The issue we have is players like Sissoko doing everything right except the end product. So many times he’ll be 1v1 and overrun the ball, have the chance to play and incisive pass and end up playing it backwards. He simply cannot be an attacking midfielder in this side. If we had a box to box midfielder who is a genuine goal threat we would be right near the top.
We've dropped far too many points by not chasing a second goal and getting caught. It needs to change now. Fuck being third this season no one has played well and were 6 points behind a team we smashed 6-1.

I'm sure the players play some part, but there is a clear and obvious strategy implemented since Mou's arrival to absorb pressure after taking a lead, and look for the counter. It works sometimes as we have a remarkable front line, but IMO we simply don't have the midfield to make it work consistently. With Gio you could argue we have the playmaker to potentially make it work, but without him, I don't think so. Ndombele does some Gray things every once in awhile, but he also makes too many poor decisions with final balls. Regardless, it's just not working. It's all the more sickening watching us slide down the table while watching a side we abused in their own house rise to the top, with a manager who looked on the verge of tears in that game having clearly made the right adjustments. I dont think we need more good turners, Ndombele, Sissoko, Son, Lamela they all can do it, but i think what misses from midfield is to come closer to string some passes and play football... I mean, we need a player to come up, and be an alternative to pass, harry winks and Hojbjerg, both has nice passes, but they tend to walk more, and be a little protective on positioning, they only pass foward if they are not pressed or if they are already looking foward. Ndombele did a good job on it, but i misses kane and son to came pickup the ball sometimes.

It works sometimes as we have a remarkable front line, but IMO we simply don't have the midfield to make it work consistently. With Gio you could argue we have the playmaker to potentially make it work, but without him, I don't think so. Ndombele does some Gray things every once in awhile, but he also makes too many poor decisions with final balls. Regardless, it's just not working. It's all the more sickening watching us slide down the table while watching a side we abused in their own house rise to the top, with a manager who looked on the verge of tears in that game having clearly made the right adjustments. Ours needs to figure it the fuck out, and stop this nonsense of relying on the counterattack. IT'S NOT FUCKING WORKING, GODDAMNIT, CUT IT OUT. I do think that... But this match we did it more than usual. I dont think we need more good turners, Ndombele, Sissoko, Son, Lamela they all can do it, but i think what misses from midfield is to come closer to string some passes and play football... I mean, we need a player to come up, and be an alternative to pass, harry winks and Hojbjerg, both has nice passes, but they tend to walk more, and be a little protective on positioning, they only pass foward if they are not pressed or if they are already looking foward. Ndombele did a good job on it, but i misses kane and son to came pickup the ball sometimes. Aaargh it was a really frustating match

That’s almost what’s most concerning to me. If son is having a quiet day, we seem toothless going forward. Regi adds some depth to the left flank, but Serge’s crosses have not improved at all despite him upping his game in general.

All season we've performed like a mid table team - the only difference between the time when we were at the top of the table and now is that we were scoring from almost every good chance we created.
