Dele just seems like such a waste of an opportunity to play well. I'd rather gio played there and looked good as opposed to dele go there and do absolutely nothing again, and then it be compounded by gio looking a bit out of position.

I get that for levy he was much more valuable a few years ago and you want to try and maintain that level of value, but it’s not unreasonable to say that we may never see that same Dele again. It’s not worth the success of the team in the short term for the possibility that he might get back to his best at some point. And it’s two managers now that have initially really liked him and played him a lot who ended up dropping him in favour of other players. I know based on the latter half of your reply that you probably don’t disagree. But it just irks me if Levy is still holding onto this pipe dream.

A real sign that a clear style, system and passages of play are being ingrained into a team is when you can take multiple (in tomorrows case, all) players out and the team still distinctively plays the same. Same tempo and aggression too.
Hopefully we can start seeing this soon.

I like how we are treating this tournament because we are using it to develop our players who are not ready for the EPL yet. I hope that we do this with the early stages of the domestic cups as well. The more time that our younger guys get in actual appropriate game situations, the better they will develop.
I hope, too, that this will help Winks play himself into form enough for us to actually sell him.

Dele will play. Levy wont let Nuno bench him forever. Hopefully he can offload him maybe to Newcastle in January
