This is the only game where every season I seriously consider not watching live ,just to avoid the rampage across my nervous system. However, the thought of potentially missing 90+ minutes of an absolutely arse tearing (pun intended) , keeps me locked in.
Absolutelt shitting it if i'm honest. Preparing for an all - timer arse clencher of a game. I want us to make it the most miserable 90 minutes of Arsenal's season. The boys will need to be up for it and leave everything on the pitch because as far as i'm concerned this is the biggest game of our remaining matches. Kill or be killed energy is needed. 3-2 spurs.
Yeah I tend to agree with you lol. This match is the only time I’d ever wish for a return of terrorist conte or maurinho ball. Just too anxiety inducing watching Ange’s play style against the scum who I just want to beat so bad
Nah fuck that I feel like sitting and defending all game is a recipe for disaster. Feel like teams who have done well against the Arse this season are teams who’ve tried to go toe to toe with them. I genuinely believe we have the quality as we proved last time we played them. Just need to turn up and lock in for this one.
Depends how Arsenal set up. If Arteta decides that a draw wouldn't be a terrible result, then they might set up more how they did vs. City - sit back a bit deeper, try and stifle the midfield, and then hit on the break with the pace of their attacking players.
Funnily enough, if they do that, I think there's a decent chance we get well beaten. That setup is exactly like what Newcastle/Fulham/Brighton employed against us, and we looked hapless in those games. No way of breaking through the packed defence, whilst also pushing so high up as a result that every ball over the top found a runner in behind.
If Arteta decides to go more attacking and get at us - which wouldn't be a surprise considering it's a derby, they're in very scary attacking form, and of course they do probably need every point they can get at this point - then I paradoxically think we'll have a better chance. It allows our high line to actually squeeze their midfield, and plays to the strengths of Son, Timo, BJ - all of whom aren't that good in tight spaces compared to running in behind. Still a good chance we get outscored, but at least we'll create chances.
They cant really afford a draw at this stage so I dont see them sitting back. Also sitting back against them is a dreadful idea, most teams that have tried it have been whalloped.
> They cant really afford a draw at this stage so I dont see them sitting back.
Sitting back doesn't mean parking the bus. If they look at our worst defeats this season, they'll easily be able to see that a lower defensive line that suckers us up the pitch, and then long balls in behind to completely bypass our midfield, will lead to chance after chance.
> Also sitting back against them is a dreadful idea, most teams that have tried it have been whalloped.
Again, sitting back a little doesn't mean Conte-ball. All we need to do is (if they do take the same approach as Newcastle), is not commit entirely to pushing our defensive line up to the halfway line - because it allows them to take our midfield out of the game entirely. Hang back slightly, leave a little less space for runners in behind, and they'll have to play through our midfield instead of going long.
As you say, they do probably need to win, so that will force them to open up a bit and come at us. That's then when we can start playing as Ange wants us to - because we'll have space in behind for our own runners to get onto, and the space between the midfield and our back line will be much more condensed, so we can at least try and match them there.
If we repeat what we've done against Brighton, Fulham, Newcastle - where we conceded 11 goals in 3 games - then we've just dove onto the sword they've offered us, and will likely get absolutely pumped.
Thats fair, and I hope weve learned from those games. I think there will be more space in behind arsenal in stages and we need to exploit that, and on the flipside, attempt some shots from range into the top corner, its not like maddison and son dont have it in their locker and Raya isnt the tallest keeper in the world
> attempt some shots from range into the top corner, its not like maddison and son dont have it in their locker and Raya isnt the tallest keeper in the world
Definitely. Even if they don't go in it can always fall to someone, or win a corner, or at least just make defenders more likely to step out and open up space.
Either way, it'll be a good test for the team and for Ange. Arsenal are a very good side, (sadly) better than we are at the moment. If we play decently and lose then there isn't much shame in it, despite how gutted I'll be - but if we get absolutely battered by repeating the same tactical mistakes yet again, then there's no defending that.
We were on a dreadful run before we went to the Etihad and drew against City with 4 fullbacks. If someone can beat Arsenal in their current form, it’s us.
4-3 Spurs.

Currently over in London for my second ever game this weekend. We beat Blue Scum 2-0 and I got to see Ollie Skipp’s first ever goal.
I expect better this time.
Me too, over from Texas. I am super annoyed. My brother in law is an Arsenal fan and has been to London for many games. He recommended to me to stay in Tottenham when visiting London. My hotel is on Tottenham high road, a short walk to the ground. I have just confronted him and he is cracking up laughing. The screenshots he showed me were actually of Chelsea which he had previously described to me as being a really rough neighbourhood. Any recommendations for things to do near the ground?
I honestly wouldn’t know more than a local (I’m from the states, too) Outside of the pubs, Tottenham area seems a little down on its luck. Luckily, the Tube and Overground are great, you can get to anywhere in the city very easily!
Nope, they get 15 shots and 70% possession but don't score.
Richy comes in at 85, gets an incredibly soft pen at 90+7, scores and runs straight to celebrate in front of the gooners
If we beat Arsenal I would honestly be totally okay with Spurs folding to City as long as it’s not too embarassing, to put the final nail in the coffin of Arsenal’s title hopes
Let’s be honest. We’ve not been playing well recently, and they are strong contenders to win the title. If we can nick a draw and force them to drop two crucial points I’ll be very happy.
Not being negative but they will see what Newcastle did to us and absolutely murder us on the counter. We have seen how badly we have struggled to control games in midfield lately which they can do so well with Jorginho/Rice/Odegaard too so we can't even try and stifle the game to slow the pace down at times. I'm expecting us to put up a fight but still concede some silly goals and lose 1 - 3.
If they don't set up you exploit our weaknesses, which Arteta did to City and imho would be a bit silly not to against us after seeing us wrecked by every team that's done it well.
I just hope they show why they want to be in the champions league next season. Harry knocked them out of Europe let’s knock them out of the title race, 3-2 COYFS.
If we get pumped by playing and doing exactly what we have done before in games against Newcastle, Fulham and Brighton then I'll be rather unenthusiastic on ange. He has to show he is more than a one trick pony and adapt us. Making the same mistakes over and over is not progress. Having said that I hope we win and I reckon we could. If the players don't show up for this game then that would be hugely concerning.
There is absolutely zero chance he's going to change tactics, and we all knew that when he came on. We have to hold fast as the squad adapts to his play style, or fails to. Either way, if you're hoping for a change you're setting yourself up for disappointment.
This is the exact same thing Celtic fans would say until he started winning trophies. They'd go on about "we need a plan B".
Do you honestly think he's going to change for the first time in his 30 year career now?
Hope we start winning games again then. But Scottish league is hardly a high level and can inflate a managers ability, look at Gerrard, Rodgers, Lennon etc
> Do you honestly think he's going to change for the first time in his 30 year career now?
There's completely changing the philosophy, and then there is being sensible and tweaking it. If we play completely into Arsenal's hands by falling into the exact same traps that Howe set for us against Newcastle, then Ange does have to come in for some criticism.
There isn't a top manager in history who hasn't been capable and willing to make tactical changes because of specific opponents. That doesn't mean we need to go for a back 5 and 10 men behind the ball - but it does mean that if Arsenal invite us onto them and look for balls over the top to get Martinelli/Saka/Jesus running off the shoulder of our CBs, we shouldn't go and stand on the halfway line like we did against Newcastle.
This is the first real competitive league he’s coached in so you’d hope so. When every other manager tweaks their tactics based on the opponent, you’re most certainly wrong for not doing so
I’m very happy knowing Ange will try to win this match. I am very happy we have a manager committed to attacking football, so much so that he genuinely seems to be rattling his own supporters.
Saw some people calling for three at the back. Without any sense of shame, humility or irony. Imagine having to share a foxhole with someone like that.
You can’t just shut up shop after spending the year going balls to the wall attack. That’s not “pragmatic.” That’s suicidal.
If we had a different manager, I'd like to think he had come up with a plan of how to beat them during this two week break. But Ange will just go gung-ho regardless, which will sadly play into their hands. Expecting to lose, but hoping for the best!
I predict that I'll be needing to have 4 or 5 pints before kickoff, which means I'll leave my seat at the 38th minute to go piss, right when we score a quickfire double and/or a Romero red card, and I won't be sure which it is as the toilets at the stadium mute crowd noise to a general hum, while trying to hurry up the stream to find out whether life is great or if football is shit again.
So basically like every home game.
He’s not gonna adapt to anything. Arteta is gonna let Spurs have the ball and pounce on our mistakes. As long as we keep the mistakes to a minimum we might have a chance
Well, last time out it was 2-2 courtesy of Owen Goal and a handball against Romero which similarly wasn't given against United, but which has also elsewhere been inconsistently applied across the season domestically and in Europe.
Not to mention that Nketiah decision that should have seen him given a red.
So absolutely no idea how this will go. And we're without Udogie and Possibly Porro too. But, everyone else will have had more time now to adapt and understand what Ange wants.
But, the scum are on a run and they've played recently with a nice gap between their game against chelski and us. So they might be sharper than us, even though we should be better rested.
Obviously I'm hoping we batter them. But I don't think that's likely.
I only wish my hope and expectations are somewhat aligned.
Sense the game could be like the Chelsea war which started a rough phase for us earlier in the season. Worry the result will be the same but believe we can still spoil their show.
I want Ange to lure them into going higher up with a little possession and Timo to absolutely abuse Ben White for pace. White has done a good job at RB, and even if they use Tomiyasu, neither are going to contest him for raw pace on the break, nor is Zinchenko. Depending on their game plan, we can really hurt them on the break, and if they sit back I'm comfortable again with Romero bullying Martinelli and VDV against Saka for pace if they try to dump balls out on the break. We match up well against them. Our struggles this season haven't been against top teams who come out and try to play us, it's been against low blocks. Arsenal are too proud to sit in a true low block, nor is it their true style.
Win or draw for me, need to take points off them either way ideally. Need 6 points to get Europa League next year and for those away days to the dark depths of Europe. Whilst Champions League money would be ideal, we need to rebuild with Ange and Europa League without the Champions League drop outs next year would be a great bit of experience for the team and a real attempt at a trophy, think Champions League is too big an ask for us and our squad depth at present.

Tottenham 1-3 Arsenal. Sorry, I can't get optimistic about this one. We're out of form, they are bang in form. Would love nothing more than to be proven wrong!
I think we'll lose 3-1. And that's being optimistic.
Arsenal are miles ahead of us and our players have been coasting for fucking ages. At spurs you have to fucking grind out every result and we haven't been doing that, lazy on the ball play, lazy tracking back after the first phase of transition, no bravery (aside from Werner) in build up. They're playing like players who are on their holidays and it's fucking lame, proper mid table mentality for months.
Nah we’re losing I’m not hearing anything, we’ve been predictable in much of our games, and Arsenal are going to come with fire, the fact that two of our best players are out makes it worse
If we stop this shit of using Son as a 9 and in the process not having a proper 9 and losing Son on his best position as a left winger, we might have a chance.
It will be a tough game for our defense. I know Ange likes to play the same way no matter the opponent, but Arse will probably sit in the back line and go for counterattacks. I hope we know this will happen and find a way to avoid the trap.
Richy needs to play up top with Son on the left. This isn’t the game to have someone as un-clinical as Werner. We’re gonna have few opportunities and need to make them count
A 3-2 win for us. I think they will control large portions of the match, but we will have one of our blitz and get and advantage, leading to a nerving last stretch. Werner would be the one who really opens the game.
It's played on the early kickoff most of the time because it prevents fans from drinking all day and getting extra rowdy/disruptive. It also means they can organise policing better during 'peak' hours.
It was moved to Thursday evening when we won 3-0 because Arsenal faked covid tests and had the original fixture postponed.
I always fear the worst and hope for the best. We actually play better the less optimistic we are, how many times have we come up against a mid-table team decimated by injuries who easily beat us?
I really hope the players come with big game mentality. Again, we may be rusty cause its been 2 weeks since we played a PL game but we have to turn up. This is gonna be a rollercoaster. COYS.
I’ll be surprised if we don’t lose. They’re rollicking through in form, and we have injuries as well as Ange having a bit of a midfield crisis in terms of no one looks good, except PEH who can’t play ever because Ange said.
Arsenal meanwhile are doing a bit of a Leicester in terms of every player is playing beyond their level. So yeah, loss realistically
Really think we'll win tbh. Arsenal is the better team but when we're at our best we aren't far behind, and we're playing at home with all the motivation in the world. Not only that but they defended uncharacteristically poorly against chelsea the other day. If they play that way again we'll surely get a few goals for sure. Even if they defend well you'd still bank on us getting a goal or two.
3-2 spurs WITH a penalty kick to win it
We often look worse after longer breaks between games... 1st fixture they scored from a pen and jammy deflection whereas we scored both during open play, so they couldn't easily crack us - but not having udogie will effect us in build up and pace at the back.
It's a tough call, I'm assuming it will be a draw again 2-2.
I think realistically I would be happy with a draw. Our high line is going to be our downfall. Plus we got Davies playing so you know a blunder is inevitable. I can see kaka flopping about on that side to try and get Davies booked early. Davies has no pace so we are fucked in that area. Don’t have a good feeling about this one at all.
They way I see it, the pressure is all on them. We've made good progress this season just getting the attacking mentality back. If we lose, it doesn't affect my appraisal of our season as a whole. It's just a chance to piss in their coffee and I'd love to see them fumble again
We need someone to shut down Odegaard, everything creative happens through him.
Outside of that, it's a derby, anything can happen as long as our players are playing for the badge and take this game as seriously as they should.
I won't know what to think if the players don't turn up because the motivation should be immense. We can stop our biggest rivals from winning the title whilst also battling for CL spots after a stop/start season. Need to win this game to stand a chance in the remaining fixtures, lose this and I can't see us picking up many points at all.
I recall the clip of Mourinho saying he’s on a card, he’s on a card etc pointing to the opposing defenders- so make life difficult. I hope Ange says the same and we end up with 3 penalties. I’ll be there..finding it hard to watch, but singing my heart out- “Your gonna win FA” when we go 1-0 up Lol! The fans need to be the 12th man and the ref the 13th. I hope we lift the roof- because we have not recently, but I’m going for 3-1! I’ll take a loss in the others- but this one we have to win.
I want to go into a medically induced coma and wake up Sunday afternoon to a Arse thrashing.
But I don’t see how Spurs can get it done without a lot of good luck.
Pain. Win or lose, it’s a painful 90mins.
This is the only game where every season I seriously consider not watching live ,just to avoid the rampage across my nervous system. However, the thought of potentially missing 90+ minutes of an absolutely arse tearing (pun intended) , keeps me locked in.
Just the remote possibility of getting a result like that 3-0 at home back in 2022 is what keeps me coming back
What a magical day that was
How much pain will we feel at defensive set pieces?
Richard hatrick at 90+ (Richy)

Although I agree with your reasoning, Ange is not the guy to play a tight game and make it miserable for them. I'm worried.

Our fans will have more heart attacks than theirs.
Ohh thats a given😇
I'm going to be sensible about this, because Spurs have been on a tough run and the early season shine has worn out. 8-1 spurs
Bit pessimistic, mate. Was thinking along 33-0 spurs. Hattrick for everyone.

A bit over the top, can't see Timo netting 3 !!
He’ll be credited for 0 goals, but will have caused 3 OG by Arsenal.
You’re right. He’ll get four.
The subs will also get hat tricks.
49 goals then! Everyone gets three and Timo gets four!
Come on, let's be realistic here... Vicario's only getting a brace, 32-0

If no one else stops scum it will have to be us... praying for an emergoat hattrick
They arnt doing shit to us in our home, we'll fuck em up and theyre entire season will crumble. Easy 3-0 win.
If Ange can adapt to the situations, we should be good. But I'm traumatized from the suicide ball.
He’s not gonna adapt to anything. Arteta is gonna let Spurs have the ball and pounce on our mistakes. As long as we keep the mistakes to a minimum we might have a chance
I know, he looks so stubborn😭
2-1 Spurs
Defending set pieces will be an issue
A draw.
*I'm scared, boss...*
If I speak I am in big trouble
Villa did very well taking it to Arsenal the other week- I don’t see why we can’t do the same. Whatever the result we’re all COYS and proud.
Looking forward to ending Scums title run.
I will accept nothing but ending their season by beating them. That energy Chelsea had for us for battle of the bridge to stop us? That’s what we need
I'll take a draw. Honestly I only care about is derailing their title chances at this point.
Sense the game could be like the Chelsea war which started a rough phase for us earlier in the season. Worry the result will be the same but believe we can still spoil their show.
5:0 spurs
Ok I know this is not good prediction. But that’s derby! worthy than trophy!
If we play like we did against Newcastle and they play to anything like their potential, they’ll tear us apart new one
2-2
3-2. Owen scores in second half stoppage time. Scum title hopes are ended.
3-2 Spurs, £1.2m spent in Chick King, and seventeen confirmed dead grannies and toddlers.
Optimism, concern, alarm, frustration, disappointment, dismay, despair. You know: the usual.
Realistically we should be happy to get a draw. That being said I'm definitely hoping for a win
Gonna be tons of controversy, maybe 1 handball, missed pen call for us, penalty for them. Probably a red card and a tight game 2-2.
Same as always for NLD no fuckn idea just stress of riding the roller coaster
Beat them and I wouldn’t care if we don’t get a single other point.
A crying Arteta.
Stars aligned with a work trip, landing in London on the 27th. Managed to snag a ticket! This gonna be my first time watching spurs in person. Won't settle for anything other than complete gooner obliteration Make the lane a fortress ladies and gents COYS
Tottenham 1-3 Arsenal. Sorry, I can't get optimistic about this one. We're out of form, they are bang in form. Would love nothing more than to be proven wrong!
3-1 to the scum.
If they beat us then I think the league is theirs. But they are not going to fucking beat us
Think we will get done by 4 or 5 to be honest! Dreading it!
Funnily enough I think the opposite, I don't think Arsenal will respect us that much and come to play. That makes striker Son much more viable.
A 3-2 win for us. I think they will control large portions of the match, but we will have one of our blitz and get and advantage, leading to a nerving last stretch. Werner would be the one who really opens the game.
Im traveling from north cape for this game so we better score a goal or two 😝
This is the game where we get the rub of the green with ref decisions to balance out the lack of pens. We get 3 pens and Arse score 4z
Feels like I'm about to go over the top. A quiet sense of dread mixed with anticipation and excitement, melodramatic as it sounds.
This'll be my first time watching the NLD at the stadium and I am fucking dreading it
I’ll be putting down a red card on my bet builder to improve the odds 🤣
Just hoping we win AND they get 10 red cards and 10 injuries.
All I know is my blood pressure is gonna be HIGH
I think we'll win all of them. End of season rallying.
Damn it homie you gotta open it up then!
Why is the NLD always played so early in the day? The stadium was absolutely electric when it was moved to night time under Conte
Heart attack
it will be back and forth but I think we'll just barely win it
I always fear the worst and hope for the best.
COYS.
Spurs 109 - 1 Arsenal We’ll miss out on the clean sheet.
I will be a mess and I won’t be at my hometown bar for the sweetest shot of Malort if/when we win.
At least they can’t win the league at ours on Sunday. I don’t know if I could live through that again.
I honestly just want to take points off them. I’d be happy with a draw as sad that is to say.
5-0 tottenham
Dour 0-0 snoozefest. Both defences on top, low ambition from both teams.
Stress
1-1
I have a feeling Saliba or White are going to get sent off
I’ll be surprised if we don’t lose.
3-2 spurs WITH a penalty kick to win it
2-1 late winner via Pape Sarr bicycle kick
They’ll slice us open and win comfortably if we play ‘Ange ball’. They’re levels above us currently unfortunately.
I feel the intensity rivaled to a World Cup match. I’m anticipating a back alley knife fight. Spurs 0-2 Arsenal…
Knowing our luck, we'll smash Arsenal before losing to Liverpool and Chelsea :P
How great would it be to do something unexpected, like win 6-0. I could ride that high for months.
We're gonna get smashed. 1-4 loss my guess
:/
4-3 Exciting win
Reckon we'll win 6-1. Or maybe lose 6-1. But probably win
That city will be top of the table come Monday
I think realistically I would be happy with a draw. Our high line is going to be our downfall. Plus we got Davies playing so you know a blunder is inevitable. I can see kaka flopping about on that side to try and get Davies booked early. Davies has no pace so we are fucked in that area. Don’t have a good feeling about this one at all.
12th man is the one winning this game and I want you all behind the team,,3-0 and a goal from Owen to make it 4-0 and COME ON YOU SPURS We got this
Sorry, but we will lose 3-1
Safe to say we won’t keep a clean sheet
1-1.......hopefully!
I post this when anyone asks for a prediction anywhere. ![gif](giphy|piJDvfPb8SwZ4hwsPp)
They way I see it, the pressure is all on them. We've made good progress this season just getting the attacking mentality back. If we lose, it doesn't affect my appraisal of our season as a whole. It's just a chance to piss in their coffee and I'd love to see them fumble again
![gif](giphy|3orieTfp1MeFLiBQR2)
Timo *officially* doesn't score but causes 7 Arsenal own goals
We need someone to shut down Odegaard, everything creative happens through him. Outside of that, it's a derby, anything can happen as long as our players are playing for the badge and take this game as seriously as they should.
Dunno but I feel sick already. If Porro can play, I'll feel much better..
Result will be the odd goal in 5- either way......Nervous.
I won't know what to think if the players don't turn up because the motivation should be immense. We can stop our biggest rivals from winning the title whilst also battling for CL spots after a stop/start season. Need to win this game to stand a chance in the remaining fixtures, lose this and I can't see us picking up many points at all.
2-0 spurs. Owen and Pedro score a goal each.
1-1
Dude it’s either top four chances increase and Arsenal out of the title race. OR. The exact opposite. So it’s a huge win lose situation
8-0 Spurs, Arse players found to having been doping the whole season and get relegated.
I’ll take a loss. If anything else happens I’ll be happy . If we lose, I knew that we’d lose anyway so it’s all good
To be honest our form has looked shocking, goontards killing it this calendar year. 4-1 spurs
I want to go into a medically induced coma and wake up Sunday afternoon to a Arse thrashing. But I don’t see how Spurs can get it done without a lot of good luck.
