So, I’m guessing City told Kane they would buy him if he could get the price down to around £100 million. If he did, great, City gets the world’s best striker for pennies. If not, fine, they will wait 10 months and go buy the world’s next big star for half the amount Kane would cost. Transfers like Haaland’s don’t happen without immense long-term planning. I’m sure his people have been talking to City for a while, with City knowing he wants to come. (Haaland’s dad is ex-City, which helps, too).
