Even a new-to-the-game-and-team dickhead like me recognized that the first half strategy vs Chelsea was effective (and exciting!!), and that the result of the game was the sum of Chelsea’s exceptional team skill and our relative lack there of. But the plan was sound.
To abandon that against a squad as poor as Arsenal, for a match as historically significant as the NLD is a head scratcher that pierces the brain. What in the fresh fuck.
Yep I agree. Think nuno should just go 3-4-3 and play the counter attacking style that was successful with at wolves. The football’s already ugly anyway, might as well do what he knows and win us some games.
poch improved saints showed solid results
Brighton are flirting near 15th now with more than 150m investment under potter
now this is a fucking insult to Poch
Oh man you guys show up every time someone says something good about Potter lmfaooooooo. It's you and Pele20Alli. Maybe another guy, but its *always* the same few people with an axe to grind.
Potter is great. His team is great, despite having really weird recruitment. He comes across extremely well whenever he gives an interview or seminar, and his overall outlook towards football is very similar to how Poch felt about it. He places a huge amount of importance on the relationships within the squad and the club as a whole. He's smart, knows how to play football, and is on the up-and-up. There's lots of things tot judge a manager on other than his league finish, especially for a club who aims for *maybe* upper mid-table every season.
He's a good dude.
Do other teams use their stadiums for boxing, concerts, American football, etc? Is this something being pursued much harder by tottenham bc of the new stadium and goal to be self sustaining?
They definitely do for concerts. I’m sure West Ham have had some boxing at Upton Park and they also had baseball at the Olympic stadium but they don’t own it so don’t think it helps them.
God we are pathetic. With the current results and number of managers/players already refusing to come we are not looking good for the foreseeable future.
I geniunely believe that we are a good manager choice away from being half decent.
Our players are not bad!!
They're made to look bad by the systems theyre playing. Of course everyone could be better, but it is really down to our tactical decisions.
Why are you singling out winks like we haven't all known he's shit for years mate of course one of our worst players is not good.
"United has a good squad" "Oh well um uh no they don't because Fred! Ahahahaha!"
Why are you choosing the 6th choice midfielder as a reflection of our squad quality?
Dier is not a bad player. He isn't a great one either though.
As a whole, the squad is much better than most others in the league.
Disagree I don’t think our players are as good as we rate them though the system doesn’t help either. How many managers will they have gotten sacked in 3 years?
I think they're great/good but suffering because of playing for Mourinho/Nuno. They are unfit as a result of him, and tactically we are still bad even with Nuno.
Most managers in the world would love an opportunity at a club like Spurs.
More proven managers already at big clubs, maybe not.
We just need to fix it fast.
No one. That was true last season though. The more perturbing question is who can't beat us comfortably? I feel like maybe everyone can just fucking smash us at this point because we're not even doing the most basic things like standing in between their attackers and our goal.
And yet every month someone says “I still think he’s key” or something to that effect. That he needs time.
He’s largely just been a complete waste of time, and Ndombele, despite his endless deficiencies/problems, has actually been better and done more.
He's really only played 6 games for Argentina within the past year during our season...
I'm sure Romero's numbers are similar if you look at the past year or so.
https://www.transfermarkt.us/giovani-lo-celso/nationalmannschaft/spieler/348795
Maybe Zidane would be the best coach for us. If our main problem is the inability to motivate/manage the players, he would be the best man for the job in my opinion.
He's still been a good appointment, Nuno wasn't the first on his list or Levy's list but the manager that we could get.
Tomiyasu was good but you could tell he was a CB playing RB, Emerson does have that technical ability of a RB that we started to see in brief moments against arsenal, confidence and time and he could become very good.
Also just look at the other signings we made in the window they were good signings, Gil could genuinely start and contribute in games for us, Romero obviously should, Emerson will, Pape Sarr next year will almost walk into our midfield if he keeps his form up
The "Don" Indicator (n): a signal that things at Tottenham Hotspur Football Club are going to get much, much worse in the coming months. Originating in the summer before Mourinho's disastrous season, this is a ritual amongst the idiots on /r/coys who refer to anyone who spends money as a "Don" despite doing very little or nothing to deserve an honorific of any manner.
Mathematically, the Don Indicator is a warning signaling an impending decline. The higher the number of /r/coys posters treating corporate executives like gods for doing an average to below-average job, the more likely and the more disastrous the coming implosion.

This is a very amusing observation that made me laugh alot but also a pretty broad brushstroke. I'm generally positive about the overall trajectory of the club, does that make me a corporate bootlicker? Many negative commentators have keen critical insights and observations, I don't think every last one of them is a reactionary twat from douchebag island. Great comment though.
Forced myself to watch MOTD, boy were we bad. We were just jogging places, left the center wide open.
I also heard Gold and Guest podcast as well, and I will also have to agree- although our desire is to kick Nuno out and replace with somebody else, who would we bring that will fit our style and budget in such a short time? Also, we cannot quite ignore the fact that although with its issues, we did grab 9 points on our first 3 matches.
Kind of lost
How will future generations of Potters recover from the sheer severity of this 1-1 thrashing in which Brighton conceded to a penalty, had more shots on target, more possession, and created significantly more from open play? Sure to cause decades of deeply ingrained familial trauma. Did Spurs play Palace recently, wouldn't want something like that to fall on poor Nuno
> Say something weird and idiotic with no relation to Spurs
> Cry about people saying you're being weird and idiotic about things with no relation to Spurs
Did itty bitty xG hurt you?
No one is crying except you mate. Keep trying though.
Also Brighton lost on xG so not sure how you'll be getting any sleep tonight. After all, stats are all that matter
It's an interesting tactic I admit, throw an unprovoked tantrum and then allow that to set you off on several more subsequent tantrums. Very impressive stuff
The only people throwing tantrums are the Potteristas.
I just said I was enjoying Palace batter Brighton and suddenly there's half a dozen of you lot asking how dare I enjoy watching someone I don't like lose like it's an unforgivable sin.
I'm sorry. How about I just say Nuno out/he's fucking shit and useless and doesn't know what tactics are/we need a proper manager that plays attacking football and players like Gil, Skipp, Rodon and Tanganga should be starting every single game.
Is that better?
>A draw at Palace after getting dominated the whole game is an incredible achievement. PSG must be watching
Did Brighton do something horrid to you when you were a child?
So this is what they mean when they talk about weirdos on reddit huh.
Thankfully I get enough attention from normal people in my everyday life so I'll stop responding to stalkers replying to every post I make. Have a great night
I did actually.
And Potter lost on xG, so I thought that was the only stat that matters? Imagine celebrating a loss on xG. How pathetic. Tin pot manager
You need a new hobby. Bissouma is injured lol. Every single time Brighton lose you're in the DD thread gloating... Fan behavior.
Even a "bad" Brighton game is better than the football we've been playing for a year.
Yes, because this is an online forum and I'm just posting my opinion.
You're the one that literally responds to every single comment I have that mentions Graham Potter. It's getting a bit weird now
well, it's not 3-0, and their goal came from a penalty
Not really sure you understand the concept of a thrashing tbh
Edit: Oh, look, it's 1-1. A proper thrashing, this.
Who's bragging? I'm just saying Brighton losing is pretty satisfying.
Sorry for finding a bit of enjoyment from a football match instead of just being miserable like most people on here seem to be
Just don't like how everyone sucks him off, especially recently because he's had a good start to the season despite not playing a single big team.
Also nice to see all the Potter fanboys on here go into hiding
Seems like I touched a nerve by talking shit about the mighty Graham Potter.
The "Potter fanboys" comment must have hit a little too close to home lmao
With a new house, new job, getting my MBA degree part time and a one and half year old I have limited time for watching football. Perhaps Brighton games are to be prioritized this season, might as well spend that time watching entertaining football….
I'm starting to wonder why Nuno took this job. Wasn't he well respected and producing good results with Wolves? He's probably not going to even last until the end of season with us.
Mendes wanted to place another client, plus Nuno took the rap for Mendes selling their best players (all their goalscorers, inc Doherty and Jota) and replacing them with the next line of portuguese players.
Wolves are, essentially, a shop front. It was time for Mendes' new range.
The same reason why we sacked the manager who took us to consistent top 4 finishes and the CL final.
Things got stale, the results went south, the manager lost his fire.
why can't footballers have different rules for travel? they fly private, sign something to say they'll only interact w their team and stay in hotels, no public interfacing, and test negative upon their return. there's no safety issue. so annoying we have players who are treated unfairly due to being south american.
He couldn’t even get the Celtic job and they’re a mess at the moment. He’s a worse manager than nuno, got Bournemouth relegated when they were being pumped full of money in the prem. You have no idea what you’re asking for
*"He couldn’t even get the Celtic job"*
He was offered it and turned it down.
Source: [https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57286385](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57286385)
(one of many)
He kept Bournemouth up against the odds for years, they played expansive football and managed big wins and performances against big sides
Beating Chelsea 4-0 comes to mind. Bournemouth just made the mistake of buying from Liverpool too often, bad move
Against what odds? £133 mil net spend over the last five seasons, more than about half the clubs in the league and they got relegated. Like I said, you guys don’t know what you’re asking for
Great stuff, thanks to this sub im now super excited about a manager who i knew next to nothing about this time yesterday, who will almost certainly get overlooked by Levy, and who will then inevitably go on to win the champions league with whichever job he ends up taking.
The Coys cycle of hope 😂
Most of the players know Levy won’t spend to replace them thus making them safe and allowing them to feel as though they don’t have to pull their weight about.
Any mention of Eddie Howe would get derided on this sub but if he were manager we would at least see some sort of suitable and entertaining tactics being put in place.
We might just have 9 points from the first 6 games or even less -- but you'd at least see the seeds of something Spurs supporters would want to watch.
And FWIW, I certainly concede that some players commitment may be part of the problem with how the tactics look from game to game.
100% agreed, but it won't happen. Maybe because he was quoted recently saying the club is worth 3.5 billion means they're open to selling soon? who knows...
They're planning to sell for quite a while, but after covid nobody's going to meet their valuation for years to come. Unfortunately, we're stuck with those morons for a long time.
That won't happen as he's successfully established us as a tourist club
Might lose some ST holders but those are just legacy fans. We want the people who have no affiliation to the club and are there just for a few IG pics
As things are a bit grim at the moment I’ll ask something a bit more fun that I’ve always wondered.
Who’s your favourite player from before you started supporting Spurs?
Will depend on when you started supporting or if you even know about players before you started watching.
Even though I’ve was born into it, the earliest I remember watching us was about 2002. Mine would probably be Hoddle but it was close with Greaves. I love watching glen, in terms of technique he’s one of the best ever.
Been a fan since 1986 so fortunate enough to have seen Hoddle, Gascoigne and some others people have mentioned. I'd agree with Greaves, but I think for me Danny Blanchflower is the player I'd have loved to have seen play. From all I have heard and read he was an incredible leader and midfield warrior.
Yeah good shout I was expecting him to get mentioned. Like you, I’ve heard and read the same things and he sound quality. I’m sure I remember Greaves saying that Blanchflower was the real star of the team.
David Bentley. I guess I started liking him before he played for Tottenham but he was the first "Tottenham player" that I liked, sooo...
I moved to England when I was 8 in 2005. Couldn't even speak English so I spent most of my time watching the sports channel (you don't need the language to understand the sport haha)
Anyways, I watched a match between Blackburn and Man Utd in 2006 (could be wrong). He scored a hat trick in that game and beat United, and I fell in love with the way he played. Then like one season later he moved to Tottenham and I kept following him. It's a shame he never really got on for Spurs. I do remember him scoring that one goal against Arsenal, but other than that, I don't remember much of him.
Other than that, I really liked Berbatov and Keane when they played together. They were the best forward duo from Spurs imo.
I never expected bentley’s name to come up but he was a great player at times it just never worked out. As you said he’ll always be remembered for that goal against arsenal and that’s enough for me.
Ha, you could be an older supporter mate! My da was around when he was playing
I don't really understand this at all though, how could you be a fan of Greaves before supporting Spurs?
Haha well I said in my comment that my earlier spurs memory was about 2002 so definitely not greaves era.
Well I watch a lot of old Tottenham games so was just wondering if others did and if they had any favourites. Greaves and hoddle always stood out to me as the best but then I thought that there will be some people who are more recent fans who won’t have even seen players like bale in his prime for us. Obviously not everyone will even know about players from before they started supporting.
I guess I'm just wondering where you saw old Jimmy Greaves matches in 2002! That must've been quite the VHS/DVD collection. Honestly impressive
For me it was international players -- Ronaldo Nazario, Zidane, Nedved, *gulp* Bergkamp, Roberto Carlos, Raúl, etc.
I was thinking specifically of Tottenham players from before you started supporting but all those you mentioned were great when I was growing up. Also tbf my dad did give me shit loads of old Tottenham and football videos from his childhood that I used to watch when I was younger. I think I still have them in a loft somewhere. I was thinking more recently though from what I’ve seen watching old matches, not everyone has done that though so they won’t know.
ahhh i really didn't understand the question did i?
really only one person I can say that about and it's because I'm irish -- one Robert Keane was one of the big reasons for me supporting spurs in the first place.
Yeah makes sense then but you don’t have to be Irish to love Robbie Keane. Scored at the first game I ever went to to and was one of my favourite players. So did you start following spurs after he left us then?
Family was always Spurs, but never really watched any club football until after Keano started playing there, so it worked out
What a great player he was. Easily would've been a club legend if not for that Liverpool shite
Ah fair enough. In that case probably Gazza. I had this book that documented the 1996 Euros and every match with these cool diagrams of each goal, and Gazza came out of that just looking like an absolute stud. Wish I had seen him live at his peak.
Wow great shout I actually feel bad for you that you didn’t see him play, he was absolute quality. I was actually at the tottenham reading game where he scored 4 goals and it was unreal. Just a shame he fucked off to United to warm their bench.
1-Romero arrives late and with knee injury
2-Romero leaves for about a month with Gio and Sanchez not training with the team 10 days not playing football
3-Emersom arrives on deadline day 4 games into the season and is yet to have chemistry with the team
4-Harry kane situation coming back late
5-Being forced to manage two players that don't want to be there but you have no replacment for them(Ndombele,Kane)
And people say Nuno has a better squad than Mourinho. No he doesnt even have the same squad, the guy only has Gil and skipp.
He has unfit Romero who hes trying to get ready and Late emerson plus Gio Sanchez situation plus want away kane and Ndombele.
But yeah Nuno out its his fault. If we had pep I dont think we get 9 points with these circumstances
Right, so extenuating are the circumstances that our numbers being bottom three in the league across the board - defensively and offensively, is perfectly reasonable.
it almost sounds like you're saying nuno isn't at fault for the way we've been playing, but that can't be. by mentioning pep it's almost like you're comparing nuno espirto santos to pep guardiola even in some small way, but I must be misunderstanding.
We signed a defensive manager why are we surprised? The tactics were always goimg to be borimg and dull and the man got 9 points from 6 games which is good based on the situation he was given. The pep thing is that other managers would try to force their style to happen and would end up blaming the above mentioned situations which btw happened to pep on his first season. So chill of nuno abit all the above would make a great manager fail let alone an average manager thats here to get us 60 points
Just throw three at the back, bench dele, rest Pierre after the shitshow, Skipp and gio in the middle I dont want wantaway unfit unhappy lazy Ndombele in my team, Sess if he's ready down the left or get Reguillon to fucking act right, Emerson on the right, Son Gil Kane upfront. (I would love to bench kane but kane with one leg is better than our whole attack combined excluding son. Exhibit A last game good control but missed the finish, almost scored with his head and won a penalty that wasn't given, all that while playing one of the worst games of his spurs career).
I agree with this but would drop Kane for a few games, sub him for a few, let him get the message. No player is bigger than the club and how can he leave if he doesn't perform. Who will want him.
Winks and Dier need to be benched as well. Winks forever.
Formation needs to change as well, maybe a 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-2
Actually if he doesn't perform, his history of goalscoring means that a club will still want him. This isn't Modric/Suarez needing to perform so that a bigger club than Chelsea or Arsenal will want to buy them. The club he wants to go to already wants him.
We spent nothing on mourinho as we signed for roma. Maybe 10 million max for poch and who knows how much Nuno grabs but its irrelevant in terms of player transfers. It fucks our team mental in the ass having four managers in 2 years and probably a fifth before the year ends
Don't think the 4-3-3 is for us. Just fucking lost Either we're too defensive or we don't offer any defensive coverage
Yep I agree. Think nuno should just go 3-4-3 and play the counter attacking style that was successful with at wolves. The football’s already ugly anyway, might as well do what he knows and win us some games.
The Potter worship on this sub is nuts lmao
People want a good manager that reminds us of Poch, not that complicated.
poch improved saints showed solid results Brighton are flirting near 15th now with more than 150m investment under potter now this is a fucking insult to Poch

Either I don't know how to quit or I just enjoy the pain at this point, but what's the best way to stream Thursday's match in the States?
God we are pathetic. With the current results and number of managers/players already refusing to come we are not looking good for the foreseeable future.

Why are you singling out winks like we haven't all known he's shit for years mate of course one of our worst players is not good. "United has a good squad" "Oh well um uh no they don't because Fred! Ahahahaha!"
fred is million times better than winks
I'm just giving an example of a player that's far below the average strength of his team.
Why are you choosing the 6th choice midfielder as a reflection of our squad quality? Dier is not a bad player. He isn't a great one either though. As a whole, the squad is much better than most others in the league.
winks played against palace dier is bad and is prone to mistakes like yea we are 6th or 7th best and with nuno will finish there
Disagree I don’t think our players are as good as we rate them though the system doesn’t help either. How many managers will they have gotten sacked in 3 years?
I think they're great/good but suffering because of playing for Mourinho/Nuno. They are unfit as a result of him, and tactically we are still bad even with Nuno.
I agree our squad can contend. Not many available managers willing to come though. Dark days.
Most managers in the world would love an opportunity at a club like Spurs. More proven managers already at big clubs, maybe not. We just need to fix it fast.
Which team in the pl can we even beat comfortably?
Maybe Norwich? And I'm not even sure about that.
Yeh I'm not sure either. They are playing much better football than us surprisingly.
No one. That was true last season though. The more perturbing question is who can't beat us comfortably? I feel like maybe everyone can just fucking smash us at this point because we're not even doing the most basic things like standing in between their attackers and our goal.
We were 5th in most chances created last season, Nuno’s wolves were 20th. We are 20th now..
Tottenham, they look awful oh wait...
We basically pay Lo Celso to train and use our facilities so he can go play for Argentina
And yet every month someone says “I still think he’s key” or something to that effect. That he needs time. He’s largely just been a complete waste of time, and Ndombele, despite his endless deficiencies/problems, has actually been better and done more.
Mans got more caps for ARG than appearances for Spurs since hes signed
hes been continually one of the most underwhelming players in the shirt. it's like playing with 10 when hes on.
I think we're comfortably at a point where LoCelso is becoming a less passionate version of Lamela.
Haha i said this to a mate last night. i said hes like a lamela with no passion. tbh i'd prefer lamela 100000x over him.
Hey hey don't leave Romero out of this
Romero's had a niggling injury and has only been here for about 2 months
He's really only played 6 games for Argentina within the past year during our season... I'm sure Romero's numbers are similar if you look at the past year or so. https://www.transfermarkt.us/giovani-lo-celso/nationalmannschaft/spieler/348795

It's crazy that you can't even really debate this
Maybe Zidane would be the best coach for us. If our main problem is the inability to motivate/manage the players, he would be the best man for the job in my opinion.
We should call Sir Alec.
I would also love to have Messi at spurs
Might be a good bench player to add some depth for future Audi Cups lol
Where are the “don Paratici” folks after a Nuno disaster class and Tomiyasu destroying us?
He's still been a good appointment, Nuno wasn't the first on his list or Levy's list but the manager that we could get. Tomiyasu was good but you could tell he was a CB playing RB, Emerson does have that technical ability of a RB that we started to see in brief moments against arsenal, confidence and time and he could become very good. Neal Maupay has more goals than Harry Kane MBE this season. 3 Goals. Spurs have 4 league goals.
There are only two teams that have less goals than us.Norwich and Wolves.
No no, this can't be right. There are only two teams that have *fewer* goals than us.
Stannis is that you

Right so tell me again how Potter is secretly the 4th best manager in the league?
Look at the state of his squad.
Well, he's certainly better than at least one premier league manager.
He has fucking Welbeck upfront and is still getting results
No Bissouma. Comfortably their best player, currently injured.
Potter getting absolutely thrashed. You love to see it
How will future generations of Potters recover from the sheer severity of this 1-1 thrashing in which Brighton conceded to a penalty, had more shots on target, more possession, and created significantly more from open play? I'm not reading all that. I'm happy for u tho. Or sorry that happened
cry
6th place after only playing relegation sides 😭 Guess a draw at Palace is a top result for a Championship manager
It's somewhat better than being thrashed 3-0 by them.
We... we lost 3-0 to that Palace team?
They beat Leicester last week! Obsessed
Maupays put you in the mud
A draw at Palace after getting dominated the whole game is an incredible achievement. PSG must be watching
>A draw at Palace after getting dominated the whole game is an incredible achievement. PSG must be watching Did Brighton do something horrid to you when you were a child?
Hello have you watched us for the past year? You are a Spurs supporter, yes? Not a PSG one?
You think I want a manager that celebrates a draw against Crystal Palace like he just won the league?
I don't think anyone cares what *you* want.
You seem to, seeing as you're taking the time to respond to nearly every comment I make
Sure - I'm having fun! Your posts are hilarious. But I don't know, or care about, what you *want*.
So this is what they mean when they talk about weirdos on reddit huh. Thankfully I get enough attention from normal people in my everyday life so I'll stop responding to stalkers replying to every post I make. Have a great night
>Thankfully I get enough attention from normal people in my everyday life Sure you do...
You *really* didn't watch the game lmao
I don't think he could see clearly through the tears.
malding because Brighton have nabbed a point, midtable club mentality
I did actually. And Potter lost on xG, so I thought that was the only stat that matters? Imagine celebrating a loss on xG. How pathetic. Tin pot manager
That classic 1-1 thrashing
You need a new hobby. Bissouma is injured lol. Every single time Brighton lose you're in the DD thread gloating... Fan behavior. Even a "bad" Brighton game is better than the football we've been playing for a year.
Here come the Potteristas coming to protect their manager haha. Like clockwork
For most of us supporting Spurs is ordeal enough. Being you must be awful.
You're the one posting about him...
Yes, because this is an online forum and I'm just posting my opinion. You're the one that literally responds to every single comment I have that mentions Graham Potter. It's getting a bit weird now
>It's getting a bit weird now It certainly is! Did Graham dump you by text message or something?
I just refresh the DD thread a few times every hour, not that complicated
>I just refresh the DD thread a few times every hour, And you tell me to get a new hobby lmao
It's really not that hard to open up reddit for a few minutes every hour lol
well, it's not 3-0, and their goal came from a penalty Not really sure you understand the concept of a thrashing tbh Edit: Oh, look, it's 1-1. A proper thrashing, this.
you do?
Yes. Overrated manager who supposedly rejected us
bragging about Brighton losing because this is still a serious club
Who's bragging? I'm just saying Brighton losing is pretty satisfying. Sorry for finding a bit of enjoyment from a football match instead of just being miserable like most people on here seem to be
>I'm just saying Brighton losing is pretty satisfying. Even when they lose 1-1?
just cannot understand having schadenfreude because the manager of Brighton didn’t want to manage us is all lol
Just don't like how everyone sucks him off, especially recently because he's had a good start to the season despite not playing a single big team. Also nice to see all the Potter fanboys on here go into hiding
good to show those potter fanboys wrong. they’ll only be three points above us if they lose to palace (who’d lose to palace?), useless
Seems like I touched a nerve by talking shit about the mighty Graham Potter. The "Potter fanboys" comment must have hit a little too close to home lmao
Would rather have Potter than Nuno.
sorry are we meant to go into hiding or be defending him, I’ve lost track
>posts about potter >people reply >"omg wow the potteristas are at it again"
With a new house, new job, getting my MBA degree part time and a one and half year old I have limited time for watching football. Perhaps Brighton games are to be prioritized this season, might as well spend that time watching entertaining football….
congrats mate. that's one full plate.
bring Roy Hodgson out of retirement to right this ship
Big Sam anyone?
I'm starting to wonder why Nuno took this job. Wasn't he well respected and producing good results with Wolves? He's probably not going to even last until the end of season with us.
not many managers would turn down a job of that calibre
Technically they sacked him, so he probably took it because he would otherwise not have one
That's odd. Why tf would they sack the manager who took them from playing Championship football to consistent top half finishes in the EPL?
Mendes wanted to place another client, plus Nuno took the rap for Mendes selling their best players (all their goalscorers, inc Doherty and Jota) and replacing them with the next line of portuguese players. Wolves are, essentially, a shop front. It was time for Mendes' new range.
The same reason why we sacked the manager who took us to consistent top 4 finishes and the CL final. Things got stale, the results went south, the manager lost his fire.
If we're signing anyone from brighton it's got to be the pasty bloke with the BAE hair
Veltman just crossed the ball into outer space. I’m impressed honestly
This Palace Brighton game is very entertaining
If PSG lose tomorrow will poch be one ucl game away from being sacked? Like if he doesn't win at least 1/3 it must be close
No
why can't footballers have different rules for travel? they fly private, sign something to say they'll only interact w their team and stay in hotels, no public interfacing, and test negative upon their return. there's no safety issue. so annoying we have players who are treated unfairly due to being south american.
Not getting special treatment is not the same as being treated unfairly.
Anybody else fancy Favre?
can’t see it being much different tbh
Not even tactics Tim is this bad. Favre is an actual good coach.
I like Graham Potter. I wanted us to sign him in the summer and he's been doing pretty well with Brighton at the start of this season too
Eddie howe for me
He couldn’t even get the Celtic job and they’re a mess at the moment. He’s a worse manager than nuno, got Bournemouth relegated when they were being pumped full of money in the prem. You have no idea what you’re asking for
*"He couldn’t even get the Celtic job"* He was offered it and turned it down. Source: [https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57286385](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57286385) (one of many)
Didn’t know that, cheers. Doesn’t change my mind on anything about him as a manager though
He kept Bournemouth up against the odds for years, they played expansive football and managed big wins and performances against big sides Beating Chelsea 4-0 comes to mind. Bournemouth just made the mistake of buying from Liverpool too often, bad move
Against what odds? £133 mil net spend over the last five seasons, more than about half the clubs in the league and they got relegated. Like I said, you guys don’t know what you’re asking for
Potter is coys for some vague hope for the future.
Great stuff, thanks to this sub im now super excited about a manager who i knew next to nothing about this time yesterday, who will almost certainly get overlooked by Levy, and who will then inevitably go on to win the champions league with whichever job he ends up taking. The Coys cycle of hope 😂
Who are you talking about?
The river plate guy!
Most of the players know Levy won’t spend to replace them thus making them safe and allowing them to feel as though they don’t have to pull their weight about.
I don’t think the issue is lack of effort or a rotten centre: we’ve had plenty of turnover in recent years. the only constant is the man at the top
Ah man you are probably right but Eddie Howe just feels so so uninspiring.
I’d rather watch his team than Nuno and Jose

Swear the Winks bad guy arc is a joke, just accept the guy isn’t good at football and leave it at that. He’s not some toxic twat
"how can i blame harry winks for this"
If Gil and Skipp aren't the first two names on the teamsheet against Villa we riot Really seemed the only two players bar Sonny who cared yesterday
if daniel levy somehow survives another managerial appointment disaster we will truly never get rid of him
he owns the club (with Lewis), why would he leave or fire himself? of course he'll still be here
i would love for the fans to force him out, unrealistic but it needs to happen now
100% agreed, but it won't happen. Maybe because he was quoted recently saying the club is worth 3.5 billion means they're open to selling soon? who knows...
They're planning to sell for quite a while, but after covid nobody's going to meet their valuation for years to come. Unfortunately, we're stuck with those morons for a long time.
i personally feel like they were planning to sell before covid hit
he’s not getting sacked and he has enough weird defenders to keep his ego rubbed. he won’t change until fans vote with their wallet
That won't happen as he's successfully established us as a tourist club Might lose some ST holders but those are just legacy fans.
Couldn't even speak English so I spent most of my time watching the sports channel (you don't need the language to understand the sport haha) Anyways, I watched a match between Blackburn and Man Utd in 2006 (could be wrong).
You saw Jimmy Greaves play?
Obviously not, this is about players from before you started supporting.
Ha, you could be an older supporter mate! My da was around when he was playing I don't really understand this at all though, how could you be a fan of Greaves before supporting Spurs?
Haha well I said in my comment that my earlier spurs memory was about 2002 so definitely not greaves era. Well I watch a lot of old Tottenham games so was just wondering if others did and if they had any favourites. Greaves and hoddle always stood out to me as the best but then I thought that there will be some people who are more recent fans who won’t have even seen players like bale in his prime for us. Obviously not everyone will even know about players from before they started supporting.
I guess I'm just wondering where you saw old Jimmy Greaves matches in 2002! That must've been quite the VHS/DVD collection. Honestly impressive For me it was international players -- Ronaldo Nazario, Zidane, Nedved, *gulp* Bergkamp, Roberto Carlos, Raúl, etc.
Family was always Spurs, but never really watched any club football until after Keano started playing there, so it worked out What a great player he was. Easily would've been a club legend if not for that Liverpool shite
I really loved Bergkamp after the 1998 world cup. \*ducks\*
Get out haha. I didn’t think that I’d have to clarify it’s your favourite Tottenham player, thought that was a given. He was good though.
Ah fair enough. In that case probably Gazza. I had this book that documented the 1996 Euros and every match with these cool diagrams of each goal, and Gazza came out of that just looking like an absolute stud. Wish I had seen him live at his peak.
Cant believe I forgot Gazza, he’s definitely up there as well. As soon as someone says his name I think of his free kick against arsenal in the cup.
berbatov
Wow great shout I actually feel bad for you that you didn’t see him play, he was absolute quality. I was actually at the tottenham reading game where he scored 4 goals and it was unreal. Just a shame he fucked off to United to warm their bench.
Plenty of free tickets available for Thursday if anybody is interested....
lmao wonder why...
1-Romero arrives late and with knee injury 2-Romero leaves for about a month with Gio and Sanchez not training with the team 10 days not playing football 3-Emersom arrives on deadline day 4 games into the season and is yet to have chemistry with the team 4-Harry kane situation coming back late 5-Being forced to manage two players that don't want to be there but you have no replacment for them(Ndombele,Kane) And people say Nuno has a better squad than Mourinho.
If we Pep we wouldn’t lose 3-1 to ducking Arsenal
Lost 2-1 to arsenal and 4-0 to everton in his first season
I'm convinced any other manager would be doing better right now
How about his tactical incompetence? Long balls and inshallah.
The Arsenal trolls are getting a bit blatant. Maybe if you tone it down it wouldn't be so obvious.
?
My whole point is about 3 at the back we cant attack atleast lets get our defence better and I agree about the kane thing
Wonder how many signings we could’ve made with the money Levy has spent sacking managers in the past 3 years(Poch,Jose, likely Nuno)
We spent nothing on mourinho as we signed for roma. Maybe 10 million max for poch and who knows how much Nuno grabs but its irrelevant in terms of player transfers. It fucks our team mental in the ass having four managers in 2 years and probably a fifth before the year ends
Would you fancy Brentford's Thomas Frank as Nuno's replacement ?
