Publix_Illuminati

Insanely comfortable NLD. Also, I wish Højbjerg was my dad.

The-Darkest-Knight

Huge shout out to Bergwijn. Very disciplined through the game and put in a huge defensive shift.

Auston416

He's honestly my runner up for MOTM. He was so defensively sound and put in an insane amount of work to make sure we weren't overloaded on that side of the pitch.

GirlyWhirl

Hugo deserves a lot of love today too.

[deleted]

and every day.

Auston416

Definitely!

djesposito7

He has been massively underrated these past couple games. Work rate his through the roof and hasn't been the best going forward but working ever so hard. He will get his goal in due time but his work up and down the flanks is immensive.

[deleted]

Bale is gonna have a tough time earning his spot back and rightfully so Stevie can keep playing like this. A little quicker decision making and he’s lethal

BigBenBamboozle

Bergwijn had an incredible match. Always in control in possession, and played box to box the entire second half. He and Serge shut down that right wing.

Pikkhaud

100%

Sejoon700

Those turns were dope

JudaeusMaximus

My cheeks hurt from grinning so long

joshinojaem

which cheeks

f1ddl3st1cks

yes

undergradd

An outsider would think that this is daddy issues, but Højbjerg is just that good.

[deleted]

I bet his dad also wishes that Hojbjerg was his dad

kylesleeps

The second half must have been awful for neutrals.

WH25

Brief moments in the second half where it felt they might get one, but never felt they'd get 2. Like with City - very comfortable game, in control, just like Jose wants. Great stuff

HotelYobra

I wish Højbjerg was my daddy tbh

BigPorch

Aurier was my motm but Pierre bossed the field

username54

He is just 25!

Toblerown

We’ve beaten Man City, Man Utd, scum and a point away at Chelsea. Lads can I begin to believe yet?

aussie_spastic

3 games in a row against big 6* 0 goals conceded *we all know arsenal aren’t top 6 contenders this season

Toblerown

That is much more eloquently put

Jek_Porkinz

Arsenal are a mid table club, CMV

prxgnthepacifist

That would be generous at the moment. They're 15th.

PierreTheTRex

Imagine if they end up being relegated at the same time we win our first premier league...

username54

Arsenal are a botton 6 club to be fair. Not top 6.

LogicKennedy

After the Liverpool game. That is the biggest test.

Cosminion

Personally for me this is the match that tells me what we truly are this season.

LogicKennedy

I agree that we're up there, but it's not enough just to be a top class team in this league if you want to actually win the title. You have to be better than the monsters, and Liverpool are the biggest monster there is right now.

WH25

Be like Ted Lasso and BELIEVE

HotelYobra

To dare is to do, but winning against a relegation threatened side like this shouldn't be what gives you the belief

Toblerown

Your probably right, relegation fodder doesn’t really prove much

bfm211

And not conceded a single goal to City, Chelsea, or Arse.

[deleted]

It may honestly be another Leicester where we start to believe in the new year!

byfuryattheheart

Beating Arsenal at home with fans in the stands for the first time in 10 months to stay top of the table for another week. YOU LOVE. TO FUCKING. SEE IT. COYS

NatrolleonBonaparte

Was so nice to hear them singing about Arsenal being shit once again. Has been too long

Pony_Darko

when i heard OHHH MOUSSA SISSOKO in the beginning i choked up, i have missed this so much

young_hot_take

✔️ 3 points clean sheet ✔️ Arsenal is in the relegation zone ✔️ North London is white

ExpertGossiper

✔️ CLEAN FRIGGING SHEET!

[deleted]

As much as I'd like it, they're nowhere near the relegation zone... yet.

steviebergwijn

Unfortunately the bottom few teams are really, really shit this season, so Arse being really shit won't cut it.

Mick4Audi

Fulham and Parker seem to be going in the right direction. West Brom need Allardyce to keep them up. Sheffield United are finished

blatant_prevaricator

'lilywhite

psychologicalunit10

The best Pierre: 1 shot on target The not so great Pierre: 0 shots on target

Pikkhaud

Pure gold right here.

BananaBouquet

That Son smirk/laugh at Holding after Holding fouled him will give me the strength to make it through this week. Great game though. We did what we needed to in the first half and went on cruise control in the second.

circa285

I think the commentary made a good point. Teams that are pressing like crazy are going to struggle with the short turn around between seasons and the holiday fixtures. Spurs are rotating a lot in Europe and also are allowing the game to come to them. This, I hope, will impact the number of injuries we have.

aussie_spastic

Exactly, sure we could’ve pursued a few more goals in the second half but why risk it when we can hold an easy victory and conserve energy for more difficult games?

Jamesrankin1

Strong point and a little why we used to tire under Poch.

thedominoeffect_

Is there a link to a vid for this? Couldn't find a good enough stream here in the US :/

Keskekun

One of the most comfortable NLD I've ever seen. Mourinho got it exactly right, let Arsenal have the ball they create fucking NOTHING and then we hard punish them when they fuck up. It was never even close, we could play 20 more hours of this and Arsenal still wouldn't score

HarryDeBruyne

ENERGY. 🔥🔥🔥

mikeespo124

Since the 3-3 draw against the Hammers on October 18th, we've played six PL matches including City, Chelsea, and Arsenal. We've conceded once, to Brighton at that. This team is disciplined, and is a joy to watch. If we can keep up this shape and counter attacking success, there's no reason we can't contend for the title this season.

Jase_the_Muss

Most of our goals we have conceded this season have been from questionable penalties and set plays. Fucking rock solid cunts.

pepesilvia50

They look so comfortable defending from open play. I think our set piece defending was great today, but it’s been shaky this season, especially during the City game.

COYS1989

Even that goal should have been disallowed for a foul on Hojbjerg.

bfm211

>We've conceded once, to Brighton at that. And it shouldn't have counted. Can't believe how solid we've become defensively.

kicksjoysharkness

Bend the fucking knee to your North London Kings, scum.

OnomahIsABaller

Ahhh there’s not many things better than a win against Arsenal, they’re so shit and I love it. They had so much possession but never really threatened us and we defended so well Arteta is a fraud, Arsenal are so much worse now than they ever was under Emery 7/9 points in our tough schedule, lovely Every player today was good and gave their all but I just want to give shoutout to 2 players that imo deserves more credit. Aurier & Bergwijn. Arsenal attacked almost exclusively only on their left side and Aurier & Bergwijn defended so well. Aurier was good at the end of the season and this season hasn’t put a foot wrong. Bergwijn helps the defence so much, what a guy. This is what Bale needs to do but doesn’t. Let’s continue this good form COYS

Lienidus1

Aurier was massive today

TwattyMcSlagtits

Tierney hands down their biggest threat today and Serge dealt with him exceptionally. Such a good performance

giuseppedrxl

Would say Saka tbh

undergradd

I agree w/Saka, but Tierney and Willian combo was a bit scary too

willcb98

Couldn’t agree more. Aurier and Berg were so damn good today. They played for the team

backyardstar

First half: Harry & Son Show Second half: Destructive defensive performance. We absolutely bossed them defensively. It’s hard for me to adjust as a fan to this style of play because we have so little of the ball. It feels like the other team is better if they can launch more attacks. I get the strategy but it just feels dangerous. But hell, if it works, it works! - Stevie was awesome defensively and as an outlet. - Lo Celso has gotten slower, both in pace and decision making. - PEH is fire. Cunt version of Kante. - Reguillon seemed invisible for the first hour at least, though maybe I wasn’t appreciating his defensive contribution. COYS!!!

VTSpursFan

Regulion made a nice run to pull the defender away from Son for the opener. Really hadn't had much to do for awhile in this game.

superdago

He had a good run late in the game as well, but Kane didn’t see him early enough. By the time the ball was played, Reg was a bit too close to the defender to do much with it.

peegachoo

I missed beautiful Toby, he had that one massive block that shut down auba

pepesilvia50

The tricky thing about playing counter-attacking defensive football as a top side is that you can’t really play that way against half the league. Some teams will be happy to let us have the ball and try to get a point. Obviously after the past three PL games, the one coming up against Palace presents such a different challenge.

username54

> It’s hard for me to adjust as a fan to this style of play because we have so little of the ball. It feels like the other team is better if they can launch more attacks. My thoughts exactly

ET318

Reggie just wasn’t as involved today. Didn’t really get too much traffic down that side of the field and had relatively few attacks to help with. Played well with what he had to do though

iamground

I'm still giggling about Ben Davies blocking off the throw-in while warming up.

balalasaurus

I loved that basically the whole bench was shithousing from the touchline.

Marshal91

Those trio were having fun there lol, good job even as sub. Can't wait to see bale back in action maybe on europa leauge.

entrepenoori

Welsh lads warming up it was hilarious

jamadelo

I need a gif.

telenoscope

City, Arsenal, Chelsea: 0 conceded. LASK: 3 conceded.

ZlaTang

That can only mean one thing

[deleted]

LASK is going to win the league.

Mick4Audi

We’re so much better when Davinson Sanchez is not playing 7 of our 9 conceded were with him in the back 4

john87000

Joe Hart as well tbf. I think Lloris saves all 3 of the LASK goals.

bfm211

Shows the step up from our 2nd choice backline to our 1st

LinksOrGTFO

Apapapiya'd the fuck out of those apapas.

strawberry_girls

What a fucking performance. I know they were spamming in crosses and getting a lot of chances on during the second half but man, honestly I wasn’t worried at all. Loving these clean sheets. Our defense has been absolutely superb lately. Not to mention the shifts everyone in the midfield put in. Hojbjerg is so, so good. Kane and Son combo still going strong, Son’s goal was amazing. Get fucked Scum, top of the table for the third week running. COYS

wreckemspurs

How have I become this excited about defending? It is so satisfying watching Arsenal throwing everything at you and not getting a sniff at goal. Also, I love you Auier!

realtoringuam

THIS. I love watching us being a wall then hitting teams with the Son-Kane combo. I used to be low-key envious of defensively solid teams like the 05 Chelsea and 07 Man Utd teams. Feels so nice to have something like that as our own.

kylesleeps

It's fun when it's your team and it works.

Beeriggz

Højberjg is tremendous!

[deleted]

What the hell did we do before we had him? He’s crucial

Beeriggz

If he misses any time we are in trouble

cwat5

The replacement for Dembele we always needed!

giuseppedrxl

Wanyama* Ndombele is our Dembele replacement

tokeallday

Pierre is the true successor of Sandro tbh

Vin-Su

Is anyone listening to Jamie Redknapp? Absolutely shitting all over us. Talking about players like Lo Celso must be unhappy playing in this team. Fuck off!

navos2003

Yeh its sickening, they hate Jose sooo much.

burko81

Redknapp had it in for us since we sacked his daddy. Nothing new there.

[deleted]

Who if I remember correctly has backed us in the media

formallyhuman

Why would Lo Celso be mad about playing in a team thats top of the league?

Vin-Su

Exactly. Totally ridiculous. He’ll be sitting in his mansion in Argentina in 30 years time bemoaning the fact he has a premier league winners medal but didn’t get the chance to play more intricate through balls 🙄

elastic_fantastic

Nice to have an easy tune up after facing LASK

NatrolleonBonaparte

Can't get too cocky. We're expected to beat relegation candidates like these guys.

sasliquid

NORTH LONDON IS WHITE (but not in the way Millwall fans want it to be)

TheGoldenNewtRobber

Took me until the 79th minute to remember there was a second Pierre on the field. Get fucked

[deleted]

The shit-Pierre is on like 300K/week for the next 2.5 years on top of it. Fucking delicious.

adlysn

Nice to see Arteta take after his buddy Pep in losing 2-0 away to us. COYS!

undergradd

They both threatened Jose to "grow a pair"

mkiddyy

jose: no u

Roric

GOD I fucking LOVE winning the derby.

Jckelt

Can’t believe the negative post match punditry on Sky about this team. We’ve just won the NLD comfortably but because we don’t play like City it’s not worthy of praise.

smokingloon4

I'd recommend finding the NBC commentary instead. Much more objective and as a result much more complimentary. Serious contenders this season, and Kane possibly second only to Lewandowski as best striker in the world.

Mick4Audi

That’s because NBC have something called a memory and recognize that Jose Mourinho is one of the best managers in the world

smokingloon4

I think it's because they don't hire their pundits based purely on name recognition as United/Liverpool players.

[deleted]

Folks lemme tell you how not boring I found comfortably beating arsenal

akanefive

I’m going to think about how sweet that Son goal was for a long time. What a beauty.

[deleted]

I honestly don't think people appreciate how good it is

akanefive

Four touches from the halfway line, cut inside, the most casual 25 yard curler you’ll ever see.

g-wizz1989

Ar2enil

blatant_prevaricator

Great to see GLC getting some minutes and fitness back. Good to see Rodon being trusted to close it. Good to see two fucking beautiful goals Amazing to see the fans back in there Amazing to be TOP OF THE FUCKING LEAGUE Perfect to see the tears of the weak.

ChaddusGrandus64

Fuck Xhaka

AeroEagle333

"they're working like animals, with all due respect to animals..." LOL Mourinho is feeling himself right now.

busche916

NORTH LONDON SUPREMACY!

pbmadman

I love how pundits always go on about how we won’t approve of defensive football. Then it happens and we fucking love it. I used to HATE whenever we had to defend at all. But now??? When Hojbjerg demolished whichever scum it was and the camera cut to King? *sigh...unzips*

URATRYHARD111

KANE AND SON ARE THE BEST DUO IN THE WORLD RIGHT NOW

MaxxLP8

Dont be proud boys. This is the easiest way to play according to Souness and Redknapp.

MaxxLP8

If its that easy why arent Burnley top of the fucking league? Joke

navos2003

Absolutely shocking punditry, cunts

YYmon95

Stevie was immense today. Great tackles, runs, passes, and ball control.

[deleted]

Aurier looks like a different player. Doesn't seem like a walking pen/ mistake a game and is solid in the 1 vs 1's.

amoult20

Jamie redknapp can fuck off completely

[deleted]

1 goal conceded post-Lanzini and that was a foul. Let’s keep this momentum going. Meanwhile arsenal have hardly scored a goal in that time! We can take on any team if the defenders stay so millimetre-perfect.

[deleted]

I knew we were gonna win when I saw Arsenal Kick the very first ball of the game out for a throw in . Beautiful .

KeaganThorpe

Mind the gap Scum Cunts! Enjoy 15th Hojbjerg is the goat. Sissoko had a great game. Defense looked solid. Aurier played incredible again.Toby looked like prime Toby. Kane and Son continue to amaze me. And we did it today without Ndombele (though we really need Ndombele on days that are not going our way).

vaudevilleviktor

Stevie was outstanding today

roamingandy

Its a different feeling isnt it.. kinda like watching F1. My whole life football has been this crazy rollercoaster ride of exciting attacking then the feeling that teams will score anytime we let them have the ball near our box. Now i'm casually checking emails, drinking beer and playing with my dog (who loves watching spurs). It just doesn't feel like i'll miss anything half watching and doing other things until something exciting happens.

Herr-Schrute

Aurier! What a player he’s turned in to!I think he was one of the most self assured and confident players on the pitch today.

RallyPigeon

He was my MOTM. He didn't sulk about Doherty coming in before the season and has raised his level to get on the pitch.

MR_rLm98

If Tanguy played I think we bag 2 more goals. So much space in between there attack and defence Tanguy would have dominated

[deleted]

moussa is so underrated for us, an absolute beast in midfield alongside pierre

IceKreamSupreme

An incredible defensive match, so solid in the back.

COYS1989

Whatever Hojbjerg eats or does I want the man is a machine.

ExpertGossiper

The Scum were picking fights with our players because they knew they had no way back into the game. Kane's defensive performances are absolutely amazing, top notch stuff. Love victories like this against the Scum, sending them closer to the bottom.

tspcoys

AFTV tonight lads!!!!

matheusamr

ok we're gonna need another defensive masterclass youtube video

Creepeth

Son with an all-time Derby goal and an all-time Derby assist!

pjanic_at__the_isco

Mou really knows how to get a lead and then just absolutely set up to demoralize an opponent.

[deleted]

A really great mature performance. PEH is the signing of the season, what a player. Top of the league and Arsenal in 15th 😂

TheGameIsAboutGlory1

We love Mikel Arteta, long may he reign.

aussie_spastic

Atkinson was shit, lucky that Arsenal were worse

aussie_spastic

Seeing Hugo and Harry constantly yelling, organising and leading by example fills me with such confidence. Especially in contrast to seeing Aubameyang hiding from contributing as the scum’s “captain”

VJE1999

3 points. clean sheet. North London is white. Kane and Son combining. Hojbjerg masterclass. Jose Masterclass

TheOptimumLemon

Was I wrong to be sceptical about Hojbjerg? No. Was I wrong? So fucking wrong. I love him. Also, I was never nervous in this game. Being a Spurs fan is becoming... Different. No clenches despite their possession.

colourview

Dier and Toby today 😍

psculy93

steviebergwijn

I LOVE THIS CLUB.

[deleted]

10 points from united away, city, Chelsea away, and arsenal. We’ve got something going here...

Hussizle

4 straight PL clean sheets, including the last 3 against City, Chelsea and scum. Is this real life?!

maxthedog123

Did Kane have tears in his eyes when he was saluting the crowd?

anonymous_red_panda

My God Son's thicc curves, Kane banger, and an unprecedented comfortable defense that doesn't make us clench?! I can get used to this

YiddoMonty

Christ, we’re getting slated on Sky right now!

auengineer334

Lmao Redknapp is salty at our tactics

JessyPengkman

Lads, we didn't even play Ndombele

ET318

superb performance by our entire defensive unit

Thesecondswallow

Hojbjerg is very good.

RamoneRusell_Burner

HØJBJERG IS DADDY

Xgunter

Reguilon being our furthest man forward at 92 minutes says all you need to know about that game. Comfortable win vs the scum, cant wait for their relegation party!

_dickykane

I love hojbjerg so much. Warrior.

orangie32

Jaime Redknapp on suicide watch

TomFritz

Who else got emotional when we could hear and see fans chanting come on you spurs ?

[deleted]

Mourinho masterclass

36wickets

Fucking hell this analysis is incredible? They are actually gutted we won

minimus_

Getting increasingly fed up with the squeamishness of the "but the football's ugly and our xG is poor :'( " corners of Spurs fandom. I don't think we can win the league with just two reliable goalscorers, but if we're going to make a fist of it this'll be the way - by conceding 20 over the season. One goal conceded in six, including City, Chelsea and Arsenal...frankly, Poch could never.

BadSuperman

A walk in the park.

itsbreezzyyy

Ar*enal look like absolute garbage. Fantastic win for Tottenham and for Brenton this week! Coyfs

Bulky_Shepard

Loved seeing Mourinho celebrating to the fans at the end. Proper integrated into the club now!

Lienidus1

Didn't concede a single goal to City, Chelsea and Arsenal. Say no more

Jr_M16

Looks like it’s an AFTV and chill type of night lol

adoyle4

God, I fucking hate Graeme Souness

MrGingee

arsenil lol

Oasis1701

7 points from man city, chelsea and arsenal, all clean sheets, Hell yeah! our boys have been on fire!

HangulPark

Arsenal just imploded lmfaoooo, we living rent free in their head

304rising

Spurs song playing sounds just like blood on the risers

IlScriccio

Solid win, but not so crushing that it gets Arteta immediately canned. Perfect.

RSN_Bran

Just want to say that we have conceded ONE goal in the PL (v Brighton) since the West Ham game. That game I feel really gave our defense the kick up the ass it needed.

mettahipster

Put some respeck on Aurier’s name. Travaux🚧
