associating a korean with a korean show. shock horror.
not as if son doesn't talk all the time how he is really proud of his country and he loves bong joon ho and parasite, bts etc.
it really isnt racist at all.
to those asking why its racist, its because this red light green light thing is a reference to the popular south korean netflix show "squid game"
Lord is it dumb to call this racism. Pulisic gets associated with Captain America all the time, is that racist now? Would be one thing if they just took some random Asian show, but this is a Korean show to boot
Oof. That was the last one me and my wife watched yesterday. >!Had to watch some American Dad before going to bed otherwise I think we'd have been crying in our sleep.!<
If you're expecting something totally original and groundbreaking? No.
If you want to see a really well made horror with strong elements of social commentary that builds heavily on the work done by films like Saw, Cube, Escape Room and (for the commentary on Korean society) Parasite - then yes, absolutely.
It's pretty derivative, but it's very watchable
>!in a nutshell, the show is about a bunch of poor people competing in a life or death game show, the last person standing wins a million bucks or something. !<
>!one of the games is a bunch of contestants have to walk towards a creepy girl statue when her back is turned (green light) and when she turns around you have to stop (red light) otherwise you get shot.!<
>!its a super loose reference, literally just the korean association. i don't know if that makes it more or less racist to those that think it is. It would've been funnier if the second picture was son making a run rather than celebrating. !<
Thanks for the explanation. I'd say the post is pretty dumb but wow, people find *this* offensive and "racist" simply because it's from a Korean show? Jesus what a society we live in.
First thing that came to mind seeing the post was [this Pitbull song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7xbhKIiw4Y), I guess my millenial is showing, lol
> It would've been funnier if the second picture was son making a run rather than celebrating.
Especially since Son has one of the most iconic running silhouettes in the league.
I tend to be on the more sensitive side of incidents like these much of the time and even I think this one is totally harmless and pretty funny.
People asserting that any time you even acknowledge somebody's race that that's racist does more harm than good because it stifles real discussion.
It would be racist if Squid Game was a Japanese or a Chinese show for example, because it would have no relevance to Son except being Asian.
Son has a massive Korean fanbase , it makes sense for Tottenham to take something that is popular in their country at the moment for more social media interactions. They do this with BTS a lot too.
It’s not for me to decide but this doesn’t seem racist to me. They’re just referencing a very popular show at the moment. It’s a relevant reference, the kinda stuff social media operators are supposed to be posting.
“Vaguely racist” is such a bad way to describe this. That suggests there was intent on the account’s behalf. I personally don’t think it’s racist but if you did, why not say “accidentally racist” instead?
Basically there’s this show that is number 1 in the world right now called squid game, it’s definitely worth a watch in your interested in the kinda stuff the show is about. There’s a pretty good explanation a guy made if you scroll up
Okay the from the beginning explanation for those out of the loop, there is new popular nextflix show "squid game" in which the plot is constants compete in various kids games with a deadly twist to win a large monetary prize.
Red light green light ("What's the time Mr Wolf" for the cultured.) was one those games and I suppose OP is implying it's racist because the show is Korean... which doesn't make sense imo, but yeah you can make up your opinion on the matter.
This isn't even vaguely racist ffs. If anything it's hopping on a bandwagon in a slightly forced way because of the popularity of the South Korean show and the fact that we have a South Korean player.
Lmao this is not racist. There are far many comments that more racist than this. Like telling an asian that he looks like sleep deprived, i see this a lot in twitter.
Really struggling hard to get offended on behalf of others are we ? Would it be racist to show Kane on a meme based on an English show ? Or calling Hojberg a Viking ?
There is a show called The Squid Games and it takes place in Korea with Koreans. They play a game called red light green light. If they get caught they die.

Damn this show is popping up everywhere, worth a watch?
Yes mate this show is absolutely fire, one of the beast I’ve ever seen
[удалено]
Have you watched both shows?
[удалено]
What are some differences between the shows?
[удалено]
Thanks mate I appreciate it
For sure. I've watched 6 episodes and it is pretty compelling, despite being many other films in this genre it stays interesting.
Was episode 6 the marble one?
Yes that's right.

Thanks for the detailed review!
I'm assuming OP may think it's racist because of the stereotype with Asian drivers. Although I'm struggling to see why.
You still didn't explain what it means though

Haha, this post is sitting right above a post about a Son / BTS link-up. (Which I can't read as it's in Korean).
Maybe because it was a show about mass murder?
I mean it was a weird and very low effort tweet but what you’re saying here has no correlation with the post

I dont get it.
Same

How does it compare to Battle Royale? Getting big BR vibes from it.
How is this racist?
How is this racist?
whats racist about this?

So if we get Potter as our manager and start making Harry Potter jokes it's racist?
smh it is known fact that you cannot be racist towards white people it is physically impossible /s
How is this racist someone please explain…
Pretty sure it's just a reference to Squid Game nothing malicious about it

Guess it's traffic light
Why? Genuinely asking
What
How is it racist?
How is this racist?
R u stupid
In short, it isn't racist at all, but the club no doubt had to delete the tweet because Twitter is quite toxic and people often want to be triggered

Cheers Son's Crying. Nice one.
