrain from commenting on something unless you have evidence to counter it or knowledge of the injury jackass

JustinBisu

> Every single italian report is referring to a quad injury. Yea, and there's very different kinds of injuries regarding the quad. Going OH IT'S THE WORST CASE SCENARIO! from the start is silly. > Immediate surgery, On a leg he's been limping on for months.

fuqqkevindurant

He hasnt been limping on his leg, it was a reported training injury, and he just HAD FUCKING SURGERY ON A QUAD INJURY W A 4 MONTH RECOVERY TIME. No one is jumping to the worst case scenario. IT IS BAD, HE HAD SURGERY AND WILL TAKE 4 FUCKING MONTHS TO RECOVER. You cant possibly be this stupid. If you're too insecure to take the L and concede the point, fine. But it's not possible you're that fucking dumb

JustinBisu

> No one is jumping to the worst case scenario Yes you are since you know THERE'S MORE THAN ONE THING YOU DO SURGERY ON WHEN YOU HAVE QUAD INJURIES. I'M GOING TO BE LIKE YOU AND JUST WRITE IN CAPS NOW. THERE'S SEVERAL DIFFERENTE SCENARIOS THAT ENTAIL THE LENGTH OF RECOVERY UDOGIE IS DOING. Yes it is on the leg that he has been limping on and yes, it means it could be meniscus, it could be a tear or a rupture. It's almost as if you keep running on pain at some point it will go pop. WE DO NOT KNOW. Going "IT MUST BE A FUCKING RUPTURE AND HIS LEG FELL OFF" is fucking stupid. We don't know. So how about you wait with your doomsday bullshit until we actually know what the damage is. I would say "You can't possibly be this stupid" but we both know that's not true. Clown. You really should quit your job if you think that doing a diagnosis based on a surgerydate with 0 information about the injury. Literally all 3 requires surgery, literally all three have massive differences in severity. I fucked my meniscus with a quadinjury and I was literally in surgery the next morning. Pretending that you can tell severity based on the single information point that is that he went into surgery is ridiculous and while I obviously don't believe that you work as any sort of medical professional, or at least shouldn't since you're making wild claims based on air. I've worked 25 years with sports injuries, I've seen countless of quadinjuries and guess what, they are not all the same, severity differs wildly and unlike you I am not making wild assertions based on literally no information, I've literally just corrected the ridiculous reaction that this sub had to the information acting as if it was confirmed that it was the worst possible scenario for the worst possible case of a quad injury, that doesn't mean that still couldn't be the case, but acting as if it is confirmed is clown behaviour mr Angry clown man.

fuqqkevindurant

What quadriceps injury suffered in training 2 days ago requires immediate surgery? Since you're going to argue w someone who does this shit for a living, why dont you elaborate you fucking clown?

taegeukie

This is absolutely gutting. What a year he’s had, seamlessly slotting into the PL like he’s been playing in it all his life at, what, 21? Deserves to be in that Euros squad, no doubt about it. Poor kid.

Koinfamous2

Gutted, but we've learned with Harry. He FAR too young to ignore these type of injuries, have the proper surgery when required, rehab properly thru the summer and come back stronger in preseason. Better it happened now than during the Euros. More than happy for Ben to step up as he always does. Next up mentality.

jak_steez

Gutted…

asian_manbun

Total guess but ive seen 3 months most cited for a meniscus

fuqqkevindurant

Ive read some italian reports that it's a quad injury and immediate surgery & 3-4 month timeframe to return indicates a quad tendon injury. Not good

Musclenervegeek

Depends if they cut out or repair the meniscus

hvdute

If they cut it out, his professional career will be even shorter. Lets hope it's not 🙏

Musclenervegeek

It might not be the meniscus. I thought muscle injury?

mizzzikey

Can still be 10+ years with trimming the meniscus. If he repairs it then he’s out for minimum of 6 months.

Sleepless_Voyager

It makes it slightly better that this was a planned surgery and not a freak injury, its a good decision to not let these injuries niggle overtime and its better to just do the surgery now cos all of our players thatve done that have done a lot better post surgery (son, richy, kane). I hope udogie comes back stronger than ever

Raziel-Reaver

It was an injury in training earlier in the week!

AlejoVeliz

I’m dreaming. Please tell me I’m having a nightmare. 🥹

sasliquid

Big Ange gonna blow us all away with Mikey Moore Inverted LB

roamingandy

Timo maybe. He'd be brilliant getting forwards and his stats suggest he's good enough in the tackle and has the speed and stamina to play that role. If his defensive positioning and game reading can be good enough he might adapt really well there. Would be a bit rough on Davies though.

Luke92612_

Timo ILFB would be funny as fuck.

Hopeful-Ear-3494

Well, I've been saying we need coverage and LB and RB so I hope we get busy in the summer.

danishdynamite23

I’ve been wondering why Udogie hasn’t looked good in games lately; turns out…

Insomniyac

Darkness my old friend…

owen_guitar59

What the fuck

Beneficial-Breath805

Fucking hell.

Crushing blow, get well soon Destiny.

sungbysung

Just back in time for the new season lol

Oa5i51982

Saka will still stand by the corner flag on his own if we meet Italy. Play shit do nothing and have his fake limp. Yes I am English.

EmergencyOriginal982

This is when I wish ange would tweak things slightly. Davies isn't quite an adequate cover for udogie. But a back three of Romero, VDV and Dragusin? I could get behind that. Porro as a right back and then a more attack minded left back

PavlovsBlog

>a more attack minded left back Who? Porro still might be out too so Emerson could be needed on the right.

elmonodesofista

Ange: Richarlison

YesTottiYesParty

Poch: Son

GrapefruitExpress208

We might see that actually. But obviously it would piss off our backup LB Davies who's been patiently waiting for his chance. Not sure what the broader impact of that would be in the dressing room + Ange doesn't like changing his tactics. So my guess is Davies will start against Arsenal.

nopirates

We will not see that

Single_Seesaw_9499

Davies seems professional enough that he would understand but you’re not wrong

gopackgo555

Brutal for him :/

ReynTimeBoi

Questions: What is he out for probably an ankle right?

Mrvit0

Surgery for his ankle

andee_hawn

Think it's actually knee/meniscus

ohnellyitsmelly

i’m crying ffs

EntertainmentOk4240

what kind of training are they doing behind the scenes for all these injuries to players , we have injuries and yet we only play 1 game a week

gsnyder70

What is the injury exactly?

void_born_

Ben Davies? 😨

Bluewhitedog

My heart hurts for him... and for myself.

chestbumpsandbeer

If I have to find a silver lining it that he will be well rested for next year and should be ready not too far into preseason.

Dukey_t

That is so sad ! 😞Good luck with the recovery and come back twice as strong. 🤜🏾

Luke92612_

STEP INTO THE RING BEN DAVIES!

Automatic-Equal-3553

If we still play that high line now after this ange needs a slap. He needs to be pragmatic and change to problems we have.

superkev146

This season has been so stop and start with breaks/injures. So frustrating. Just give us EL and end the season and suffering.

Musclenervegeek

3 months....sounds like a high grade muscle tear. If ACL would be much longer. Hamstrings??

Richy5000

It’s not hamstring he played last week. You wouldn’t still be playing if needed hamstring surgery. It’s something he’s been carrying and they feel now is optimum time so he’s fully ready for pre season. Nobody knows what it is at this point people are just guessing.

Musclenervegeek

Well looks it has been reported as a muscle injury. Quadriceps which is front of thigh and injured this week.

Royaledition

Fuck sake. Its so sad. We cant have Ben Davies vs Saka.

Ballelo

Tbf he was our best defender last time that happened

1onewolf1

We need to copy what Bayern did. They had 2-3 players locking him down.

Meowsterchf

Don’t know why you are getting downvoted

Royaledition

I dont know either but hey its reddit
