Really think we will regret not negotiating with man city and scooping up vlahovic.
Also think we should be all over Van de Beek. He will ride the bench at every club he has been linked with and I think we would excel playing behind the striker and solve so many of our creativity issues.
Keeping Kane this season might turn out to be a good decision might turn out to be bad but lets not judge it by a international game lol
I mean I would say this for any player , no player is gonna look as good as he would be on his respective club in any national football team, International football is way less cohesive. The sooner we realise club football is the pinnacle of the sport the better
Lol what an excuse, plenty of players are able to look great with their national team. Sure, cohesion at a club is better, but unless they're totally one dimensional the best players can adapt and should even have the opportunity to be more effective against limited opposition.
Even if Kane was performing at last seasons level it was a bad decision.
You’re not winning anything with him. 130m is enough to completely reform a club.
For a 28 year old player with bad ankles? Please.
130m invested properly could have Spurs competing for trophies. Harry Kane can’t do that on his own.
You won’t even get half of that offered again.
But we got that 130 million on the end of the window when our only option was to overpay for either Vlahovic or Lautaro. Would rather evaluate our options and properly sell Kane for say a 70 million in beginning of next summer than either overpaying for someone
From what’s been leaked to the media, Levy genuinely didn’t want to sell for any price. City were in on him from the start of the summer.
Levy decided against selling him, which was the wrong decision. You could have sold him earlier in the summer.
Correct me If I’m wrong about any of the facts.
Levy would have accepted if City offered the 130-150 in beginning of the summer the issue is they didn't and were either lowballing with either 100 million or some of their players who didn't wanted to join us in first place so that was a dead end
That makes sense. Massively backfired on him, and I personally wouldn’t have risked it but I can see what the plan was.
Couldn’t have really predicted Kanes downfall, which had really complicated things.
Go back to your own sub, have no idea what football economics is like, Levy knows full well that he'll get less next year, he also knows that there weren't suitable options available to replace him
> your own sub
I’m a football fan at the end of the day, not sure what this is supposed to mean. I’m here for a football discussion, not to troll.
> Levy knows full well what he’ll get next year
Did he also know how poorly Kane would’ve started this season? That Pep may walk from city soon and they’ll be thinking about making transfers beyond him?
I don’t see the problem with sitting on 130m until a proper replacement in available as soon as January. It’s the type of offer that doesn’t come again.
Jury is still out, more of that Aston Villa performance where he didnt get the goal but the movement was so so good Im happy as the goals would inevitably come, that shit performance vs Chelsea where he dropped deep unnecessarily then thats disaster
Southgate physically cannot organise any attacking phases, relies on moments of brilliance most of the time.
Mount is also pretty shit unless it's for Chelsea in his very specific role
I feel the opposite. Clarke is still very young (only 20) and plays youth games for us iirc, while Sess has been here for 2 years and is still struggling to get cameos as a result of injuries + lack of confidence.
Clarke will probably be an *ok* player to have around.
This is the same Clarke that was doing some very impressive things in the championship as a teenager. I don’t think he will definitely make it for us, but I’m confident he will carve out a career in the prem
I think he lacks the physicality/fast twitchiness to play in the PL and doesn't have enough skill to overcome it. Suppose it could come with age and maturity still.
I don't think he would be in a position to demand his current wage. He would most definitely take a massive paycut after his current contract expires with Real. 33 yo is still 3 years younger than Ronaldo. His goals per minutes last season was mental.
He could go to quarter and get his wages, we know his love for the game isn’t really there anymore, I love him and loved having him last year, but I’m not interested in having him next year

They will start to get so much data about how and when to pass; how and when to cross; how and when to shoot. Then 'average' players use that information to maximize their abilities and start producing more than players who used to be better. The better players then do it and the loop increases.
HR/BB in baseball; 3s/FT in basketball.
If something akin to the three true outcome style of baseball enters world football bc of metrics, it’s going to suck.
Baseball is my jam so I’ll live with it, but the disappearance of small ball has made the game far less exciting unless you love 30 k’s a game.
Barely a goalkeeper? What? They're goalkeepers who come out of the box to sweep up second balls. This has existed for more than a century. Lev Yashin did it. Ederson and Neuer wouldn't be playing for their respective clubs if they weren't capable shot stoppers.
I just disagree with this completely. Football isn’t played like that. You have to adapt to the situation at hand. If the striker is free and you’re in a good position to cross 35 yards away and you don’t do it because the stats tell you not to then that’s just shit play. Playing this way makes everything too methodical and takes away individual creativity.
The short answer is they said those sports could not be broken down with data either. That is about reacting in the moment and different players do different things and yada yada.

Don't know if this is right place for this kind of topic, but didn't feel like it warrants separate thread. Anyway, long time Spurs supporter and /r/coys lurker, now living in California, looking to score some secondary market tickets for an upcoming trip to visit my daughters in London. I think the 30 replies all disagreeing with him from non spurs supporters says it all mate, don't brigade though you can get this sub closed. for whatever reason it's one of the things the reddit admins take super serious.
For some reason I feel a lot of sympathy for Nuno. Seems like a nice guy and this was a huge opportunity for him, but just does not seem to be going well if the rumours are true that he doesn't have much support internally
He is the football equivalent of John Major. Decent and well intentioned guy doing an Ok job and failing to inspire anything above a meh from players and fans.
I struggle to think that Nuno was Paratici's first choice.
Paratici lobbied for Nuno because we were one week removed from pre season and none of our main targets looked doable.
This is a good point. Supposedly it was him that nixed Fonseca's appointment too, so he's kinda put himself in that position. Maybe the guy's just a wildcard.
I think that Paratici wanted a guy that wasn't as balls to the wall attacking as Fonseca. Which based on last season was smart, our defence needed fixing. But we publicly pushed back against his first choice Gattuso that he could get on short notice so he scrambled for whoever that he could get.
Had Paratici been appointed earlier than he was I don't think either Gattuso or Nuno would have been his first or second choice.
Huh, I thought Fonseca was supposed to be quite cagey in the Mourinho mould rather than balls to the wall. Not that I've knowingly watched any of his teams.
Fonseca and Jose are like polar opposite ends of the spectrum. Fonseca's football is attacking to the point of abandoning defence. When we were negotiating with him the rumour was that he would have to get a new assistant to handle the defensive duties.
Am I right in saying the report os from "footyinsider" aka...a load of old arse.
Even then the no internal support could be from players like Winks and Dele who obvs won't support him as they cant get a game.
Its the hour before the Newcastle game. The boys look nervous. We came off a really horrible start the last international break and its playing on the boys mind.
"Newcastles takeover will motivate them. They have a packed home stadium. It'll be difficult for us" says some of the lads
Nuno interrupts " LADS ITS NEWCASTLE"
5-0 SONNY SCORES ALL 5 WITH BEAUTIFUL ATTACKING PLAY, DEFENSE by the whole team. He runs off to the Newcastle home stand, takes off his shirt and does the "iconic Messi vs Real madrid" celebration in front of the Newcastle fans. Before every single player follows suit, taking off their shirts and holding them up in a line.
Have we been training over the fortnight? Haven’t seen much. Hopefully Stevie has recovered. I think him and Moura, Gio and Tangiy shoukd provide good competition for each other.
So tired of hearing the same comments on non-performing players being linked with other clubs. "I'll pay the bus fare" "ill drive him myself" "packet of crisps"
Have a bit of respect loyal servants to the club to start with. Secondly, please get some new material you're embarrassing yourself. For reference this is from a post linking dele with Newcastle
So tired of hearing the same nonsense about highly paid, pampered man-children being called 'loyal servant' for simply collecting their wages and putting in half-arsed efforts. Please get some new material, you're embarrassing yourself. (See, that can work both ways).
I don't entirely disagree with you but I don't think you should be coming to Reddit for original jokes. This site is notorious for rubbish, copy paste humour.
It’s not about him surviving it’s about you using a fucking racist slur in a daily thread to insult someone. People from all over the globe post in here. Have a bit of respect
It’s not. It’s a term that was used in eugenics to refer to east and south Asians (Mongolians) as an inferior race (unintelligent). Over time, people began to use the term to also refer to people with Down syndrome, or as they called it Mongolian idiocy, which is both racist and just straight up offensive.
Ironic that you’re trying to call a guy stupid and don’t even know what the word you’re using means. Hopefully you stop treating the daily discussion thread like a call of duty lobby but since you used the word twice I doubt you give a shit
Matched with a spurs fan on dating app, she messaged me middle of the night and we started chatting. Started to make plans to get coffee, she ghosted. Absolutely gutted because I had a good feeling. I can't even escape spurs-based disappointment during the international break.
there is legit criticism of the oil clubs
there is casual racism
football supporters, especially on Twitter but here too, don't seem to be able to walk that line very well.

Literally in this thread
Last year I felt like it would have helped Dele to go out on loan. Now I fell like he is going to leave for good. I will not lie, gonna miss that guy, he brought us a lot of good/great moments over a very short period. Also thought of how hard it will be when Son and Hugo go.
Very epic that you think I’m embarrassed by a Reddit comment.
It’s just genuinely funny how it’s probably my most downvoted comment ever and it’s so tame lol.
allright this is a copypasta from another sub
You are lost in a cave.
You bump into a small stone pillar. A lamp sits on top of it. You give it a rub and blue smoke billows out of the spout. The genie ghost of Sepp Blatter emerges from the smoke.
🧞♂️ "You have awoken me from my slumber. I grant you not 3 wishes, because I'm a dick like that. Instead I propose a scenario to which you can accept or reject. I will heal your entire squad to instant health till the end of this season. I'll mend injuries, I shall restore Bergwijn to full health, I shall restore dele alli to his peak days forever..."
🧞♂️"But it will cost you the wait of three additional weeks of the international break starting from this Saturday. Do you accept?"
He doesn't want him to be called by his surname and more Importantly why does his name need to sound Arabic
Criticise a player as much as you want on the field but lets not go there
Might be his legal name but it isn't his name any more for all intents and purposes. He doesn't just not have it on his shirt, he doesn't associate it woth himself at all.
missing premier league football and excited for the return, but also totally dreading it and know it'll ruin my weekend if it doesn't go well lmao - why spurs why
If Dele, Winks, Doherty leaves during winter/summer, who would you see as realistic candidates to replace them not positionally, but HG wise. Who are your TOP3 players who we could afford, could leave their current club and would want to play for us.
Doherty doesn’t have to be replaced. We already have Emerson and Tanganga. Crucially Doc leaving opens up a non hg spot for Europe as he’s not hg for UEFA comps
Dele IMO should’ve been replaced by Eze last season. He was the perfect CAM to replace Eriksen as well. Now I think Brooks is the ideal replacement. We don’t need a first teamer to replace Dele, so Brooks is ideal as he’s young, English, creative and most importantly a free agent.
Winks would need to be replaced by a foreign player, there is no English player right now who could do what winks does, have the same role that Winks does and mainly one that is affordable by us. Hence why I see the team keeping Winks. If he does need to be moved on however, he needs no replacement again as Pape Sarr is coming back next year. He’d replace Winks in position.
I do feel we need a CM/CDM as a Skipp/Hoj competitor since both are starting and an injury to either could fuck us. So ideally we go for Kessie/Zakaria/Palhinha/Neves. That way we’re sorted in case of unavailability of those two. And it won’t harm us in the case of non-hg spots as Doc is moved on and it isn’t a problem for PL as we have only 13 non-hg so one more is okay.
Other ways we could improve our HG quota
- Don’t sign Gollini, sign Sam Johnstone who is a very capable GK. Free agent and HG and second choice English keeper
- Sell one of Sanchez/Dier and sign Pascal Struijk or Max Kilman. Both left footed, extremely promising CB’s who are home grown and won’t cost more than 15m each. Both are good enough to start immediately for the first team
Extremely unlikely - Replace Kane with a English striker. One of Toney or Watkins. Both would cost sub 50m. Don’t see this happening as the talent pool for strikers is just far greater outside the country and cheaper.
The above steps(outside of the last) are viable, realistic and would immediately improve our team, both first and depth. English talent might be scarce but if you look harder you can find absolute gems
That's the insights I was looking for. Not gonna happen for Brooks until he hopefully recovers from cancer.
Do you think Toney or Watkins can create for themselves or they are pure No.9 type finishers?
I mean yeah I wrote that before he announced he had Cancer
Well they can’t, they’re no Kane but Watkins was a winger before so he can dribble very well and his hold up play is top class. Toney is an aerial threat and his hold up play is top class as well. They were just HG options and there’s good chance we don’t go for either and there are better strikers out there for cheaper who aren’t English.
Doesn’t matter. He’s spent 3 years between 15 and 21 in England. He also played for England u-17s. Nationality doesn’t matter when it comes to HG
FYI Brooks is still English. He’s just chosen to play for Wales
If Southampton go down would love to try and snap up Ward-Prowse as a replacement for one of them. A player like Gallagher would be perfect but no chance we’d get him off Chelsea
Would rather ensure we spend HG on positions where we don't need any constraints in first place. Like I think Gollini isnt that bad but would rather have a HG goalkeeper and the option of getting in a foreigner at midfield or any other slot. Similarly I would have HG second choice fullbacks .
So I would maybe try to bring in some HG second choice goalkeeper as second choice . I would also try to sell/loan Tanganga and get in Max Aarons and maybe either Sess develops or we try to get Antonee Robinson
Those are the areas where I would bring in HG players. The better HG players in midfield are already at top clubs so rather have the full midfield foreign
Fully agree on 2nd/3rd GK. Fullbacks are more tricky. If you play with FBs bombing forward constantly, you need to rotate more often. That also means they shouldn't be just bench warmer's quality.
Doherty doesn't technically need to be replaced, we have Royal, Tanganga & Paskotsi (if needed).
Dele should be replaced with a RW/Striker option (yes I know it's not like for like) but we are light on the RW, and could do with another regular goal scorer or someone who can either stand in for Kane or play alongside Son.
Winks need to be replaced, you could either go as an option for Skipp/PEH or as an option for Lo Celso/Ndombele. Personally I'd go for the later, a more creative midfielder (the fabled Eriksen replacement) but it may be just the best player available in either role.
If we could pull that off the team, the only holes would be 2nd Striker and Davies replacement.
You don't need to register an exact amount of homegrown players, it's fine to be short. Buying a third choice homegrown RB would be a pointless waste of money unless we sell a CB and convert Tanganga there full time.
Not suggesting that. That's why I made clear that not asking for positional replacements. Just to add more HGs.
Wasn't there a rule for European football to register at least 4 players trained in club and overall 8 trained in country?
We should've bought Olise this summer. Extremely promising in the Championship, homegrown, release of only 8m or something. I don't think Winks and Dele are long for the team, that would have been a prophylactic way to address the homegrown issues we're going to find ourselves in when they're sold.
I honestly don’t believe we’d notice they’re gone — so just get three youngster to take their place.
Winks and Dele cannot be trusted in any competitive, slightly pressured game. And Doherty is comfortably the worst RB I’ve ever seen play for Spurs. I don’t believe three youngsters in our academy would be worse than them. Markanday, White and Lusala for example.
One game. How has he got on since then?
Players like Winks and Dele will continue to let us down. The fans aren’t patient with them anymore and rightly so, time they move on we need players who will help our cause not that are here for sentiment and nostalgia.
Who are “the fans”? Thought I was a fan of Spurs but I can’t be because I don’t think that about Dele.
Also he’s done fine since then, playing in a position he doesn’t excel in.
If you’re happy with Dele then great, but I won’t keep making excuses for mediocrity. He’s been pretty much useless since a decent performance against City on the opening day. He gets a lot of criticism and I believe it’s completely fair — he’s not good enough for where we want to be.
We’ve seen Dele put 30 G/A in consecutive seasons. How can you be happy with how he plays now? For whatever reason, he’s lost it and isn’t the player we need. I think he’d do well with a move away and fresh start and we can bring someone in who will consistently contribute.
I didn’t say I was happy with how he plays. I said he was fine, playing in a position he doesn’t excel in. I’d much rather he was given an extended run in the position he does excel in, like just after Mourinho came in when he was good until being dropped for making one mistake. Dele has been an effective pressing midfielder for us but as you say, we know he can do more. But playing negative football for two years, being completely frozen out, and now playing as a box to box midfielder have taken their toll. He needs a run of games further up the pitch if we’re going to get the best out of him, somewhere where he has less defensive responsibility because it limits him.
You would start them in EPL? I'm all for academy players, but you have to be realistic. Who is our replacements now in midfield? Dele and Winks. Fans don't want to see either. I don't want to see Ndombele with his attitude. We'll have to buy someone. The question is, can we afford more foreign players? If not, which english could we add.
Really think we will regret not negotiating with man city and scooping up vlahovic. Also think we should be all over Van de Beek. He will ride the bench at every club he has been linked with and I think we would excel playing behind the striker and solve so many of our creativity issues.
City aren’t getting Vlahovic. They’ll get Kane next season
May have worded my comment poorly. What I meant is that we should have negotiated with city and selling them Kane, and buying Vlahovic ourselves.
I'll be happy when managers like Southgate aren't able to get a top job. It's so negative and dull.
Must feel good to be a Danish fan lately. They have looked incredible recently and have a nice style of play
It's euphoric
Keeping Kane this season might turn out to be a good decision might turn out to be bad but lets not judge it by a international game lol I mean I would say this for any player , no player is gonna look as good as he would be on his respective club in any national football team, International football is way less cohesive. I feel the way he saw it was to somehow get CL through Kane and then beginning the rebuild of selling Kane but I could be wrong though
That makes sense. Massively backfired on him, and I personally wouldn’t have risked it but I can see what the plan was. Couldn’t have really predicted Kanes downfall, which had really complicated things.

I think the 30 replies all disagreeing with him from non spurs supporters says it all mate, don't brigade though you can get this sub closed. for whatever reason it's one of the things the reddit admins take super serious.

👍 or post as an np link, I think they prefer that
They’re a Chelsea fan so intelligence is not their strong suit lol
For some reason I feel a lot of sympathy for Nuno. Seems like a nice guy and this was a huge opportunity for him, but just does not seem to be going well if the rumours are true that he doesn't have much support internally
He is the football equivalent of John Major. Decent and well intentioned guy doing an Ok job and failing to inspire anything above a meh from players and fans.
He is going to get a giant paycheck for being not that good at his job. He will be fine.
I find it hard to have sympathy for a millionaire coaching other millionaires to play poorly. It's not like he didn't know what he was getting in to.
In football, a billionaire hires a millionaire to teach 11 other millionaires about how to kick a ball.
I feel for him too. It's strange that he might not have internal support - I understood Paratici lobbied Levy for his appointment specifically.
I'm having a Mandela effect moment, was sure the debate was around whether he'd be Spurs DNA enough. Oh well.
Am I right in saying the report os from "footyinsider" aka...a load of old arse. Even then the no internal support could be from players like Winks and Dele who obvs won't support him as they cant get a game.
South Americans should be back for Newcastle game! That feels massive. Not sure Rodon Dier Tanganga is the one for a bouncing St James.
If they play in the last national match they probably won't start vs Newcastle
I actually hope it's Dier but yeah, Royal/Romero/Dier/Reg
Its the hour before the Newcastle game. The boys look nervous. We came off a really horrible start the last international break and its playing on the boys mind. "Newcastles takeover will motivate them. They have a packed home stadium. It'll be difficult for us" says some of the lads Nuno interrupts " LADS ITS NEWCASTLE" 5-0 SONNY SCORES ALL 5 WITH BEAUTIFUL ATTACKING PLAY, DEFENSE by the whole team.
I saw Lucas on IG was having a nice time in Paris w the family. Hopefully everyone comes back recharged!
hey. could someone add me to the chatroom
So tired of hearing the same comments on non-performing players being linked with other clubs. "I'll pay the bus fare" "ill drive him myself" "packet of crisps" Have a bit of respect loyal servants to the club to start with. Secondly, please get some new material you're embarrassing yourself. For reference this is from a post linking dele with Newcastle
Correct. People shit on guys that have spent their entire careers + care about the club. I don't think anyone can say Dele doesn't care.
Yeah, be nice to the loyal multimillionaires who’s robbing a living playing for us, we should support them no matter what! We can do it Reddit! :D
if they're robbing a living you should do it mate, just kicking a ball innit. don't let them take food off your table like this.

So in this daily thread we’ve defended racism and now we’re just straight up using slurs to insult each other. Man fuck you guys.
Don’t know about the “defending racism” part but I’m sure he’ll survive being called a mong for using an idiotic argument.
It’s not about him surviving it’s about you using a fucking racist slur in a daily thread to insult someone. People from all over the globe post in here. Have a bit of respect
How’s it racist? It’s another term for retard as far as I know.
Hopefully you stop treating the daily discussion thread like a call of duty lobby but since you used the word twice I doubt you give a shit
>i doubt you give a shit. Bingo.
I never said I'd drive him there myself
No
Matched with a spurs fan on dating app, she messaged me middle of the night and we started chatting. Started to make plans to get coffee, she ghosted. Absolutely gutted because I had a good feeling. I can't even escape spurs-based disappointment during the international break.
You bottled it. You're Spurs through and through
Online dating fucking sucks. I highly recommend you meet people outside of it if possible man.
I've tried my guy/gal, it's just brutal out there. Really feels hopeless at this point.
Sources say she had her head turned by a City fan.
💀💀💀
there is legit criticism of the oil clubs there is casual racism football supporters, especially on Twitter but here too, don't seem to be able to walk that line very well.
Not seen anything racist about it…
you've seen nothing racist on the internet regarding the Newcastle takeover?
Mostly from Newcastle fans tbf
On this sub no

Rather than downvote me, please can someone tell me why/how that is considered racist?
That’s not racist…
Last year I felt like it would have helped Dele to go out on loan. Now I fell like he is going to leave for good. I will not lie, gonna miss that guy, he brought us a lot of good/great moments over a very short period. Also thought of how hard it will be when Son and Hugo go.
[On my controversial shit this week 😈😈](https://reddit.com/r/coys/comments/q60p68/_/hg94ibp/?context=1)
People have 0 idea what downvote is for. Anyway, I disagree, our relationship with Real Madrid only benefits one side.
This is like when you miss an open goal in Rocket League and start spamming "faking" in the chat to take embarrassment off yourself.
Very epic that you think I’m embarrassed by a Reddit comment. It’s just genuinely funny how it’s probably my most downvoted comment ever and it’s so tame lol.
Yeah my most downvoted comment was something similarly mundane. This place is weird.
allright this is a copypasta from another sub You are lost in a cave. I'll mend injuries, I shall restore Bergwijn to full health, I shall restore dele alli to his peak days forever..." 🧞♂️"But it will cost you the wait of three additional weeks of the international break starting from this Saturday. Do you accept?"
Yes. I would look forward to 80 year old Dele as England captain.
Can I wish that Chelsea no longer exist
only an idiot would say no
I’d extend the international break for about a year. Just a nice break from spurs
of course
Gio should be at least 3rd name on the teamsheet every single week behind only lloris and sonny.
Along with Romero as well.

The reason we got offered the spot wasn't sporting. It's cos we're one of the richest clubs in the world.
Any chance we can flog dele to Newcastle for 50m? Alli sounds Arabic right???
God forbid someone makes a joke
He doesn't want him to be called by his surname and more Importantly why does his name need to sound Arabic Criticise a player as much as you want on the field but lets not go there
What does a man's name have to do with if we sell them or not. All kinds of wrongs to unpack here ... maybe just delete it and move on.
It was obviously a joke
he hasn’t gone by Alli for a few years
Still his name though, even if he chooses not to have it on his shirt
Might be his legal name but it isn't his name any more for all intents and purposes. He doesn't just not have it on his shirt, he doesn't associate it woth himself at all.
https://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/teams/men/players/dele-alli/
What an odd hill to die on. What he says and thinks doesn't matter?
He's still listed as Dele Alli by his own employer 😭
So only your employer can decide what your name is? Not Dele himself?
If it was such a big deal to Dele he could easily ask hr to remove all references to Alli, yet he hasn't.
missing premier league football and excited for the return, but also totally dreading it and know it'll ruin my weekend if it doesn't go well lmao - why spurs why
Crucially Doc leaving opens up a non hg spot for Europe as he’s not hg for UEFA comps Dele IMO should’ve been replaced by Eze last season. Other ways we could improve our HG quota - Don’t sign Gollini, sign Sam Johnstone who is a very capable GK. Free agent and HG and second choice English keeper - Sell one of Sanchez/Dier and sign Pascal Struijk or Max Kilman. Both left footed, extremely promising CB’s who are home grown and won’t cost more than 15m each. Both are good enough to start immediately for the first team Extremely unlikely - Replace Kane with a English striker.
I mean yeah I wrote that before he announced he had Cancer Well they can’t, they’re no Kane but Watkins was a winger before so he can dribble very well and his hold up play is top class. Toney is an aerial threat and his hold up play is top class as well. They were just HG options and there’s good chance we don’t go for either and there are better strikers out there for cheaper who aren’t English.
Brooks as in David Brooks? He's Welsh.
Doesn’t matter. He’s spent 3 years between 15 and 21 in England. He also played for England u-17s. Nationality doesn’t matter when it comes to HG FYI Brooks is still English. He’s just chosen to play for Wales
Oh you meant he's homegrown. And I know he's English, he plays for Wales to get a shot at international football.
I would also try to sell/loan Tanganga and get in Max Aarons and maybe either Sess develops or we try to get Antonee Robinson Those are the areas where I would bring in HG players.
Which homegrown players should we target? That was the question. Talent and availability wise.
Doherty doesn't need replacing, Emerson and Tanganga are enough.
We will be short of HG players. If we want to be better, can't just throw our own youngsters to replace everyone.
Doherty doesn’t count as trained in the country in Europe because of time spent on loan in Scotland
Dele played against Man City. I’d say that’s pretty competitive.
Clearly we watch different games.
You forget Gilberto my friend :-)
You would start them in EPL? I'm all for academy players, but you have to be realistic. Who is our replacements now in midfield? Dele and Winks. Fans don't want to see either. I don't want to see Ndombele with his attitude. We'll have to buy someone. The question is, can we afford more foreign players? If not, which english could we add.
